We had two of their bossam platter which sliced boiled pork belly with napa, kimchi radish and sauces. We ordered the one with raw oysters as well. It was interesting making a napa cabbage wrap with both the pork and raw oyster. The Korean in our group said it was authentic. Not the best Korean pork belly I've had, and the oysters definitely has that saltwater flavor, but decent overall. We also go the jeongol hotpot with pork intestine and tripe along with sliced pork. I was looking at dinner places after being at downtown park for the first ever PNW Cake Picnic! I asked my friend if she wanted to go here and it was no hesitation! We arrived a little after 4:30pm when they open on a Saturday! We had the place to ourselves for a bit. It was really nice! We had a really nice server and staff was helpful! I've always wanted to try Army Stew and FINALLY got to here! We had that, classic bossam which is something you have to try! I love this place in Factoria. The food is authentic and remind me of more traditional Korean dishes that one would need to go to Lynnwood or Federal Way to get the same type of comfort food especially nyeongmeon in the summer. This is my second time here and thought it was still pretty good. We came right when they open and there was already a few people there but it wasn't busy. It was pretty chill and laid back. We got: Seafood pancake - still good and love the thin batter and overfilled with seafood. Oyster bossam -- I really want to like this but i think it's a personal preference. There was a lot of raw oysters and I was only able to eat a few before I couldn't eat anymore. It's a texture and flavor that got to me. Otherwise the dish was great, love the tender pork belly. So delicious! We came for lunch on a rainy day, and it wasn't too busy inside so we were able to get seated immediately. Between the three of us we shared the bossam and oh ssam. They first served a couple of banchan - kimchi and tofu, and I was a bit surprised there weren't more. However, the mains we ordered were so good! The bossom was massive and they had a HEAPING pile of radish and I loved how they gave three different sauces. The pork was soft and flavorful, and the napa cabbage wrap was so good with the garlic, jalapeno, radish, and sauces. Can't believe I waited so long to try this place! Check the hours before going, I kept trying to get lunch here on Tuesdays and they're not open then. But my first visit was so good. The food here is AMAZING. We shared the wings, bibimbap, haemul pajeon, and gamjatang jeongol. Highly recommend those dishes! Everything was fresh and flavorful, served hot and very large portions. Not a ton of Korean places serve bossam, so had to come to bori to try their bossam! The restaurant is located in an outdoor plaza so there's plenty of parking. I visited on a weekday evening and it was pretty empty. Ofc we ordered the bossam to share for two people and it was definitely more than enough! They give lots of pork belly and I like that there's variety of super fatty pieces and more meaty pieces. I do wish the cabbage was more cooked, as the chunkier pieces were hard to wrap around the pork. Sauces and sides were good too, but not much variety to the sides. Tables were open but can't direct us to even sit down and have a little water while very patiently waiting 20 min in a tiny entryway? Since our primary reason for visiting was off the table, we decided to order the Korean tofu soup and tteokbokki with cheese, both of which were just okay. We did enjoy the seafood pancake, which had a decent amount of seafood. We also ordered the galbi, which was fine, but we felt the portion was quite small compared to the price. This was a running theme, as we all thought the portions were small compared to the high cost of the items. In terms of side dishes, they only provided two, which felt like a minimal amount compared to what other Korean restaurants offer, especially given the size of our order. They do, however, sell side dishes separately if you wish to purchase more. On the bright side, the service was great, and the workers were very kind. The restaurant is clean, though it is quite small with limited seating. Parking is shared in a huge lot with nearby stores and other restaurants. The bossam was served with pickled radish, napa cabbage, garlic, jalapeños, and three different sauces. It was delicious and a great portion for sharing. We added potato noodles to the gamjatang for $4. The pork was super tender and they were generous with the amount of pork bones in the dish. I wish there were more potatoes or that they were cut into larger chunks instead of thin slices. The broth had good flavor and paired really well with rice. The chicken wings were pretty standard but the flavor could be a bit stronger. I'm really sorry to say that I'm unsatisfied with this restaurant. I've seen it promoted a few times on social media, and knowing this is a fairly new restaurant (open for around a year) I had high hopes. To start off, our server was great. He checked in on us occasionally and is friendly and attentive. Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant is very cozy. I liked the homey style of chairs and the beautiful plates/silverware. The restaurant space is small, but has plenty of seating. My parents and I came at a time where there were barely any customers, so the restaurant felt pretty spacious. We ordered tteokbokki, sundubu-jjigae, bibimbap, and yangnyeom chicken. I was most excited for the tteokbokki, since it's my favorite Korean dish. However, I disappointed by the taste. Even though there was plenty of sauce, somehow, I felt that the flavor was very mild. Maybe I'm too used to strong, complex flavors, so my sense of taste is off. This dish honestly tasted like the sauce was just made of water, gochujang, and some sugar. I felt a little confused, but tried the rest of the food. The bibimbap tasted similarly bland, and the chicken felt a little dry even though it was coated in plenty of sauce. I'm just shocked. Where's the umami flavor? Is there not enough garlic or green onions? Is the salt reduced? I have never eaten Korean food which tasted so... average. The soup was the only dish of the four that tasted great. Overall, the food's alright, everything's cooked well, but it's not impressive. Additionally, I was surprised to be served only two side dishes. This is the fewest amount of side dishes I've had at a Korean restaurant, and both tasted pretty average. Given the great service and atmosphere, I really wanted to love this restaurant. However, the food did not satisfy my cravings, and I didn't have much of an appetite after trying everything out. We ended up bringing back plenty of leftovers, which I'm looking forward to sprucing for my lunch tomorrow. Disappointing experience. Came for Seolleongtang. Was told the Seolleongtang and Kalbi Tang have the same bone broth but the Kalbi Tang has more and better meat. So we got one Seolleong Tang and one Kalbi Tang. The broths were not the same, the Kalbi Tang broth was quite a bit clearer and plainer. The Seolleongtang came with shredded meat, while the Kalbi Tang had big chunks of meat and bone, it was quite a bit bigger but the broth wasn't the same as promised and was a bit tasteless. Furthermore, when we brought our leftover soups home, neither of the broths solidified when refrigerated. That is a key tell-all, because real Seolleongtang broth made from ox bones and rich in collagen and nutrients would congeal when refrigerated. So I highly recommend not ordering their low quality Seolleongtangs. The banchan dishes were fine, I wish they gave you more options as I would've liked to try some of their other sides to see if I wanted to buy some since they sell the banchan dishes in a refrigerated case. I also got the wings with the onion powder on them very unique and different flavor but way too expensive. Restaurant is small with lots of tables packed in. It felt a little stuffy. They were pretty busy but I didn't have to wait. The service was friendly enough. Overall unfortunately the experience was regrettable. I didn't get their well-known dishes but I'd come back here to get it after this visit! This restaurant is closer to the Factoria neighborhood and not very far from Chi Chi and Factoria Mall. I got seated with my friend very quickly as the place was only half-filled. Inside feels very clean and matte especially with their fancy-looking utensils, and the music reminded me of being in a K-drama. My friend and I decided to go simple, and we each got their dolsot bibimbap while sharing a 10-piece yangnyeom chicken. Bibimbap is standard and nothing special though it is a go-to item I almost always get. The stone pot was sizzling like crazy, and it goes even better with their spicy sauce. You even get some banchan with the meal but it's little compared to other restaurants I've been to. The yangnyeom chicken was pretty spicy, and had a tangy taste as well even with the green onions on top. I did want to try their bossam but was slightly deterred by the high prices on them. BORI Korean Restaurant took over the old Chi Mac location in Factoria Loehman's Plaza. It has only been open for a few months but has gained quite the following on social media. The restaurant itself is relatively small and has around a dozen tables or so. Note that most of their tables are tight two-person tables. In the back, they have a cold case of different pre-packaged ban chan (Korean appetizers) that you can grab and go. They are $5 each, but if you buy a certain number of ban chan, they give you a discount. My family came on a cold weeknight evening at 5pm and the restaurant was already full- lesson learned, we need to make a reservation next time regardless of the time or day of the week . We put our name on the waitlist, but their waiting space/entry way is extremely small and consists of a lone two-person bench. With it being so cold and rainy outside, my