This is a sm place in a shopping center with Ralph's market. It's great the steak is tender and the chicken is soft and tender also. The meat is not over cooked and tough. The brown rice is also soft not dry. Tastes better than the white rice. It's quite and cozy with a patio that sits 10 or 12. Inside sits 14. They will bring your bowl or plate to the table when ready. This place is worth a return. read more

This spot is nicely situated in a large plaza with plenty of parking and other food options. I liked this spot because the food is familiar and the tastes are along the lines of American and Americanized Asian tastes. The staff are kind, they keep things clean, and the options are familiar enough that I could go there every other day and enjoy tastes that are familiar to me. There is the bed of rice and the meat of choice on top. Then, there is a salad that I didn't touch. It was plenty of food and I'd like to try their fish option next time! I wonder what else they can offer that differentiates them from the other spots around them! Can't wait to try more! read more

Came here for some rice bowl/plates at almost closing time. I ordered the chicken plate for 7.99 and it was mediocre. Rice was relatively dry and the chicken was slightly dry as well. What i assume to be teriyaki sauce was very light, but helped make the plate taste less dry after mixing in with the rice. The salad was ok, nothing special. Oranges were very sweet and probably the best part of the plate. The food alone is only worth 3 stars, but what made me give it 4 is that they didn't kick me out during closing time as well as allowing me to order even when they were about to clean up. read more

This restaurant steals your credit card info, it happened twice to us and still ended up getting burned and the food is substandard as well and horrible service while you're in there. You have to wait over an hour to get the meal from the time you order it read more

Food tastes good, but the service would stop me from coming back. Cashier is not very friendly the times I have come you get a tone of impatience and she just leaves you in the middle of trying to order. Even after paying there is no "thank you" or whatever ETA the food will be ready... just a blank stare. Very weird. read more

She had such a bad attitude but she should learn to leave that at the door and then when I tried to order a drink after I just ordered my bowl she gave me attitude and said "Now you want something else?" I thought the rice had a nice consistency and the meat wasn't overcooked. The location is nice, too. It's in a busier location with plenty of options, but I like the simplicity of the combination that they're offering. I don't have to think too hard of wonder what's in it. I can order and just enjoy it. And they gave me a lot of everything. It was enough for another whole meal for me. read more

My husband and I have placed multiple phone orders here and they always answer pretty quickly and are pretty polite the majority of the time. They always have our food ready within 10-15 mins and is almost usually cooked perfectly except for like one time, but I'm sure they might've had an off day due to covid. We usually order the shrimp or salmon bowls or plates depending on how hungry we are. We love how they cook the salmon with a light crisp around the edges of it and the salmon still tender and juicy and not over cooked. I would eat at this establishment everyday if there was no money involved. I've never had a bad experience eating here, from the food to the service. I usually call ahead to place my order and it'll be ready by the time I get there. The staff is very friendly and if you go often, they'll remember you and your order. My go to is a chicken/steak plate with white rice and I substitute the fruit with steamed veggies. I could literally eat this all day everyday, because it's so good. Waba Grill and Flame broiler could never match the quality and quantity of food that Top Grill has to offer. I'll easily make a 30 minute drive to eat here at least once a week. I recommend this to anyone who is in the Riverside area. This food will literally change your life and make you happy. read more

This place is BOMB!!! Best food money can buy for under $10! They give you alot of food and it is delicious and healthy. The cashier that is always there is so sweet and nice too. Horrible service... I placed a phone order and when I picked up, the girl was confused as to where my order was...then I noticed she was calling the customer to notify him he received the incorrect order... Meanwhile I'm still standing there wondering if she's going to do next. The customer did return the order however it's common courtesy to have placed a new order to the cooks. I immediately told I'm not taking that order please make me a new one... she stated he returned it, he had just left ... she placed the new order to the cooks and made a remark I guess I'm having this one for lunch. Let use common sense people and be courteous to the customers. read more

Had been coming here for MONTHS at the rate of 2 to 4 times a week and sometimes 7 times a week. Usually my wife picks up food on the way home. Today I went to pick up some plates as my wife was working late and wanted to surprise her with the food. I was on my way back from a dr.s appointment. I got home and noticed they had made a mistake on my order so I called them to let them know there seems to be a mistake. They put me on hold for 5+ minutes and asks me to bring it back so they can see the mistake... I told her I live 30 minutes away then she proceeded to say to take pictures and send it to her to prove it. What the F? We spend $1000++ a month here and she is suggesting that I am lying for one f'ing plate thay they messed up? Her excuse was she made it and the people in the back made it and don't remember the mistake. Instead of saying okay no biggie they proceed to essentially call me a f'ing liar. Enjoy losing out on our business. Y'all obviously have no clue on hospitality or management. Our support of this store was literally paying for 3 if their part timers paychecks if not more and to have their manager notion that they need proof for the one time I've called them out on their mistake is something that is gravely offending at the very least. They've constantly made mistakes on my order in the past and I let it go because we go there so frequently. But to have the audacity to say prove it because they didn't make a mistake is ridiculous. read more

