Large poke bowl with Mac salad and avocado upgrade
    Judy B.

Got the large Poke bowl! It had spicy Ahi, Hawaiian ahi, and spicy salmon. I also upgraded and added Avocado! There was spicy Krab, seaweed salad, and they have numerous sauces to mix with your poke bowl. The only thing I wish is they would have spooned everything over the rice, the lady mixed all the pokes and sauces in a bowl together instead of leaving them separate and drizzling sauce over the bowl. I've been to many Poke shops and have never had that done before. Great flavor. I was surprised for ordering the large bowl it wasn't super large, I was able to finish it all which usually I can't finish my poke bowls. I did love the fried jalapeño crunchies they offered, nice little touch. Store was clean, staff was nice

    Shrimp Tempura - 9/10
    Katerina S.

I really enjoyed my poke bowl and the other item items I had purchased. Place was very clean and the girl who served me was really nice I got the following: Miso soup: i give it a 8/10. It had a lot of green onions which I enjoyed very nice and was nice and hot especially in this cold weather. Just enough salt and very tasty. Shrimp tempura: 9/10 this is one of my favorites when I come here. They never disappoint. It always has a nice crisp and the sauce that comes with it is nice and sweet. Pike place bowl: 7/10 fish was nice and fresh. Needed something to make it tasty. Seemed a bit bland. Spam Musubi: 8/10 it was nicely flavored and the rice and spam were cooked perfectly. Overall rating:8/10 Loved all the food and it's a great place to grab a quick lunch if you're wanting something that's quick to make.

Large (back pic) build your own poke bowl & regular size (front pic)

I needed to find a poke a bowl closer to the auburn location & this was the closest with great reviews. It's located in Covington next to a Taekwondo studio. It's a small nook but you can still dine in. We ordered two sizes: large & regular. We chose to build our own. The poke sizes are a big portion as well as generous toppings. The young man that served us was very friendly. He even offered me a taste test of the spicy ahi as I couldn't eat spicy food. Overall this place is great! The service, location and food are all a thumbs up for me. Most people come here for pick up, but we decided to eat here. There's also a clean restroom for customers.

We ordered: Oxtail saimin: good flavor, oxtail was tender, broth was light yet flavorful. I like that it comes with a few veggies. Fiesta plate: 2 protein (brisket and pork belly) with rice, Mac salad, and pickle veggies --- this would have been really good if the brisket was not so tough. It was like jerky style and too tough, especially when it's cut really thick like that. Flavor was good though. My favorite thing was the rice. It was a red rice and soft and flavorful. Pork belly was crispy. Portions was good for the price. People are really nice. Definitely a place to go if you want homey food

My daughter ordered their Chicken Katsu plate and mine was the Kalua Pig plate. My daughter enjoyed the katsu and it was such generous portion. However I didn't enjoy my kalua pork. It had an amazing smokey aroma but the taste was nothing but just salt. The side dishes were very tasty however. At first, I was trying my best to eat it with rice but the salt in the end really got to me. Especially I have high BP, so I decided to let the lady behind the counter know. It was very nice of her to remake it but it was still very salty. By then, I didn't want to eat it anymore. She offered to remake it for the third time as the chef was feeling bad about it. I told her, it's OK. My mouth only tasted salt and I had chucked down so much water including the free drinks she offered. I was already full. My daughter tasted it and said it was OK and told me she would eat my kalua pork and I could have her leftover half of chicken katsu. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. It will be our dinner if we can't find a restaurant open.

My boyfriend said it was alright as it was his first time coming to an L&L. Our friend ordered the saimin and enjoyed it as it was very comforting. The service here was pretty nonexistent, no greeting or asking if we had questions. Once we were ready to order, we walked up to the cashier and she didn't offer anything either. She did repeat our order to ensure it was correct but other than that, nothing else was exchanged. The ambiance here does have island vibes with the decor, table cloth, and the music. But it's just a very average experience for those looking to get some Hawaiian flavors.

Absolutely loved their food and ambiance…read more For food, we got the adobo pork belly (comes with macaroni salad, rice, and vegetables on the side) and the pandan fried chicken (comes with rice and veggies on the side). Pandan was super crispy and rice was soft, not mushy. Adobo was rich in garlic and in smoky and sweet flavor. Love they kept the fat on some adobo pieces. Each dish was just enough for us to finish for breakfast. For drinks, we ordered the calamansi juice and calamansi iced tea. Both taste great. Side notes: You order up front, bring your table number, and sit wherever you like. They will bring you your food. Once youre done, please put your food away in the back, which is located on the left hand side of the deli if youre facing the deli at the entryway. It was busy on a Sunday around noon. A few were available but was filled quickly after about half an hour of us arriving. People tend to spend time here. About an hour if youre just there to have a quick meal, but families were gathering and spending time with no rush which i loved. No waitress or waiter to check on you, just only to bring you your food which took a reasonable 2 minutes for drinks and about 10 - 15 for food. Overall, we definitely recommend!

The ube pancakes were delicious soft, slightly sweet, and definitely a fun treat. Fair warning though, they will leave your teeth a little purple for a bit but honestly worth it. I also got the ube coffee and... YUM. Such a good combo with the pancakes. Overall, everything was solid and full of flavor. I'd definitely come back, especially for that pork sisig. Tita is definitely cooking in the back you can taste it.

I will definitely be coming here again! There are a lot of options for food which can be a little overwhelming. However, it is VERY reasonably priced. $15 for a toast is wild but that's how cafes price things everywhere. However, other cafes smear some avocado on toast and add a tomato and charge you $15, here they give you a whole meal with an egg on top, cucumbers and tomatoes, avocado, and more. It actually feels like it's worth your money. The coffee is good even though it's not too unique. I feel like they used to be a specialty coffee shop before they turned to the crepe/cafe scene. The coffee was very sweet though so I would highly recommend getting it half sweet. The crepe is good, stuffed well and worth the price. It is obviously sweet as well so it's hard to drink a very sweet coffee with a sweet crepe. The barista was kind and helpful with any questions I had when ordering. Since it was our first time there, we weren't familiar with the ordering process or menu. I didn't want to hold up the line trying to decide what to order, so I asked if we could sit down first and look over the menu. She cleaned off a table for us, but then told me I needed to hurry up and order because she didn't want other people getting upset about how long it would take me to decide. I didn't respond and simply waited until we were ready to order, which only took about four minutes. What confused and upset me was that shortly after, a white man came in and she told him he could sit down, take his time, and order whenever he was ready because "it's not busy." The difference in treatment was very noticeable and honestly made me uncomfortable as an African-American woman. Maybe this was a misunderstanding, but the interaction did not sit right with me. I believe every customer should be treated with the same patience and respect, especially first-time customers who are simply trying to understand how the restaurant works.
