Good place to get Korean food at a quick and casual spot in Renton. The Kimbo Bento box was pretty good, one of the better tasting Kimbap that I have, the sides were good. We got the seafood pancake, which was a little bit below average as it was soggy and had a lot of green onions. Overall, I'll come back

I love their meal set. It was the perfect amount of food and i was quite full. They were very friendly and fast with my food. The place was super cute and small but offer a lot of great tasting and snacks for to go!

Saw great review from Yelp so I came over to try it out. It's a small cozy mom and pop shop. I order the Kim bab bento for lunch. The service was quick. The bento box was a decent size and I like how flavorful the rice cake was. Unfortunately the rice cake sauce spilled over to the kimbab so it got a little soggy but still tasty. I will be back to try other items.

Premium Dosirak with Spicy Pork Ribs - $18

I have been to Ahram Kitchen a couple of times at the time of this review, and I think that for Korean food, especially in the Bellevue area, this place is great! Ahram Kitchen is located in a small shopping plaza, with plenty of parking spaces nearby. I have only done online ordering and pickup, which is usually ready in about 10-25 minutes. Good enough for me personally to run a quick errand and pick my food up. Service has been consistent so far in my online orders, where all requests have been fulfilled. I have ordered the Premium Dosiak a couple of times for $18, and I think that for the amount of food you get for that price, it is pretty solid! For most Korean places on the Eastside, if you want to get a entree or a combo, you could see yourself spending up to at least $25-30, which is very expensive in my opinion. Not here at Ahrams - you can get this collection of food to go for $18! And the flavor is very comforting. The soup when eaten with the banchan and entree are a perfect portion for me, and I think would leave most people comfortably full. As other reviewers have put it, the style of the food here is very home style, which I think is a huge plus as most restaurants tend to amp their flavors to taste good but feel not as good afterwards. I take Ahram Kitchen as a very welcome addition to the Eastside food scene, as most other Korean food options are too inflated in price. The convenience, price, and flavor make this the perfect option to order from if you are feeling like not cooking for the night. I would totally recommend this place if you are in the area!

Food is quite authentic. Not necessarily the best I have ever had or anything but very authentic. Bossam was great, Tteokbokki sucked, spicy pork was good, kimbap was solid. All the banchan dishes tasted homemade. So why am I giving this place a 4 star? It's the fact that you can get a combination of above average banchans (lots of options) and main dishes for a reasonable price. Sure, I can probably make everything I see here. Some dishes - I can probably even make better (my Tteokbokki for example is 10x superior haha). But! 364 out of 365 days, I don't feel like cooking for hours. I love to eat a variety of Korean dishes like these but I just don't have the time or the energy to make them myself. Service and ambiance here are not relevant. I recommend this place if you like authentic Korean dishes that offer homemade feel and variety for under $20 (pretax).

Premium option with bossam $19

Korean food, mostly take out but does have two small tables for dine-in. There was quite a selection on their menu and lots of things looked good. I got the premium option with bossam, came with rice, small soup (good addition), few sides for $19 (one of the higher priced lunch options, some were cheaper). It was more food than I'd eat for a lunch. I liked having all the variety as well. Quality and taste were both good overall. I'd definitely come back to try the other items on menu.

Spicy pork ribs premium dosirak - IG @bougiefoodieboi
Kyle W.

I went here to try their Korean lunch boxes aka dosirak. I ordered the premium dosirak with spicy pork ribs which comes with a selection of 5 different small dishes, rice, and soup. The $3 extra was worth for the soup. The basic vs premium also differs in the meat you get, as they don't overlap. A lot of effort is put into the presentation and packaging of the order, and I love the appeal of variety when it comes to these types of lunch boxes. I only gave a 4 star because the pork ribs were very hard to take out the meat as the meat sticks into the bone, and it was a bit dry. For it being called spicy, it was barely spicy.

