I love this place!! It's so funny how I gave a negative review for the gelato place next door because they seem to have teenage kids as staff who are absolutely terrible at customer service and their reviews reflect that. And then there are same age kids at this location and it's the complete opposite. They are consistently professional, nice to talk to, and very efficient. Their self service stations are fantastic and always well stocked. I went late one evening before Christmas and they were nice enough to stay a few mins longer to let me wash my dog. Now THAT'S customer service that is worthy of emulation, not the least by the gelato place next door. :) The store has some really good edibles for my dog. The healthy treats are a great choice. Wow! This place is finally open. I've been patiently waiting since they started filling the space. My two girls are extremely spoiled, pampered, whatever you want to call it. Trevor was super helpful showing me the several (yes, several) different styles of "slow down you silly dog" food bowls and even a "don't drink so fast you puke" water bowl. These are on my must-have list. He also showed me several different heavy duty toys for my crazy chewer/shredder. He even sent me home with one to try out. Cool!!! I'm so hesitant to buy her toys because she shreds them instantly. He also sent me off with a couple of cookies. My girls will be so happy! One of the coolest things about this place? TWO dog washing stations! They even have elevated decks for the smaller dogs so you don't hurt your back. They provide all the shampoo, teeth cleaning stuff, brushes, etc. And THEY clean up the mess. The owner is in the store often and he is helpful and knowledgeable. The store is usually well stocked . They honor price matching of local stores and order. We purchased food that was on sale but was not charged appropriately and they credited our account. Sometimes the kids working in the shop aren't able to honor price match or online prices but the owner or manager always corrects the omission or charge. The girls at the register were super sweet. I went to use their dog wash and I was super happy with that experience. They provide all shampoo/conditioner, perfume spray, and ear cleaners for the dogs as well; this is all at the super convenient price of (for big dogs) $15, even cheaper for little dogs. I was looking for a place to bathe my dog and came across Healthy Pet. I read all the amazing reviews, so I decided to give it a try! While not a big store, Healthy Pet offers a huge variety of food, treats, toys, accessories, and anything/everything you could ever need for your furry friend. And they're all some of the best brands out there! What I love is their bathing station! They only have two rooms, but they keep it very, very clean. They clean the rooms between washes! The rooms include aprons for you so that you don't get wet, a furminator and other brushes, three different types of shampoos/conditioners, three different scents of spray, towels, treats, ear cleaner, dental cleaning, and a blow drier!! I paid only $12 for all that!! It does get pretty crowded for the bathing stations though- I went on a Saturday afternoon and since they only have two rooms, I waited for about 40 minutes. But if you don't want to wait in the stores, they'll call you when it's your turn too! Definitely recommend this place not only to bathe your dog, but also for the food and treats they have! read more

Not only did he take this seriously, he offered to meet me in person to discuss. So after a few scheduling discussions we did and I can confidently say that this experience is not one that he would ever allow his staff to get away with. He has gone above and beyond to assure me that this was not the norm and not acceptable, and I truly believe him. Trevor has won me back as a faithful customer. The dog wash is awesome, great smelling shampoos and conditions and at a very low price, I love it (my dog might disagree, but he smells good afterwards). Prices are very reasonable, I've checked other local stores and online shops like Chewy, they are all more expensive. Plus, if you live close enough, they deliver free, often same day if you call early enough! We have been bringing our EXTREMELY well behaved Dog to Healthy pet for her baths for about a year now. Everyone has always been extremely sweet, caring and understanding of how scared she gets with her baths. She doesn't act up but she will shake like crazy so we do not ever latch her to the tub and we allow her to move around the room while we dry her so she doesn't feel contained and traumatized. No one has ever told us anything about not latching her up to the tub until today. I was told I need to latch her or contain her in the tub both during bath and drying. I've never seen this specific worker there before and as I tried to explain to her why I do not contain her and why it really shouldn't be a problem if she's in the room with the door closed, she was rude and didn't care to hear it. We will be driving further and giving our services to another healthy pets who will be caring and understanding. read more

We took our 2 English bulldogs here @bearandhoney_thebulldogs for baths. This place was awesome! Everyone was beyond nice! The tub area was clean, towels and all you need is provided in the bath fee. There is a ramp for the dogs to walk up and into the tub if you have trouble lifting them over. There were 5 different shampoos, 3 different spray fragrances, teeth cleaner, ear cleaner, brushes, treats, towels, and air blower. We will definitely be back! I've been going to this healthy pet for a few years, considering I've lived in this area for about 2 1/2, but now I'm just going to start ordering my cats & dogs food off of Amazon based off of the experience I had the other day with the 3 girls who were working that evening... I don't know if there was training going on or if somebody was new and didn't know how to look things up in their system or correctly tell their customers pricing on cases of wet/canned food. But I left very confused, with two separate transactions, one of which I asked them to fully refund & start all over so that this wouldn't happen but they did not listen to me whatsoever - & also told me the case of food i was getting was going to be $42.99 & then I got charged $47.11 but my first transaction was $21.26 (i told them to fully refund this one & then ring me up for the case instead of me just buying a random amount of cans) only to find out later because I was so confused, I called and asked them what happened because I asked for that first transaction to be refunded and then for them to ring me up correctly for the whole case... turns out the $21.26ended up being a credit towards the case that I was told was going to be $42.99 - the case was actually both those amounts together... so the case ended up being $68.37 total, not $42.99 but the girl who probably realized she messed up rang up the case for $42.99 & acted like she "refunded" me the $21.26 but when i called she acted like she told me it was going towards the remaining amount. ??? I don't know what kind of business this is, but if you're not going to own up to your mistakes or that you read me the wrong price for the case of food, or tell me hey, i just messed up this whole transaction.... I'm not going to want to buy anything from here. I came home with these cans of food & I promise I will be returning all 24 tomorrow & will never go back. read more

