Scallops are always from Maine, once they had them from Hokkaido and of course the "freakishly huge"shrimp - all wonderful. Also a great selection of shellfish, mussels, clams, and oysters, as well as live crustaceans. There are a lot of accessories for sale as well, like baguette, crackers, dips, and more. They also have the ability to track your purchases with your account/phone number and after certain spend thresholds you get money off of your next purchase. I don't eat any animal proteins other than fin fish. Specifically, cod or similar white fish. After years of trying to stomach grocery store white fish because it was less expensive, I finally broke down and went to Gemini. Quick and friendly service. Got my true cod fillet and headed home. attention all Latin American and Caribbean PNW people Gemini Market has bacalao (salted codfish)!!! On the east coast, this comes a dime a dozen (and cheaper) but on the west coast, this is like striking gold. Staff are friendly and professional, and the layout is solid. I walked in because I was in the area, and they were out so they took my name and number and said they'd call when it came in, and I got a call less than a week later. I really like the packaging too. The layout of the market is nice, and they also have live catches available (lobster, shellfish). There's also fresh meat, cheese and crackers. read more

We went there for a second time. The crab cakes were boring and seemed more like break cakes. I bought the frozen clam chowder and it had hardly any clam and what it had were small and chewy. The rest was just cream with some tiny potatoes. They had a poor selection of fish except salmon but that seems easy to get here in the Seattle area. The staff was very nice and helpful so I will give then praise on that. We went to get some "cool" fish and couldn't find anything. We had gone there once before to get trout to smoke and it was fine so maybe they changed. They will always do fine in Issaquah since they are probably the only fish store and people there like to spend money! :) If anyone know of a different fish store in the Renton or Issaquah area please reply. Great market with fresh crab and fish! I went in with a plan to make crab cakes, roasted potatoes, corn, and cheddar biscuits. I got 1# of the Dungeness lump meat and made 1/4# thick patties. I had all my pantry ingredients at home already but Gemini is stocked for all you seafood and pantry needs such as Old Bay, Panko, sourdough, etc. If you don't have time to make your own crab cakes, Gemini sells pre- made fresh crab cakes as well! While I haven't been to the Issaquah market, I have been to the Gemini Fish Market in Cle Elum, WA. What Great Seafood and yes, it does cost a bit more than say, Fred Meyer, but it's worth it as it's so much Better! And all the dips and spreads to try and then Buy! I used to like this fish monger before the pandemic however, I bought three pieces of crab stuffed sole. I cooked it today and threw up. It tasted and smelled of ammonia. It was expensive & absolutely horrible. I won't be returning. read more

