Torchy's Tacos - The best queso I've had to date. The drinks are the margaritas on the rocks and neat with extra lime. Cheers! - Tex-Mex Near Me - Katy, Texas

I'm still not 100% sure where the to-go line is! My suggestion which is kind of obvious but particularly important for this location because it's almost always packed... If you're taking to-go, just order online and pick up from the side door. You may also be able to order to-go at the cashier from the side door entrance so you don't have to wait in line. If you do wait in line only to get to-go, place your order then stand by the side door... I think. I'm honestly still confused by the organization of this place, but good god they have great tacos. Of course, I'm a creature of habit, so I found something I love and I'll only order brushfire I have had Baja shrimp before, and it is also delightful. The price is also not unreasonable in my opinion. The place is very popular. I recommend that you NOT order the republican... I think it might be a joke or a hoax. But if you're curious... read more

Food is very good. I got the Monk (breakfast taco) ($3), the Green Chili Pork ($4), and the Pink (Ahi Tuna) ($5). It was a good enough portion of food. The Monk was real good with thick crispy bacon. The Green chili pork was also great. The Tuna was good but a little too well done. It wasnt pink as i expected. The bad part of this place is the wait. It really is bad. We came cause the hype is over but there was still a long line. Come to find out the management only had one register open on a Saturday night with the line going out the door. Poorly managed. I felt sorry for that one girl at the counter. The food is actually better than i expected even with the hype and high expectations. But that wait was really unnecessary. I still recommend this place. read more

I dont know where you found Loan, if it was a dollar store or a convenience store, but she needs to work on her people skills. Maybe the next customer won't appreciate that she turns a normal 30 second transaction in to 3 minutes because she's more interested in a conversation that began 20 feet behind her at the bar (in the middle of me ordering my food) and she rudely continued while I was ordering and never bothered to apologize for her stupidity. She is probably a bartender based off her crass demeanor. read more

Went with a friend for the first time I never been to Torchy's always heard that they were good and today I found out that they are amazing My friend and I shared chips and queso and a taco each they have a big variety of different types on corn or flour tortillas The price is very reasonable the service was exceptional and the food was amazing If you have never been to a Torchy's before be sure to stop and and give them a try read more

Thank you Torchy's for bringing a little piece of Austin to Cinco Ranch!! I would like to start this review with the drinks, not the alcoholic kind which are usually my favorite, but the carbonated kind that come out of the machine. DELICIOUS! Austin brewed and just as unique as Cap City (aka Austin). The drink pink punch w/cactus and the black cherry are da bomb! They also have root beer on tap!! Okay to the tacos..I'm not sure what I can brag about that others haven't so I'll just say that anything you order will be fresh and packed with flavor (although I don't really care for the chicken jerk). The only sad face is that you have to pay for chips and salsa :-( read more

Torchy's Tacos - Try the soda and lemonade!!! Austin made! - Tex-Mex Near Me - Katy, Texas

It's a fun, cool looking restaurant. We started off with the green chili queso and chips. It was really good and I was impressed with this new version of chili con queso. If you judge a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant by the chips and salsa, then it's a really good first impression. However, when our entrees arrived, we were in for a big disappointment. I had ordered the Republican taco. It was jalapeño sausage on a tortilla with poco de gallo and cheese with a cilantro ranch sauce. The food was cold. The sausage tasted store-bought. The tortilla was absolutely store-bought. I only had two bites and could not eat anymore. My friend had ordered the Trailer Park taco which just a little piece of fried chicken with pico on a tortilla. I don't think any of this food was made from scratch. It was a McDonalds level of quality. I've heard so many good things about Torchy's over the last few years. This was my first time to try Torchy's and I don't think I will be back. One thing they do have going for them is their service. The people who worked there all seemed nice and intelligent. Good service, but that food was not good. read more

Consistently good tacos! I got the Crossroads, Brushfire, and Democrat and they were all good. Tacos were huge so don't get excited and order too much! I couldn't finish mine.. my boyfriend got the same tacos plus the Baja Shrimp and said that was his favorite. Also, get the green chile quest dip! You'll thank me later! read more

Great food, but the service stinks! They really need to get it together there especially because the place stays constantly packed. No one has been rude, but they all act like they have no idea what's going on and don't all have knowledge of the menu. Today for example we got up to order and asked what veggies come in the veggie burrito and they didn't know. We asked for a taco with potatoes but they were out. Asked for guacamole and they were out. What most annoyed me was that I repeated (twice) our order back to the person at the register and they didn't put in our chips and queso. We waited and waited for it and when we finally asked, it was "you didn't order any." Frustrating. I want to keep coming back because their food is good but maybe I'll wait until the newness wears off and they can fix the areas they are lacking in. read more

