So glad my friend and I got to try out this lovely new restaurant in Fort Wayne. It's conveniently located in a little plaza with ample parking. The place is super roomy so it's great for large groups. The menu offers a little bit of everything--Chinese, Japanese, sushi, lunch specials, drinks, etc. We decided on getting sushi and got the Lover's Girl, Alaskan, and Spicy Girl rolls. They were beautifully put together and even had a bunny made from a Roma tomato. A + for the effort! They were all so delicious and we were full after. I especially liked the Spicy Girl (which is really not that spicy). Our servers were also super sweet and kept checking into make sure we didn't need anything else. Overall the food, service, timeliness, and quality is great. This will be a spot I go to when I'm back in town!

This was such an interesting find for my boyfriend and I! While looking for a new place to eat for a spontaneous dinner, we remembered that there was a new Asian restaurant in town that we had passed by. The menu looked huge to say the least - it had Chinese, Japanese, and even some Thai dishes, so there was a good variety to choose from. We decided to dine in and give it a shot, and we wound up pleasantly surprised! The interior was fairly spacious and inviting. We were seated quickly and had very sweet interactions with the staff, so that was already a plus! With the variety present, we HAD to go with a little taste of everything - we got one sushi roll, one salt and pepper shrimp, and one crab rangoon (because I will always order crab rangoon, of course). Everything was tasty and fresh! The shrimp wasn't overly seasoned, and the roll had a lot of good, balanced flavors. Not to mention the cute presentation of the dishes haha. Consider me a return customer!

So good!!!! I only got a picture of mine and I'm a vegetarian but my son had the shrimp roll and another specialty roll. I was full after one roll and a spring roll so this was lunch the next day too. Pricey but worth it. They were not busy when I picked it at 8pm- hope they stick around!

Passion Fin is one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is always fresh and delicious, and they have a pretty good variety, even if you're not into sushi. The staff are friendly, restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the service is great!

One of the better lo-meins in the city!

I was excited to another Asian themed restaurant on the North side of town. My wife and oldest daughter headed over on your typical Friday night out. The layout was clean and bright, but I would say a step down from WU's, Nori or Asakusa. Like many restaraunts, they were wolfully understaffed, but the young man doing all their serving was doing the best he could. Now the food... We started off with some pan fried dumplings and they were delicious with the soy based dipping sauce. I love a good hot-n-sour soup. The cup I received was a little thin, but ok. (hard to beat WU's). My wife and daughter had the egg drop soup and wonton, both receiving thumbs up. My daughter had the honey chicken and my wife had the beef lo-mein. I snuck a bite of the lo-mein and has to be one of the better versions in the city...prepared exactly as it should be and an enormous portion. I had the Autumn Lemon Roll and The Summer Roll. Both were tasty, but The Summer Roll had my number and can't wait to try it again. If you're in the Colwater and Dupont area, I would encourage you to try Passion Fin as their menu is extensive, good food and priced right.

This is my new favorite Asian bistro! I live in Toledo but come to Fort Wayne frequently for work. This is the BEST Asian food I've ever had from either city, and I've tried just about everywhere. Fresh ingredients, big portions, adorable ambiance, and super friendly service. Garlic chicken is delicious with just the perfect amount of spice and the potstickers are amazing. I will be frequenting this place every chance I get.

This place is amazing! The food was fresh, hot and the presentation was impeccable! Portion size was plentiful and the service was friendly! We all were happy and will definitely will be retuning frequently!! Go enjoy a wonderful, delicious time in all aspects!

Very clean, welcoming, and well lit. We were greeted immediately, very friendly. It wasn't crowded, good music, pretty festive. We had pot stickers, pan-fried, seaweed salad, eel and cucumber roll, and the Godzilla roll. I'm just going to say it. It was better than Asakusa. I have said for years how I love Asakusa, but this was better. The flavors were fresher, the ambiance was better, and the presentation was better. I included pictures. You get 10 pot stickers to an order, but I ate one before I took the picture. Oh, and they are better priced than other sushi places. Give them a try.

