Thank god for Perry, Michelle, and Jaydon at Tomlin's Auto Service! I was on my way to the airport with very little time to return my rental car, check my bag, and check in, when something popped out of my tire (I'm assuming a large rock) and the tire alert went off in my dash. I turned into the Mobile Station there on Highway 99. An attendant there saw my quickly-deflating tire and told me about Tomlin's just up the road. I couldn't have been luckier that it was so nearby. I pulled in front of the office and frantically informed Perry and Michelle that I was rushing to the airport. They sprang into action, repairing the tire for a very reasonable price. In only about five minutes, I was already back on the road on my way to the airport. I am writing this review from my seat on the flight I was able to make, thanks entirely to the incredible customer service and handiwork of Perry, Jaydon, and Michelle. What's more, their professionalism, sense of urgency, and friendliness completely alleviated my distress. Why would you enjoy an experience at tire shop well, if they are polite, courteous, and fast that would be a great start and they are indeed, polite, courteous, and fast and they don't make you feel stupid if you're asking questions they fully are open about what they are offering what they're doing and what they have available and what they can and cannot do you can trust them. I know you've been told not to trust mechanics, but that's a big lie, you should be wary of people in general people happen to be mechanics. People happen to be chefs. Three weeks ago I went to Tomlin's to sell a couple tires. I was given a price, and when I thought I should get more because I had purchased one of the tires from them a few months before, the employee suggest posting online, and if I didn't get any takers I had a standing offer. I did that, without luck and went back to take them up on their offer. A man who said he was the owner said he didn't want them, and when I told him about the "standing offer" he ignored that. I walked out, and I must have looked upset, because he followed me out and said "why are you upset with me because I won't buy your tires?" This place is great. I've been here twice and both times they've gone above and beyond and have been completely honest. I had a bad tire leak from a nail on the drive up to Eugene and wasn't sure what I was going to do upon arrival, being it was almost closing time everywhere. (It was crucial i had my car ready for transportation tomorrow in order to head back home after a family gathering). Absolutely the worst service station on the planet. The employee who was working not only had a very unprofessional and outrageous appearance but was also single handedly the most uneducated, under qualified, unskilled and socially inept person I have ever had the misfortune of talking to. He not only wouldn't help me with the simple task of mounting a tire but he also refused to unmount the destroyed tire. I would truly never even send my worst enemy to this establishment. read more

Called on the phone needed one tire. They advertise for used tires. I gave them my make and model, explained I only needed one. They told me they had some the same size and would charge my 60.00. I asked how much tread they said you will have to come see for yourself. I work for a living but am not rich by any means. i told them I could get a used tire at Big B for 50.00 with 50% tread. He made a very rude comment became a bit aggressive and actually hung up on me. read more

