I've lived in this area now for just over three years and this is the first time I've tried Lucky chopsticks. They're very close to where I live and I drive past here all the time on my way to other restaurants. I read a couple of the reviews on yelp and thought it was worth giving it a shot. I placed my order online and opted for chicken wings for an appetizer and shrimp fried rice. The wings were done perfectly and we're very generous sized. Most places will give you these little skinny flats and drums. These were huge and definitely worth it. The shrimp fried rice was a very generous portion with many shrimp and was perfectly done. The addition of bean sprouts was great and gave it a nice extra crunch. The person who helped me check out was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. Lucky Chopsticks isn't just a restaurant--it's a Mission: Impossible of flavors. The moment you walk in, you'll feel the need... the need for sweet and sour chicken. Owner Jimmy "Maverick" Johnson runs this joint with the same intensity Tom Cruise runs through every movie, which is to say, at full sprint. The servers move with such precision you'd think they trained at the same bartending school from Cocktail. Watch in awe as they flip plates of kung pao chicken with the same grace Cruise flipped bottles, all while wearing aviator sunglasses indoors (Top Gun policy, no exceptions). Their signature dish, the "Few Good Menu Items You Can Handle," comes with a tableside presentation that involves your server rappelling from the ceiling, just like the CIA vault scene. The dim sum cart performs impossible drifts between tables like it's straight out of Days of Thunder, while the hostess recites the daily specials with the same intensity as Cruise's courtroom speeches in A Few Good Men. The fortune cookies contain actual impossible missions, should you choose to accept them. Last week, mine challenged me to scale the Burj Khalifa with suction gloves, but I settled for their excellent General Tso's chicken instead. Don't miss their "Edge of Tomorrow" happy hour, where if you don't like your first drink, they'll let you relive the moment until you get it right. Their "Jerry Maguire" loyalty program had me at hello, and their "Born on the Fourth of July" fireworks display happens every night, regardless of the date or local ordinances. Five stars. Ordered for Christmas Eve a day prior with confirmation of food order being received from restaurant. Showed up when order was supposed to be ready to find a restaurant full of customers waiting for their orders. Phone was ringing off the hook with employees blatantly ignoring it. Orders per the restaurant were to take at least 1.5 hours longer than initial time given to pick up order and we were expected to wait in the restaurant until they had the time to get to it. No option to go home and have them call you when your food was ready. Incredibly understaffed for the night which should be a huge money maker for them. Staff would not even talk to customers about their orders and brushed off any concerns attempted to be given by customers. Gave up on spending my Christmas Eve in Lucky Star Purgatory waiting for them to "get around" to our order when they had time. Went to McDonalds who had order taken, food ready, and me on my way back home to my family in less than 5 minutes. Had a house full of disappointed people. My condolences to anybody who stuck it out and spent their Christmas Eve in Lucky Star's lobby waiting to hopefully get food. Complete sh*t show. read more

It is totally unacceptable that they keep taking orders even though they obviously cannot keep up with how many they have and instead make all of their customers pay the price. This place was decent for a run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. This was my first visit there and I got food to go for my family and I. I believe the prices are a bit high for Chinese food. I got three dishes and one side of white rice because that does not come with any of the food which I thought was unique for Chinese restaurant as normally they come with white rice. My total was $54 before tip for three dishes and a side of white rice. As for the flavor of food they were decent. My favorite was the orange chicken, my kids really liked the noodles and the sweet-and-sour was pretty bland. Had we eaten there I probably would've sent it back. Even the sauce lacked flavor. They had low staff and seemed to be very busy. Be prepared to wait if you want to eat there! read more

The chicken in my moo goo gai pan was such a disgusting color and texture, I couldn't eat it- it looked like it was raw. The dumplings were extremely dry, doughy, and tasteless. The shrimp fried rice had only about 5 of the tiniest shrimp I've ever seen. We barely ate and threw out the leftovers. What a waste and disappointment on our holiday we will not be back. read more

