To add insult, the happy workers were thrilled to have a break, as hard-working people parked their cars, and took the time to come in. Donuts are good, service is on the slower side, and the crazy tow truck driver will get you if you're inhale in the wrong place. I've only been in the mornings and they have a nice selection then. I don't drink coffee but apparently it's pretty good here (as noted by the boyfriend and multiple other friends). The donuts are excellent and are as good as you've probably heard. They're large (particularly the traditional glazed!), tasty, and of clearly superior quality. The Double Trouble, a chocolate cake donut with chocolate frosting, is the way to go. Super good. The donut itself tastes like chocolate, instead of like fried burning (Dunkin' Donuts.) Coffee? It was surprisingly not as great. I can't call it bad coffee, but it's certainly on the good side of average. Just a bit of a let down. Service is okay at best. Kind of friendly but kind of distant, too. I've had worse service elsewhere. I'll definitely go back. read more

For sure not something you should eat everyday, but a once in a while treat is nice. The servers were very helpful and pleasant. We tried the old fashioned and original I believe. One of the blueberry ones tasted very cake-esque while the other one was much more dense and moist. We also tried a jelly filled that was a bit too dry and puffy but still very good. This place is hard to top. I can see why Golden Tate would risk a B & E for the pleasure. You can taste the quality in every bite, which separates this place from other purveyors of pastries or donuts. I don't find anything that special about their doughnuts, in fact they strike me as below average. I can get better doughnuts at a grocery store like top foods. I speak specifically of the raised doughnuts, I'm not a fan of cake doughnuts. Maybe they do cake doughnuts better? The raised doughnuts are too dense, I prefer them light and fluffy. I have been to the Top Pot downtown so I was glad to see they migrated over to the eastside. My favorites - raspberry bismark and apple fritter - be warned, eating a Top Pot doughnut will set you back an entire days calories, but so worth it! As far as location, parking kind of stinks - I quickly parked illegally in front but I think you can park in the lot across the street. I'm not very impressed by this place. Maybe it's just the location bc the one in Seattle seems to have better reviews. I'll have to try it to formulate a better opinion about them. I have been into the store twice and enjoyed their donuts another time when a friend brought them for a get together. I have tried the apple fritter, glazed donut, and another one that wasn't memorable so I cannot remember. I felt like the apple fritter was not as crispy with all the fried goodness on the outside like I am used to when I bite into an apple fritters from anywhere else. How come all their glaze is a whitish color? Is it bc they use powdered sugar? I mostly have seen a clear glaze on donuts (again what I'm used to). It doesn't taste different really just an observation. The glazed donut, which usually is my favorite, was too doughy for me! It wasn't airy and soft on the inside, it was more on the cakey side. I think it's more of a preference, just not mine. I miss the good ol' days where I was blown away by donuts from mom and pop shops. Coming from Cali, they were everywhere and it was like heaven! I've yet to find something that will blow my socks off while not busting my wallet... I bet I will be back here giving it another try after try.. It is super close by is the only reason why. Solid doughnuts and some decent coffee. Why doesnt bellevue have more places like this. Its just a good place to go have a doughnut and coffee while enjoying your sunday morning paper. They serve lunch stuff here, but I have never partaken in it. The downside is that parking does blow and you have to park in the garage and validate... at a doughnut shop. Oh how I love Top Pot. I've not had one of these doughnuts since last June, but they are delicious! We came here to grab some for my work mates and they were much appreciated. I like that they open at 6, however sometimes it would be cool if it were earlier. My hubs LOVES their coffee. He says it is one of his favorite blends. My favorite is their apple fritter, but be ware they're huge! That and the maple bar, oh how it melts in your mouth! read more

i love this place mainly for the coffee. they make a mean americano and I know my espresso. I haven't actually had the doughnuts as I sadly cannot eat wheat products, but whenever I am there, everyone seems to be thoroughly enjoying theirs. they also have magazines to look at while you sit, as well as copies of the stranger. there is lots of seating, and I could definitely see myself coming here to study or sit on my laptop to work. read more

