I will be frank: I was doubtful about this place at first because I honestly thought the place was gonna be some Americanized Korean restaurant with little portions served and what not. However, I was actually impressed with the whole menu, the service, and the food! My friend and I were seated quickly because we entered right before lunch rush hour. After that, we were given menus and ordered our food shortly. I was caught by surprise when I saw the Banchan dishes were actually decently looking good! The server and cook here were both ultra nice to me. The restaurant is a wee too dark for my liking. When I try a new food I like to see what I'm eating. I ordered the bibimbop and it came with a bunch of stuff in little platters. Sadly, I didn't care for almost all of it aside from the beef itself. Wanted to try something new and it didn't work out. That's probably my pallet, and nothing to do with the food itself it just tasted like a lot of really weird flavors put together. Service was fast, and the aunty serving us was incredibly kind. They brought out banchan for everyone, and everything was delicious--with free refills available. this is one of my boyfriend and I's favorite place to get lunch. They have great options for lunch plates and serve you banchan as well. Lunch plate comes with yakisoba, rice, veggies and your protein of choice. The poke bowl is yummy, mostly rice if you ask me, and not much of other toppings along with it. Yet it's so yum and fresh! We get the same waitress every time and every time she's nice, and would check up on us from time to time. Usually just 1 server and the kitchen crew, so if it's busy during lunch, now you know. I was excited to try this place just down the hill from our home. But not happy about how the times posted on yelp, is not the same as the restaurant. We were wanting to support this place so we went in for a late lunch. When we walked in we were told that they're about to close, so we couldn't dine in. So we left no biggie. Second time we tried again, but this time we ordered food to go. I love kbbq, korean wings, basically I love Korean food. My husband likes it but not as much as I do. ****This is a 4.5 star review**** I have bookmark this place for a while now and I finally had errands to go down to Kent so decided to check this place out. It's a very unassuming place as it's on a deserted street of downtown Kent and the outside looks like a bar / convenient store ish vibe. The inside also has the bar vibe as there was taps and a counter and maybe 2-3 tables. There was also an upstair but not sure what that is for. All the pictures on Yelp was mostly the bibimbap, or poke or one of the plates, so I decided to try something that is not as popular. Seafood platter: 3 x coconut shrimp, 3 x shrimp tempura, 1 x cod, 1 x crab pattie, and a bunch of fries. $18 this was really good. Everything was fried perfectly and it comes with 3 sauces, a sweet/sour kind of sauce, a soy sauce type sauce and a tartar sauce. Even the sauce was good. 5 piece of jalapeno wings: $9 these wings looks a little small but it's filled with a lot of meat. It's because the bones are very very tiny.this was ok for me, too much sauce, but it still has the subtle crunch. Along these, it came with a small bowl of rice, a plate of salad and 3 banchan dishes: spicy cucumber, kimchi, and potato salad. And it was all refreshing and tasty. I really enjoyed the spicy cucumber The lady was super nice, she checked in on us, asked for our feedback on the food and even offered refills on the banchan. I definitely want to come back and try the bibimbap as there was another table that ordered it and it look soo good.