As a new pet owner who was rigorously looking for the right kind of food to give my rapidly growing labrodoodle, I found the employees here to be knowledgeable, courteous and amiable regardless of time of day. In addition to pet food , they also carry a wide range of pet toys, accessories, feeding solutions,- and so much more!! There's a do it yourself dog wash at the back end of the store with hand showers and such that you can use to bathe your pet. When you make a purchase, you get set up with an account to which they can email your receipt, Offers and so on. They also have fancy doggie cookies with icing which I'm guessing is safe for dogs. Also, treats for those pets who come in with their humans ! The level of service here is refreshing especially after you've been to a big pet store. I'm never ignored nor overwhelmed. I look forward to many more visits to healthy pet. read more

Not many places truly deserve a 5 star rating, however Healthy Pet Austin does. In the past 2 maybe 2 and a half years I have been been a customer, I can honestly say that not once have I had a bad experience or even a bad interaction with any of the staff. The store has quality products, for both cats and dogs, with a great variety, and per chance they do not have a specific flavor or size that you need, they will gladly order it for you. Even with all of the quality brands, the real benefit of shopping at Healthy Pet Austin is the staff. Every staff member I have dealt with has been excellent, no matter if you are in store or on the phone. The staff has even taken time to help me order over the phone, and pre-pay so I can quickly grab my order on my way home from work. And recently, I have learned that they are working on a web based ordering and delivery service, which is excellent. Presently, if you live close enough to the store they will take your order over the phone and drive it to you. I know that buying healthy snacks, dry and wet food my pet can get pricey, but I love supporting this well trained and incredibly helpful staff. read more

Great selection and knowledgeable staff. AND they offer a dog wash area for $12 (dogs under 30 lbs; larger dogs are just a few bucks more). I was always a firm believer is science diet until learning so much from the staff here. Now I am in the process of mixing my dogs food with Pfromms to slowly switch him over. I can already see a difference in his 'pep' and weight! Super easy to return items here as well since they keep a log of each visit you make. Awesome pet store. So clean and neat. Great selection of pet food,bowls, toys,treats,etc. They have healthy natural treats that most places don't carry. They offer dog washing. Yesterday while going into Micheal's Crafts I noticed that there was a new pet store, Healthy Pet. I mentioned it to my Mom today who has a dog, and we decided to stop in and take a look around. I had no idea that they had just opened recently. In fact, when we came in they were just putting the sign on the door! We were very impressed - this is a really nice store. They mainly cat and dog supplies, but a few small animal supplies as well. A huge selection of food and toys, and a really nice atmosphere. In the back, they also had dog washing stations with all the amenities. I believe it was $12 for 30lbs and under, then $14 for 30lbs and over. Really not bad, and very nice facilities. My Mom ended up purchasing a bone for her dog - although it was hard to not walk out with more stuff. They have the entire Hear-Doggie line of toys which I happen to love - it was really nice to see. They also have doggy cookies up front. I believe we also met the Owner, Trevor. He and his staff were very friendly and made sure that we were finding everything ok, and asked us if they could help at all - great customer service. I just got back from my 1st trip to Healthy Pet. Nicole helped me and I had the best experience. I have shopped at two other high end/natural pet stores in town and had mediocre experiences. Not here! Nicole helped me trouble shoot my "picky eater" dog and recommended a good plan for him. I had asked for food advice at the other stores and got a "they're all good" response. I told her what was going on with our dog and she gave me very informed, practical advice. I am confident we have a good plan for our dog and if this doesn't work I will be back because I know they will help me get it right! While I was there I perused the rest of the store and they have a great selection of really nice dog treats (including birthday cookies!), toys, and everything else you could need. They also had cat and other pet items, but I only have a dog :) They also have a very neat, self-service dog wash. I will be back to try that too! She gave me a few treat samples at the checkout and when I got home I gave one to my dog (sort of a jerky) and he was SO happy! He's never loved a treat that much. We have been there twice in the past week (new puppy). They know us by name. Always had a ton of information for us and helpful tips. When I came in looking for another treat for the pup since he didn't like the ones we bought before, they traded it in for one that he liked. And they know he liked it because they opened a package and let him try it. These are some of the sweetest employees around.