    Chicken and shrimp hibachi. Terrible.

We tried to come on Christmas night. What a mistake. Not only were we not greeted for about 10' to be sat, we were the only ones waiting, but we waited about 15' at the table without being greeted once we were sat. It wasn't very busy. We finally got up and walked out. The manager said sorry as we left the building. Since we had a gift card we waited a week and went again. This time we were sat promptly. It did take about 10' for a server to greet us but once the manager saw us she apologized again for Christmas night and made sure we had a server and drinks right away. We started off with the veggie tempura. It took about 20' for it to arrive, again it wasn't that busy, it was fresh, hot and pretty good but the sauce was terrible. Shortly after they took our app order they took our dinner order. Both of us ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi. It came with rice and a clear miso soup or a ginger dressing salad. I got the salad my daughter got the soup. The ginger dressing was very grainy but my daughter said the soup was good. 45' later we still didn't have our meals. When the manager noticed she made sure it was coming out. She came back to the table to let us know it was still going to be awhile and would we like another soup or salad. We said yes and it was the same as the ones before. Finally about an hour and 10 minutes later the main meal came out. It was hot and the veggies and rice were good. The chicken was cut into large chunks and was decent. But the shrimp....AWFUL. They were so rubbery and tough we couldn't bite into them. And the sauce was flavorless. Even soy sauce couldn't help it. When the manager saw we weren't eating she asked what was wrong so we told her and she made more shrimp and it came out the same. When we were ready to pay she only accepted the amount on the gift card leaving us not paying the extra $5 balance that was left. We didn't take the leftovers which was the entire hibachi meal. The photo was exactly what we left on The table. For the $21 it cost I wouldn't order it again or recommend i eating there. Maybe they're known better for their sushi. I won't find be finding out. It's to bad because Ive heard and read so many wonderful things and even when I first went and got only their egg drop soup it was so good I gave it 5 stars just based on that. Well, now I know. Try it to support local. It could have been just a couple of off nights.

Passion Fin is a wonderful addition to northwest Fort Wayne as my husband and I have been really looking for good Japanese near us. We shared the honey chicken which was more than enough for the two of us, crab Rangoon, spring rolls, and a large hot and sour soup. The customer service was wonderful, and food was fresh. The honey chicken and hot and sour soup were fantastic. I wasn't a big fan of the crab Rangoon as they just didn't seem cooked enough and were soggy without any crisp. The spring roll was good however I prefer egg rolls myself. I would absolutely recommend, and am excited to try out some other items on the menu!

Awesome service, friendly waitress, super clean and cozy inside! The sushi was excellent, and the lunch special deal is amazing! I will definitely be back to try more items from the menu!

