So damn good!! I love ceviche and baja tacos, and having this place close to home is going to make it an easy regular place to stop by. It's a casual sit down/take out spot and was bright and clean when we walked in. We were quickly greeted by friendly staff as we browsed their menu and she told us about some of their items. Everything was so good! Loved our order of baja fish tacos (great flavors throughout each element, great texture on the fish, not mushy at all), taquitos (crunchy, with good flavor, you can tell they're made fresh), ceviche (so damn good and spicy too!) and a potato taco (actually had too much potato in it for me personally, but it was still delicious). They also had some really good agua frescas, a bar to the side which looked to serve beers and maybe margaritas, a self serve salsa bar, and a refrigerator section with more drinks and desserts. This is the third Mexican restaurant in this location and I think we have a winner (actually, I was a fan of Mr Taco for years). The menu is pretty straightforward Baja Mexican tacos and burritos, as well as ceviche. The ceviche is what I come for and I think it's pretty darn good. Really fresh and tasty, spicy and tangy with a nice mix of seafood, onions, and avocado. Normally comes with a four pack of tostadas but this time the owner hooked us up with some green nopales tostadas and introduced us to eating it with a dab of mayonnaise between the tostada and ceviche. I'm already a ceviche fan but this really elevated it. Fish burrito is also yummy and well priced at $8 for a fairly large burrito. The beans are more flavorful than standard refried beans. Goes great with the four different salsas. Service has always been incredible for a fast casual restaurant. The staff always makes you feel welcome and cared for. The drive thru alone gives this place some points! The lady at the front was very kind. Our food came out quick and fresh. I had the fish taco plate and we tried the nachos. The nachos were okay. There were no cheese or meat under the pile of chips. So we basically had plain tortilla chips. Although the asada meat we had on top was really good though! The fish tacos were 10/10!! It's not the best fish taco I've had, but it's the best in this neighborhood. This time around I can finally taste the fish, which was really good, wish I had a little more sauce but next time I'll ask for more. I'll be back to try the other food. We love this place and the food, however on several occasions over the course of many weeks, we cannot get anyone to take our order at the drive thru speaker where you order. We've had to drive up to the window and then one time my husband couldn't get anyone to come to the window. Another time I had to yell out to them from the drive thru window and another time they left me waiting to order for 8 minutes even though I was the only car in the drive thru. Food is good. However, we did door dash and three items were missing (not the drivers fault). Called Baja Shack and asked about the missing food. The worker said we can drive down to get the missing items. I said if we drive down and spend more money on gas, after paying fees and tipping the driver, I expect a free item. Worker tried to hang up on us multiple times, saying "I can barely hear what you're saying." BEST spot in the area for REAL mariscos. Long line & still everything is made fresh & fast. Barely started our beers and got our plates right away, and our meal was amazing. First of all I would like to say food is amazing however customer service is probably some of the worse I've experienced. I ordered $120 worth of food to go and asked for salsa cups as the ones they provide you do not come with lids. Each time I would ask for several, the lady would literally had me one. I had to ask several times and got frustrated and left with three salsa cups for $120 worth of food. I was also not the only one who she did this to. Initially I thought the lady did not understand me, but later found out she spoke perfect English. When I got home, I realized a ceviche was missing. I called them through the phone and the lady on the phone said she gave me three bags, which was untrue as she only gave me two. She eventually said to come back and they will remake the food. I drove back to the location and told the lady at the cash register that they failed to provide a ceviche and she immediately became defensive and said they had given me everything. She told the lady who was making the ceviche and she angrily responded that she already made the food. Another girl came and they all began speaking in front of me in Spanish. At this point, I told them I was not lying about a ceviche and would definitely not drive home and drive back for just that. I told them to check their cameras to see how many bags I left with. They hesitantly remade the ceviche and I got the most insincere apology before I left. I tried reaching out to the owners of the location but the person who I reached out to did not even bother to respond after I told him of the issues. Again the food was excellent but I will not go back due to the extremely poor service. I will drive the extra time to Miches de Baja by the University Village for Baja food. read more

We were Excited to try this new spot , in my local area. The inside is nice and clean with a tiny small bar, which i thought that was pretty cool. The staff is very friendly and family oriented. Bbbbut the downfall is the food. I had ordered all the tacos on the menu. They all appear and taste the same. Lacking flavor. Too much veggies for a second, I thought these tacos were plant based. Basically ,perhaps a salad ??..perhaps not. My girlfriend is allergic to salads. Salsas are the same problem ,no flavor and very watery. Pricing is fair. Just tried Baja shack and was very impressed. We got there 30 min before close and they were super friendly and welcoming. The place has plenty of seating and has a salsa bar with music and outdoor seating. We had a nice conversation with whom I assume was the owner and the girl behind the counter was super friendly and helpful. I got the surf and turf burrito after the woman behind the counter recommended it. It was delicious and pretty good size. Both the steak and shrimp were full of flavor. My wife got the 3 chicken rolled tacos. The chicken was moist and had good flavor. Good size helping of guacamole, pico, sour cream, lettuce and cheese on top of the rolled tacos. We shared a surf and turf nacho and again the asada and shrimp had great flavor. Everything was delicious and the people inside were super friendly. The moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by two different female employees on different ends of the restaurant which set the tone for a positive experience. The restaurant itself is very clean and inviting. I came in on a Wednesday around 4pm to hopefully beat the dinner rush, which was a success. My food was prepared and handed off to me (to go) in a timely manner. My family and I all enjoyed what we ordered: surf and turf burrito, crispy shrimp tacos, grilled fish tacos, crispy shrimp burrito and asada nachos. This is my second visit in one week. Needless to say I love the food here. Our first time here it wasn't very busy. We were serviced quickly. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We got to meet the owner, he said they've only been open for a month. At the first visit here I tried the shrimp cocktail, crispy fish taco and Al pastor burrito. All were very good, I HAD to come back and try the crispy fish tacos again. They had a very nostalgic taste, reminding me of the very first battered taco I ever had. All the ingredients were fresh and the salsas have amazing flavors. This time I had aguaschiles verde, the chicken and asada tacos. This is not just a seafood place, their meats are equally as excellent. The price is fair for quality and quantity of food you're receiving. I also had their michelada mix with beer; this pairs very well with their food. The establishment itself has a nice ambiance; warm and inviting. The staff continuously check on us and removed plates that we were no longer using. I would highly recommend this establishment if you like Baja style food. read more
