    Sweet and Spicy Garlic Chicken

I AM RELIEVED. I usually drive about 35 mins to just get a great Korean Fried Chicken in Lynnwood. To my surprised, a good one, this teriyaki place test selling their Korean fried chicken from 5-9PM. A proper Korean fried chicken should be flavorful, juicy yet most importantly CRUNCHY. This Korean fried chicken, checked everything in the box. I am relieved, I don't have to drive that far for amazing Korean fried chicken.

Taste is still there but the prices have gone up since last month, lunch special is now over $12 with tax.

Their teriyaki sauce is little salty and too sweet for me so I always order sauce on the side to control the sauce amount. Broccoli beef has more beef than broccoli which is good. Beef and short-rib combo I ordered was very small portion. But their beef or short rib is good for sure. It is not fast teriyaki place but it is okay for me. I do not like soft chicken teriyaki so I order very well done chicken teriyaki. I see some reviews saying their korean food is good, so I'd better try that next time.

I'm a huge fan of Kami Teriyaki. Sometime last year, this place was bought out by different owners and I like it even more now. The food is fresh, made fast, and is enough for me to have another meal the next day. I always see people eating here, no matter the time of day. That's always a good indicator of the quality of food, don't you think? My staples when I order are, of course, chicken teriyaki and fried rice. I've had other things such as the gyoza, yakisoba, and egg flower soup. The Yakisoba is a bit heavy but not greasy, just rich in flavor. If you see any reviews of Kami Teriyaki prior to 2017, then it's based on the former owners. The menu, food, and staff were all rehauled.

Happened to stop in this place when my regular Teriyaki place closed early. I will not be going back to this one as there was several disappointments. Lady at the front counter was very nice but apparently had communication issues. I asked for spicy Katsu and she said no problem. I receive just normal Katsu. I asked if it was chicken breast and she nodded her head... I actually have no clue if it was white or dark meat. Also asked for no salad just rice but still got salad and some weird side soup that was not edible. I ordered two spicy Katsu's and a side order of gyoza. Gyoza were nice and crispy but you could tell the meat quality was just so-so. I got 8 gyoza for $5 but barely any sauce to dip 1 of them... I am sorry but their food is not good enough to go sauceless and I was extremely displeased with the sauce issue. My spicy Katsu was not spicy and they did not put any sauce on them. Instead I got one small tub of sauce for two full portions of katsu. The meat quality was very questionable. Some pieces looked dark others white with chewy parts throughout. I had to bust out random sauce at home to choke it down.

Some of my favorite teriyaki in Kirkland! Not the biggest portions of teriyaki I've had, but the flavors and quality are for sure there.

One of my favorite teriyaki places around the east side, the spicy Katsu is the best I've had and everything else I've had is solid as well.

My friend and I tried the spicy XLB, the chili oil spill dumplings, the mala beef shank dry noodle, and the beef rib noodle soup. Everything was wonderful and exceptionally flavored (especially the two dumplings), except... the beef rib noodle soup that fell pretty short. The rib was much less meat than the shank bowl, and was much smaller/shorter of a rib than shown in the advertised photos which is always a disappointment. It was cooked really nicely tender though, so again sad because it was only a few small bites (and the rib costs $8 more than the shank). The soup was also really lacking in flavor - we both thought it was super bland/watery tasting. Wouldn't rec (unless it's a one off)- just surprising that the other dishes were so flavorful except this one. Also highly rec the fruit sodas (i.e. green grape, passion) because they were delish! They were the perfect amount of sweetness (aka not too sweet).

Their dessert options (mainly dessert XLB) are amazing though, so I honestly wouldn't mind coming here after a meal either. Service isn't nothing to write home about, order via QR at the table and they'll bring food. Not much interaction. Ample parking in the plaza. There's a decent amount of seating but it can get full, so budget time for a wait just in case. Noodles - I love biang biang noodles so may be judgy but these were slightly too hard rather than QQ or chewy. Not bad, but would prefer a bouncier texture than firm. Meat and sauce was tasty, but the beef was a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were tender while others a bit rough. Would've loved a little more protein, but interested in the beef rib option in the future. Pan Fried Dumplings - these were just worse xiaolongbao. They're barely pan fried and then they just stick to the paper in the basket. This also means they run pretty easily. Would stick to ordering XLB. They also don't provide spoons which would be nice for all XLB soup. Taro XLB - star of the show! Definitely snag one of the dessert XLB if not more. They also have red bean and chocolate. Fully filled with a sweet, smooth, and nutty taro paste. These are plentiful and delicious.

I've come for both lunch and dinner, usually shortly after they open, and never had to wait. Just looking at the crowd, you can tell this is an authentic place. As someone who travels to China frequently, this restaurant definitely meets my expectations. The Hunan-style spicy dishes really satisfy my craving for bold heat and flavor. I've tried the stone pot spicy tofu with meatballs, 梅菜扣肉 (braised pork with preserved vegetables), spicy lamb, stone pot black pepper beef, stinky tofu, and the fried oyster mushrooms. I loved all of them. These are the kind of dishes where you can easily finish a big bowl of rice--and still want more even when your belly is already full. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes. Service was prompt, and one small detail really stood out to me: during my first visit, they actually replenished the napkins mid-meal. With spicy food and the inevitable runny nose, that level of thoughtfulness is appreciated!

I'm also a fan of the 沸腾鱼 here (not sure what the English name is), which was one of my favorite dishes from childhood that is really, really hard to find done right outside of the Bay Area. For such an authentic restaurant, I'm also impressed with their high-end decor, quick service, and cleanliness. You definitely wouldn't expect it to be so good walking in! Continues to be one of my regular stops.

Noodle Nine delivers a genuinely authentic dining experience that feels like stepping into a slice…read moreof everyday Asia rather than a polished, commercialized version of it. From the moment you walk in, the cultural atmosphere stands out--many of the patrons are Asian, and on my visit, a few were even dressed in traditional garments, which added a vibrant, lived-in feel to the space. It's the kind of detail you can't manufacture, and it speaks volumes about the restaurant's credibility within the community. The interior itself is fairly average--nothing particularly modern or upscale--but it doesn't detract from the experience. If anything, it keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. There were only two servers handling the floor, and they were clearly stretched thin. Ordering is done digitally, which helps streamline things, but you can still feel the strain during peak times. That said, the food started arriving quickly--our tofu noodle dish came out almost immediately, while the beef dish lagged behind a bit. Presentation leans traditional in a charming way. The plates and chopsticks have that classic, no-frills aesthetic that complements the overall vibe of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food. First, a word of caution: spice levels here are no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, you'll want to dial it down. But if you can handle it, the flavors are absolutely worth it--rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was exceptionally soft, almost silky, and clearly freshly prepared. The noodles matched that texture perfectly--tender, well-cooked, and comforting. Pricing is another strong point. For the quality and portion sizes, it's very reasonable, making it an easy spot to revisit without hesitation. Overall, Nine Noodles is a great pick if you're looking for authentic flavors, a culturally immersive atmosphere, and solid value. It's not about fancy decor or polished service--it's about good, honest food. I'd definitely come back.