family squished into the entry way but had to move every time someone walked in the door. About 30 minutes after arriving, we were seated at a table. However, the table was extremely close to the other tables and so we had to be careful getting in and out of our seats. Definitely not a place for the claustrophobic! Since we had lots of time to peruse the menu while we were waiting, we ordered right away. We ordered: S1. BORI SIGNATURE HAEMUL PAJEON (Seafood Pancake) (+$18) - this dish was disappointingly small and didn't have a variety of seafood. It was packed with seafood but was mostly (if not all) just calamari and onion. It lacked crispiness and fluffiness. B2. BIBIM NAENGMYEON (Vegetarian Spicy Cold Buckwheat Noodles with Boiled Egg) (+$19)- this dish was something different that not all Korean restaurants serve. It reminded me of somen (Japanese buckwheat noodles) but with a slightly spicy and sweet sauce (I will note that the sauce is sweeter than it is spicy). It was a refreshing palette cleanser between eating the hot dishes. B6. LA GALBI (Marinated Grilled Beef Short Ribs) (+$25)- the beef was well-marinated, but the portion was small. The onions were also not well-grilled and basically raw/inedible. O2. OH-SAAM (Spicy Calamari) (+$25)- this was the spiciest dish of the dishes we ordered (even though we got mild). They serve this dish sizzling hot on top of a gas burner. For extra cost, you can add noodles to the dish and so we ordered it with potato noodles (+$4). However, the first time they brought it out to us they had forgotten the potato noodles and so we had to return it to the kitchen for them to add it in. The calamari was very fresh and had just the right amount of chew. As far as complimentary sides and ban chan, they only give you three dishes- regular kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and fish cake. They are refillable, but I guess they expect you to buy ban chan out of the cold case if you want more variety. They also have complimentary hot tea which is something that Mama's Kitchen down the street lacks. Service was good, minus the potato noodle mix-up and given how crowded the restaurant was. They probably could use an extra waiter or waitress as our poor waiter was running all over the place. With high prices, small portions, limited complimentary ban chan options, and tight seating, I don't think I will be coming often. I'd rate BORI similar to Mama's Kitchen, but would definitely choose Danji in Issaquah over both. Overall: 3/5 for food, 3/5 for service, 2.5/5 for atmosphere read more

I was in the mood for Korean food one rainy cold night and Bori popped up as a hot new spot right on Factoria Blvd. It's a cute restaurant with a homey atmosphere decked out in a green color scheme. The menu has quite a few great dishes that I like with lots of hot items including soup perfect for this rainy night. We settled on the Bori signature pajeon which was larger than I anticipated and filled with seafood and greens. The other item ordered was the gamja-tang (spicy pork bone soup) that comes on a boiler with huge chunks of meat. If you're not a fan of spice, there is an option for none. Overall I enjoyed the food and it was rather large portions (for a party of 3 we had leftovers). The only two comments I have are that it was a little on the saltier side and only came with 2 ban chan and perhaps would've liked at least 3 or 4. Speaking of ban Chan they also had some pre-packaged to go that you could purchase. Besides the food and ambiance, I was very impressed by their service - Quick and friendly. The waitress arrived and took drink orders, the beer was nice and cold, the sake was nice and hot. The servers were very nice and service was also fast. The down fall was that they did forget our order of bosom, but after we told them the kitchen quickly whipped it up even thought they were already closed for the lunch service. The food was just okay. The soft tofu soup tasted a bit sweet and wasn't spicy enough even though we got the 3 star which was the highest level they offered. We stopped by BORI after the Yelp elite kickoff event in the area. This is a laidback, yet a sophisticated-ish () establishment we've never seen. Must be pretty new since some menu items are not available. Anyhow, we ordered some food to share, and they are way beyond our expectations. Stove pan oh saam was awesome, and so was bibimbap. Oh saam was not too sweet or spicy, just right amount of heat with lots of calamari and pork, and it was steamy hot cooked on the stove pot. Bibimbap was also served in the hot stone pot - yay! Bossam and jeongols, along with lots of their signature dishes looked really good too, but we could not order them in the night we visited. New Korean restaurant in Factoria Village where ChiMac used to be. There are plenty of tables and cute interior design. Unfamiliar with the layout, I did pop my head in a to see if it would accommodate my husband and his wheelchair. I asked