The rule of thumb is that the best teriyaki in Seattle is the local spot nearest to you and I certainly feel that I got lucky with Teriyaki Plus. I went on a weekday about 30 minutes before closing and waited around 5 minutes for the food. It cost about 15 bucks for the regular chicken teriyaki, but they are super generous - there were 3 layers of chicken. The flavor was solid: solid char and great balance of sweet and savory. The cucumber salad is fresh and tangy, making for a great side dish with the meal. Overall, the meal was delicious, relatively healthy, and solid value. The restaurant itself was very clean; though as others mention, the parking situation could definitely be a bit better, as for some reason half the spots are all reserved for Jack in the Box. read more

The food quantity was immense and the pickled cucumbers were wonderful too.,. struggled though unfortunately with the teriyaki (had the chicken/shrimp combo) which was just too sweet for my liking. The char and smokiness were good but couldn't finish it with it being sweeter than I anticipated. After one visit, I'm happy to add this restaurant into my list of favorite teriyaki restaurants! I stopped by for takeout 30 minutes before they closed. The restaurant is clean, bright, casual with little decoration. It was fairly empty but lots of people coming in and out for takeout. Parking is easy to find. I got the chicken teriyaki and katsu, which comes with a side of cucumber salad and garlic dressing. The salad dressing was really good! The chicken teriyaki was great, the sauce was really good and flavourful! I didn't purchase additional teriyaki sauce but I'll be buying more sauce on the side next time! The katsu was on point. The staff was nice, I had no problem with picking up the order. The portion was generous for the price, I have half of the meal leftover for the next day. I will definitely come back! read more

This is a really good local teriyaki spot I like to go to. I always get takeout and it is a very smooth and seamless experience. So far I have only tried the teriyaki and the yakisoba. I'd say the move is the teriyaki as the portions are huge and it comes with lots of chicken. The taste is of course really good too as the chicken isn't too fatty or dry and has a nice char. It always lasts me multiple meals and one time I got double meat so it lasted me even more meals. One thing I really like about this place in comparison to other teriyaki spots is the fact that they give you a marinated cucumber salad instead of the usual iceberg lettuce with an overly sweet mayo based dressing. The cucumbers are lighter and pair better with the rice and meat. They use a good amount of sauce on the chicken as well but I always like extra sauce for my rice too. The yakisoba is also really flavorful as they use lots of sauce for it as well and it is also a huge portion. It does not come with as much meat as the classic teriyaki w/rice combo though. I do like the mushrooms they add to it which most places don't do. If you want it spicy it does cost a $1 extra and they do close early so be aware if you are getting hungry later that they may not be open as they close at 7:00pm or 7:30pm. In my opinion it is one of the best teriyaki spots around so if you are in the area it is well worth a try! read more

We've been looking for a decent teriyaki takeout place for years. Finally found one here after trying them out a few times. Their chicken is cooked properly. Other places seem like they try to cook it quickly and end up burning the outside and undercooking the inside. Their portions are generous. Portions were pretty good for an average of $15. Once upon a time, teriyaki was provided in this volume for $7-$9, but at least this place didn't go with both shrink-flatiron AND inflation. They increased prices as expected, but respected reasonable portions. So many places have given in and cut both corners now. We were happy with our meals. Chicken was flavorful and not dry or undercooked. We did ask for our meals to be well done, but we do that at all teriyaki places. They break the mold by providing cucumber salad instead of standard iceberg lettuce and dressing. I found the cucumber salad to have a bit too much vinegar for me, but my husband happy with it. I still enjoyed it as it cut the sweetness of the teriyaki sauce, which also happily wants not overly sweet. Additional plus is they actually provide undiluted sriracha sauce. I have come across at least 3 teriyaki establishments that dilute their hot sauces with teriyaki sauce now. To note, this place isn't necessarily a fast eat. As a to go order, it took a little over 20 min to receive or order an early Saturday evening. Parking is limited in front, but if you don't mind parking a bit further behind the complex and a five minute walk, then there's no problem. Space is very clean and looks like it may have been recently renovated or at least repainted. My husband said the restroom was clean. Highly recommend. read more