This is the second time that I've gotten tacos to go and they were cold! I phoned in an order at 4:14, picked up at 4:25. Opened the taco which contains FRIED shrimp and it is cold. Why are y'all giving out cold food? Fried food stays hot a long time and no other Torchy's has ever given me a cold ass taco. Do better. read more

This is an nice authentic Mexican place in Katy. Their ingredients taste like they were literally imported from Mexico yesterday. I ordered their main Burrito with tortilla chips and a soda. Their fountain drink selection was strange. Gone were the usual "coke, sprite and sunkist options. Instead they have "mexican soda, mexican lime and other weird mexican names." The "mexican soda" option tasted like Coke, so I went with that. One last thing... DO NOT GO ON THE WEEKENDS. This place gets unbelievably packed for a small taco joint. Line goes literally goes out the door. Try going during weekdays before 7pm. You can sit outside by the lake and enjoy the beautiful sunset read more

Went here today because it's a go-to whenever I'm in Texas. The corn tortilla was soggy and falling apart. Not too sure about the consistency of the tortilla. --- I had the democrat. The barbecola was good, the soggy tortilla messed it up though. I ended up using my chips to scoop up the inside of the taco pretty much. We shared the queso which is pretty much fool-proof and of course, I bought bottles of the Diablo to bring back home to Cali with me along with another Torchy's shirt LOL read more

Torchy's Tacos - Front of the restaurant.. Beware: PARKING is a headache - Tex-Mex Near Me - Katy, Texas

Th queso and chips are good and the tacos. They've gotten cocky as they've grown and opened more stores. Got rid of a couple of classic faves like the little devil (for kids), the kids loved it. And got rid of the mango margarita. It was my all-time favorite marg anywhere. They just quit making it and won't say why. ‍ read more

I wish Torchy's Tacos would come to new Orleans! Not that we need another chain restaurant in New Orleans, but the tacos are pretty darn good! We got a whole bunch of different tacos and we loved all of them. I do kind of wish I could have tried a couple different menu items, but time did not allow for it. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, it was fun and inviting which I was pleasantly surprised to find. One thing I just had to laugh at was the margarita they served me. It was tiny and expensive, but I know I'm super spoiled with alcoholic beverages by living in New Orleans so I can't even be mad about it. The Asian lady never wants to do a crib side order. I called in an order and told her i was crib side. She check my name and told me it would be out. 10 minutes later i decided to walk in and ask about my order. She said it wasn't ready. I asked for a refund and out of nowhere the guy comes from the back and my order was there and ready the entire time. This lady has very bad customer services. Brianna I think it's her name. We were regulars here and have never been so badly treated. So uncomfortable, I don't think I'm coming back with the family, nor coming back with my friends after work. She just ruined my Sunday with the family. All started when we were on the line, I was bringing my sister and her family who is new in Houston, they were taking their time to decide what they wanted and there was no one behind us, apparently now you can't take your time to decide on the menu without getting rudely asked for the next in line. Very impolite. I asked her to bring down her attitude a little bit, and I think I made her even angrier. She was rude while taking our order and THREW the receipt and the pen at us. I don't even have the stomach to eat my food now thanks to her attitude and mistreatment towards us. read more

At lunch here. I like the taste and the price is good. Atmosphere is what I expect. However, that evening before eating again, I had to symptoms of eating bad food: nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. This was the only place and food I ate during the last 24 hours that was different than what and where my wife ate. I guess food for any restaurant can make a person sick once in a while so I am chalking it up to a bad day rather than an ongoing problem. I never got sick here before. I likely will go back. Had I not become sick I would rate it 4 in comparison with other Toco fast food places. read more

I really hate to write this review as I am a huge Torchy's lover. Come here every time I'm in town, at least twice a month. But their to go set up during COVID shut down is abysmal. Literally the worst I've ever seen. I ordered at 7pm, they said 7:45 pick up. At 8:15 I finally drove away as they had a line out the door and couldn't tell me when it would be coming. 27 million people just joined the unemployment line and people are trying to spend money here. They owe it to their teams to figure this out. They should be embarrassed by their ineptitude. Don't bother ordering here. Go to a restaurant that actually cares. read more

These tacos are decently priced ($3.50-$4.50 each) and ok sized. Nice outdoor seating and shopping venue. Place was jumping on a Saturday night - 20 min wait to order. Food was served 5-10 mins later. The Crossroads (Brisket) taco rocked, with the Mr. Pink (Tuna) taco a close second. The Pork taco was meh. Didn't try any drinks, but their margaritas looked ok & were only $5.00. Maybe next time... read more

