Sunny's is in our neighborhood and we have heard great things but we don't go to breakfast/brunch often. My parents were visiting and we decided to go. Wow! We are so glad we stopped in. I got the breakfast burrito which is huge! The cheese is melted on the top which was interesting and great if you want to get it dairy free. The rest of the group got the skillet and the 2 eggs breakfast. Everyone loved their dish. One person wanted extra crispy bacon and boy did they get it! We had left overs so we brought them home and ate the rest of the burrito over another 2 meals! It was a bit spicy due to the chorizo and pork green chilis. They have a wonderfully diverse menu that I want to come back and explore a few more items. We sat outside with our dog and found parking down one of neighborhood side streets. read more

I was looking for some close new places to my office to try for lunch this week and decided to stop in. It was about 12pm and there was one other patron inside the cute little cafe. I was greeted right away and sat down to check out the menu. I chose a pancake and some bacon for my meal and didn't have to wait too long for it to come out at all. I had ordered a chocolate chip pancake but it came out with blueberries so they remade that for me. Normally I'd have just eaten it but I really am not a blueberry fan so I had to say something. The bacon was okay, they ask if you want regular or crispy. For regular it was pretty dang crispy so I can't imagine what crispy is like. The pancake was fine, they're pretty big so one was filling enough. Just wasn't wowed by anything so next time I'll have to try something else maybe a Benedict! read more

This is a nice find for breakfast in the sunnyside neighborhood. The chef at the time of my visit has southern roots, and the menu has inventive and soulful egg dishes. The wait was about a half hour on a Saturday morning, and the food took about a half hour but it was delicious. I have no criticism for the food. The restaurant itself is pretty small and was quite noisy. It was hard to hear our waitress' voice and the volume might be a too much for some young children that are sensitive to noise. read more

First and last time at this place! The food was gross and the establishment was DIRTY! Didn't look sanitary at all. It smelled in there like dirty wet rags. The only reason I'm giving any stars at all is because the waitstaff that helped us were fantastic. Super friendly and welcoming. They kept our drinks coming and made sure we were good. I really didn't feel like paying my bill since we didn't eat much of it because of the rubbery meat and overly cooked EVERYTHING ELSE! OOOH. MEEE. GAAAAWD! So glad Yelp recommended this location while we were in Colorado. We wanted some breakfast before we started our 3rd day in Colorado and found this location. This place is literally a hole in the wall but they provide outdoor seating. We decided to sit indoors and enjoy The Beatles playlist they had going. Our waiter, wish I could've gotten his name, was so funny and helpful. He informed us they had freshly baked cinnamon rolls, we decided to give it a try. So much yumminess! It was warm and delicious. Sad to leave a mid level review for this neighborhood spot, but it was very underwhelming sadly. It's just a run of the mill breakfast diner. The wait was about 20 mins on a Sunday morning at 9am, which was fine and expected. The seating was fine, and the tables were far enough apart that you don't feel like you're on top of people which was actually really nice. The diner was not too loud, and it was full of neighborhood folks. The service was fantastic. Our server was responsive, quick, kind, friendly. The -2 stars is for the food. The price and amount of food you get is great, compared to most places in Denver. But we found the food to be just meh. The skillet had good flavor but it was very undercooked. The potatoes were slightly warm but not fully cooked. Though the crispy cheese flake on top is an artistic touch, I would have just preferred regular shredded cheese on top. My guest got a Benedict that was also just meh, nothing special. And again, the potatoes were underdone. I ordered extra extra extra crispy bacon, and it came floppy. So sadly, this won't be a place we return to, but I do appreciate that it's such a neighborhood spot and feels very local. read more

