    Chips and salsa

Today my daughter and I were running errands and stopped at Toledos in Clovis for lunch. We were seated immediately, there was no waiting. They were pretty busy, only a few empty tables. We chose drinks and enjoyed some warm chips and salsa! We liked the choices on the weekday special menu. I got one chicken taco with a bowl of soup, rice and beans, drink included. My daughter got Sam's special; chicken breast covered in chorizo and cheese with rice and beans and 2 tortillas. Everything was delicious ! Service was top notch, and it was bright and lively during noontime rush. I really liked the soup, albondigas, so good! We will for sure go back and try something else, another day. Happy eating Clovis.

    Tostada ceviche

In my college years I would always go here to get the shrimp ceviche tostada to go. Today I went back after 10 years not coming to clovis. This place is still the same! Service is good and fast and the food taste great as always! The ceviche is so fresh and has such a great taste along with the tostada. They also give u a bad of chips with salsa on the side! Best ceviche in town!

Best chips and salsa with quick service is always a great way to start dinner.

Toledos never disappoints with an incredible and filling breakfast. We ordered and food was at the table within 10 minutes which as just enough time to eat the delicious homemade chips and salsa. The waitress brought our drinks and food quickly which is always a bonus when you are hungry. The restaurant was full but there wasn't a wait time on Sunday at 11:30 am. It's always a lively restaurant with music in background and families chatting.

Chicken fajitas with flour tortillas, rice and guacamole (subbed the beans for more rice)

Went here around 5:30pm on a weekday and I didn't have trouble finding parking. We got seated right away as there wasn't that many customers. More customers prob started coming around 6:15ish. Lighting was just right and seating was comfortable. Our server was really attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered chicken fajitas with flour tortillas, rice and subbed the beans for more rice and it also came with guacamole. The food was a big portion enough for 2 people. It came in sizzling and tasted really good. It was seasoned well and very tasty. Although the flour tortillas weren't that great. I probably should've just got corn tortillas. But the rice and guac were good. Next time I come here, I would order the fajitas again but I would try it with corn tortillas.

    Watery salsa

My wife and I have been on a mission to find the best burrito in the Fresno/Clovis area, trying out random Mexican restaurants along the way. Unfortunately, during our search, we stumbled upon what might be the worst Mexican restaurant in the entire Central Valley. To start, they bring out chips and salsa--which is usually a good sign. But not here. The salsa was extremely watery and lacked flavor. I'd rate it a 1 out of 10. I ordered the Don Jesus Burrito, which the online Yelp menu lists at $15.99. But when I got the menu, it was actually $19.99--and that's before the upcharge for carne asada. Nearly $20 for a burrito? Sure, I'll pay that if it's amazing. But this was anything but. The burrito was stuffed mostly with beans, with barely any carne asada to be found. To make matters worse, the tortilla fell apart halfway through and I had to finish it with a knife and fork. Not exactly what you want from a burrito that's supposed to be top-tier. To be blunt, this place is heavily Americanized and clearly caters to a more affluent Clovis crowd who might care more about trendy aesthetics than authentic flavor. If you're looking for real, flavorful, affordable Mexican food--this isn't it. Final verdict: Overpriced, underwhelming, and a total miss for anyone who actually knows good Mexican food.

This was my first time back in a very long time. No particular reason why I haven't been back since except that I've just had better, honestly. It's not bad, though. I just have other places I prefer more. This wouldn't be my first choice, but I also wouldn't be opposed to it if it were to be suggested again... if that makes sense. The staff was nice and friendly. The restaurant reminded me kind of like an old saloon? I don't know if that's the right word for it but that's the first that popped into my head. There's some cool pictures and history about the restaurant up front in the waiting area but we didn't have to wait too long to be seated (we were there 2-3pm, Saturday afternoon) for me to be able to dive deeper into that. Our waitress greeted us quickly after we were seated and put our orders in once we were ready. I wasn't sure what to order so I just went with a combination plate to try multiple items at once. I got the 3 combo plate- taco (asada), enchilada (cheese), and chile relleno w/ rice and beans. He got the Carne Asada a la Tampiqueña plate (steak, enchilada, rice, beans, guac, and your choice of corn or flour tortilla). While waiting, they brought us complimentary chips and salsa. Salsa wasn't bad but could be better. The chips were really good though, we both enjoyed the chips a lot. Normally, my first choice would be an enchilada plate but they had quite a few options (suiza, chile verde, mole, etc) and I just didn't want to make the wrong choice... especially with the mole. Everyone makes it differently but the best I've had thus far? I haven't found in a restaurant. It's from my best friend's Mama. Anyway, he enjoyed his plate but didn't finish. I liked my plate as well but it didn't quite satisfy me the way I'd hoped. Everything was okay/good... but nothing made me say "oh, wow, that's really good" except for the chips. I read that the family line did have something to do with Country Fare Cafe (which is one of my faves)... So if they have enchiladas like that here I would love to try it. I'll also have to come back to try their breakfast... but, for now, this review is based off this experience. It'll fall right smack dab in the middle. Wasn't exceptional but it wasn't bad.

