This is a good place to go late at night to drink with friends and have some bar food, but I wouldn't recommend it for a random dinner out. The service is average, the inside is super loud even when no one is there because of all the TV screens and music, and the non- bar food leaves something to be desired. Some of the better items are the Tteokbokki and the Kimchi Pajeon. If it's fried or if it's street food, it's probably good here. The rice cakes weren't overcooked and had a solid ratio of tteok to fish cake to egg. The Kimchi Pajeon was super crispy and had both good flavor and spice. Would not recommend this place for the more restaurant menu items like the Seafood Soondubu, which tasted like Shin Ramen and garlic, but for $19. You're better off going basically anywhere else in Federal Way, plus the ambiance makes this a hard spot to have a nice meal at unless you're drunk (and even then, not sure I would love the TVs everywhere). Overall, decent spot for the right kind of night, but if I'm reviewing this as a restaurant, the food, the price, and the feel has to come first. 2 stars.

Cheese tteokbokki

My boyfriend and I came here as we needed to get some late night dinner and saw this spot closes at 2am. We arrived around a little after minute and saw that there was only a few tables taken with plenty of tables and chairs for more customers. The space is pretty large despite how it looks outside. We were greeted and directed to a table while being provided menus and water. My boyfriend decided on the cheese tteokbokki while I got the spicy jjambbong soup. We were told that we receive rice with specific entrees but I wish it was more clear on which ones as we received only one bowl of rice for my entree as it is just the soup without noodles. As we were waiting, I saw on Yelp that they allowed dogs and asked a waitress if we could bring our dogs in and they said as long as it isn't a big dog. I brought in our two medium dogs and the waitresses told me that they were meaning smaller dogs. But they said it was okay just for this time and moved us to a private booth as to avoid any tripping hazards. They even brought out water bowls for dogs and were very kind. We received our banchan first which had quite a nice variety and they were delightfully delicious. Once we got our food, the portions here are huge and the pricing is justified as it is definitely food to be shared among 2-4 people. I wish the jjambong soup was a bit more seasoned and spicy as it was missing that kick and wok hei taste. However, there were plenty of seafood and vegetables inside. My boyfriend has ordered the cheese tteokbokki cause there wasn't a spicy indicator but after eating a good portion of it, he said say that it was spicy (he has a low spice tolerance). Other than that, we were very satisfied with our meal and look forward to coming back to trying out more of their dishes and drinks.

A solid spot for late-night Korean food, though there's room for improvement. We ordered the Galbi and Budae Jjigae, which were decent but not mind-blowing--I'd rate them around a 6.5/10. The flavors were there, but I felt like they could be a bit more refined. The ambiance was okay, but it definitely has potential to be better. Maybe some tweaks to the decor or atmosphere would elevate the experience. That said, the service was excellent--Korean hospitality never disappoints! The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. Overall, it's a good spot if you're craving Korean food late at night, but I'd love to see some improvements in both the food and ambiance. Would I come back? Probably, but I might try other dishes next time!

Food was tasty & good portions for price! Banchans fresh. Highly recommend: Army stew & bulgogi hot pot for a rainy night. Also family feel despite set up as a late night bar spot. It was one of the chefs birthday & staff all gathered to have a family meal together. And shared some extra dishes with us complimentary (Jap chae & another Korean sausage fried in egg).

Came here like 8 pm on a Sunday and it was basically empty. Food came out quickly though but I just thought it was just okay. None of the banchan really stood out to me. Was all pretty typical. The tteokbokki was decent but also didn't really stand out. Also got a kimchi pancake that definitely wasn't as good as other places that I've had. I appreciated that they had tvs all over though so it was pretty fun watching all of the music videos that were playing.

We just found this place, it's such a great late night comfort food spot! Everything was so good and the atmosphere is very chill, definitely coming back again

Full bar, great service, food was amazing and the place was chill and laid back. It's a new place in federal way and we had to try and it didn't disappoint. Truly recommend will definitely go back to try other foods.

Yummy food, full bar, great service. It's a new place and we went for it and we're happily surprised.

I ordered the traditional mix beef bon broth soup with clear noodles and my bf got tofu soup with a side of dumplings. Tofu soup is ordinary! But the sullungtang is really rich and comfort. It was super cold outside so this soup was a perfect balance to it! The dumplings are well seasoned and the kimchi tho, do I need to say anything else? Tastes homemade and authentic! I will come back soon! Oh yeah don't forget to buy a jar of kimchi to bring home! Only $8.99 sooo good

We had ordered a seafood pancake, saw ours be given to another table that ordered later than us. We reminded the waitress once more and saw that one be given to another table as well. We reminded them one last time just to be told "it's coming." At that point, we have been dining in for 45 minutes, finished our soups and just ended up wanting to cancel that order (even though we were looking forward to it). We went up to the cash register and told the waitress to cancel the pajeon but she didn't believe us that it never came and that she had to check our table for herself. Not once were we ever checked up on, just overlooked and ignored... I want to say I like Yi's but I am apprehensive about coming back.

