I had been craving poke and I tried to get it the other night and it did not happen. When my friend who I had dinner plans with suggested poke, I looked up a different place and thanks to Yelp. We made it to Highlands pokey the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and crafted our bowls with precision and was very helpful along the way it was a great meal and now I have my go to Poke place in Issaquah.

Aloha Crunch ($16.99)
Courtney L.

My family stopped by Highlands Poke for an early dinner one weekday evening. I don't frequent poke shops too often, but that night, we were seeking something quick, healthy and wholesome. While I could have customized my own poke bowl, I was overwhelmed by the endless combinations, so I turned straight to their five specials. This included their Salmon Lover, All About Tuna and Garden Bowl, but I went for their Aloha Crunch which included three different proteins with a spicy kick. Their Alice's Special also sounded like a good combination that would be ideal for someone who prefers no spice. ALOHA CRUNCH ($16.99): A base of half brown rice and half spring mix came with tuna, salmon and octopus as the main proteins. Toppings included cucumber, onion, seaweed, small scoop of spicy crab salad, corn, masago, furikake and crispy onion. As a final touch, the bowl was drizzled with medium spicy sauce and Gochujang. I really enjoyed all the ingredients and everything tasted fresh. I rarely eat octopus, so while I preferred the tuna and salmon, it was nice to try something different. Between the creamy crab salad, crunch of the fried onions, pop of the sweet corn and crisp cucumbers, there was a variety of textures in the bowl and the combination of all the flavors complemented each other. The spicy sauces on top added just the right amount of heat for me. Also, other than the Garden Bowl, this was the only one without pickled ginger, so I really appreciated that. As for the portion size, I personally didn't have any complaints about mine. I felt there was a fair amount of fish and the split between greens and rice was perfect. Had the base been all rice, it would have been too heavy for my liking. However, my sister assembled a custom bowl (regular size for $13.99), and she felt that the scoops of fish were skimpy. We were the only customers around 4:30 PM on a Friday and a single employee manned the entire shop. While he was really efficient in creating our bowls, he pretty much just went through the motions with minimal conversation and expression. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here as maybe he was just feeling under the weather that day. Regardless, I could see myself returning again for another Aloha Crunch!

Good serving size with fresh fish! The 2 most important category for a poke shop, and this place has it :) I'm coming back again :) The seating area is limited but it's kept clean. Only 2 bigger tables and tall along window bar seating.

I have been several times, great for a quick yummy lunch. I personally think the portions (as a 14yo girl) are perfect size, a regular is filling, the large is 2 meals. My go-to order is brown rice, cucumber, avocado, crab salad, medium spice level, mango, green onion, cilantro aioli, edamame, sesame seeds, crunchy onions and cilantro. I also feel the price matches the product. I would recommend.

Absolutely delicious- very fresh fish and they make bowls that just explode with flavor! This gives us a healthy option in the Highlands! The owners are so kind! The place is immaculate...which is nice. I think the strong smell of cleaners is a little overwhelming when you walk in, but I wouldn't let that deter you from trying this exceptional place. The food was incredible!!!! I'm so happy to have them in the neighborhood!

It's my second time to Highlands Poke and there is a reason I came back. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, their service is similar to other poke places, but somehow better organized in a way I cannot define, and the choices to make it healthy still taste great. I used to only do poke with white rice. Then I migrated to half white rice and half spring greens. Other poke places, the brown rice didn't look appealing. Here, I get brown rice and spring greens, and next time I'm going to try the kale. It looks great. Service isn't super fast unless you're the only person here, but otoh if you're waiting you can check out all the ingredients and options for a little bit. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately this was a miss for me. The good: lots of topping options with no markup (except avocado $1), fast and friendly service, ample parking. The not so good: the poke scoops are small and even the large with 3 scoops was on the lighter side. The fish is defrosted and sitting in liquid - it doesn't taste the freshest. The sauce was not very flavorful. I ordered half salad and it did not come with dressing. Too much focus on the imitation crab salad. Pricy for what you get at $17. One of the more underwhelming poke bowls I've had.