I heard good reviews from friends but my own experience was subpar. I am very familiar with Korean food and these lunchboxes did not deliver. We ordered a spicy pork and a spicy chicken. The chicken meat was overcooked and dry. The pork had no sauce and the chicken was swimming in sauce, so much so that it ended up in the sweet pasta grape situation next door. What is with these semi-hard beets too? The sides were terrible. I expected some homemade kimchi (which they do sell as banchan) from other photos but I got 2 starches (potato salad, pasta) which was very disappointing. The portions were small. From previous photos, I can tell that the box compartments was recently changed so there's less sides now. The beet compartment was super shallow like for sauce. I'm not a fan and it wasn't really worth it for me. I'll just go to a real Korean restaurant where I can get a refill on sides and be happy.

Premium bento with bossam

I saw this place from a food blogger I follow and decided to try it since it was close to my dentist :) I ordered online and it was pretty straightforward and pick up was also standard. I do recommend ordering ahead though as they seem to take their time in getting the food ready. They also seem to be training new people as well and was very meticulous in getting the packaging properly. The place has a few tables so it's mainly a take out area. There is also a parking lot. Foodwise: Premium bento with bossam --- this came with 5 sides, rice and soup as well. For $18 portion was decent. The meat was tender and nicely flavored. Some pieces was dry though while other pieces wa fatty and juicy. The sides were fresh and tasty. We also got the marinated squid and the braised beef on the side as well. Both of these were good but it definitely needs rice. It was too flavorful to be eaten on its own. Overall, I would come back on my next dentist visit :)

Beef Bulgogi Dosirak ($15)
Kimmy L.

My family and I got takeout from Ahram Kitchen last week for the first time and were thoroughly impressed by both the quantity and quality of the food! Ahram Kitchen serves 11 different types of Dosirak, which are Korean lunchboxes similar to bento boxes. They serve Basic Dosirak ($15 each) which includes rice, 4 sides, and spicy pork, spicy chicken, beef bulgogi, or braised spicy tofu. They also have Premium Dosirak options ($18 each) which include rice, soup, 5 sides, and Hamburg steak, boiled pork belly, spicy pork ribs, spicy boneless chicken, meat pancake, or sweet & sour tofu. In addition to Dosirak, Ahram offers a variety of ban chan (Korean appetizers), kimchi, kimbap (Korean sushi), bibimbap (Korean rice bowl), and home meal kits (Korean stews and casseroles). My family ordered one each of their Basic Dosirak ($15 each): SPICY PORK, SPICY CHICKEN, BRAISED SPICY TOFU, and BEEF BULGOGI. The SPICY PORK was excellent. Mildly spicy, sweet, and savory. It came with sides of crispy vegetable pancakes, sesame oil kelp, pickled yellow daikon, and potato pieces. Of the sides, the sesame oil kelp was my favorite as it was both savory and umami (as opposed to the usual pickled seaweed salad you get at Costco). I honestly would buy an entire container of it next time I'm there! The SPICY CHICKEN was also great. It looked like it had the same sauce as the pork, but I think it's actually slightly different as it was less sweet than the pork. It came with the same sides as the Spicy Pork Dosirak. The BRAISED SPICY TOFU was tasty, especially for being vegetarian. It came with large chunks of potato and onion, purple rice, and kimchi cucumber. It was also mild in spice. The BEEF BULGOGI was well-marinated and came with fish cake instead of pickled daikon. There were a few pieces of inedible fat, but to be expected given the cut of beef. The sauce was sweet and savory and everything bulgogi should be. Note that Ahram Kitchen only has two tables for seating inside and so it's best for takeout rather than dine-in. The interior is very clean though and they sell merchandise and snacks too. Parking here is easy as they have a shared parking lot with the rest of the strip mall. Service was fantastic. We ordered ahead of time and picked up our order within 20 minutes after placing our order online. They had it all packaged up nicely and the hostess was super nice and friendly. Overall: 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere

They opened up not too long ago. I gave it a try. I ordered the basic bento box. I like that they put a lot of care into making the box. Each side dish offered different flavors. The dumplings were sold out before we got there. The lady there was nice. There aren't a lot of seats inside but it was clean and simple. They have a kiosk to order if you want to see pictures. I'd go again in the future.