Seattles best crab cake lives here These were HUGE - at least 1/4 lb each, full of crab meat and amazing flavor. Set back into an unassuming strip mall right off I-90, this little market has all of your seafood needs and more. Crackers, cheeses, salmon spreads, oysters, beverages, cold shrimp, whatever you might need for a seafood feast or a fantastic appetizer platter is all here. I spent $30 on three crab cakes and would do it again in a heartbeat. We also got 6 "Freakishly Large Prawns" (according to the sticker on the package) that did not disappoint! I won't buy fish anywhere else at this point. I come in weekly, sometimes twice a week. They always have the freshest seafood, I've never been disappointed. We come in a lot for the shellfish and it can be so hit or miss at places, but not here. They always have incredibly fresh mussels, clams, oysters, etc. We had their crab cakes on xmas eve and they were so crab heavy and delicious. They have an abundance of selection of both frozen and fresh seafood. We ordered the fresh calamari tubes and the ahi skewers. In an effort to support small local businesses during this time, Gemini Fish Market was a must on my list. I had never stopped by before in my lifetime of living in Issaquah, but this will be my new stop for seafood! They have a wonderful variety of fresh seafood options. I went a bit crazy and bought a lot of things to sample. Their crab dip is delicious! Crab cakes make a wonderful meal at home, Lox to go is a nice option for those of us that maybe don't want to cook and need a quick snack. This fish market is amazing!! They have the most gorgeous seafood! I was especially impressed with the scallops and giant prawns. I can't wait to try them! The scallops are as big as my palm! Their dips are tasty too and I like that they have samples so that you can try before buying. I liked the crab dip. All of the fresh and smoked fish selections also look great. We had some whole black cod from here and it was perfect! Definitely recommend checking out their selection. I went in there on a whim after going to my bank. I never noticed that they were tucked away from the street so they are kind of small and hard to spot. But as I was driving out of the bank parking lot I saw a big sign in the window that said "Fresh Clam Chowder & Cioppino" Enough said......It was SO FRESH AND DELISH! The service was excellent too. Gemini Fish Market has a food truck that sits outside Tues-Friday (not sure about weekends, but definitely closed on Monday), and that food truck serves the best fish & chips I've ever had. The fish has been perfectly cooked every time I've been there. It has a really crispy batter (panko crumbs I think), nicely seasoned, and some of the best fries to go with it. The fries taste like they were freshly cut, not previously frozen. The sauces they offer are extensive (maybe 6 or 8). The only downside is that service is slow, but he is cooking your fish "to order", so that 10 minute wait means your fish is served steaming hot & delicious. Call ahead to place your order. I also wish they gave you more fries, the last time I went I got probably 15 fries at the most....seriously. Picture attached. Is there a potato shortage I'm just not aware of? read more

This is one of those places where I'm half-tempted to give it a 2 star review just so the rest of the Yelp-reading bastards won't come in and buy up my Columbia River Spring Salmon and fresh spot prawns before I can get down there. We love this place. Read my other reviews; I have no issues hating on places and don't give out many 5 star reviews. That said, I walk into Gemini and we get killer service and fresh seafood. Can you get cheaper salmon at Costco? Sure. The difference is, when I go to Gemini, I trust that the owner is getting me good, fresh fish. You can read about 30 different varieties of fish being sold as Snapper... and then go to Gemini and see the whole fish before it gets fileted. It's just a different experience. I suppose I'm fortunate to be able to pay an extra $1/lb for some things, but I'll take knowing where my food comes from over a random grocery store assortment ANY time. Add to it that I'm supporting a local business and I'm there at least every other week. read more

After all the good reviews I was excited to visit the store. I had a "living social" coupon for $24 of seafood. So we went to the store, asked for two pounds of the King salmon which had a price of $14.99.lb. (which is $1.00 more than Tims Fish Market in Kirkland) so when I got to the cash register and gave him our coupon, he told me that the price if we use the coupon is $16.99/lb.. Huh!?? Asked him why, and he said that that was the only way they could do it. There is NOTHING in the coupon or on Living Socials website or at the counter or in the window or anywhere that says this. And if I hadnt noticed on the wrapped fish label that the price per pound was $16.99, he never would have told me!! This is clearly a rip off and I was absolutely blown away with his attitude. A Nice small seafood store. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. It was worth it. We bought scallops and some crab legs. The lady at the counter was helpful and gave us some tips on how to prepare them. We followed exactly what she told us and we ended up with a successful meal that evening. First time in and on a hunt for halibut. I got 2 pieces and put salt, pepper, thyme and thinly sliced oranges. Wrapped in parchment paper and baked at 400 degrees for 15. It was perfect. I served with a side of giant crab claws and wilted spinach. Perfection and so fresh. read more

By most standards, this is a fine seafood market - IF you are prudent and active in the choice of your seafood. Having had one good experience there, I sent my girlfriend there on her own to get us some oysters. Being a trusting sole, she left the choice of oysters and their condition to the clerk who helped her. Upon her arriving home 20 minutes later, I found that 7 of 15 oysters were open, dead. and obviously inedible. When oysters are running +/- $2 a piece, that's inexcusable.