Good food in a relaxed setting.

We stopped by after church and were seated right away. Our server was fast and friendly and our food showed up very quickly. Fast service! Good food.

Stopped in the other night for dinner & as normal, food came out good. I've yet to have anything come out bad, but I will say the service needs to be sped up because it can take awhile at times. All in all: Good food, friendly service! Definitely worth the stop if have not yet.

A great place to take the family for a nice night of Mexican dining with one of the best blended margaritas in town. Try the mango margarita. It's excellent. We had a very friendly and attentive waitress, Berenice, who took great care of us.

    Soup and taco

Came here for lunch and ordered the Taco Trio for $10. 1 crispy taco your choice of meat, personal salad and a bowl of albóndigas soup. Food was great!

This is just a beer bar, so beers and seltzers only. I went with the Crow and Wolf Ocean Blast seltzer; a blue coconut, mango, pineapple, and lime beverage. Insanely good and refreshing on a hot afternoon. My wife went a peach seltzer that was just as tasty. We sat in the backyard area, that offers plenty of seating, a few TVs, and a ordering window so you don't need to head to the inside bar to order more drinks. The out area has smoking and non-smoking sections and is dog friendly, but they must be leashed. For food, we went the tri-tip BBQ pizza and a soft pretzel. The pizza was delicious and the perfect size for two people. Huge chunks of tri-tip, spicy BBQ sauce, and very cheesy. I asked for jalapenos on the side for an extra kick of heat. Right now is the perfect time to hit up this place since the weather has been so beautiful. Make sure to check their Instagram page for live music and keep supporting local!

The beer is the obvious starting point. They brew their own and the variety is legit. I'm not even a huge IPA person but I tried one here and it was good enough to finish. The staff actually knows the menu and can walk you through whats on tap without making you feel dumb for asking. The space is great too. Industrial but warm, good energy, not too loud to have an actual conversation. It fills up but doesn't feel chaotic. Its in Clovis which from Fresno is nothing, like a 10 minute drive. Totally worth it for a Friday night out or even just a low key weekday hang. Prices are reasonable for a brewery. Nothing here feels overpriced. Just a really solid spot. Go with friends.

I like how the location is tucked away and not on the main strip of Herndon, I like the amount of outdoor seating, the misters on the north side which helped a lot because there's plenty of shade on the East but the sun will beat on you around the other side. Only downside was there were no outside TV's, they did bring one from inside but with the sun it was hard to have an angle that allowed everybody to watch. The beers were great, I wish I could recall what I had but the only one I recall was taboo 50/50. EXCELLENT. The staff was friendly, helpful, and inviting. The place was packed, most there for the USMNT's World Cup opener and I feel like they handled the crowd well. Only reason I don't give this place a more favorable review is the food options and the restroom situation, the mobile lavatories and the food trucks were a real bummer, this is a big location and it feels like they could've fit a kitchen in there somewhere. I'm a bit of a prude though I don't care for food trucks but theres nothing else being offered no chips, no nuts, no small eats. I did see a party inside with little Caesar's and stuff but idk if that's allowed for everybody or just a group party offering. But the mobile restrooms were nasty, humid, dirty, and just felt like a bad option for the area, the steps and the people stumbling out of them idk. Aside from those two things it was a cool spot.

We headed in at an odd time yesterday around 230pm. It was late for lunch and too early for dinner. Nevertheless, we were seated in the front dining area, and ordered some entrees. The menu offers a lot of familiar favorites that you would expect to see at a a bar/ restaurant. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a few specialty plates. For my meal, I ordered The Local burger (no pickles of course) which was absolutely fantastic. Piled high with cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes - this burger was executed to perfection. I ordered it medium, and it came out medium (imagine that). The best part was the sunny side egg that was placed on top. That first bite was heavenly. The yolk breaks, and all the goodness adds a little extra flavor to the already delicious burger. The shoe string fries were seasoned perfectly- I highly recommend this entree. The only thing I would add next time is an element of spice to take things up to another level. My wife ordered the BLTA sandwich , with sweet potato fries. I didn't try a bite because I had enough bacon on my burger , but I did sneak a sweet potato fry , and it was fantastic. My son order the chimichurri steak , he seemed to enjoy it although it may have had too much sauce on it for his liking. Perhaps it would been better if he ordered the sauce on the side. My picky daughter ordered the pesto chicken sandwich ,and she said it was pretty good. My family and I were full , but weren't going to let the dessert options pass us by. My family has a sweet tooth. We all shared the chocolate cake and bread pudding . Both are nice options if you need something sweet to top off your meal. The food and vibe of this place deserves 5 stars. I will deduct one star for the mediocre service and inconsistent food prep. Our meals were coming out one by one which made it awkward when trying to eat together. Our server didn't offer refills on our drinks , and didn't bring us utensils -until we asked for them. I will be back to try more menu items , and enjoy a cold beer while watching the game.
