This review is for the self-wash doggy grooming station. I was able to make an appointment online for the same day. The cost is $20 for 30 minutes at the station. They had everything that you would need - towels, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, ear cleaner, deranging spray, doggy cologne, and brushes. It was very clean. I can't say my dog enjoyed it because she hates baths, but I thought it was convenient and easy. I'd definitely recommend this to any dog owner out there.

How many pet stores are ever featured on a local tourist information center's website? I wouldn't be surprised if no other pet store in the country is also considered a tourist destination. Tomlinson's is a local pet shop specializing in pet products with integrity. The original Tomlinson's was the first locally owned pet store in Austin. Th Burnet Rd store has many things you aren't likely to find at the pet supermarkets. They have private rooms full of supplies where you can wash and dry your dog. They have an engraving station where you can make tags for your pet. And, they have caring, attentive staff. Right now, they are matching every pet food purchase with a food donation to our local pet shelters. And if you go in the playroom you can help socialize local kitties looking for their forever homes. Going to Tomlinson's reminds you that you love animals in a city of people who love animals too.

I am a huge fan of this local pet store. They carry quality pet food, indestructible pet toys (a must in our house) and specialty items like cute dog cookies and all the accessories a pet could want. I came across this new location on my way to a Yelp event yesterday. I stopped in the get a bag of dog food as we were running low. This location like the others has a welcoming and helpful team. The store is well stocked and carried our go to items like Wellness brand food, venison chews and chicken chips which are locally sourced and natural. Tomilson's also does wonderful things for the local shelters and rescue groups by hosting meet and greats with adoptable cats & dogs. They also facilitate deals occasionally where if you buy certain bag of pet food to donate to a shelter it will be matched by the pet food company.

I had a very disappointing experience with the veterinarian at Petco…read more My daughter brought her dog in for a rabies shot after he had just received his routine vaccinations at another clinic. Although her appointment there was at 11:00 AM, the actual vaccinations were administered at 12:45 PM -- which the Petco staff confirmed directly with the clinic. Despite this verification, the veterinarian refused to provide the rabies shot because she believed it had not been done "within an hour" of the earlier appointment time. Even after being given the correct vaccination time, she would not reconsider. Her demeanor came across as dismissive, unhelpful, and unprofessional. As a result, my daughter had to drive across town to another veterinarian, wait behind urgent cases, and go through additional stress just to get a routine rabies vaccine completed. Thankfully, our dog is fine -- but the situation was completely avoidable. Veterinary care should prioritize animals' well-being and treat clients with respect. This experience fell short on both. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled so other families don't have to go through the same frustration.

I have always been a loyal customer, bringing my dog here for almost a year now, but my most recent…read morevisit was extremely disappointing. I scheduled an appointment online for 11:00 AM to bathe my dog, who weighs over 95 lbs. Since no one answered the phone, I booked online assuming it would be for the standard one-hour slot. When I arrived, no one mentioned that the appointment was only 30 minutes. It wasn't until my dog was already completely wet and I was about to begin drying her that an employee came over to tell me I only had 5 minutes left because another appointment was scheduled. The problem is not simply that the appointment was 30 minutes--it's that I wasn't told this from the start. If I had been informed as soon as I arrived, I would have decided not to begin, knowing it wouldn't be enough time for such a large dog. Instead, I had no option: my dog was left wet, and I was forced to stop in the middle of the process. They told me I wouldn't be charged, but it was far from "free." I wasted my time, my dog was left wet and uncomfortable, and as many dog owners know, wet dogs start to smell if they aren't dried properly. I then had to drive home, figure out another place, and bathe her all over again--because I couldn't just pay somewhere else to finish drying a wet dog, she needed a complete bath from the beginning. Tomlinson's really needs to improve how appointments are managed and communicated, especially for large breeds. Customers must be clearly informed about time limits before starting--not after their dog is already wet. This would prevent frustration and ensure a professional, respectful experience for loyal customers.