I'm a big fan of Poke so of course I wanted to check this place out. The fish(I had tuna, salmon, and yellowtail) and shrimp were really fresh. The scallop was just alright. There's nothing wrong with their sauce but they should offer more variety. You can rarely get 3 scoops of fresh protein for $15.99 like this.

Amazing fast service and delicious food. So happy this place opened so close to our house! We definitely will be coming back all summer for delicious and fresh seafood! Thank you!

Spicy everything! Spicy crab spicy ground salmon, spicy ground tuna with spicy sauce and spicy aïoli! Loooove

Really delicious spot in the square islands! I've been a few times since they opened and the employees are friendly and great at suggesting options. I like the variety of toppings. I always wish for bigger scoops of fish though. The environment is always super clean with great music and balloon decorations. The spicy mean salad is a "must try". I think it's a great addition to the Issaquah highlands.

Extremely overpriced! Costs as much as dining in at a sit down restaurant, but this lacks the additional service and ambiance. Not worth it.

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Just get here, it's a place you can't pass up when you hit up Georgetown!

We came on a Wednesday and happened to score a parking spot right in front of the bakery. Once you arrive, get in line immediately--there will be one. The woman taking our order was incredibly peppy and friendly, even while juggling everything: taking in-person orders, answering phones, serving customers, and bagging food. Seriously impressive. All the seats were filled, so we ordered everything to-go. We got the famous crispy ginger chicken, spam musubi, and chicken long rice. I was hoping for oxtail soup and asked about it--she explained they only offer it on certain days and recommended calling early in the morning to check, then getting there quickly because it sells out fast. Can't wait to come back and try it. Back at the hotel, we feasted. The crispy ginger chicken is famous for a reason--so flavorful, perfectly crispy, and somehow even better the next day. The chicken long rice was packed with noodles directly in the soup (not separately) so the broth had mostly soaked into the noodles, but it was still deeply flavorful and comforting. The spam musubi leans on the sweeter side, which is great if that's your thing. Overall, this place is all about heart, hustle, and seriously satisfying Hawaiian comfort food. Come early, expect a line, plan for parking--and you'll be rewarded.

All the staff were pretty chill and nice. Love all their smiles. I got my favorite, Beef Stew. I ordered this often in Lynnwood site, especially when I was sick. Regarless, it's on different location, the taste is the same! So, I'm happy about it. The vibe is completely different than Lynnwood one. This restaurant is darker and guests are way louder. Mostly, university students, I think. I like dim light atmosphere, unfortunately, I can't enjoy it much here. Too loud? Too dark? Or it's just not the right light bulbs, it got me dizzy. It was at night, it made the room even gloomy. Upon returning to the parking lot, the atmosphere is somewhat unsettling. This is particularly true for a woman walking alone. To access the parking lot, I had to walk through the darkness to the back of the building. Unfortunately, due to the narrow parking lot, one car was parked in a manner that blocked the exit way, requiring me to reverse all the way out. Overall fantastic staff, fantastic food, but I may not comeback because the vibe just doesn't suit me. This restaurant will most likely be very busy in the better location and fresh look.

Been going here for several years now - poke has always been solid and the Hawaiian dishes were good not great. But today it was all different - everything was outstanding! Wife got a 2 salmon scoop poke : fish was great as always, but the seasoned potatoes (gamja jorim) she chose as 1 of 3 sides was very good. Dad had the hwae-dupbap (think of it as Korean bibimbap but with poke instead of meat) and the Cho-gochujang sauce was excellent. I had the loco moco and it was better than in the past. Also the banchan with that were fire (seasoned japchae noodles, spicy shredded radish) both better than in the past They sell most of the side dishes as banchan and as a Korean I fully endorse them. I am a huge Korean banchan snob and I will absolutely countersign their cooking I don't know what's going on but like I said - everything tastes better than before.