Saw this place on Instagram. Looked really small in the yelp images so naturally I was expecting a wait since we stopped by on a Sunday later in the day. We waited on the sidewalk but it was a cool, sunny day so even though it was about a 35 min wait- it wasn't bad at all and after tasting the food... totally worth it. I saw on the menu that they make their own chorizo so I ordered the skillet which is a dish that had it and it was truly incredible. The best chorizo that I've ever had and I've had a ton of chorizo has a Hispanic. My friend ordered a benny (they call them Sunnies) and their version of it is almost like a McGriddle with pancakes as the bread! We also got the nutty waffle and I'm typically not a fan of nutter butter but it was literal perfection - creamy, crunchy, warm and not overly sweet. I sweet little spot in Sunnyside (just realized that pun) with yummy and quick breakfasts food. Surprisingly, we were able to get seated right away even though it looked pretty crowded. The waitress was kind and again, the food was quick. I got the Hipster and ate every bite. It was hard to choose because they had quite a few great options. It was affordably priced, which is hard to come by sometimes in Denver. That said, it wasn't all that inviting inside. I imagine this is because of COVID and the way that they had to spread out tables, etc. That would be my only "critique" or something I wished was a bit stronger! read more

I was SO excited to try Sunny's after spending hours trying to find a breakfast spot with waffles and outdoor seating that is open on Mondays. Once I got to the restaurant, I was bummed to see that the patio dining was closed due to construction 44th (as of first week in April), but that waffle was calling my name. I ordered the 2 two 2 (two pancakes, two eggs, meat), but substituted a waffle for the pancakes and added strawberries. The bacon was absolutely phenomenal and I could've eaten a whole plate of just that bacon! Unfortunately I really did not enjoy the waffle. It almost tasted like an intentionally healthy waffle made with brown rice flour/no sugar, which the menu suggests is not the case. I am not a waffle snob (I even love frozen waffles!) and rarely even touch the maple syrup, but I was really disappointed in the waffle and found myself trying to mask the taste with more syrup. My server was excellent and the prices here are incredibly reasonable. Portions are big and the vibes are great. There is also a bike rack right out front which is really convenient. Come here, but maybe consider some of the awesome non-waffle options! read more

I asked her what she recommended food wise and she told me to get the "goodnight" sandwich. Egg, tomato, avocado, chorizo, cheese all between 2 grilled cheese sandwich's. It was huge! Another five star weekend visit. Desiree was my server yesterday, but know that Nicole rolls with her on the weekends, and is equally as nice, efficient, and experience elevating. So, I had a plan. I stared at the menu, knowing I came in for the final MUST HAVE dish I have been looking at, and they took it off the menu. The sausage and pepper sandwich was gone. This place is still 5 stars, but it made me sad. Feel lucky if you got that dish before it vanished. ANYWAY, they don't serve booze, but the iced tea is delicious. Small place that is always full, so know that ahead of time. Food. I got the Aji this time. Solid. It doesn't displace my top two items, but it is still a fantastic dish. The Good Night is the best thing on Earth. When someone talks about putting breakfast in BETWEEN two grilled cheese sandwiches, then you must pay attention. The Boss is my second favorite dish, and the skillet would come in fourth. Whatever is on the chalkboard needs to be considered too. Let's call the chalkboard 2.5. The hot sauce is from the kitchen, some concoction of mixed hot sauces, but still is fun. This place is direct and to the point. No frills, fast service, but delicious in the end game. We keep going back, so it must be good. Thirty five minutes from home and we've discovered Sunny's. Sunny's is a cozy breakfast spot that we can't say no to and don't really want to at this point. Expect a bit of a wait, but so far they've quoted significantly longer than they've actually had us wait which is a welcome surprise to me. There's next to no space to wait inside so dress for the weather if you need to wait outside for a table. There seems to be plenty of street parking all around. I love that I get order one pancake. This is huge for me and likely a big part of what keeps me coming back. Their pancakes are so very yummy and I love the mix-ins. Dried cherries are my favorite so far. The breakfast potatoes were a little undercooked during our first visit but have been amazing ever since so that had to have been a fluke. We got here around 9am on a Sunday and had to wait a few minutes. The place is pretty small and gets full quickly! After being seated, our waitress was very quick and efficient with getting our orders and seeing if we had any questions. Food came out in a timely manner. Everything was delicious! I ordered the Delish. The pancakes were very soft and went well with the sausage and egg benedict. The potatoes were cooked well. Everything went together. We ordered to-go for some of our other friends, and even their food was still good. I was thankful we went when we did because after we were seated, I noticed a line out the door, so this place definitely gets a lot of business!