For me, Top Pot is the place to go if you like a good solid cake doughnut. Theirs are very good. The prices might be higher than expected, but on a fullness-per-dollar scale, it's reasonable. The doughnuts are pretty loaded. I'm the kind of person that can eat 8 to 12 Krispy Kreme Originals, but will be crying after just 2 to 3 from Top Pot. Their doughnuts are a force to be reckoned with. The quality has been reasonably consistent between all of the Top Pot locations I've tried... this one included. I'm a little bit worried now, though. I live in Bellevue and Top Pot is not something I want to be "conveniently located nearby". Dammit! read more

In general I'm not a donut person, but there are two I truly enjoy, cinnamon mini dougnuts at Pike Street Market and old fashioned doughnuts at Top Pot. I don't live nearby any Top Pot stores but was excited to get a half a dozen donuts for breakfast while I was in the area. It was alittle trickly to find the place with no convenient parking. There was a great variety of donuts. I was alittle taken back by the price and would have appreciated if the sales person had mentioned that it would have been cheaper to buy a dozen. We didn't eat the donuts until the next morning but they were not stale and well worth the walk and price. I wouldn't go here everyday but for a special treat it is well with it! I've had Top Pots from Starbucks, so decided to give their Bellevue store a try. The donuts are good, definitely better than the supermarket, but about the same as some of the other donut shops I have been to (such as Donut Star in Auburn). I had a maple bar (good, but not outstanding) and a cinnamon sugar cake donut (this was excellent). Coffee was OK. All in all, OK. read more

Top Pot donuts sure look good. It makes them hard to resist. Aside from the apple fritter, I can't say I like any of them though. All the cake donuts are soft and cakey. So if that's what you like then this is your place. I like donuts with a crisp outside. The chocolate batter might as well just be a color, I couldn't get any flavor from it. So the amazing looking (and sounding) chocolate sandcastle ends up tasting like a regular sugared. Then the price seals the deal, being nearly twice as much as any other donut, that's setting expectations pretty high. read more

Doughnuts seemed old, even if we had then in the store the server put them in the bags and not on the plates ending up in a mess, the hot chocolate tasted like cardboard and the cashier messed up our orders, I had to repeat multiple times. read more

My kids love coming here as well - the donuts are always fresh and delicious and the staff is great as well. Maybe it's one of those things; when you hear how wonderful something is and is something you must experience, you over-inflate your expectations in your head and tend to be a little disappointed when you actually get around to experiencing it (case in point for moi: The Twilight books or The Hangover). I guess I'm going to have to throw Top Pot into that category: Good donuts? yes. Amazing donuts? mmm, no. Overpriced donuts? Absolutely. Maybe it was since I went later in the afternoon and the donuts were probably baked first thing in the morning, but my batch all had a certain "crunch" to them that only come with time. Also along the same lines, there wasn't much of a selection. I will say however that the guy working at the counter was extremely helpful and patient with this Top Pot virgin. And once I got past the "crunch", I did like the denseness and not overly sweet flavor. Will I come back? Sure. Will life be incomplete if I never have a Top Pot donut again? this is seriously the worst donut that i have ever tasted. I am shocked that so many seem to be writing that they liked them. I have tried them in their store, where I bought a variety for the office and I have tried them when they gave them away at the St. Patricks Day run and at the Top Pot Donut run at Greenlake (they were free -- thought I'd try again just in case). Every time they were heavy, thick, not tasty, not sweet, like a donut should be. Frankly, I will never have another top pot donut, even if it's free. It's not even worth the calories. read more

So, I hear all sorts of people raving about this Top Pot Doughnuts place. I decide it's time to make a donut run and surprise the folks at work with a dozen donuts from Top Pot. That was the ONLY time I'll be doing that run to Top Pot. First, I'm hoping for a Maple Bar with Bacon that I've heard so much about, only to find out it is an occasional "special" that they offer, not an every day thing. DANG!! Now it's like my tongue has blue balls! Get me all worked up for bacon, only to shut me down. Anyway, I go ahead and settle for a variety of the cake donuts - a dozen of them and then my eyes about fall out of my head when the donut getter rings up my bill. It was almost $20!! Well, I go ahead and make the purchase expecting to get some amazing donuts for that price. Get the donuts to work and everyone's excited to try 'em. The response: eh, they're okay. Nobody thought they were the best they've had, but they weren't bad either. Just okay. $20 worth? Absolutely not. There are donut shops I've been to all over this area that serve donuts that are just as good...for much less money. Definitely not a place I'll be buying from again. read more