The name has changed and this is now called "Lucky Chopsticks". This will be our new go-to for Chinese Food in the area! My wife and I came here recently after being disappointed with the declining quality at another local Chinese restaurant. We were impressed with every dish that we ordered! For our first visit we decided to dine-in to gauge the food quality directly. The service that we received was fast and friendly. They were happy to answer all of our questions. The dining area was clean and well maintained. Since this was our firs time, we decided to stick with some of our staple dishes so we could compare with what we get from other restaurants. Their honey walnut prawns are the best I've ever had! The coating on the shrimp is crispy and the sauce is nice and thick. Try them with the lemon juice! The almond fried chicken was delicious. I really liked the fact that the chicken was moist and not dried out like other places. Delicious crust and gravy as well. Their special fried rice was loaded with fresh ingredients and tasted fantastic! The onions and sprouts really added to the textures and flavors in every bite. This place is going downhill. We used to really enjoy our food here. The last couple times have been so disappointing. Ready for some good chinese food? In the Pacific Northwest Chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen, but this evening with my Mom and Sister after a fun but appetite enducing hike through the Skookum Flats we went to Lucky Chopsticks. I had never been, and my mom and sister Hadn't been in for a couple months just because, life. Both were excited for it though, and told me it was one of their favorites! But after this initial experience I can see why! WE walked through the door and were shortly greeted by Judy, who sat is near the window at the front of our restaurant. Plenty of room, nice relaxing music appropriate to the establishment. Judy started us off with cold refreshing water and complementary hot tea. Gave us menus, which were extensive with many options to choose from. My sister and mom went with their favorites and I went with mine. I noticed they have a full bar with numerous mixed drinks which is always good to know. We got a large bowl of wonton soup and an order of steamed dumplings for appetizer, I chose a longtime favorite dish that I had not had here... but always want to try how different chefs prepare it. Orange Beef. We also got an order of vegetable fried rice and chicken & snow pea, my mom's favorite. Within 10 minutes we got our appetizers, and right after, our main course! Delicious won ton soup full of veggies and full bodied broth and flavorful meaty wontons. The steamed dumplings were large pockets, the meat rich and addicting... and the dipping sauce-so full of balanced flavor too! The main course dishes of rice and snowpea were largw portions cooked to order and tasty from start to finish with the snow pea and veggies cooked to bite, crunchy as we like. I was exceedingly happy with my dish, my two go to dishes are usually chicken chop suey or orange beef... one chinese restaurant in Columbus Texas made it for me for my first try and ledt me holding every restaurant to the same standard since... you might know what I'm taking about... so I'm happy to say Lucky Chopsticks won me over! The crispy orange beef was meaty mixed in with some veggies for a little healthy touch, and covered in a rich orange sauce that sings and the dried peels that have a good tangy bite! As a nice touch real orange slices adorn the outer edges of the plate. Check out my photo on Yelp and caption. If anything could have been improved... maybe a few more dumplings.. two for each person goes way too quick, ha! Truthfully though, our waitress, also Judy, was attentive, and detail oriented making sure my sister's water full without ice, and mind filled with. She knew my sister and Moms order before they ordered. And if that doesn't warrant high marks for service, Judy was warm and sincere friendly person who spoke with each of us as longtime friends. I used to love this place. We had dinner tonight and ordered Special Fried Rice, Honey Walnut Prawns (light sauce) and Egg Foo Yung (Sauce on the side). The fried rice was loaded with onions, I showed the waitress the onions and said maybe next time I can order with out as they had more onions than peas. The Prawns were drenched in sauce but we wiped most of it away and told the waitress. We ate it anyways it was an okay meal. My reason for the 1 star was when I paid the bill. Our bill came to a total of $52.34. I didn't want to leave a good tip because our order was wrong and anytime I spoke to the waitress about it she brushed it off. I left a $2.76 tip and told her why. She gave me back my receipt and told me that they require AT LEAST a 10% tip. I was embarrassed because I have never been told that before and ..in front other patrons, so I adjusted the bill to appease her. I asked to do the math for me because that's not what I wanted to leave. She said just put $60.00 for total and it's fine. Wow.. just wow. Ordered a general tso shrimp over the phone, I understand it's not in the Menu but you guys can make substitution. That's what a good restaurant do, they first refused to make it, then I pushed them and said how hard is make shrimp instead of chicken? So they finally made it for me. I also ordered small cup of hot and sour soup, it was okay, just the basic and now the reason I'm giving 2 stars. You have no option of rice? Why should I pay $2.50 for rice for eating a Entree. That's a rip off! No option for a fried rice on the side. You would have to order the whole thing which is like $10. So you guys want me to pay $16.95 for shrimp, $2.50 for rice soup was $2.50 and if I want fried rice I pay another $10. That comes to $35 with tax for take out. I understand things are expensive, they are not that expensive. Restaurant is a total rip off. I would not do a carry out again.
