One of my favorite DC ramen shops finally made its way to Baltimore and it doesn't disappoint. This location has easier street parking and has a bit more space inside for seating than the og spot on H street. You can make reservations which is nice, the service here was as expected solid, fast and friendly. The quality of the ramen is still consistent which was what I was hoping for. I got a classic ramen which was warm and delicious like i remembered trying in DC. The appetizers were excellent, karaage was juicy and crispy and the dumplings were meaty and good. My friends got the curry ramen and the kimchi special which were all a hit. Flavorful and warming which made the perfect meal during this cold winter. Would recommend and will be back, definitely one of the better ramen joints in Baltimore!

Industrial bar/Japanese style interior with cool modern art everywhere. The food was phenomenal, I was really surprised. They spice up Japanese classics with delicious flavors. They have happy hour and regular pricing. Staff was nice and service was relatively quick. The menu is small but they make everything well

Toki Tokyo Curry Chicken Ramen (Pork Broth)

This food is so good! My fiancé and I shared a bowl of the Toki Curry ramen. It's just so comforting. Goes straight to our soul. I especially loved the fried chicken in the ramen. Pure perfection! We also shared the shrimp appetizer, which again was a perfect balance of juiciness, crunch and flavor! We also had the Yuzu Sake, which was refreshing. Overall, such a great experience! We ate at the bar which was excellent for sharing since we were sitting side by side. The spinning skateboards on the roof were such a fun touch.

Im a big fan of the DC location, so imagine my surprise when I discovered they had one in Baltimore! Every time I go i order the same dish: the Tokyo Curry. This one did not disappoint. I tried it with the chicken broth this time, but the server recommended the pork broth, so I'll have to check that one out on the next visit. I will say, this location uses smaller noodles by default, and I prefer the larger ones. They do have the larger noodles though if you'd like to substitute. For my drink I ordered a seasonal cocktail: Not Another Panupkin. It's like a pumpkin spice-y sake drink. Not bad, but not life-changing. All in all I had a great experience! The host and server were friendly and the meal was only slightly overpriced . Hope this helps!

On a whim, I decided to go to Toki one evening about 30 minutes before their closing, so I was able to enjoy a quiet quick meal at the bar. Friendly staff and GREAT music definitely made for an enjoyable visit. For starters, I had the pickle plate which was clearly a great choice, flavorful and crunchy. I got the Shitake Dan Dan Noodle dish as an entree. The dish was flavorful with nice textures, but unusually salty. I'm unsure whether this was just a miss night or what, but I'm reluctant to try this dish in my next visit.

Disclaimer: i was here for a Yelp event but ordered separately on their menu. Pavlova was so goood. Differing pronounced textures, not too sweet. Chicken Karaage was solid but I'd like a little bit more breading. My favorite thing on their menu is this summer cold noodle thing (sry don't remember the name). Refreshing sauce, good bite on the noodle. Crowd pleaser for sure. Ramen was mid. Advertised as spicy with mala but had to ask for more mala and more spice. I'm not crazy for spicy food but as served it knew it needed more umpgh.

Came on a Friday night - I would've loved to make reservations but the website only showed we reservations in DC and didn't allow me to change the location. I asked about this at the host stand and they had no explanation, I guess maybe try to call because it was packed. Luckily my husband and I were able to get bar seats. We got the Brussels sprouts to split which were SO good! Loved the mayo and fish flakes, they were sweet and crunchy. Definitely would recommend these. For entrees I got the Tokyo Curry Chicken Ramen and my husband got the Garlic Tonkotsu with Pork. Mine was excellent - the chicken was somehow still crispy even sitting in the broth. The broth itself was the star - super flavorful, sweet and spicy. Also loved the noodles and the soft boiled egg! My husbands was just ok - the pork was sort of mushy and tasteless. Service was friendly, quick, and they explained their dishes. We were in and out in about an hour. Next time I would get a reservation, I just don't totally know. Additionally, the location is definitely sketchy, not somewhere you want to walk too far so be mindful when parking and leaving any valuables in your car. Overall, I'd love to return to try some of the buns and other dishes. It is a small restaurant with mostly bar stool/high top seating which is uncomfortable for long periods, so pretty much somewhere just to eat and leave, not hang out. Keep that in mind if you want a nice night out with friends!