Pricey but delicious !!!…read more The location and the vibe around is just perfect for gathering with your group of friends and family . Not to mentioned, our server was amazing and patient with us since it was my first time. Although, she kinda knew us from the church she still treated us with respect like any other customer without any favoritism or whatesoever. She told me full details of the menu to which is usually ordered or popular at the moment, since I couldn't decide myself. I loved everything she recommended and can't wait to go back again. I specially loved the kalbi and pork tofu combo . We did get the stone bibimpap as well which was amazing !! And the seafood pancake . I think we ended up getting so much food that we ended up just sharing whole just enjoying each others company. My order: ( in the photo) Pork Tofu Soup 돼지고기 순두부 with kalbi combo! And Seafood Pancake 해물파전 The others ordered the half and half chicken and hot Hot-Stone Bi-Bim-Bap 나물돌솥비빔밥 . The side dishes was the best too and I love the kimchi specially. Both times I've been here, it's always been very busy, but I've never had to wait for a table because they have a ton of seating. Even though it's pretty packed here, it's easy to have a conversation. The staff here are also pretty friendly and the food comes out quickly (though I wish the banchan would come out sooner). The food here is probably some of the best Korean food I've had in the greater Seattle area. I can think of maybe one other place that I would put on the same level as here. While I would argue that this is on the pricier end, I think the food quality really makes up for it. The kimchi made in-house is fantastic, and I've actually purchased some outside of the meal to take home to snack on later. I like the kimchi pancake and my go-to bibimbap is fresh and filling. Overall, Seoul Tofu House is a great spot, I wish they had another location somewhere up north. But for now, whenever I'm in the area this is my spot.

My son also showed this waitress (Hispanic lady) online menu from his phone but she wasn't aware so she went in the back to ask someone. She took too long to get back to them, so they left. I found this out when he came home & I was very irritated since I've just talked to them today! Also, I was the one telling my son to go there instead of Palace Korean bbq! I don't know if they just didn't want to serve to bunch of young people or what but they just wasted my son's time! So disappointing since we go here often. Thank goodness they ended up going to UNDERGROUND KITCHEN, which was my 2nd choice for them. My son said they all ate a lot & were very satisfied!!!

Super crispy and crunchy but not a ton of meat a more breading. It felt small for a half a chicken or even a whole chicken. Not sure what size chicken they use for "whole" chicken. Yangnyum was good but the chicken was not coated too well. Top ones barely had any sauce and bottom ones were drenched in sauce. I wish they would toss it in sauce a little more evenly. I do also wish they would include the 1 side radish with each order as for Korean fried chicken place, radishes come with chicken as a standard item. Like ketchup for fries. The online ordering was easy and effortless and was done a few minutes earlier than promised which was great. The employee was nice and I was able to pick up my order right away. Overall, I do like this place and will return but wish they could improve on some stuff like making sure sauce is evenly coated on all sauce based chicken.

I remember when this shop first opened, when the owners were running it themselves (I believe…read morehusband and wife). Back then, customers were treated with care, attention to detail mattered, and the restaurant was clean and well-kept. My visit in 2025 was a great experience. Unfortunately, as of February 2026, that standard is no longer being met. This restaurant is small, so cleanliness should be manageable, yet it did not smell good and did not look clean. The bright lighting that once enhanced the experience now did the opposite, making the dirt on the baseboards, walls, and chairs very noticeable. Standing there waiting for service, I couldn't help but think: if the front looks like this, what does the kitchen look like? I'm writing this review as an update on how Chicko's is doing since the grand opening. If you look at my previous review, you'll see how excited and satisfied I was during my first visit. There are new hours, which isn't an issue. However, the kitchen closes at 9:30 PM. I arrived before 9:30, but there were no employees at the front. I stood there for several minutes with extremely loud music playing and couldn't even call out for help. After waiting, I started taking photos for this review. A few minutes later, at 9:32, an employee came out and told me I could not order because the kitchen had closed at 9:30. This same employee has been here recently and appears to be newer. She is often wearing headphones or looking at her phone. While that's common these days, it doesn't come across as professional or attentive to customers. For context, I'm a regular customer. I eat here and also pick up orders for DoorDash as a side hustle. I come in multiple times a week and have done so consistently since the shop opened. Despite that, I'm treated like a stranger--interactions feel robotic and not genuine. That's disappointing, especially since the business once felt like the owners truly cared. It's also unfortunate that the young man who worked here around October is no longer employed. He treated customers very well, whether they were ordering food or picking up deliveries, and he was consistently kind and professional. If you're only coming for the food, it's still good, and this may still be your spot. But if you're looking to become a regular, expect consistency, and feel confident the restaurant is clean every time, I can't confidently recommend it anymore. At least, it's no longer the spot for me. Because of this, I'll be looking for a new chicken restaurant in Federal Way. I don't support family-owned businesses that lose their focus on cleanliness, service, and care while only chasing profit.

We were also misled in the fact that we thought we could get fried chicken here only to find out they don't have it on their menu anymore. This was during a Friday evening around 6pm, and my friend and I got seated immediately since the restaurant was empty. You've got a lot of tables inside that are relatively clean and seat mostly groups of 4 or so. News in Korean is playing on a TV nearby, and the interior just feels calming with the uniform wooden floors and tables. Menu is limited here though most of it is for their traditional hangover soups. My friend and I wanted some meat dishes so we got both their spicy pork and beef bulgogi on sizzling grills. Both meats came sizzling when brought to our table, though they weren't piping hot from what I remember. Spicy pork was hard to chew at times, and my friend had to spit out one piece because it was too hard. It wasn't too spicy though I think it would have benefited from more spice since the flavor wasn't too strong. The beef bulgogi was both of our favorites, though the color wasn't too appealing and I felt there was a ton of liquid, as if the beef was plated before all the water evaporated from the pan. Service was top-notch for both of us, though. Staff were attentive in answering our questions, grabbing our utensils and getting us water when we asked. I felt this was a one-off visit because we didn't get the dishes this place is more well-known for, so I'll come back again to have their hangover soups instead.

I had too much chicken and side dishes (which they regularly replenished!) to really have much of it, but what I had was clear and tasty. I'm not really in this area much, but I'd recommend it to others! The location is a little odd and tucked away in a closed plaza, but plenty of parking and the food is good and the staff is quick.
