Donuts were good, and the place was cute. I got the maple bar thing and it was good, but not much better than other places. Pretty standard for a good donut place. So why 1 star? The service was atrocious. Ordered a cold brew and after 10 minutes of waiting just told them to forget it. When I did, no apology or anything - just a kind of spaced out ambivalence. Cold brew is just pouring cold brew coffee over ice. With so many awesome places in the area and a Starbucks just up the way - I am stunned this place stays in business. Other locations must be much better. If the manager or DM reads this, this visit was the morning of July 10th. You should really retrain those two. They didn't represent your brand all that well. read more

When I think of a donut... I think of top pot! I literally live around a 6min walk from my condo which my girlfriend, our dog, and I make a weekly stop by top pot and get the maple chocolate cake donut! ITS TO DIE FOR! The service is always superb! Let alone dog friendly! They are always wanting to pet my dog and make it a fun environment for us! We would highly recommend giving them a try! And once you do.. Let me start by saying that I like Top Pot Donuts. Ok I said it, yes I like them, but here is the problem, it's just a donut! The reason for this negative review is because the prices they are charging now are obscene, $17.99 for a dozen donuts?! I thought it was bad when it was $14.99, and then they go and raise their prices. I think the owners need to take a hard look in the mirror, and realize that people have choices out there, and charging double to 2 1/2 times the price of any other donut shop will make people seek out a better value. I now only use Top Pot as a last resort if there is another local Mom & Pop donut shop in the area. Another sticking point for me is that the donuts are not made here, they are trucked in from another location, how can you claim to be a donut shop if the donuts are not made on site? read more

Guest and I went to Top Pot on Saturday morning, 21 Sept 2013. The donuts were not fresh and tasted of old grease. The prices were high for such low quality donuts, which clearly were not baked locally but trucked in. The salted caramel donut tasted of old grease, chunks of salt and a hint of sugar. Guest couldn't stomach finishing the donut. The blueberry cinnamon sugar donut had been shown a picture of a blueberry during the baking process, which would explain the complete lack of blueberry flavor. Coffee was weak, brown water. Frustrated, we walked 1.5 blocks to the QFC grocery and had Top Pot donuts for less than half the price, plus a fresh, tasty coffee at the Starbucks. Finally, on a lark we drove to the local Sunrise Donuts; unfortunately they were sold out, unlike Top Pot. Kind of tells you who has the good donuts in the area. Summary: Get your Top Pot donuts at QFC with a coffee from the Starbucks. Quality of the donuts will be no worse, price is much less and the coffee's better. read more

We were shopping at Jock & Jill when my husband realized he needed his caffeine fix. After making our purchase, we wandered over to Top Pot. He ordered a medium iced and I ordered a small non fat chai. While I can't comment on the coffee (he did say it was okay), I can positively review their chai. It wasn't sweet and had more of a spicy kick to it - exactly how I like it. It is on the pricier side (on par with Starbucks... if not more!). The fact they have games to play (connect 4, yahtzee, etc), bumped their rating in my book. read more

Oddly enough, I don't go here that for the doughnuts as much as I do the coffee. I mean their doughnuts are delicious, but their coffee is top notch. And every time I go in there, the staff is in a great mood, more than happy to answer questions, and very helpful. I'm impressed with this place a lot and really love going here. The only real complaint I have it parking in that area but that's not exactly Top Pot's fault. P.S. I highly recommend their Bavarian cream filled chocolate doughnut. This shop is next to a barber, connecting together. When You look up you can see that the ceiling is opened up to the barber shop next door. I'm sure that a lot of hair is coming to the donuts shop. That's disgusting. Do you want to eat someone's hair?? Hell no! read more

Came here on a recommendation from a friend. We came in the morning, and they had already sold out of a number of donuts. Donuts are extremely overpriced... A box of a dozen donuts is $20!! A single doughnut is $2.50-- and while it is a good donut, it is not any better than other places I have been. I ordered a caramel latte and it was extremely underwhelming. The doughnuts are decent if you get them in the morning. Later in the day the freshness and selection varies. More recently they've shrunk the size of their apple fritters, which I think is chintzy, particularly since the doughnuts are expensive. Also, their receipts have a space for a tip and I've experienced attitude from a few of the staff when you don't tip. In my view, the minimal effort required to put doughnuts in a box for take out doesn't warrant a tip, so the attitude is a negative. At the Kirkland location, a staff person lazily waved a fly off a rack of doughnuts. The fly flew to another shelf with doughnuts. This sort of thing is hard to control when the doors are open, nevertheless it's gross. They shouldn't leave the doughnuts exposed to pests. I haven't seen flies in the Redmond location, but all Top Pot locations use the same open rack storage system for holding doughnuts, so the problem could arise in any location. read more

Ooof, this place is *expensive* for what you get. I bought 2 donuts and a refrigerated little sausage/egg pasty, came out to $10.50 after tax! The main saving grace of this place for many of us that live nearby is that it's within walking distance, but I think the next time I get a craving for fried dough, I'll drive someplace cheaper and fresher. read more

I don't get what all the fuss is about with these donuts. I saw something on the cooking channel raving about Top Pot doughnuts in Seattle and my experience was not the experience described on TV. Maybe it is just this location, but the doughnuts were not very fresh. They were pretty small (which is not a problem if the quality is outstanding, which it wasn't) and they seem really overpriced for doughnuts, even for the Seattle area.
