Terrible service. I placed a to go order. After walking in the door on the right, the layout of the restaurant immediately directs you straight back to the main registers. After waiting in a long line, I was told I have to go to the bar to pickup to go orders. I wait in another line at the bar. When I get to the front, I got my food and told the employee that I saw 3 people do the same thing as me, wait in the main line only to be forced to wait in another line to pickup. This is because there is no visible sign from the door on the right to denote the to go pickup line. Believe me, I looked, and I'm sure the others did as well. I told the employee this and he did not even acknowledge me! I thought that was extremely rude. The whole time I looked around for the manager, but I didn't ever see anyone that looked like a manager or was walking around checking on guests. They need two changes related to this. 1. Allow to go orders to be picked up from the main registers. Especially if there is no clear signage. Hell all you have to do is ring the order up and get the bag of food. 2. The staff is absolutely amazing. I am immune compromised and they went out of their way to make me feel safe and to accommodate. A group teens sat extremely close to me at a table marked unavailable and once I brought it to the staffs attention they handled it discretely and with an extraordinary amount of kindness. FIRST off, I've seen Torchy's popping up everywhere. My mother-in-law has been bragging that she and her colleagues eat there regularly in Nacogdoches, TX, since 2018. My wife and I snuck in with just under an hour till closing on a Friday night. Look, the cleanliness of the entire facility made the establishment worth a second try before we even ate! True story . Yup,that includes the restroom and y'all know I checked it out for the #ChronicIllnessCrew, #SpoonSquad and #WheelchairWarriors. The beer selection was impressive as well, usual domestics, standard Mexican and several caft. My wife ordered a Paloma (STRONG and good) while I ordered a Karbach Crawford Bock (always get a COLD mug separate). Now, the food? We started with Mr. Orange and we were impressed. The flavors and flakiness outstanding. We were just as UNimpressed with the Independent and Democrat tacos. Had lunch at Torchy's Tacos today, you walk up to the cash register and place your order, then take a seat and they bring your food to you. I had the Cheese dip and it was amazing as well as the stuff Avocado and the Barbacoa Taco delish and huge! The only thing I didn't like was paying 2.75 for a soda and being asked to tip right after ordering and paying for food. Want to see what service I get before doing that. read more

I'll start by saying the food has always been good at Torchy's, but that's about all the good I have to say. The pace at which you get your food is horrible!! It consistently takes about 30 mins to get your food, not good. Sunday 6/2/19 we've been sitting for exactly 24 min. What gives!? We got here this morning when they opened and they weren't ready to serve. Drinks haven't been made, tables haven't been cleaned, and someone is working on the cabinets during business hours. Also they always fill the napkin holders so full you cant pull out a napkin without it ripping. 10 min later, finally get our food. I ordered a wrangler and my wife had a ranch hand. They brought both tacos on in one basket. So we ask for another, that took another 5 min. The service SUCKS at best here at Torchy's 336 south Conroe. I love me some Torchy's Tacos! It's hard to believe that I waited two years before finally trying Torchy's, but now I'm hooked. It was so easy to get my wife hooked as well. I simply hit the one in College Station for a breakfast taco & now she's a regular. The nice thing is it pretty cheap. You can stop in & grab a quick breakfast taco for 3 bucks, it down & enjoy 2 tacos to fill yourself up, or enjoy the bar & have a couple of drinks, tacos & queso for a lot less than most places. I'm working on trying them all! Some locations are a bit grungy compared to others, but this spot is brand new, huge & the staff are totally cool. I highly recommend! read more

Just plain awful. My chicken fajita tacos are not good. This is my second time trying this place again and this time was worse than the first time. Not sure what has happened but someone needs to do something. I should have asked for my money back but was in a time crunch. I threw everything away including the pico and salsa which I normally would keep. Service was much better just not the food. I went through the drive-thru which was faster this time. Please hire some people that want to put out awesome food. We need that here in Conroe! I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

Decent food, however, forget about using the drive thru. A few weeks ago, I waited 30 minutes in the drive thru when there were only 3 cars in front of me. I figured this may have been an off day and decided to try it again. Big mistake on my part. I've waited 45 minutes with only 4 cars in front of me. I still haven't tried everything on the menu but so far it's been really good. My one complaint would be that the menu online doesn't quite match what is offered inside. I also hope that they will open up their drive thru pickup window. There's not a lot of parking out front which can be frustrating if all you want to do is get your food quickly. read more

This place is not a 5-star taco business in the conventional sense. I'm not a fan at all of their attempts at them. If you are wanting the regular taco, there are plenty of taquerias in the area to try. What they are good at though is the creativity behind some of their tacos, and they are good enough to warrant 5 stars. The queso as an appetizer is always a must. I recommend getting the trailer park taco, and make sure it is "extra trashy" (queso added). They also had a chicken-fried steak taco that is similar to the trailer park one. They tasted incredible, and they are a great new spin on the taco. read more

