Pork pad Thai and fried tofu pad Kee Mao

It's ok, nothing great or bad about this place. Just not my cup of tea when it comes to Thai food.

Crispy Garlic Chicken

First time trying under new name and owner. It was the oddest looking crispy garlic chicken I've ever seen. Like a pepper chicken with canned garlic thrown on top.

I like this new owner than the previous one. The menu is not so typical Thai food. A lot of home made dishes. The soup noodles come with fish balls and fish cakes. We noticed the fish cakes are not something I have seen in Seattle. Sure enough, it is home made by the chef. The price may be high but you can tell a long of time put in to make a bowl of noodles. The red curry duck breast is good. The sauce is bold and tasty. I like they offer brown rice as well. They kept the previous decorations with the old school Thai cafe look. Besides the slightly higher price, overall it is a nice place to try something different.

What's left. It was delicious. They have a regular photo on the menu Tom Yum with shrimp

The restaurant is small but the decor is clean and modern. I am not very familiar with Thai cuisine but I like spicy food. I ordered the Tom Yum w shrimp spice level 3.5 stars and it was just right. The temperature of the soup was so hot I had to stir and wait a bit to be able to eat it. I also ordered a side of rice to go with it. Very good sized portions and was cooked nicely done. They don't have fountain drinks so I ended up getting 2 cans of Diet Coke. About the soup, it was spicy yet sweet. I am not sure if that is normal or not. But as I said, I enjoyed it very much. The service was friendly and helpful. There is seating at the location with lots of ways to take your order to go. The servings are very generous!

Unedible muck.

I had the Tom Yum Soup. Compared to Thai Chili in Kent, it was like, well, I can't go there. Let's just say I wish Thai Chili had been open. The flavor of both was incomparable. Covington Thai was sweet, had about three full tablespoons of unedible shrimp scales, and had other unexplainable components. Thai Chili was delicious and savory, and nothing was left over, on the bottom of the bowl.

Roasted Duck and Pork belly! Phenomenal. Not what you expect to see in a strip mall. So good. Will definitely be back

Pork belly and roasted Duck! Phenomenal!! Not what you expect from a strip mall restaurant, it's a million times better.

Food was very flavorful and hot, well-spiced/seasoned. Will return again to try more menu items.

That said, the food didn't quite meet my expectations, especially considering the prices. The pho broth was on the sweeter side, which may be a preference for some, but wasn't my favorite. I also ordered a banh mi sandwich and was disappointed that the bread wasn't warm or toasted. Overall, the ambiance was the highlight of the experience, but I'm not sure I'll be back.

The food is very authentic with all the traditional Vietnamese flavour you expect from a family operated establishment. The grilled pork is juicy and flavourful, the Banh Mi' has a crunchy outside and a fluffy inside with all the great taste you expect from a quality sammy. I ordered the grilled chicken rice dish and loved every bite. The grilled pork spring roll was super fresh and is honestly one of the best I've had in a long time. Give this place a try when you're in the area, focus on the food and you'll be pleasantly surprised how good it is. Note: the bad reviews are from people who consistently bash and trash on Yelp. The best reviews are coming from Yelpers with Vietnamese last names. Who do you trust more when reading a review on Vietnamese food, Karen Smith or Tram Nguyen?

They tasted fresh and delicious as a great way to start the meal. I also ordered a grilled pork banh mi. The sandwich tasted great and had a nice balance of sweet and heat with the jalapeños. It had generous amounts of pork, pickled carrots, cucumbers, cilantro and jalapeños. Together, the flavors came together nicely. It is one of the best ones I've had. The ambiance was modern, nice and clean. They had nice background music playing. The employees that waited on me were nice and friendly. Their service was also good. Looking at the menu, they offer several noodle and rice dishes as well as pho. I like the number options available and look forward to trying other menu items in the future.

Solid 3.5/5. Food…read more(2.5-4/5). We had 4 grilled pork vermicelli with egg rolls, 1 pho tai with beef meatballs, and 1 spring rolls. Vermicelli was a 3.5 as it was fresh and a good serving (4) but the grilled pork was on the cooler side and didn't taste as crisp and fresh off the grill as you'd expect (3). Best part of the pho was the broth as it wasn't too salty like it can be sometimes elsewhere (4). Veggies were super fresh. Sliced beef was previously sliced and the whole chunk was placed in so you had to tease apart the slices from each other which was a little different than my experiences elsewhere. SKIP THE SPRING ROLLS. Picture had three shrimps/roll. Ours had 1/roll on one side with a slice of pork (I think) on the other. Seemed pretty skimpy if you ask me (2.5 at best). Service was good (4). Location was in a small strip mall with a Mexican and Indian place next door. The bars over nearly the entire front storefront were definitely interesting. For an out-of-towner, this part of Kent seems like a Santa Ana/Westminister/Garden Grove of OC, CA kind of an area with different ethnic offerings up and down the street.

These folks probably need another great review like Elon Musk needs an increase in his allowance,…read morebut fairness demands that I not keep silent regarding my enjoyment of this restaurant: THE ROSES: Ample dedicated parking. The staff is gracious, prompt, professional, and - I hope no one objects when I say this - rather attractive. Generous portions and reasonable prices for what you're getting. The food is nothing sort of legendary - bold flavors and dishes have the perfect balance of sweet, heat, savory, and umami. THE THORNS: None significant enough to mention. NEITHER ROSE NOR THORN: It is important to note that this place is insanely popular with the area's Korean community. The restaurant is quite busy Thursday thru Sunday, and significant waits for a table are likely. Monday thru Wednesday is your best time for going and getting a table without a wait. The price of some dishes, like their signature offering, Kalbijjim, might give you a pause ($80+). It is important to keep in mind this is made to order, and one serving can easily serve four regular appetites. If you're just a couple, you're definitely going to be taking this home with you. This is not a bad thing, as Kalbijjim is one of those dishes that is even better the next day and doesn't suffer from reheating. THE VERDICT: Daeho Kalbijjim is extremely popular, and it's not hard to see why. The execute authentic Korean cuisine pretty much flawlessly with efficient and charming service. What else to you want in a restaurant? Highly recommend. Just try not to go on the busy days.

They also had some really tasty banchan that made the meal even better. It's incredibly busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. For a group of four, I'd recommend getting a Kalbijjim and a cold noodle dish to balance out the meal as the meat flavors do get pretty heavy. The Suyuk was another standout, the meat was tender, and the broth had an incredible depth of flavor. As for the cheese on the Kalbijjim, I'd say it's not necessary unless you specifically want the experience. The dish is already delicious without it. Overall, a really great meal with bold flavors, incredibly tender meat, delicious banchan, and great service. Definitely worth a visit!
