An amazing place for yummy food!!! I'm obsessed with this place!!! This is the only Mongolian grill I have found that I can take my leftovers home. If you get all you an eat you do NOT get to take it home. I get the oversized large bowl so I have lunch the next day. The staff are the sweetest...very customer oriented!!! After trying this place the first time a couple months ago, my husband and I have been back many times! Weve eaten in, and gotten food to go. No complaints about either. We each always get a large bowl, and have plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. The meal comes with one scoop of rice, and its 50 cents for an extra scoop (but really, you dont need an extra scoop). Some reviews seem like people think 50 cents for an extra scoop of rice is too much? What about places that charge 50 cents for an extra slice of cheese on something? Cmon, 50 cents is a deal for a scoop of rice. If you want extra rice, invest in a rice cooker and make extra at home. Weve always been happy with the quality and freshness of ingredients. LOVE that the meat is fresh, and not the frozen slices. The home made peanut sauce as a topper is delicious... as well as the mongolian sauce. We'll be back many times! Wish they had a frequent buyer card or something... the lady at the counter is always pleasant, which is great too. My boyfriend and I come here quite often and get it to go. We have never eaten there but whenever I have gone in, depends on who is working. The younger woman is always nice, doesn't care if you go over a litrle bit with the noodles and always says Hi and makes conversation. However when I get a different lady, wow they scold you like your 6 yrs old. STINGY!!!!!!!!!!!! What all those signs are saying is, I AM CHEAP. The thing I don't understand is when my boyfriend goes in, he never gets charged extra for going over. I cannot believe this restaurant is not flooded with rave reviews, but then it is in Covington. I have eaten here since it opened years ago and it never disappoints me. Once I get it into my head, nothing will do until I satisfy my whining taste buds with some delicious, delicious Iron Grill. The price is great for a bowl heaped high with fresh noodles, vegetables, sauce, and meat. It's easily two meals and the quality is magnificent. The owners are often in the restaurant, too, and they are so friendly and enthusiastic. They always ask me about college and express their joy at seeing me - the fact that they take the trouble to remember details about frequent customers makes a huge difference to the atmosphere. The decor is nothing to shout about, but you'll be so focused on your food you won't notice. There's hidden charges here and there... if you over pile your veggies on a small bowl, the stingy "owner' automatically charge you for the price of big bowl.. . if you want more rice, they charge you extra too... This is a Mongolian BBQ restaurant. I use to manage one when I was a youngster so I am very familiar with them. This one is a family run business and they are very nice. They have different sized bowls with different prices. The larger bowl is only .66 cents more so that's the way to go. They also have all you can eat too. None of these all you can eat BBQs allow you to take home the left overs for obvious reasons. But if you order by the bowl you can take your leftovers home. Yes they do charge more for extra rice, extra meat, or if your a wing nut and stack the bowl so full of food it looks like a skyscraper. We have been going to The Iron Grill for a number of years now. Nice family owned establishment. I'm surprised to see the complaints for the service and "nickle and dime" attitudes. I couldn't disagree more. Yes, it will cost more for more meat or over-filled bowls. There is also an additional $.25/cup sauce, but that is after the first two are free. The place is clean. I absolutely love Iron Grill! This is the first Mongolian Grill I have been to where you're given huge bowls to fill and that doesn't include your meat (they add it for you when they cook it). They have the standard veggies but a few more options for noodles than other places which I love. I drive from Downtown Renton to eat here a few times per month - it's worth it! read more

I love this place. Food is always fresh, the pre-grill sauce selection is amazing. You can have such depth of flavor and really customize what you want in your mongolian. They also have a great noodle selection too. The service is great even though they kind of nickel and dime you on to go sauce or over filled bowls. But it's run by an older couple, everyone has to make money some how. I think these people on here complaining about price don't consider the fact this is a private ma and pa owned place. The two suggestions I could make would be some basic sauce recipes displayed at the sauce bar. I know what I like, but new people stop and stare, they also mess up portions making the flavor to strong or bland. Food is decent, but the service is awful. If there was another Mongolian Grill in this area I would never go here again. They are so worried about you taking too much there are signs all over the place. Just charge an extra $.50 or $1.00 and SHUT UP. Today I wanted my drink in a to-go cup, but you can only get a paper cup if your food is to-go. So I get my food to-go so I can take my ice tea with me. I don't get sauce. I don't get rice. They have now WASTED the fifty cents making me get my food to-go....so I could get a cup. Brilliant!!! And again I'm not happy eating here. The food is passable, but not anywhere near good enough for their (insert bad word here) service. If you want great Mongolian, go to the Jasmine (where Chang's used to be). HATED IT! The owner was extremely rude. I got a large bowl and might have filled it a little too much and he felt the need to repeat himself well over 7 times that "that bowl is too much" and "this never happens, I'm going to have to charge you extra" " you're a difficult customer to deal with". I have been to several different Mongolian type restaurants and this is one of the better ones.. they are friendly and fair priced..

We went here for lunch today, and it was great. We'll definitely be back and here's why: Pros: - Food - Ingredients were fresh and they had a nice selection of veggies and noodles. - Sauces - Instructions were clear! We've been to a few Mongolian places where you have to take a stab at creating your own sauce with sauces that are not labeled or through random guesswork. I love that they have a guide on the wall for mild/spicy sauces. - Very, very friendly service. We were greeted right when we entered and they came up to us to tell us how it all works. They even checked in on us during the meal - excellent service. - Facility is overall clean. Cons: - They dish out the meat when you drop off the bowl, which is something I haven't seen at a Mongolian restaurant. Not a big deal because we got a good amount of chicken in each plate anyway - just different. We'll be back! read more