Used to go to Torchy's in Austin all the time so expectations are high. I love their menu and the food at this location is good. However, they fall short on the customer service big time! For example, my table was out of napkins and I informed one of the employees. Her response was "Sir, there are napkins on other tables." She literally pointed at a gentleman's table and my response was "You want me to get up and take his napkins?" Her reply "We are short." Short what? Short Staffed? She was young, so probably hasn't mastered the art of customer service...and finishing complete sentences. I later informed the manager and she didn't seem concerned about the incident. Asking for napkins seems like a small thing but there are too many choices for dining in the area that I could spend my hard earned money at. Sadly with this service, I'm better off going to taco cabana for better service. Second, the bar tender was not welcoming when I ordered a drink. She seemed bothered that she had to help me, she was more concerned playing with her friends sitting next to me than taking my order. Patrons should never feel like a burden in the service industry. The only reason I am giving this location 2 stars is because the food here is very good. However... the reason why it doesn't get any more than 2 is because of the service. This location started out great with great staff, great food, and fast service. The more and more I have come here to this location, the more times my order isn't correct, items are missing, and I have to wait longer and longer for my food. This past time I ordered online ahead of time and set a pick up time at 7:30. I drive over 30 minutes to get to this location because their food is worth it. Upon my arrival, there was a long line in the drive through. I sat in that line (about 5 cars) for 45 MINUTES before even getting up to the window to receive my food, which was already paid for. If it hadn't been, I would have left. I am beyond disappointed and frustrated because every time I come the wait time gets longer and longer. I hope they come up with a better system for their take out as it is a mess right now and not handled well at this moment in time. read more

Torchy's is a great place for a quick bite. This location is great for the working people nearby. The food was great, but overpriced in my opinion. Definitely the worst location I've been to and probably won't go back. My whole experience from start to finish was very bad and I rarely leave reviews... I placed a to go order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. I got there when I was told it would be ready and paid for my food plus tips. They took the receipt back to the kitchen like they weren't even aware of the order. 5-10 minutes later a lady came back out apologizing that the printer didn't print out the order until I walked into the store. An excuse or not, I didn't care and just wanted my food. I understood things like that happens so oh well. When I got my food, I was about to walk out, but the bag felt lighter than it should have been since I ordered four tacos, chips, and queso. After checking, I realized I didn't get the chips and queso and they apologized and gave it to me right away saying it didn't make it in the bag. Maybe it was just an off night, I thought. I was a little irritated but still not much concern. I get home around the corner, which isn't even a 5 minute drive, and opened my bag ready to eat the delicious Torchys I know and love. First, the queso. It was room temp and the cheese was almost hard... And then my good ole favorite trashy trailer park. It was literally just chicken and cheese. No pico whatsoever. The fried avocado taco was mushy. The Baja taco was pretty tasteless. It was nothing like what I was used to. Everything was a little bland too. I understand if you didn't get my order bc the printer messed it up. But how are you gonna serve me room temp food if you had to make it as soon as I got there? At least give me some hot fresh food if you messed up my order in the first place. Definitely the worst Torchys experience I've had. I love the chain of Torchy's but this store... this one is not such a great representation of the franchise. I ordered a fired Avocado and a couple street corn for me and my family and I thought it was an easy order. Only 2 cars in line so it was not like they had a rush on this nice calm Sunday. I come up to the register and they look at me all confused asking me my order again. I told them and waited about 15 mins and asked for a water for my 2 year old son in the back. 5 more mins go by and not even a water they gave me. They all sat there confused and did not even think to just re order the food. This team of people seem uninterested in serving and give off bad energy when in contact with customers. read more

the social distancing efforts were good. the regular queso was too hot, i left half of it at the table. i ordered the beef fajita taco. it was so full i wish i had 2 more tortillas. but, the meet was awful. it was shaved very thin and still had lots of grissle and stringy fatty stuff that would not chew up, and caused it to be spit out. every mouthful had that stretchy grissle type stuff in it. i gave up and left most of the meat on the table. ate the tortilla. 2nd time i've been there. probably won't return, if i do i for sure won't order fajita beef, will try the chicken. oh yeah, the beer was good! read more

I went here a yesterday afternoon and got the taco with fried shrimp on it, it was okay tasting but then I ended up getting food poisoning from it. Very disappointing. And if that wasn't enough, the service was terrible, the girl at the register was talking to another employee and was paying almost no attention to us as we tried to order and had an attitude. We bought 2 tacos and some chips and queso and overall waited an HOUR for our food to arrive, the restaurant was not even busy at the time. Doubt I will ever return. read more