This place is quite excellent. I am directing my comments however to the La Centera location as I understand there are other Torchy's elsewhere. Stopped by Torchy's after walking around La Centerra. After hearing all the hype from my friends, I couldn't wait to try it! Overall, the ambience is fun and quirky (with devil-inspired decor), the service is friendly, and the food is decently yummy, but not mindblowing. I got two tacos, the Democrat and the Brushfire, along with chips and green chile queso, which was definitely enough to fill me up. The barbacoa in the Democrat was a little dry, and the Brushfire was too salty, in my opinion. The best part of my meal was definitely the chips & queso - couldn't get enough! I won't go out of my way to come back here, but if I pass by again, I want to try their breakfast tacos! read more

We usually enjoy torchys but this location appears to have systematic issues. turned up to the restaurant 30 minutes after placing order and it wasn't ready. That happens. I asked the lady behind the counter if she could check to see when it would be ready and was simply told "no". I explained that I was going to be late for a 2pm meeting and that I might have to leave soon, and was told "that's your choice". horrible service, extremely rude and unhelpful. and last time we ordered pickup from this location, the food was very late and was cold. terrible experience, will not be returning however much our kids enjoy the tacos read more

I have been to several Torchy's locations. Their tacos are really good. My favorites are the chicken fajita taco, the Baja shrimp taco, the brushfire, and the trashy trailer park. They also have a changing "taco of the month" that is usually pretty good. Their queso is good--it comes with nice chunks of avocado in it. I don't like their sodas, though. So I just get a beer or a water. They do have a good variety of sauces to choose from. read more

I've heard so much about this place and thought my brothers and I would finally try it out! Let me just say if you don't have patience, don't even bother coming here. The line here is CRAZY long! Good tacos! This is not your normal taco joint... They have a creative taco menu with lots of original choices. This was my first visit to any Torchys Taco and will definitely be back. I was there after the lunch crowd so didn't have to wait in line. But BEWARE... There can be a long wait during peak hours and weekends from what I have seen! I went with the Fajita beef taco, always a safe bet anywhere you go. It didn't disappoint but wasn't the very best either. Also tried the Democrat that was jalapeño sausage with lots of cheese, tomatoes and onions. Very tasty with a slight kick to it. Then finished off with the Republican that consisted of Barbacoa, onions, cilantro, cheese and a slice of avocado. By this time I was pretty full and was less satisfied. It was good too but maybe would have enjoyed it more if I ate it first. I think it was either $3.25 or $4.00 but had enough meat to make 2 tacos so I feel it was priced fair! I may have gotten the ingredients mixed up between the Democrat and Republican so I am sorry if I did. Also had guac and chips that were good. I will surely be back in the future to try some of their other interesting creations. My daughter said her shrimp tacos were good too. Maybe I'll get me some of those next time... So happy to have new food places coming in to La Centerra!!! read more

I love going to this location versus the one at Rice Village mainly because it's closer. Another advantage this location has is the size of their facility. They have a bigger space and more seating area. I love their queso dip. I can eat it anytime and I would and could dip anything on it. I'd even buy a pint or 2 of their queso to bring at parties for potlucks. Their prices are reasonable and the food is great. I've tried the Mr. Orange and I loved it. It was spicy and I'm not one to eat spicy food very well but I finished my order. My friend got the Mr. Pink and she loved it too. She also got the Trailer Park and she said that was her favorite. They have several local beers available, but they have a sparce selection. I wish they'd expand on their beer selections a bit. They do have margaritas as well is different flavors. I haven't tried any of them yet. But the next time I go, I'll definitely make sure to tey one. read more

Pretty good tacos. $4-5 per taco so they're not the cheapest but they're tasty. Alabama shake- cornmeal crushed catfish. this was a newer item, however my hubby didn't like it. Batter is good, but the fish tasted fishy. Democrat- shredded beef barbacoa. This was good and not dry! Enough protein to actually split between the 2 corn tortillas, so it was a meal for me! Republican- grilled jalapeño sausage. Hubby really liked it. The flavor is really good despite the lack of "snap" to the sausage. Green chile queso and chips- very good! Wish it came out hotter, but the consistency and flavor are on point. I like the guac in it. It didnt seem spicy to us though. Gets pretty busy so be patient. read more

I loooove Torchy's! However, they have REALLY dropped the ball this time!! DO NOT PRE-ORDER before they open at the Katy- Cinco Ranch location!! I placed my order before 9am, and my order was supposed to be done at 10:20 am. I arrived at 10:35 am giving an extra 15 minutes to prepare my order. It is now 11:05 am and I'm JUST getting my order. I don't complain much, but I am pissed because people arriving at 10:35 am when I arrived placed their order and left 10 min or so later!!! Like what type of system is this???! My pre-order should have been top priority. This has been THE WORST experience I have ever had and I go to a couple of Torchy's Taco locations a few times a week, but this was not cool! I requested a manager, Adrian, who took forever to come out, and he stated that online orders don't show up in order all the time. if that's the case...with how successful Torchys is they need to fix this!!
