It's been 2 weeks and no answer and they keep pushing us off saying they are opening a new store and they are to busy. Very disappointing since we heard great things about their ice cream but not very reliable since we can't even get an answer if they have availability. Can't wait forever. Ice cream was yummy! And I would say I recommend it except the place needs more help so a possible 4 is now a 3 star review. The line was long even for a Friday night. The poor girl behind the counter was all by herself in the store to serve the entire line. The tables were a mess because prior customers didn't clean after themselves. The owner should hire a second person to help with the line and keep the tables clean. We went in because my husband wanted soft serve. Unfortunately there was a sign that the machine was closed for the winter...it's been Spring for a few weeks. A few kids' ice cream options were also out of stock. We ordered ice cream scoops which were a little soft, as if the freezer wasn't cold enough or the door was opened too long. I loved the aesthetic of the place! Super cute. The ice cream flavors were delicious! I ordered the Irish cream over Mississippi mud in a waffle cone. The texture was so good too! The Islip location has been a long time favorite of mine because the ice cream is delicious. I even go there on the coldest of winter days because I love it that much. The only downside is the staff rotates a lot and so does the quality of what you get. Lately it's gotten worse. The staff they have now doesn't really care & doesn't care to hide it. They aren't very friendly & are stingy with toppings which is kind of a big deal when making sundaes, especially at this price point. Better training or more QA on the part of the owners is needed here. I would be sad to move on but I'm getting tired of being disappointed. read more

3.5 but will round up for nice service. I had a medium, two scoops, cannoli and chocolate peanut butter fudge. The CPBF was way better than the cannoli, which quite a bit of ice crystals in it. But the chocolate was very rich and creamy so that made up for it. My guess is this is overall a good spot, maybe just be sure to sample the flavors you want before picking. read more

If you read my reviews, I am a chocolate person. I've been to Coyle's in Bayshore a few times. Their chocolate ice cream and fudge is super fresh and tasty. Since we were near the Islip area last night, we had to try their other location. Wow. It was not good at all. I can't explain the taste, but it tasted like practically nothing. This seems like a pretty normal ice cream place that has a lot of flavors. I had a mix of the banana oreo and the coffee. Both tasted okay, but way too sweet for me. The banana flavor seemed very artificial and the coffee tasted okay, but just so so sweet. I wasn't a fan of the texture of the ice cream either. Both flavors I got seemed sort of icy and was not the smooth creamy ice cream I was hoping for. For the amount of ice cream you get, it's actually quite expensive. Loved this little ice cream shop. I think what made our experience so great was the counter guy ! I think his name might have been Danny. He was soooo sweet. Was patient with taking all our orders despite us being super indecisive! He even started casual conversation and recommended some flavors. My godson did not want his ice cream so Fanny was kind enough to wrap it for us and put it in a freezer so that it wouldn't melt while we were still eating our ice creams. He made this visit such a delight On to the main event.. the ice cream. It was delicious. I ended up getting pistachios and Nutella ! We swung in to the Main Street stop and were greeted with a tiny 50's style ice cream parlor (their business card is accurate in promotion). There's oodles (yes oodles) of hard ice cream choices, with plenty of classics as well as original concoctions. Monster Mash was my decision which was chocolate in base and then mixed with peanut butter, pieces of ice cream cone, caramel, and other things that I honestly don't remember because the employee had me at those lovely words of peanut butter. I went with a small size which was more than enough as it packed a great punch of chocolate and peanut butter taste. The cone pieces were interesting in theory, though a little chewy upon consumption. Overall, Coyle's delivered some quality homemade ice cream, and I'm sure to return, though next time I'd like to check out the other location. read more

All the flavors are good as at this point, i've sampled almost all of them, so you'll be happy with whatever you choose. The staff isn't the friendliest and they are pretty expensive for the size of the scoop you get. However, it's my go to place after I have Koi Kokorro which is right next door.
