I was craving poke and I decided to try Just Poke in Kirkland. I personalized my poke with salmon and ahi tuna as the proteins. The proteins were good, but wasn't great. One of their outstanding sides was their spicy mandarins which was a nice twist in my poke dish. The portioning was okay. I definitely wished they gave more of the protein and crab salad. The service was okay. The servers answered our questions but wasn't that friendly to us. The poke was fast to make. The ambiance is nice. There's some cool posters on the wall. It's clean and organized inside as well.

I love Just Poke, and got to try the Kirkland location recently. I got the regular build your own bowl, with a mix of white ice and organic greens, Spicy Ahi, Shoyu Salmon, with a range of toppings. I loved my poke bowl.

    Food safety rating

Visited "Just Poke" in Kirkland for a quick lunch with a coworker. The poke bowls were just okay. The fish freshness felt average and nothing particularly stood out. The restaurant space seemed a bit cluttered, which took away from the overall vibe. Music was also a little too loud for casual conversation. Decent for a quick bite, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way to revisit. JY review

Delicious and fresh fish. I took off 1 Star because staff occasionally forgets items that are part of the dish. Missing attention to detail matters as we have dietary restrictions. Overall this place offers friendliness and cleanliness so I like that. Indoor and outdoor seating is possible -- a huge plus!

One of my favourite poke spots! It's fresh and delicious. I'd recommend for a sauce combo their spicy mayo with their citrus ponzu, it's my favourite and I can't ever get tired of it! The fish is fresh and tasty, and the prices are worth for their portions. The service is quick and is like a chipotle, so you can get your food as you order. Environment is friendly and greenery, I like their decor! The parking is parallel and not too far of a walk!

The bowls are beautiful and well-assembled, just a tad bit small for the price. I love the variety of toppings (crab salad, spicy crab salad, seaweed salad, masago and pineapple are my favorites) and sauces (truffle aoili! omg!) $13.99 for a regular bowl with two proteins. I chose creamy scallops and Hawaiian Ahi. Ordered online for pickup!

I love poke and it's one of my all-time favorite foods so any reviews I make about poke will always be good. Just Poke is actually a good poke bar. They have an large variety of poke toppings and over all good quality ingredients. The atmosphere is also very structure. The vibe of the shop makes it feel like they want you in and out. You go through the line to get you toppings and then get out. I ordered a Build you own custom bowl. Which I recommend just because you can put everything you like into your bowl. But I will tell you that at every location I've been at they do not add a lot of items so I recommend asking them for a good scoop of "whatever you want" because they will be cheap and stingy and add a little scoop. Overall great poke place and would recommend to anyone in the area of one to check it out!

Just poke is a fantastic quick spot to pop in for take out. Their food is tasty and pretty cheap as far as sushi goes. The amount of options isn't super high but i din't think that is too much of an issue. I for sure recommend ordering online because you can select your options way easier. It is similar to any cafeteria style restaurant in that if you don't already have an order in mind it is easy to get lost in the options.

I took a friend from the SF Bay Area here today for lunch, and she loved it. We both agree the food is very fresh and the portion is generous. We sat at one of their outside tables and enjoyed a surprisingly peaceful noon hour. Highly recommend this place! For more, see my original review which is still valid.

Anyone from Hawai'i try this place yet? I want to know the comparison to see if I should give this place a try.

Not from Hawaii but been to Hawaii many times and I would say the poke is pretty comparable. You do get to customize to your liking which is great.

I got the combo - Hawaiian chicken + karaage requesting extra salad instead of rice, as well as a half order of loco moco. It's nice that there is half order as a lot of Hawaiian restaurants tend to be full orders so it is incredibly hard to try a variety of options if you're solo or in a small group. The Hawaiian chicken and karaage both are juicy and delicious. It's great that the combo is the same price as the standard individual options so I got to try more variety without paying extra. I looked at the reviews and opted to remove the rice and get extra salad which was a good move - their chop chop salad is very delicious with a nice balance of dressing, cheese, and ham. I still had some rice from the loco moco, which was sufficient for me. The loco moco is good - I wished the patty was a bit less tough but the gravy and egg make up for it. Overall, great value and great food. I'd be a regular if I didn't live so far from Kirkland (1 hr drive for food can be challenging in busy schedules)

Mac salad and a coleslaw was also included. They also have an assortment of small sauces to go, ranching from one star and up. I picked the crying tiger sauce, teriyaki and chili oil . This is a hefty mixed plate, enough for two or to have as leftovers for me. The beef is my favorite, seasoned and sauced well. I added the sauces to the huli huli chicken and it was superb, the chicken was moist and tender. I love Hawaiian Mac salad, it's the better type of Mac salads. I really enjoyed their Mac salad and the coleslaw. The coleslaw was a nice palette cleanser amongst the heavy but comforting meal. The coconut cream pie was good. Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Then it was too many staff, not many customers and it was difficult to get service, that has been improved upon. They are nice and attentive when they see you. Service was normal, the wait staff came around and offered more beverage. This time it was still slow period, so what gives it only 3 stars instead of more? It's the fact that the main door the employee use to go into the kitchen to give their orders to the cooks had cob webs on the top of the door.i mean everyone of them walk through that door hundreds of times throughout the week because I could tell it's been there for some time. Where's the food inspector, should be a concern because if it's there in full view of customers and employees, what else is happening as far as cleanliness at Kona Kitchen. I will be there within two or three days and wonder if the cobweb will still be a fixture there... it's something that is annoying because nobody's done anything about it. Amazing.

This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! I live in Everett and so it was going to be a little drive. Nothing crazy but a good jaunt outside of my usual grounds. Upon arrival i noticed it was located on the corner of a small strip mall. Ono Authentic Hawaiian Poke. It looks very unassuming until you open the door. Just the vibes and energy walking in there were seemed like what it might feel debarking the plane when you arrived to the big island. At least that what I gather since I've yet to experience it. But man, this place is small inside but the atmosphere feels big. Great music playing. Packed with patrons. And the poke counter just stacked with deliciousness. I've been here 3 times to get a good idea of the flavors and varieties that have. And even though I have my favorites , everything I have tried is by far incredible. It's fresh. The quality is amazing. And the flavors of each individual selection is stand alone but not overwhelming or smothering to the point you feel you can't taste the fish. It actually accentuates the flavor of each fish and brings about an undercurrent of flavor and subtle umami that I never experienced at any other poke spot. My first visit I had the large spicy Hawaiian tombo. Sided with macaroni salad. And an order of the same but on the bites, or poke bombs. I got my food to go and ate in my car. It was the most beautiful looking poke I've had. And the bite was just scrumptious. The rice was cooked perfectly. Now I always thought it was weird to have warm rice with cold raw fish but I finally figured out why. It just made the dish so much better. My second visit I ordered a regular but decided to get Joes sampler. I had a little bit of everything. Seaweed salad. Cucumber salad. Edamame. Scallops, which turned out to be one of my top favorites. Salmon. Tuna. I highly recommend getting the sampler for f you are undecided but open to trying everything. My last visit was my definite deciding choice in terms of what my go to order will be for future trips. I had the regular but half limu traditional and they don't do scallops on Saturday so I opted for the octopus. I'm not a fan of octopus per se, and more so for the respect of the animal itself versus flavor and texture but it was pretty good. I won't order it again because my go to from here on out will be the traditional limu, scallops, macaroni salad and seaweed salad. Next time you want to try or get poke, head on down to Edmonds and hit this place. You'll be satisfied.
