We are frequent travelers to Hawaii so we know a little about Poke. Maple Valley is not where you picture getting good Poke but Just poke Maple Valley ranks right up there with even Hawaii Poke. I'm not a big fan of building your own Poke I like it when somebody that knows all the flavor combinations does it for me. I ordered the Spicy Salmon. Big portions, which I always like, and packed full of flavor. So now whether it's the Islands or the PNW I'll enjoy my Poke. read more

Drove here to grab my daughter an Açaí bowl and arrived at 7:30, hours state open until 8pm. Open sign was on when I walked in. One of the associates told me they were out of Açaí "stuff" due to a missed delivery the week prior. Also informed me that the Açaí section of the restaurant closed at 7:30pm. (?) She did not offer an explanation. Her tone was not hostile but certainly not friendly and the feeling I got is they just desperately wanted to get the restaurant closed so they could go home. When I walked out they turned off the "Open" sign, despite still technically being open. The poke bowls were decent [3.5/5]. The fish tasted fresh and the amount of sides to the ratio of rice was satisfactory. The service however was horrible [1/5]. The workers were extremely rude and very impatient. They were not friendly at all. Another thing I notice was they were using disposable paper tray plates to scoop, weigh and mix the poke then toss it away after putting the poke in the bowl with the rice. I find that wasteful and recommend using stainless steel bowls as they can be washed and reuse. read more

Always order at the Maple Valley location because this location has the most awesome Manager who is the sweetest and super LE friendly! She makes my old order of dynamite bowl still despite it no longer available on the menu (I think it's equivalent to the new 'Heat Wave'). This review may as well just be titled Confessions of a Poke Addict. Because, well, poke has become my life this past year. And Just Poke has played a huge role in my obsession. It all started with the Bellingham Just Poke, delivering poke goodness through Uber Eats all last summer (aka 2020, the Summer of Takeout). When I moved to the Eastside I was THRILLED to discover a Just Poke location nearby in Issaquah. Then imagine my delight when I noticed yet another (their newest!) Just Poke in Maple Valley, mere blocks from my parents' house. This, my friends, is a true poke trifecta. Just Poke, I recently learned, is a locally-based mini chain devoted to serving up fresh, tasty poke where you can either order a pre-determined bowl from their menu or (my fave) "Subway-style" where you walk down the line and point to what you'd like. My current go-to is the three-protein bowl, with ahi, spicy ahi and either another dose of ahi *or* creamy scallops. I've tried their seared ahi as well. Then I choose all the toppings and sauces...so many to choose from. From classics like seaweed and furikake to their amazingly delicious crab-with-a-k salad (I usually get an extra scoop), avocado, and crunchy onions. And speaking of sauce...well, theirs are amazing. I love the ginger shoyu and the one with wasabi in it. But I've never had a bad sauce there. Ordering online is easy, too. I can customize my bowl just as I can in the store. And it's always delivered fresh in their signature Just Poke Tiffany-blue bag. Oh and if you're a musabi fan theirs is excellent and a nice snack after you're done gobbling down the poke bowl! The food here is okay. But the person I went with asked for salt on their food and the worker thought no salt was coming out, it was, and just kept shaking it on the food. Ended up with an overly salty bowl that just tasted disgusting. Also, asked if a drink had dairy in it, the worker seemed a little confused and would not give me a straight up answer after I told him I cannot have dairy. So very disappointed in this particular location. We have been fans for years but through other locations. Our experience here in Maple Valley has had 3 orders completely wrong with each. For two of us the price here is significant but not outsized compared to elsewhere. But wrong orders is really frustrating. As a diabetic, I make lots of choices about my base and the toppings and sauces...when those aren't right, my health and blood sugar numbers suffer. My partners base received my toppings and mains while mine had wrong base all together and sauces I didn't request. We haven't purchased this in shop but we have used both delivery and pick up and both were not correct to our chosen preferences. We will be taking a break from this for a while. read more

Stopped by here today after our sons baseball tournament! We live in lacey and where in the area for his game and I am so glad we found this spot heading home. It was really good! Poke was delicious, toppings where fresh thank goodness because I am picky with my Poke. The rice was a little hard but not bad. The sauces and spices are spot on. I ordered the large Spicy Tuna bowl and added a few toppings and and mix-ins. Don't be afraid to add a few things bec the flavors will all work. Their brown rice was cooked perfectly and the spicy tuna was just spicy enough where I could definitely still enjoy the food and didn't scorch my taste buds. Brand new Just Poke just opened in Maple Valley! I was super excited to see this opening here! It's pretty straight forward if you have ever been to this franchise before. It's beautifully done, simple and not overwhelming at all. Beautiful colors, clean, bright and inviting when you walk in. They followed all the covid guidelines. Masks, distancing, and sanitizing. Price wise it's a bit higher for 1 person than I would usually spend on a lunch however, it's fresh fish and raw so I wasn't expecting it to be cheap. I paid with tip about $15-16 with no drink. I must say, every time I come here the Poke' is astounding!! I'll start with the great things first and then, then the critique. The seafood is always fresh and delicious with no fishy taste that I can tell. The veggies are fresh as I always get the greens and zoodles instead of rice. The sauces taste wonderful when mixed with the other ingredients. The staff is always on time with my order when I pick it up and they are very friendly and handle the food magnificently when putting the order together. The store is always clean and sanitary. They Have added tables for dine in now also. These are all the great things I love about the Poke'. Now, the critique. I have been here on many occasions when I had added Miso soup to my order. Today was about the 3rd time they didn't have any. They refunded my money, but I feel like a text message to my phone letting me know they were out would have been helpful. my next concern is about the kimchi they use. It is WAY over fermented and is probably ready for Kimchi Jjigae. I make my own kimchi and it is supposed to be sour tasting after it is done but, not as sour as the kimchi this store has. I attempted to visit the Maple Valley store to place an order to go just before 7pm today (5/8/22). The hours on the door state that you are open until 8pm. When we walked in we were informed they couldn't serve us a to go order because they close at 7pm. We walked in before 7pm and were turned away. I even said it's to go you can't make poke bowls and the girl said no. FYI while writing this someone picked up a to go order after 7:10pm.
