My favorite location so far!!! If anyone were to ask me where should you brunch on Long Island, I would say to go to this Toast! First, I suggest you put yourself on the waitlist by using your Yelp app. This will save you from being cramped and waiting at the front of the restaurant for quite a while. I also like how the municipal parking lot is right across from the restaurant. Talk about prime location. Waking in and you'll notice the atmosphere is super fun. The walls are darned with carnival themed decorations. The floor itself is open and felt very spacious. We were seated and almost immediately greeted by our server. We started with our beverages. I got a chai tea latte which was amazing. My two friends got coffee and hot chocolate. It wasn't long after we put our orders in that we got our meal. My apple, bacon and Brie grilled cheese was to die for! I got it with a Greek salad as my side which was a comparable size. We all very much enjoyed our meal. I've been wanting to come here for awhile, but kept putting it off because the idea of facing a brunch crowd on a weekend sounds worse than the mall during holidays. That being said my expectations were pretty high, I had heard and read great reviews about Toast and my expectations were surpassed. As someone who loves breakfast foods, but feels that there are limitations to the creativity with meals, Toast offers an extensive menu with just about something for everyone. I ordered the Huevos Migas Omelet, which has chorizo sausage, tomato, green pepper, onions and jalapeño havarti. The omelet came with a side of toast and home fries there were out of this world. It was so freaken good that I'm still dreaming of when I may be able to have it again. Aside from the food, we were sat pretty right away, it was a Friday around 11. My favorite menu items are the Ranchero Quesadilla which is pretty much a quesadilla with scrambled eggs and a chipotle aioli sauce on honey whole wheat. Very good! Ordered a delicious lemon chicken salad to go this afternoon. When you call the restaurant you are prompted to visit their website to place your take out order. This was a little annoying because I was driving at the time on my lunch break, had limited time and had to find a place to pull over to go onto their website and place an order there. Minor inconvenience but an inconvenience nonetheless. I placed order at 12:30 pm on a Tuesday and when I went to pick up the salad at 12:50 there was not one parking spot in the entire lot. I don't know if people are parking here who aren't eating at Toast or what but even the street parking and the extra lot next door was completely full. I had to circle around many times and eventually parked illegally hoping I would only be a few seconds in the restaurant. The restaurant was about half full so again, really frustrating that I couldn't find anywhere to park. There were several people at the front door waiting to be seated and it took a bit of time for a staff member to come over and acknowledge I was standing there. It would have made a huge difference if one of the bartenders or a server passing by the host station said a quick, "Hey someone will be right with you" but there was none of that unfortunately. When someone finally did come over, my food was all ready to go. I am not sure why the salad is called lemon chicken because I didn't get any lemon from the salad, but it was really delicious. The mixed greens were fresh, chicken plentiful and not too much fat on there. Good amount of goat cheese and toasted almonds and dried cranberries. Definitely not the healthiest salad, but it was extremely filling and I had about half leftover for dinner. I got the sweet mustard dressing, which was just honey mustard, tasted fine, very rich. The salad came to $17 which isn't cheap. However I've had salads from other places that are more expensive and literally nothing is affordable these days. There menu was huge, definitely something for everyone. Overall, I would definitely come back. Hopefully there is somewhere to park next time. It would have been a very VERY expensive salad had I gotten a ticket on top of it! read more

We arrived a half hour before our reservation (1:45 pm Thursday) and were promptly seated. It was moderately busy, only a few open tables. It was a little confusing finding the front door, we actually attempted the correct door twice but it was a little rough when it actually opened. Our waiter was patient and kind. He answered any questions we had and was never pushy. I can't stand when people try to rush you, personal pet peeve, never got that feeling here. They close at three and didn't push anyone out either. I ate the BLT with avocado it was great, but beware a thick sandwich requiring a big bite. We visited back in September and it was an okay time. There was a wait as my sister told me we should expect but it was during the week and not that bad at all. It was very difficult to get the waitress the entire time. More than once we needed drinks or utensils or napkins and she was just too occupied elsewhere. My sister said she's had this server before and it's just the way she is. The food was good and the portions were fair. The different combos looked delicious, even at the other tables so it was difficult to decide. The place was very loud but it was for brunch-not like you need romance anyway. All in all, just okay. Love the toast location that is in Long Beach. Coming to the Bay Shore location was very different. The food was good but the service was terrible. The server was rude and the service was poor. I didn't receive my coffee until well into my meal, even though it was ordered when I sat down. When I ordered pancakes the syrup didn't come and we couldn't flag anyone down until 20 minutes later when my food was cold. My husband went to pay and the waitress took his payment and just walked away and said nothing as he waited for a receipt and she never came back.