Tried chicken teriyaki, spicy chicken teriyaki and chicken and beef teriyaki. It was like Japanese fast food. Chicken cooked carelessly making it overcooked but still without any actual char. Bland sauce, the spicy sauce tasted asif they just added couple of other sauces to hot sauce. Huge mountain of rice below the meats, making it seem like a big portion. The chicken teriyaki is superb, with large portions of juicy chicken thighs for a great price ($15). It includes a pickled cucumber side salad, which is definitely a level better than the typical butter lettuce that other places give. They also give a generous portion of well-cooked rice to pair with the beautiful pile of chicken. There's ample seating inside with a TV set to the local news or sporting event. I only recently learned that teriyaki chicken is a big thing in the Seattle area, and wanted to have some for lunch upon arriving on my visit to my sister's new place in Kirkland. My sister and brother in law are still getting settled in and don't know a lot of local businesses yet, but we decided to try Teriyaki Plus after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp. In walking in, we saw that they accept digital payments, which I appreciated, because it shows that the business is willing to adopt technology to make things convenient for customers. The interior of the business was clean and had a good amount of seating area for folks wanting to dine in. We walked in and were very obviously noobs. I immediately started staring at the menu above the counter and trying to figure out what I wanted (we probably should have looked at the menu prior to arriving but my excuse is that I flew in on a 6am flight). We decided to get a number of different items to share, and I asked if the lunch options are available on Saturdays as well. To my surprise, they were! I asked some more noob-y questions like, is the amount of food different in the lunch combo and how many pieces of gyoza does it come with (the answer is 5 pieces). The guy taking the orders (maybe the owner?) answered my questions without getting annoyed with me, which I appreciated. I found the guy to be perfectly polite and I don't understand the reviewers who point out a "rude Korean male." Like did him being Korean make him more rude? Not sure why that description was relevant. We decided to order the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki, Pork Teriyaki, and one lunch special with the Garlic Spicy Chicken. We anticipated very large portions but wanted to try a variety of items and expected to have leftovers. My sister lives pretty close so we got the food to go. We were told it will take 10 minutes but the food came out very fast (maybe closer to 5 mins) and we were on our merry way. The food smelled amazing in the car. When we arrived at the house, we opened up each container, so we could all try some of each. The immediate difference to the eye was that the lunch combo has two scoops of rice in the small divided sections of the container, meat in the large section, and the gyoza on top, whereas the non lunch options had a foil pouch containing the cucumber salad and one scoop of rice in the small sections but more rice under the big heap of meat. I tried the gyoza first. It was still crispy and delicious. I had expected the dumplings to be steamed so it was a nice surprise that they were fried and crispy. Then I made a plate with each of the meats, rice, and cucumber. The spicy chicken teriyaki was my favorite, with the char that I was looking for, tender chicken (I saw someone had inedibly dry chicken--that was not our experience), and a salty sweet sauce that had a nice little kick. The pork teriyaki was also delicious (I am a pork fiend) but I did not notice as much char on the meat and I learned that I prefer the spicy teriyaki over the regular. The garlic spicy chicken gave us a General Tso's chicken vibe because it was breaded, but I think the sauce may have been the same as for the spicy chicken teriyaki. It also had some onions and maybe green bell pepper? Sorry I only took a picture of the spicy chicken teriyaki. I was hungry. We had lots of leftovers and I reheated some of everything for breakfast today and the meat was still tender after the microwave. Highly recommend. read more

Anyone else a Mikey Chen fan? Now that Mikey Chen moved to the Seattle area, specifically, Redmond, he treks to many eastside spots, which I'm always excited to learn about since it's my 'hood. In one of his most recent vlogs, he visited Teriyaki Plus in Kirkland, and raved about the teriyaki, gyoza and garlic sauce. I had to check it out for myself. I visited Teriyaki Plus for lunch on a weekday, where they have lunch specials for only $11, which includes a protein base, gyoza and cucumber salad with steamed rice. I love spicy teriyaki, so ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki lunch special, which didn't take long to get. At this time, they are not offering dine-in during COVID-19. The food was solid. I liked that the gyoza was still crispy even after taking it home, as sometimes with gyoza takeout, it starts to get soggy from the steam. But I was pleased the texture remained intact. The spicy teriyaki chicken was also good, but wished that they hadn't put so much teriyaki sauce on it because the flavor of the chicken and spice was good enough. I didn't even need the additional teriyaki sauce that they give you on the side, though that's nice of them to do. The sauce you really want to try is their garlic sauce, which I learned about on Chen's vlog. It's legit. I even used it with the gyoza instead of the traditional ponzu sauce. They gave me a small side of this, but you can purchase an actual side of the garlic sauce for a bigger amount. I'm always on the hunt for some solid teriyaki, and this one is a great option in Kirkland. Located in a busy business area with other eateries around, parking can get a little cray during the lunch hour, but it's nearby once you get off the 405 exit. Solid teriyaki. read more

Even though we were eating in, the meals came in styrofoam to-go containers. I wish they'd been reusable or cardboard instead. The place is small and crowded with junk. My hubbie's beef teriyaki appeared huge but on further inspection, there was a big pile of rice under the meat in addition to the 2 mounds he could see. Good flavor and texture on the meat just way too much white rice, like 4 cups. Stopped here to get a spicy chicken teriyaki and boy was it awesome. The chicken was very juicy and tender, nicely charred and smoky with delicious teriyaki sauce. The garlic sauce is INCREDIBLE and I really feel it took everything to the next level. The cucumber salad is so refreshing and pairs perfectly with the chicken and rice. The portion size is massive for the price and I honestly couldn't fault the dish. I personally like my food hotter but that was easily fixed by adding some sambal.
