This is actually closer to a 2.5 star. I got a bento box here with katsu chicken and was fairly disappointed. Especially for the price definitely not worth it. The bento box came with katsu and rice, salad, 2 piece of potstickers, 2 piece of shrimp tempura, and 4 pieces of California rolls. The worse thing is probably the California roll. It was soooooo dry and falling apart by the time you pick it up. As for the rest of the items, it was just standard, nothing really special. This place is solid ! I have lived on the Eastside for 6 years and I have been drying to find good Chinese food. FINALLY I have found a spot !!! I order the family plate which included : gyoza, egg rolls, fried rice, yakisoba , chicken teriyaki and 2 Chinese dish entrees ( we chose Mongolian beef and General Tao's chicken). Everything was super tasty - the fried rice was a tad on the bland side -just a tad not enough to dock a star though. I fully recommend this place . Their teriyaki sauce is little salty and too sweet for me so I always order sauce on the side to control the sauce amount. Broccoli beef has more beef than broccoli which is good. Beef and short-rib combo I ordered was very small portion. But their beef or short rib is good for sure. It is not fast teriyaki place but it is okay for me. I'm a huge fan of Kami Teriyaki. Sometime last year, this place was bought out by different owners and I like it even more now. The food is fresh, made fast, and is enough for me to have another meal the next day. I always see people eating here, no matter the time of day. That's always a good indicator of the quality of food, don't you think? My staples when I order are, of course, chicken teriyaki and fried rice. I've had other things such as the gyoza, yakisoba, and egg flower soup. The Yakisoba is a bit heavy but not greasy, just rich in flavor. If you see any reviews of Kami Teriyaki prior to 2017, then it's based on the former owners. The menu, food, and staff were all rehauled. read more

Happened to stop in this place when my regular Teriyaki place closed early. I will not be going back to this one as there was several disappointments. Lady at the front counter was very nice but apparently had communication issues. I asked for spicy Katsu and she said no problem. I receive just normal Katsu. I asked if it was chicken breast and she nodded her head... I actually have no clue if it was white or dark meat. Also asked for no salad just rice but still got salad and some weird side soup that was not edible. I ordered two spicy Katsu's and a side order of gyoza. Gyoza were nice and crispy but you could tell the meat quality was just so-so. I got 8 gyoza for $5 but barely any sauce to dip 1 of them... I am sorry but their food is not good enough to go sauceless and I was extremely displeased with the sauce issue. My spicy Katsu was not spicy and they did not put any sauce on them. Instead I got one small tub of sauce for two full portions of katsu. The meat quality was very questionable. Some pieces looked dark others white with chewy parts throughout. I have been to this place 4 time dues to the convenience. Portions are small and twice I got the wrong food and too lazy and hungry to go back. I think today will be the last time. I tried the bi bim bap since the lady behind the counter looks Korean so I thought might be good. Well that came out a bust. Had some if not most of the vegetables(mushroom, bean sprouts..)you normally see but it was really bland. As I poured the sauce and tried to mix everything, there was a lot of oil at the bottom of the stone pot. The vegetables were bland and very very little meat. On top of that I wasn't ready to pay $14 for this dish but I did. There's another teriyaki place across the street so if I'm in the mood, I'll go there. At least they are cheaper. read more

Pretty typical teriyaki. Food is ok. Large portions. They gave out a lot of rice and even gave me rice to go with my veggie yakisoba. I took it home and made fried rice, which stretched the food out to two big meals for all of us. The veggie yakisoba could have had a lot more veggies. Kami is now under new management and they have expanded their menu to add sushi options. However, the lunch specials they offer have stayed the same, which is a HUGE plus! After a few hours of lazing on the water we came here for dinner. Look at the watch, it's 8:20pm, the hours on the door say they close at 9pm- cool plenty of time. I ordered an order of gyoza, egg rolls, and the spicy chicken teriyaki. At first glance I thought the gyozas' were very small- like 1/2 the size of majority teriyaki restaurants with less than half a container of the dipping sauce. When we asked for a little more, the woman who took our order brought over the bottle, only so SHE could regulate the amount of sauce being squirted in. While we were eating, now roughly 8:30pm a group consisting 5 caucasian boys entered. Each of them ordered an quietly sat down at a table. The woman then proceeded to tell them that they close at 9pm so they all will need to vacate at that time. They all looked at her dumfounded; we did too. In the meanwhile 4 or 5 other people came in, and she didn't say that to anyone else. We and the boys left (separately) at 8:56pm exactly and there were several people still inside eating or picking up orders. I probably won't go back, mostly because the service was very poor, and the spicy chicken was sweet NOT spicy and was coated in a slightly strange near neon reddish color with a brown sauce covering it. I stopped in for lunch and got one of the lunch specials. It's a teriyaki joint in a strip mall, so with my expectations calibrated it came off fine. It's spacious, clean and not too worn down. There are a decent number of menu items, including three lunch specials instead of the more-or-less standard one. I noticed numerous items with Japanese Style Fried Rice after I had already placed my order but that made me wonder. There is free self-serve egg-drop soup while you wait for your meal to arrive. The salad is mostly iceberg lettuce with a tart mayonnaise-based dressing in a separate container. The gyoza was crisp and brown, but not dried out and leathery, and there was plenty of dipping sauce. The spicy chicken wasn't overly spicy. Tastewise, I probably would have been better off with the regular chicken and some chili sauce from the squeeze bottle. Portion sizes were plenty for me. This is where I've always gotten teriyaki. It's close, quick, and consistent. I usually do take out, but have dined in as well (You get much bigger portions if you take out, but the dine-in portions are just about perfect!) I like that I can call in my order, leave my house, and it's ready by the time I get there! Dining in is more casual. You order, get a number, and they bring the food to your table. I know they have specials, and lunch specials I believe, but I usually grab it for dinner. As a vegetarian who eats fish, I go for the prawn or salmon teriyaki. I've also gotten the tofu and vegetable teriyaki they have. All three are great! Lots of rice, good salad and dressing, just great teriyaki! They also give you teriyaki in a container on the side, so that your meal is drowned in teriyaki sauce. You can get extra too. My only complaint is that I once asked for brown rice, and didn't get it. I got over it, but one of these days I'm going to have to see how their brown rice is! read more

Bad Service and Mediocre food. $80 worth of takeout: the chicken is so tough its almost inedible, the beef is nice and tender. Asked for extra sauce, in fact, offered to pay for additional sauce, they refused add any sauce saying "there is enough on the food". Chicken Teriyaki: Pretty run of the mill, tasty. Spicy Chicken: Pretty spicy. I was a little alarmed by the color at first. It is bright pink! I kinda wish there were some vegetables with this one. The prices are good, but the lady always skimps on the sauces, even when we request and pay for extra. That's kind of annoying. Unlike most teriyaki joints, these guys have a fairly pleasant sit down environment with plenty of space and nice bathrooms. They serve you soup while you wait. Large portions of freshly prepared food. Pot stickers are fried and crunchy and quite tasty. These guys aren't scooping stuff out of vats that have been sitting all day, which is a must for good teriyaki. read more