There is no contest between Top Grill and its competitors Waba Grill and Flame Broiler. Everything about it is better: the veggies are fresher, meat is never burnt and the rice is always perfect texture! The service is really good as well, all the cashiers and cooks deliver both delicious food and impeccable service! I think considering the options, this place definitely has fresher ingredients in terms of the rice and veggies. The meat seems fresh but the flavoring seems very artificial and I wish it was actual charred vs liquid smoke. In a pretty busy plaza so sometimes parking can take a minute to find. I'm giving it 3 stars for the generic food that may be fresh but the flavoring needs help and the poor customer service I've received the couple of times I've gone. It would be 4 had I not constantly received what I didn't ask for. I'm diabetic so when I'm asking for a half portion of rice, I expect that because I don't want to pay for my sugar levels getting jacked up. Bad energy from the young lady with the glasses and bad built working the cash register. She seemed as if she was not in the mood at all today. That's fine but everyone knows not to take your anger, sadness, and bad vibes out on other people!! especially ppl who are casually being nice and who just want a bite to eat. HOWEVER, She did smile and was very flirtatious with a male customer that came in. I don't know if her attitude was racial, sexist, or if she's just a horrible person. The new teriyaki place that opened up in Canyon Crest Plaza. Been wanting to try it when it opened, but I was doing the Daniel Diet and couldn't eat meat. Now that its over, I finally tried this place, which is located next to Bucketlist Burgers. I ordered the teriyaki chicken/beef plate and overall it was not bad. Tasted pretty standard similar to flame broiler and waba grill. Comes with rice, teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef, veggies and oranges. I really enjoyed my experience here at Top Grill! This being in the Hot New Business category, you know we gotta check it out! It was a little hard to find but the extra walking around led to some newly captured Pokémon ;) When we went in, we saw the menu. Not too diverse if you ask me but we already knew what we wanted. And the best part is they're free. We ordered the carne fajitas and chile relleno. We were sat right next to where they made the tortillas and can see them being made since they had glass windows around it. However, there was one gentleman that was making tortillas who was on his cell phone texting or whatever CONSTANTLY at the same time while doing this. He had a glove on one hand and no glove on the other, and was touching the tortilla dough.....We all know how dirty a cell phone is! And what made it worse is at one point he itched the inside of his nose with his finger, and didn't even wash his hands or have gloves on after that. I suggest a camera be placed at the tortilla station, add the notes about bacon in the beans and chicken in the rice, and add bell peppers to the fajitas. In the beginning it was a nice place, the owner and servers were really accommodating. I would get the chicken veggie bowl or something that has veggie with the item with no charge. Well, I go now, three weeks after opening, and order a chicken bowl with veggies no rice and the owner says it is 50 cent extra.. Why, I ask, she replies because you want only veggies. I was baffled because I am not asking for extra veggies, I am just asking them to leave out the rice from a dish that already has the appropriate amount of veggies in it. I left hungry wondering why I have to pay more to have an item removed from my dish. Nope, on principle alone on this matter my girlfriend and I (and our friends we talk to) will not return. So disappointed. I first gave this place a really great review because they were awesome and tasted really good with decent prices. They even gave us a free drink when they were recently open. But then they started nickel and diming :/ We used to get the bowl with veggies and no rice with no extra charge and all of a sudden they started charging 50 cents for it. They even wanted to charge us 50 cents if we got the rice/veggie bowl with no rice and no extra veggies. If they continue going this way, they will lose customers. They've already lost our business. Also, they need some sort of tofu bowl. Vegetarians won't want to keep coming here and eating just a veggie/rice bowl. read more

This used to be my top three chicken teriyaki bowl in my life. I returned to this place recently and it was a total disappointment. Yes, the place is clean, server(s) are nice, all is good, except food. Chicken was very dry and burnt which never happened before. Teriyaki sauce was watered down and didnt taste the same. I could see a wedding (ceremony and reception) in this great space. Great work UCR at preserving and providing The Barn, an iconic venue in Riverside.
