Here's a followup. I contacted my credit card company, and they followed up with Torchy's. Apparently they did not get any feedback from them so they found in my favor and removed the overcharge from my account. I went back recently and asked a server the name of the server that gave himself the fraudulent gratuity. I wrote a note to him asking him how such a tip ended up on my credit card. No response from him yet. The food and drink is of good quality which is why I continue to go. If you sit at the bar, be prepared to be ignored and make sure the bartender gets your order right (and your bill). read more

Just left the drive through a little while ago. Ordered two trailer parks trashy and a democrat. The girl that took my order was very pleasant and my order came out very quickly, however my food that I received was incorrect and was really not the quality I usually receive from these guys. The girl confirmed my order at the window that my trailer parks were supposed to be trashy, my receipt said it as well but I just got home and they're not. This is really disappointing as I always get them that way and a little confusing given that the girl confirmed with me what they were and my order was still incorrect. I Don't have enough time to go back so now I'm stuck with 3 tacos I paid almost 20 dollars for that are not good and 2/3 are incorrect. Do better guys :/ read more

Do not go to this Torchy's!!! One of the cooks stuck a huge wad of chewed gum in the bottom of my tacos. It made me sick. All they did was say sorry and refund my tacos. They did not care at all. Let's be honest. I don't expect the best from Torchy's. It's close and I wanted tacos so it's what we went with. Ordered online and we were there right away to pick it up. The food did not sit long before we ate it. Yet, the food was cold and dry. The meat was so dry I had to take a drink with every bite to get it down. The corn tortillas looked and tasted as if they were not heated up. Not to mention the lack of toppings that are suppose to be in the taco with the meat. I feel like Taco Bell could've done a better job. Like I said, I don't expect the best from Torchy's but this was terrible! This franchise has seen better days. If I could give zero stars I would. I am normally impressed by Torchys Taco. I have visited many in Texas including Fort Worth, League City, Austin, and The Woodlands and at each of these locations they were busy, but were able to help there customers and get orders out quickly. This location is ran by teenagers, and not a adult in sight except at the bar. Our visit started out with ordering our meal. We ordered Tacos for me and my husband along with queso and chips. We sat there for 30 minutes waiting on our queso, and saw many customers that arrived after us get their queso. We asked where our queso was and at first we were told they ran out of chips, but we still saw queso and chips being brought out from the kitchen. We waited a few more minutes then asked another food runner, this time we were greeted with rolled eyes. We then received our tacos, but still no queso. FINALLY a young man came around and ask did y'all have queso? We responded and he FINALLY brought us queso. While waiting I observed the casher leaving the front to go and talk to a friend at a table, then one of the food runners left to go hangout with someone at the bar and bring them food. I would stay away from this place until they can get better customers service. read more

12/29/21 @10am Went by Torchys Tacos this morning and was the first car in line. Ordered the tacos & paid. Waited at the window as no other cars were in line. After 14 minutes I honked my horn and a lady came to the window, I askd why for the long wait and she said she worked the bar area but would ck. She turned to the right and there was the order, no one had bothered to open the window and deliver the order. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE OF MISMANAGEMENT AT THIS LOCATION. The best salad I've ever had. Was served with mixed salad greens. Included in salad was grilled corn, pistachios, pumpkin seeds, Red bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and a Vinaigrette dressing that was light that added bursts of flavor to the salad. New place in the 336 South Loop - chain restaurant. I stopped in to grab a few tacos to go and waited a bit. It's not a fast food restaurant - you order at the counter and sit with a number (they bring you the food). As I sat and waited for my food I thought it would be better if they had benches along the wall where you enter so you could wait there - rather than taking up a table in the perimeter of the dining area (like I did with others). The bar was hopping and I thought 'maybe I will get a beer', but didn't. Next time I'll order from the App and not have to wait. I will definitely come back to sit and eat there next time, but will warn you . . . The place is loud (music) and to me that was not a good thing. You see the bar is not separate - kind of like right there in with all the tables so the vibe is bar style loud music in the dining room area. Ok so not planned out perfectly but GREAT TACOS! I used to love torchy's tacos but I recently went in there and got scamed. My food tab was 27.50 but when it cleared my bank it was around 57 dollars. I went in there two days later to talk with the manager. Talk to a guy who took my ticket and wrote my information. Told me they would call me. No one did. I called back that evening and talked to the assistant manager and she told me someone will be calling me from corporate and to dispute it with my bank. Never heard anything from them after this. Went there for lunch. My 1st Time in any Torchys. Place was towards end of lunch rush, but still pretty busy. I sat at the bar. Told them it was my first time there so the bartender (tall black man) explained the menu to me mostly. I was still confused about the chips and salsa. Didn't realize they weren't "gratis"... extra $5.99 on my bill, but what the heck. It was tasty. Got the brisket and the steak fajitas. This place may be too cool for Conroe. My wife and I ate here over the weekend. We love Torchy's and are so happy they have one close to home now. They are doing a big business and smoothing out after opening. We had all of our apps and I guess the tacos were taking longer than they would have liked , so two employees came by to say this is too long and we apologize. We did not ask and where fine with the timing but they are all over trying to be perfect. The tacos and queso are excellent as they are at all the locations. I thought my service and food were as good as it gets. I cant wait to go back next weekend. read more
