Looking for a Mongolian BBQ style buffet? Iron Grill may not have the square footage that some similar places have, but that doesnt mean the food is any less. Choose your veggies, choose your noodles (several kinds to choose from), choose your sauces, then the cooks add your meat choice and fry it up. There's also a few sauces to add after cooking, and all are worth trying. The size of the bowl (and some piling) gets you a decently large meal for the price. During covid, we have always gotten our bowl to-go, and have never been dissapointed with what we take home. We hope this place sticks around so we can dine inside once things calm down. read more

The set up is like other Mongolian grills but they put the noodles at the end of the line with vegetables first. I like this because with the other way around you end up having your add one slide off the top of the noodles. I also like that they have a variety of noodles, spicy, and non spicy instead of just two choices. Friendly staff and atmosphere and the food quality is good. I would have gave it 5 stars but the amount of rice that is served is small and if you ask for more which would make it a normal amount, they want to charge extra. They also limit you to one refill on fountain soda. I usually don't drink soda but it seems penny pinching can't considering what it costs a business to buy fountain soda. My husband and I were a little confused when we entered this establishment, the staff barely even glanced in our direction, so it took us a few moments to it all out. We've had Mongolian BBQ many times, so we found the process here different than what we're used to. Select the size bowl you'd like, then fill with your veggie and/or noodle choices, add sauces and cooking oils to your taste. Choose your pre-portioned protein at the end of the bar when the chef takes the bowl to cook it up and then pay the cashier. The veggie selection was adequate, and so were the sauces. I'm used to the meats/seafood being offered on the serve yourself bar. The lack of this option was a major fault. The sauce selection was also adequate, but there was only a choice of olive or sesame for cooking oils. The sesame bowl was empty; and who uses olive oil in Asian style cooking? The staff were adequately civil, but only enough to not considered rude. Overall I would describe this place as only adequate and not the greatest value for what you get. Next time I want Mongolian grill, I'll make the drive to Jasmine in Federal Way . Better food,selection,atmosphere and value. read more

What a fun casual dining experience. Mongolian Grill type cooking, appropriately priced. This is not an upscale place but the food is great and there are enough drink options for everyone. (Beer & wine included.) Individually designed dishes. Four sizes of bowls (price varies) are waiting to be filled by you. Vegetables and noodles are arranged buffet style (plastic glove provided for tongs was a nice touch). Only one size of bowl was lined up on the counter for us when we arrived, but luckily it was the one we all wanted. There is a wide variety of sauces to add to your dish both before and after your food is cooked. Also available are seeds and nuts for garnish, and rice if you want it. There are enough protein options offered that there is something for everyone. Only the staff handles the protein after you tell them what you want. If you don't like the food then it is your fault, because you made the choices. We loved it. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly. read more

Ugh, this place is literally so so good. We come here every few months (if we could we would come here every month...) and get a large bowl of noodles. Not once have the ingredients tasted less than fresh or off in any way. Thy offer all you can eat bowls too, if you're really hungry. Me and my family love this place! We go for dinner every couple of months. The bowls are big and will definitely fill you up. They are always clean and keep the noodles and veggies stocked, and they are fresh. There are plenty of sauces to choose from as well, same with the meats. They cook the food in a timely matter and everyone is super nice! My only small tiny almost non existent complaint is that it gets kind of cold in there, I feel like I have to be wearing a jacket inside unless it's the middle of summer. Great food, obviously you get to choose your portions from different size bowls and then you choose what your favorite food you want in the grill. Great selections, and a lot of sauce variety. Not only that, they are real quick with the grilling time. I basically sat down on the chair, chatted for at most 4-5 minutes and they were ready. Granted, it was pretty busy but still fast. Only downside is actually being called if you are not paying attention. I was hungry so when I heard "Food is ready" I was up and on it. But not for a group that was really into their conversation. I understand it may be loud, but you could tune out the "Food is ready" because of them always saying it every minute. I just thought if they got orders by name. It wouldn't be such a hassle, for the cashier to leave his station to walk to the group and get their attention to let them know that their food is done. Overall, can't complain on my visit. Everything is so fresh, and I love that you get HUGE portions here. Totally worth every penny. Although the selection of protein and veggies is less than some of the chain Mongolian grill restaurants such as Genghis Grill, the quality and freshness absolutely makes up for it. Not only do you get your heaping delicious pile of noodles, veggies, and protein cooked to scrumptious order, but you also get 2 generous scoops of white rice to go with it. I've never gone away from this place hungry and always have leftovers. Staff is small yet very friendly, and everything just has that personal touch feel to it. Was looking for a healthy place to eat, that was vegetarian friendly and I have got to say this place is perfect for what I was looking for. Price is amazing, especially considering with how much food you can get and that it has a great selection of food. But, the best part is such a welcoming feeling from the manager/son of the owner. Conveniently located in the heart of Covington we get to taste this little treasure. A family owned business with its own individuality. What makes this place different: Gluten free noodles, spicy noodles, served free with white rice, and so many different amazing sauces to put on before and after. The only downside I have found is that you don't mix your own meat, but they gather it for you and they are small helpings.
