This was a great stop on ur Denver trip! Being from small town Kentucky, we wanted to try something we'd never tried before that we couldn't get at home. This hit all the requirements, and was really good! We really worked through the menu, getting a couple of bowls, fry bread, ribs, soup, and dessert. Everything we tried was very thoughtfully made, tasting both unique and familiar. I really liked the ribs, they were worth the wait and the hassle. The locale is unassuming, looking like a fast casual mix of Chipotle and Taco Bell. The staff was super chill and helpful with recommendations. Definitely check them out if you haven't!

Would definitely recommend! The flavors of the food were immaculate, I would go here over chipotle anytime. They have a bunch of different ways you can eat the food-- plates or bowls. Then you can build out your meal. My only note is that I wish that you weren't limited to two toppings, it'd be nice if you could get as many as you want. You have to get fry bread!

It is a rare treat to have the honor to eat at an establishment like Tocabe. I am so fortunate. I have been hoping to get to come here someday. What a feeling to walk into a fully Indigenous business and be in Community. Thank you, Tocabe. And for all patrons it is a gorgeous welcoming space. The food is fresh, delicious and amazing. And they offer vegetarian protein entrees!! I had the signature Indian Taco, vegetarian version. I chose the seeds to go with it and it was such a treat. My companions chose nachos. These plates were large potions. We also got dessert fry bread nuggets. So good. They serve Bow and Arrow beer which was a great find, love the Native collab. The place was hopping and we were here at an off hour. Eat good, feel good, support local, support Native American.

I had been wanting to try Tocabe for a while, and I especially love their philosophy, "Native first, local second." In addition to supporting small business owners, eating at Tocabe also supports the American Indian community and local farmers--a triple win! Servers were very helpful. When ordering, the first question asked was, "Have you dined with us before?" Our server recommended the Indian Taco plate, as it featured fry bread and a choice of meat and toppings. The plates are heaping, so be sure to go hungry or take some home for later. The fry bread is pillowy and delicious, and a good base for the ingredients. I like to be adventurous when I try a new place, so I selected the braised shredded bison (tender and flavorful), served with roasted green chiles and hot tomato sauce. The hot tomato is no joke with the habanero chile and jalapeño, so add a drizzle of sour cream and ancho chipotle to temper it a bit. Food is ordered in an assembly line style, and you take it to many of the tables throughout the space.

Fantastic place! You can't go wrong with fry bread, ever. I opted for the Indian Taco. This comes with fry bread on the bottom, your choice of protein - I went for the chicken, but the shredded bison also looked yummy - cheddar cheese, and two salsas of your choosing. They offer so many options for your meal construction, you literally just have to Tocabe and see for yourself. Tocabe, while it may seem familiar in terms of set up and ordering, specializes in Native American cuisine. We dined in and the place was very well kept, tables were clean, and the bussing area was cleared frequently. The staff helped us order since this was out first visit and I much appreciated the suggestions given to us. Yes to Tocabe!

Tocabe is hands-down our go-to place in Denver, and it never disappoints. Every visit reminds us why this spot is so special. The food is incredible--fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care--and the menu is truly one of a kind. It's not just a meal, it's an experience you don't find very often anywhere, let alone in the city. This year we even chose Tocabe for our anniversary dinner, which says a lot about how much we love it. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and everything feels intentional and authentic. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it absolutely shows in every bite. If you're looking for something unique, memorable, and consistently amazing, Tocabe is a must. Whether it's your first visit or your tenth, it always feels special. Denver is lucky to have a place like this!

Stopped here for a quick bite before going to the airport. It was recommended to us and pitched as Indian cuisine Chipotle and really really tasty. It did not disappoint! The staff was helpful in explaining the items and helping us choose. The service was quick and friendly when they brought stuff out to the tables. The restaurant was basic but good - very clean, good restrooms, comfortable tables / chairs. The food was incredible! Very saucy, very savory, some sweetness, lots of exciting new flavors. And the bread thing was so so yummy even for someone not very into breads.

This place is fantastic. I've never been anywhere like it and really excited to see one in DIA now as well. It's set up like a chipotle- you choose your base and meat and build your bowl. I loved the bison and the pomegranate sauce! Flavors are amazing and it's affordable.

    Tina C.

Wow!!! Their bowls and tacos are delicious, but the star of the show is the fry bread. It goes well as a taco shell or as the base for a dessert. Friendly and efficient service, great at answering questions and providing recs. Very clean interiors with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Easy parking. Support this awesome local business!!!

Went a second time to try the Indian Taco. Brought some friends this time. The same person was working, her name is Heather! Indian Taco was even better than the bowl, which I didn't think could be beat. I've never had frybread and it was so yummy. They loaded it up too! I really like the habanero butternut squash topping. It was a little busier this time around but more than enough seating and quick service! This will definitely be a lunch staple when I'm working in that area.