TOMLIN'S IS DECEITFUL AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. On Yelp they say they give FREE estimates, but that is a lie! We had our pickup towed to them after we broke down. We were told they would check into it and there would be no charge. The next day the mechanic calls me and says it was the fuel pump and it was a worst case scenario. Says there are twelve different fuel pumps it could be, and they won't know which one until they dropped everything. Sounded as though it would be a lot of money and really didn't sound like he wanted to work on it, so we called the Chevrolet dealership. We scheduled to have it towed and called Tomlin's to advise them it would be picked up, at which time they tell us we owe them $50.00. I called back and spoke with the owner, Perry, and explained to him that my husband was told we wouldn't be charged anything. He wanted to know who told him that. I advised him it was a man behind the desk. He proceeds to tell me there is just a woman behind the desk and doesn't know who my husband spoke with. He then stated he was not going to argue with me and he was going to talk to his guys. Since the tow truck was en route my husband took off to Tomlin's to try to get things resolved so our pickup could be towed. When he walked into their office, just like yesterday, he discovered the same gentleman sitting behind a desk. Apparently the owner, the mechanic, and this guy behind the desk that spoke with my husband yesterday, argued, which led to my husband calling him a liar. The owner, Perry, left the decision up to the mechanic. The mechanic told my husband that he wasn't going to charge him the $50.00, but because my husband was rude he had to pay the $50.00. Then the owner, Perry, said, "See, if you hadn't been rude you wouldn't have had to pay." Really, Perry? We had been lied to and felt like you were ripping us off and you don't think we should have been angry? Not once did we use foul language or yell at you....I thought we were very civil. However, I have this to say about you....you are a business owner and I would think if you had a complaint from a customer that you would have the balls to try to resolve the issue, hopefully with the intent of keeping customers satisfied and wanting to do business with you, instead of leaving the issue to be resolved by your mechanic who apparently could care less about customer service! And then to turn to my husband and make the idiotic, childish statement that you did about him having to pay makes me wonder how you could actually be the owner and have any customer service skills. You brag about being in business for 30 years? What a shame for ripping people off that long. I sure wouldn't be bragging about it!! You might consider taking down your advertisement for "FREE ESTIMATES", because I believe they call that "FALSE ADVERTISING", but you probably don't care about that since you seem to be profiting from it. I stopped by here the other day because I had two flat tires on my truck. It was the only place open on Sunday and I like to give local places my business if I can. I could not find anyone in the office so walked around and found a person in the back shop. He seemed to be in charge and called a younger kid to do the tire work for me. This young man was very nice but really didn't have much of a clue when it came to working on my truck and it worried me. I have a dually pickup and he seemed lost when it came to jacking it up or taking the tire off. The older man told him to jack it up under the axle. He didn't listen and started jacking it up in the middle of the frame as if he wanted to lift the entire left side of the truck off the ground. By the way I had a camper on the truck and it weighs in at 13,000 lbs. I didn't want him to damage the frame so I had to find the older man again to tell him he was doing it wrong. It then took him at least 45 minutes to get one tire off. He then came to me saying it would take and hour and 45 minutes minimum to fix both tires. I was getting pissed at this point and told him to fix just one tire he had off and leave the other one alone. I did not want someone who had no idea how to work on my truck doing anything else. We ended up sitting there for at least and hour and a half to fix one tire. Les Schwab took about 15 minutes to fix my last tire. That was on off and fixed, on the same truck. This young man as nice as he was has no business working on vehicles. He couldn't even figure out how to get my hub caps back on. I really hope the only reason I had to deal with this kind of service was because it was Sunday and a holiday week end. I hope there are more competent people working there normally. This is the closest tire place to my house but I am not sure weather I will be going back again. read more

Please read the following... BUYER BE WARE!!! I brought my car at Tomlin's because I needed some work done on my Mercedes..That was a Huge mistake. They are a tire shop...period. The mechanic told me he knew more about my Mercedes then the Mercedes shop and that they call him to problem solve situations. I thought that this statement was a bit off but just let it go. The mechanic told me he could fix it. I told him no rush...and that was another mistake. My car sat at Tomlin's for weeks...never a call. After a while, I called and the mechanic told me it was fixed. He said he put a new blower in the car and that I owed him 704...which I paid.. As I left...I decided to turn the air conditioning on and the air was not blowing any air. I immediately turned around and confronted him. After leaving my car there again...he keep guessing at what the problem could be...its this ...its that...you need a new battery ...you need a air vent. I was confused because we had just put in a new battery from AAA. I called AAA to come out and run a test on the battery and they said that the battery was great and gave me the report. I went to Tomlin's and showed them the report. The mechanic told me their testing system was not good and that they have a system to check batteries that costs several thousand dollars and much better...Really? I replaced the vent which didn't need replaced. I gave him the car unwilling but I just paid him 704 dollars.and didn't want to lose that money. After weeks of every excuses of what could be the problem...my husband and I decided to pick the car up. My husband said... " who does this" ...usually when you take your car in...they will diagnose it, give you a quote and tell you when to pick it up. My husband was frustrated and felt that this mechanic had no idea as to what was going on...let alone was very unprofessional and disrespectful. I tried to call them being the person I am and try to give them a second chance. The mechanic and the wife of the owner were very rude. I took my Mercedes to another car repair shop and they told me that Tomlin's put in a second market economy blower that didn't even belong to the Mercedes. The new car repair shop ordered the part from Mercedes and fixed the problem. We all have choices as to where to take our cars when they need fixed...Learn from my mistake to stay away from Tomlin's on hwy 99. They are truly a nightmare!!! read more