if they would be able to move a chair at one of the tables and they said yes so I went to get my husband and when they saw me coming back, they held the door open to assist us. I really appreciated this. And service during our entire meal was exceptional. At the end of our meal, I commented to my husband about how excellent their service was and he absolutely agreed with me. They were friendly, did all the things we needed or didn't know we needed and were not overbearing about it at all. Now onto the food. As soon as I found about this place and saw they had bossam I knew I had to try it. And it did not disappoint. The sauces were delicious, garlic and jalapeños thinly sliced, the radish kimchi was delicious, the Napa cabbage boiled just enough and the star of show was spectacular. The pork belly sliced into the perfect thickness. Meaty and just enough fat to balance out the flavors. It was one of the most delicious bossam I have had in a long while. 6/5 We also ordered the yangnyeom chicken wings. And to all the wingette lovers, you will be happy to know that is all you get. The sauce on the chicken wings was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. It literally had all of us picking our fingers. 6/5 We did also get the jap chae with beef and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of veggies and the addition of wood ear mushrooms. I never had japchae with wood ears and it was delicious. The jap chae was heavy on the sauce side and the noddles just slightly over done. But the dish packed big on flavor. 4/5 The only thing I didn't like was the kimchi that was served with the bossam. The kimchi is definitely made in house and more of a taste that I am not accustomed to with my kimchi. I don't know if it was too heavily seasoned with salted shrimp or something else but that was the only miss for me. I'll definitely be back. New Korean restaurant in Factoria! My buddy and I got the grilled mackerel, soybean paste stew and the spicy rice cakes! The food did not disappoint at all and our cravings we satisfied! My only complaint is that you don't really get the full set of side dishes. We came during the soft opening, so they were still figuring some things out. But they were as helpful as they could be and answered all the questions we had regarding the menu. Everything was all nice and neatly set up. We even had some Korean music playing in the background to really set the mood of the restaurant. Will be back once we're in the area again! read more

Reservations online makes this spot clutch and easy to get your bossam fix (looking at you Modoo). I'm not Korean nor am I a bossam connoisseur, but compared to my recent trip to Korea, this bossam was not bad - which is a positive. Meat was tender, fair amount of cabbage to eat with, plenty of garlic and jalapeños which is always appreciated. The bossam, seafood pancake, and wings (not pictured), fed 5 people so pretty good portion size. There's banchan for sale which we didn't try. The banchan included with the meal was lacking, just Kim chi and seaweed salad. Nothing that stood out for those two items. The seafood pancake had a nice batter and was still crispy, not soggy like most places. A fair amount of seafood too! The wings were just ok, a bit over fried so I would pass on that. Overall a nice spot and a good option to check out, if I could give half stars would probably give it a 3.5. read more

I'm pleasantly surprised to see Factoria starting to become a new hub for Asian food and groceries! With T&T opening recently, Bori is a great addition to the area, and I'm hopeful of it being a good predictor for how the area will continue to grow in the future. I came here for lunch with some friends on NYE, and was seated right away. Replacing Chi Mac, it's a small, but cozy area. On nights when it's busy it'll probably take a while to get seated. Service itself was fine, the food came out quickly and the staff checked on us a few times. My friends and I ordered 3 things for the table to share, and it was more than enough food for all of us! We ordered the Signature Bossam, Signature Pajeon, and the Bulgogi - everything was delicious! The bulgogi was served on a stone pan, and if you wanted, you could get add-ons like potato noodles, rice cakes, or cheese as well! The pajeon was crispy with lots of seafood, but my personal favorite was the bossam. It came with 3 different sauces, napa cabbage, and radish kimchi that I could eat a bowl of on its own. The pork belly was sliced perfectly and had a great texture. I would definitely recommend this dish to anyone that came! If anything, I wish we got the opportunity to try the other banchan that was available as well! We were given kimchi + some other veggies (that were SO good) but they were never refilled. Everything in the banchan counter looked delicious so it would've been great to try those as well. Regardless, I'll definitely be coming back, and would recommend Bori to all my friends! read more