For a Chipotle-style restaurant setup this is great quality and still relatively affordable. Fresh frybread v good, not oily, v fluffy inside (sort of beignet style?). Bison ribs were flavorful on their own, more on the dry side, slight heat with a little sweet, nicely balanced. Prepare napkins!!! Can definitely split this between two people, but if you're hungry it's good for one :) Love that they source from other indigenous businesses, and love seeing more indigenous businesses popping up. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu when we're back in Denver! If you're in Sacramento, check out Seka Hills (and if you can catch the Bigfoot food truck, get the rez dogs and the blueberry fry bread if they have it). In Oakland, check out Wahpehpahs. If you're in Minneapolis, DEFINITELY do not snooze on Owamni. In Vancouver, also do not snooze on Salmon n Bannock. Ditto for Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in ABQ. I can't actually remember how Bow and Arrow in ABQ was but that probably means it was a p decent brewery lol Wherever you travel, always look up and support the local indigenous businesses!

My first experience with Native American cuisine and I was pleasantly surprised. There was a sign saying "bison ribs ready in 30 minutes to 2 hours" when we were ordering. Thankfully, they were available when we asked. I split two entrees with a friend. The food: Indian Taco with Braised Shredded Bison + chili beans, corn, cheese, and sour cream. This might have been my favorite bite of the whole Denver trip. The base is a circular piece of fry bread - soft but with a good thin crispy exterior. All the toppings working together gave the taco a ton of textures. It was very tasty and what I thought brought it all together was some kind of sweet and tart fruity sauce (cranberry?). Bison Ribs- tender, yet chewy. Surprised these are roughly the size of a pork rib (thought they would be monster sized bison ribs). The seasoning reminded me of beef jerky. This comes with two pieces of fry bread and a fantastic berry BBQ sauce (they should bottle this and sell it). Iko's Green Chili Stew - a stew loaded with potatoes and corn - comfort food Fry Bread Nuggets - small bits of fry bread coated with powdered sugar. Kind of like mini beignets. We dipped this in the Berry BBQ sauce and it took the dessert to another level. Overall, Tocabe is an amazing experience in an unassuming fast, casual restaurant.

    Crystal D.

I got the Indian taco with chicken. It was yummy! The "taco" part reminded me of a chalupa shell which I actually really enjoyed. I liked how you could customize it how you wanted. I do wish more than 2 toppings were included but its fine. Service was quick it was like a chipotle ordering situation and the inside was very clean. There was also plenty of parking.

Sure you should. So I had the time to drive 20+ minutes from work to get to the northside to try out the Little Wolf's burger bar located inside the establishment and called the "Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." (Don't ask me why.) I made the drive mainly because I'd asked AI where some of the best burgers were in Denver area and one of the answers (when I asked for "quality ingredients") was "Little Wolf/Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." Made the drive for the Durango-sourced Colorado Wagyu beef/cheese burger that cost just a bit more than $10 a pop. Rating right up at almost a perfect 5 stars, the drive was worth it. And what made it so great? Not just the burger, but because as soon as I walked in the proprietor's first words were, "Want an ice cream cone on us?" While I thought it must have been because of my stylish aplomb and in-command presence . . . turns out everyone gets the same offer. (What a great marketing idea:). Took my burger, which by the way, tasted great, but of course ate my soft ice cream teaser cone first. Turned out to be a fine idea. End result? When you're looking for a great place for a blue-collar burger at an extremely reasonable price be sure to make the drive to the northside to give Little Wolf's a bite. Having grown up with Italian heritage on both sides and parents who owned an Italian restaurant, I am notoriously hard to please when it comes to authentic cuisine. He was worried I'd be overcritical; instead, I was completely charmed. Located in a quaint, quiet neighborhood, Parisi offers the kind of authenticity that is rare to find. Here is why it earned a perfect score from a tough critic: The Main Course: The Tagliatelle Ragu was balanced and traditional--exactly what you want from a high-caliber kitchen. The "Woodfire" Factor: The aroma of the woodfire pizza oven hits you the moment you walk in. While we opted to eat inside rather than on the lovely patio, those scents alone convinced me that I have to return specifically for the pizza next time. The Grand Finale: I had to finish the meal with my favorite, Stracciatella gelato. It was the perfect creamy, artisanal end to a fantastic lunch. The service was seamless, the ambiance was inviting, and the food spoke for itself. If you're looking for a spot that feels like a true slice of Italy in the middle of Denver, this is it. I'll definitely be back to tackle that pizza menu!

Our bellies were full, satisfied, and we couldn't have asked for a better dinner. Walked in for dinner around 7:30pm on a weeknight. It was decently busy. We waited at the hostess stand. We waited and waited. A server walked by without acknowledging us. Another person walked by without acknowledging us. And yet another person walked by and guess what...didn't acknowledge us. Do we smell bad? Is this normal service around here? Who ignores people inside a restaurant? Imagine if someone walked into your house and wasn't greeted. Wouldn't that be odd? Admittedly, this is such a pet peeve of mine and my tolerance for it is zero. And because of this, your mind starts to wander. Oh, is it because they got a nod from Michelin? Are we not cool enough to be here? Are they a pretentious restaurant? Is my money not good enough? To be honest, I'm surprised we didn't walk out.