Dosirak and Japchae
Nicole H.

Went for lunch with my dad after seeing the reviews and was very impressed with the price and speed of service! Our cashier was very sweet :) You can't find another solid Japchae in this area for $7, that's for sure. Would recommend taking your food to go, as many of the seating options appear to be mostly for waiting or a quick sit-down meal in small groups. The dosirak packaging is very cute, and we were impressed that it could feed 2 people. While waiting we got to look at the banchan display and contemplated grabbing a pre-made frozen meal, which can serve a small family and looked delicious! We'll definitely come back here soon to try more dishes.

Tuan N.

Great concept and tasty execution. Definitely a family run type restaurant in the best way. They staff seem to care about the product and food had an authentic home style taste. The place is unassuming in a strip mall but worth the visit. They served the food in little trays that had all the banchan. They even have home kit meals you can buy and heat up at home. Looking forward to trying that next time.

These folks probably need another great review like Elon Musk needs an increase in his allowance,…read morebut fairness demands that I not keep silent regarding my enjoyment of this restaurant: THE ROSES: Ample dedicated parking. The staff is gracious, prompt, professional, and - I hope no one objects when I say this - rather attractive. Generous portions and reasonable prices for what you're getting. The food is nothing sort of legendary - bold flavors and dishes have the perfect balance of sweet, heat, savory, and umami. THE THORNS: None significant enough to mention. NEITHER ROSE NOR THORN: It is important to note that this place is insanely popular with the area's Korean community. The restaurant is quite busy Thursday thru Sunday, and significant waits for a table are likely. Monday thru Wednesday is your best time for going and getting a table without a wait. The price of some dishes, like their signature offering, Kalbijjim, might give you a pause ($80+). It is important to keep in mind this is made to order, and one serving can easily serve four regular appetites. If you're just a couple, you're definitely going to be taking this home with you. This is not a bad thing, as Kalbijjim is one of those dishes that is even better the next day and doesn't suffer from reheating. THE VERDICT: Daeho Kalbijjim is extremely popular, and it's not hard to see why. The execute authentic Korean cuisine pretty much flawlessly with efficient and charming service. What else to you want in a restaurant? Highly recommend. Just try not to go on the busy days.

The first time I visited, the quality of the meat cuts didn't impress me, and the soups lacked depth of flavor. I'm not talking about needing more salt--the broth itself just tasted flat. When you're paying close to $30 for a bowl of soup, I think it's reasonable to expect a higher level of quality and care to ingredients. The second visit was a mixed experience. To be fair, I was in the wrong. There is a clearly posted policy stating that your entire party must be present before being seated. My group was about seven minutes away, and since I had already checked in on Yelp and there were only two parties ahead of me with no one physically waiting, I asked if I could be seated and order while I waited. I had already been standing inside for about 10 minutes. I was told that although tables were available, seating me ahead of the other parties on the waitlist would be unfair. I understood the reasoning, but she had also asked prior for my order. Her explanation left me confused so i sheepishly said I understood the policy. She already seemed upset by the time i had gotten there. Sometimes we have off days i get that. This place is clearly hit or miss, I've got friends who absolutely swear by it. For me, though, it wasn't anything special and didn't justify the price. If you're looking for Korean food in the area, I've had better experiences with higher-quality dishes elsewhere, especially in Lynnwood.

This was my first time trying JEN Korean BBQ with my family, and I was excited since I'd heard they have several locations across the U.S. We came for dinner, which is about $35 per person for the all-you-can-eat menu, while weekday lunch is around $25 per person, making it a great value if you're looking for AYCE Korean BBQ. They have a great selection of meats, plus plenty of appetizers. The corn cheese was definitely one of my favorites and is always a must-order for me.