We went to Toki Underground on a random Wednesday. It was quiet and lowkey. We sat at the bar where you can watch the chef cook and the bartender craft your drink. It was such a vibe. There's an outside patio where I'm sure is delightful to sit out on during perfect weather days. I ordered the Toki classic ramen and tried the fried chicken steam buns. I love that the steam buns came deconstructed and you could build them up to your liking.

This is a quick bar only review. Came for a private event but supported the happy hour beforehand. Our bartender was very kind. I got the sangria and sampled a piece of my friend's chicken dumpling. I totally would like to have those again they were so good. The sangria was ok. The place is really cute .... I love the underground decor skateboards stickers noodles lol very edgy. I was very apprehensive about it being on in this neighborhood but we survived and the patrons were very diverse. The parking situation is insane maybe call ahead to get exact instructions on parking.

Food: dumplings, fried chicken buns and kimchi ramen are my faves. Drinks: great variety of sake available. Cocktails are interesting, some hit or miss for me. Service: very fast and friendly Ambiance: the main dining room is cute and cozy, the secondary one is a bit less friendly and the temperature in the winter fluctuates greatly from one end of the room (super hot) to the other near the doors (frigid)

Everything about this experience was good from start to finish. My group received a warm welcome when we arrived and we were seated at a great table. I had one of the sakes as my drink, and we split the shrimp and chicken appetizers. I chose the mushroom ramen as my main entree. Overall, ALL the food I was able to sample was amazing. Truly impressed with the food and highly recommend Toki Underground.

The food was great and didn't disappoint. With how much this place was hyped I expected they're to be a wait. Thankfully it was full but no wait. The service was fast within a few minutes the server had come over and taken the drink and starter orders. I had the maple beer wings which were a delicious start. I would say this app was enough for me but not for sharing. The maple came through and were fried perfectly. Would recommend. I had the toki classic ramen for the entree. Again, toki underground nailed it. Getting all the notes right. Decent serving of noodles and meat. It left a little bit of am aftertaste which was peculiar but maybe I was just imagining it. The decor was unique with rotating skate decks on the ceiling. At the end, I checked in with yelp to score some free stickers. So beautiful, so creative.

TIP: UBER HERE. The block that surrounds this location is very rough. We didn't have any issue - but if you're sensitive to this - you may want to be dropped off. We ordered a couple starters: bao buns (which came deconstructed) and I wasn't sure I liked it this way - especially when there's no knives to apply ingredients. The ramen was good - but with everything a la carte things added up quickly.

The service completely sucks!!! She it made seem taboo. Sooooo...I go stand by the doorway and after 1-2 mins I ask her what does she recommend I do...then she tells me I can stand at the bar. After that it took over 45 mins before the bartender acknowledged me. The bartender then tells me that they are not serving patrons who are standing because they're busy. The manager tells me to stand in a specific spot and the bartender was like I am not serving standing people..my thought: "this place does not want to make money" The bartender even comes back around and let's me know that someone is about to get up, which I did appreciate. Unfortunately, I do not recommend!!! Its not worth the hassle. Support a business that respects and appreciates your patronage.

I have never been splashed in the face during the shaking of a drink that was being made by the bartender. The bartender was of a different race and seemed annoyed by my presence from the jump. I did pay attention to his behavior while the woman was seated next to me and his drink mixing wasn't as aggressive. I had to go to the bathroom during my visit and told him I would pay before going to the bathroom so he wouldn't make any assumptions about me. I asked him to keep my drink behind the bar because the woman was still seated next to me. I came back and the woman eventually left. I was still finishing my drink and I was splashed 2 additional times. The last time I made him aware of what he was doing. His apology was disingenuous and passive aggressive. I left after this even though I had intentions on ordering desert and listening to the musicians that were about to get started. I did inform the manager about my experience prior to leaving. I'm leaving the review bc the experience still bothers me. If they have cameras at the bar I'm sure my reaction to the splashing can be observed.

The gentlemen who answered the phone was so kind, and was able to squeeze us in on the fly on a Saturday night, and they weren't slow. Got there super early because I was already in the area, and my wife and I decided to have an old fashioned and an espresso martini at the bar while we waited and they were excellent. The ambiance was upscale but still managed to be relaxed and comfortable. We had a lovely dinner, the waiter was busy but was still attentive and patient. Yesterday I realized a mistake on my bank account from the bar charge, so I called around 6 pm and spoke to the same gentlemen as before. He got all my info and promised he'd call back in 5 minutes.