The restaurant only holds about 50 dinners and the tables are uncomfortably small & close together. It's also located in a neighborhood that might make some people take caution. On the flip side...The Oyster Bar offers 130 years of history in a uniquely older facility that features fresh high quality seafood along with outstanding service. You decide what you value and how you want to spend your dinning dollars. The Oyster Bar is located south of downtown area on Calhoun Street. The vintage building is well signed, lighted and offers an easy-in-easy-out side parking lot. The restaurant only holds about 50 dinners with a limited number of tables and a small bar. I would suggest that you call and make a reservation as The Oyster Bar is a fairly popular place to dine. Inside the building has retained the historic look. The foyer is very small...just like walking into an old house. They feature lots of dark hardwoods and a vintage looking bar. The tables are located very close together as you would expect in a small area. I think the tables are smaller in size as it was difficult to accommodate all the dishes, menus, glasses and cell phones. The white table linens and attractive "sea going" decor help set the experience. The staff on this night was very friendly, professional and helpful. They made us feel welcomed quickly. The waitress was great about removing dishes, refills and stopping to check on us. It's easier when all your tables are close together. Overall the food was excellent. Fresh seafood in Fort Wayne isn't common place. The food creations were delicious & creative without being all that unique. You will find a fairly broad menu to meet most dinner's choices. Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Calm Chowder: very creamy without being overly rich to taste; moderately thick in consistency with a mild clam flavor; several larger pieces of clam meat; very good taste -Oysters on the half shell: beautiful presentation; oysters were fresh taste; no salty or "sea" tastes/smells; a small dab of sweet cocktail sauce and ground horseradish were nice add; oysters were outstanding!! -Fried Hushpuppies: no corn meal breading here. The outside was lightly fried and slightly oily to taste. The inside was slightly sweet, soft and moist. The chipotle aioli sauce has a very mild southwestern flavor that accented the sweet breading. -Crab Cakes: two fairly large cakes packed with real crab meat; gently fried; the fresh seafood flavors come through nicely; another very good dish! -Seafood Au Gratin: plenty of chunks of scallops and crab buried in a delicious lobster cream sauce and layer of mozzarella cheese. The sauce was creamy and mild without being rich. The seafood pieces retained their original flavor. The cheese topping was nice and gooey which held the seafood & sauce together nicely. Delicious dish!! -Diver Scallops: large and plump scallops cooked perfectly; very tender and moist without a "fishy" taste - nicely done!! I very much enjoyed the dinning experience. I love restaurants that retain and feature an older buildings character. I appreciate high levels of service and outstandingly delicious food. Especially when it comes to fresh seafood!!

This. Soup. Will. Slap. Your. Tastebuds. I wanted to go back into the kitchen and crawl into the soup pot and swim around. It is soo tasty!! The flavor is bold and the cheese is thick and what a cheese pull! My mouth just watered at this! We also had a pretzel bread. It came with delicious, sweet cinnamon butter. We loved it! For our main, we ordered the steak medallions and mushroom risotto. People...... The steak was cooked PERFECTLY! It was so easy to cut, and it melted on your mouth. The seasoning was delicious! The mushroom risotto was the perfect consistency--creamy and scrumptious goodness. This dish is PHENOMENAL!!! To finish, we had a warm, moist, and delicious carrot cake with cream cheese icing, caramel drizzle, and topped with walnuts. There is cinnamon ice cream on the side. We were so happy because most times, carrot cake we order out is dry--but THIS cake was TOP NOTCH! Megan, our server, was kind and prompt. Big Eyed Fish on Wells Street - when you have a craving for Fish & Stroh style fish and tarter…read moresauce Yes, I know that I could go to Stroh to get this old time flavor. However, Big Eyed Fish is pretty good fish in its own right, local...and flavored like the taste I remember from the past. We visited the Big Eyed Fish location on Well's street. They have an express shop located on Huegenard Road and another dine in location at Leo Crossing. This location has been in service since 2003. It has a nice diner feel with super friendly service. You can find parking on the street or in the lot behind the store. The inside is rather large and works well for parties up to about 8 diners. There is a small bar and TV's if that is your thing. They also have a big and varied menu including breakfast items. Here is a run down of the food items: -Fried Fish: the white fish fillet is thin and fried with a thin breading. The fish is moist and tender. It will flake apart with a fork or by hand. The breading has a slight amount of seasoning and isn't very oily to taste. It has a taste similar to the Fish & Stroh style if you are familiar with that. The fillets are not very filling. For an extra $3...I went with the all you can eat option. Delicious fish! -Tarter Sauce: I love tarter sauce. In fact I might order fish to go with my tarter sauce - lol. This mayo based sauce is reasonably thick, somewhat sweet and has a hint of pickle flavoring. It's creamy and makes a perfect complement to the fried fish flavor. -Baked Beans: this side really surprised me. The bean is small and contained hamburger pieces. The sauce had a slight BBQ flavor but not enough to classify it as a BBQ baked bean dish. The meat flavor was a nice add to the smooth tomato spiced sauce. Delicious!! -Cole Slaw: I kind of use KFC as the standard for Cole Slaw. This is very similar. The slaw pieces are cut very small with only one kind of slaw. Seemingly no additives - just slaw. The sauce is mayo based, a bit more sweet along with a hint of vinegar. I loved this side too! -Hush Puppies: these balls are pretty small in diameter. The inside is very modista and sweet with that southern style corn bread taste. The outside is thicker, a bit oily to taste and has a mild corn bread taste/texture. These are probably some of the best hush puppies I've had in my southern raised life.

