I really wanted to like this place but the oysters were not fresh at all. Looks like they used ice to try to hide the grayness of the oysters and it had a funky taste. Since we're in the Covid Era, I ordered it to go. 1lb garlic butter shrimp ($12 per lb)1 order red potatoes ($1.75) 3 corn ($.85 each), 1lb shrimp ($12 per lb) Kick Me sauce, 1 order red potatoes ($1.75) 3 corn ($.85 each), 2 orders chicken wings (6 for $6.5), and a side of fries ( big enough for sharing). Only one hiccup was that while driving home, I think some of the shrimp continued to cook by the time I got home about 10 min later. So, some of the shrimp turned out mushy. I'm sure if the shrimp was eaten fresh it would have made a difference. Personally for me, the garlic butter sauce needed MORE GARLIC and a bit more salt. The shrimp tended to have a different aftertaste also, so I'm not sure if that's from the drive home. The medium level spice Kick Me sauce had the buttery, Cajun-y spice flavor and I would personally stick with this or upgrade 1 level hotter to the "Holy Moly". Chicken wings were nice & crispy outside and moist inside, but seasoning nowhere to be found. Instead, there is just ranch sauce for dipping. Fries were crispy on the outside and semi soft inside. Oddly enough I didn't see fries on the menu. The parking lot is shared with other businesses, and the place is cozy. Also, Rockstar Shrimp is open for DINE-IN business! Second time coming here and had another amazing dinner. We made it in during the last hour of happy hour (ends at 7pm, but on Thursdays it's all day) and Sandy our waitress gave amazing service! She mentioned the Passion fruit margarita, something not advertised on the menu & of course I ordered it because passion fruit is one of my favorites! And it was probably the best margarita I've ever had because of it! I ordered a 1lb bag of shrimp, (2) corn & potatoes as it's my go to orders at a place like this, while my bf ordered the fish and chips. I would like to mention that here you're able to order the full shrimp, headless shrimp, or shrimp with no head or shell- tail only. My preferred is the full shrimp, but this time I ordered the tail only shrimp to try it out. My bf loves that option because he doesn't like the extra work & he was amazed when he tried my meal. I would suggest ordering a side of their Cajun fries no matter what you get because it's HUGE & delicious lol. We couldn't finish ours so of course we took it home to reheat in the air fryer. We ordered 1 pound of kickin sprimp and 1 pound of be gentle spice shrimp. They way they bring it yo your table is quite different. In a bag with all the juices and spices just marinating all together. Just pour it out on the table and eat! There is nothing lady like when eating this food, just eat and enjoy. My boyfriend and I went to this location because one of my friends used to work here and she told us that the fries are really good. The food: the fries are actually really good. For $4.50 they give you so many fries for your meal that it is perfect to share between two or even three people! We got two pounds of the combo so that we can have a little bit of everything. They give you a lot of shrimps, mussels and clams and it tastes absolutely amazing for $13 a pound! The only thing is that I wish the seasoning had more variety in flavor with every bite, but it started to taste the same after a while. One really disappointing aspect of our meal was that the added corn (extra cost) was not sweet AT ALL. It had zero flavor because it wasn't cooked in the whole boil and it just tasted like wet cardboard. If the corn was updated I would justify paying the extra cost! read more