Tasteful decor, albeit the bar, patio (seasonal, of course), or main dining area. Choice of booth or table seating. Can be a bit noisy, when tables of patrons forget they're not the only guests in the room, but not to the level that drowns out your own table conversation. Service is usually impeccable and Kiersten (our server the past 2 visits) exemplifies that: knowledgeable, attentive but not intrusive, kind, efficient, pleasant. Hubby had the not-your-ordinary wedge salad as a starter (pictured). Bacon, tomato, bleu cheese crumbles, hard boiled egg, and a creamy balsamic dressing. Very tasty! Me, always a sucker for good French onion soup (pictured), which I always order with no bread or croutons. Broth has authentic rich flavor with just the right amount of simmered onions. The only thing that might have made it even better would have been the use of Gruyere (or Swiss, instead of what seemed to be mozzarella) for the cheesy melt topping the delicious soup. Our chosen entrees tonight were the cashew crusted Mahi Mahi (pictured) served with orzo and fresh green beans, and the seared tuna (pictured) served on an umami blend of Napa cabbage and broccoli lightly dressed in sesame ginger, just-right heat, and peanuts. SO good! Oh...and you can see by the pics that the portions are well presented and generous enough to have some for lunch the next day! Truly a local fav! Great place for lunch or dinner!

Black Canyon (Dupont & Lima Roads) - consistently good dinning experience…read more Black Canyon is located on the very east end of the strip mall located near the Dupont & Lima road intersection. It can be found across the parking lot from Buffalo Wild Wings. There is always plenty of parking near the door. The restaurant is large with an inviting & modernly decorated bar and dinning area. The team here is very friendly and professional. They never disappoint. Making reservations on line is easy. I would definitely recommend reservations! On this night we were seated in the indoor-outdoor dining area. This area is more open, well lit and less intimate than the man dinning area. There were two large groups (12 and eight) seated in this area - nice for larger gatherings. You have a nice view of the lit outdoor fire place. BC has a very large menu. There is something for everyone. Overall BC is rather pricey but not as expensive as some. We started with our favorite corn bread appetizer. It's a simple 2-3 person dish. The bread is more like a southern cake than a traditional corn bread. The inside is soft, sweet and moist. The whipped butter is fluffy, smooth and makes a delicious accent to the corn bread. My wife ordered the southwest grilled chicken salad. She said the chicken was perfectly grilled and moist. The lettuce and fixings were very fresh. The dressing was very light and had a hidden cayenne pepper kick. The salad seemed to grow as you got to the bottom of the bowl - lol. My house salad was also very fresh. Plenty of side items to accent the lettuce. The buttermilk ranch dressing is somewhat unique. It has a smooth and light buttermilk texture without a strong buttermilk flavor. There are hints of ranch dressing flavors. Nicely done! I ordered the BC meatloaf. This was a mountain of deliciously blended types of meats, onions, peppers & spices. You could pick up the short rib, brisket, bacon and ground chuck flavors. The collection was moist, nicely spiced & seasoned and delicious! There was plenty of fresh and perfectly steamed broccoli - nice crisp. The Mac & cheese side was done to perfection! Nicely cooked noodles along with a very smooth & creamy white cheese sauce. It was so delicious that I had to scrap the sauce from the bottom of the dish. Overall, Black Canyon is an outstanding place to dine. You always feel special whether it's a special occasion or just dinner out. Time in and time out...food & service are outstanding!!
