Our experience here was good but felt like it could have been great. My girlfriend and I split the Walla Walla Restaurant Month menu (salad + beef short ribs + huckleberry cheesecake), a pork loin entree, and two lovely cocktails, one elderberry and the other an Earl Grey whiskey sour. The Good *The Earl Grey sour was delicious. We both love whiskey sours and good tea, so this was a dream for us. Nice and smooth with the egg white. *The huckleberry cheesecake. Especially for a restaurant month menu, this was a huge slice of cheesecake, served with a big dollop of whipped cream. We were already full but squeezed it in. The Could-have-been-better *The salad looked wonderful with all of its citrus but just didn't have much flavor. *The beef short ribs were pretty good, but I felt like I've made better polenta at home. *The pork loin was total comfort food. It felt kind of like a pot roast to me. Good and a very ample portion, but maybe not worth the price. *The elderberry cocktail came in a glass loaded with ice. It was strong and there was plenty of it, but I just would have preferred less ice, where it felt like it was a race against time not to make it watery. The bad *Man, I was so disappointed that we told the waiter we had two birthdays in our group, he wrote it down in his order-book, clearly, and then he did nothing for us. Meanwhile, at the table next to ours, where they had another server, their desserts came out with candles on them and the waitress shared extra birthday cheer. I don't need a birthday song, especially not in the middle of covid, but why didn't our waiter even bother with candles? Why even write something down in your book? We were in town to celebrate my Mother-in-laws 90th birthday We were very excited to take her out to dinner, especially since she doesn't go out to eat much. We landed on TMACS because of the variety of the menu, specifically the vegetarian options for Mom. Let's just say that everything we experienced needs improvement. We were a medium size group and the server provided no options, I had to pry for him to tell us which options would give everyone a some appetizer. My brother in law wanted a Pina Colada without alcohol, he just told him "we can't do that". Again, we had to ask numerous questions to get him to provide an option which, the server ultimately did not provide. As the evening progressed the server just disappeared, did not really care about how we were doing. When I left the table to use the restroom he was flirting with the bartender. He made no suggestion for accompaniments for the food and all our meals except one where cool or cold. Additionally, although our pasta dishes were not very saucy, they did not properly coat the noodles - the noodles were DRY. The restaurant was clean but loud, even in the corner they placed us. At the end, even though the server knew it was her birthday HE DID NOTHING. And then we all just wanted to leave. Very disappointing, don't think we will be back. It's a shame since all of us at the table own land in the area...I wish we had gone to the other restaurant option we were considering but they were closed on Wednesday. read more

We were in town for the weekend for an event that also happened to fall on our anniversary. I picked this place because it appeared elegant and it was close to our Airbnb. Our reservation was for 8:30, realizing it was close to closing but that was because of earlier said event. Their reservation system was pretty neat and they texted me a few times to confirm, said they could get us in earlier but explained why we couldn't and they understood. We did arrive about 15 minutes early and got a table with only one other guest by us. After being told they were out of the Mushroom Bruschetta (no harm there being we were last ones of the day but my boyfriend was sad) we ordered salads, mine the Buratta and his the Garden House. The fried buratta itself was yum but I didn't care much for the kumquat cranberry gastrique dressing. And the prosciutto was just pulled from its package and placed on the bottom of the plate. Not bad, just not what I had envisioned. For the main course I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese, and he ordered the Wild King Salmon. Both were pretty good. The pasta was rich, I couldn't eat it all. The bummer was his salmon was overcooked and dry in spots, but when he got a good bite he said it was delicious. The gentleman dining alone by us got up to leave and stopped by our table. He raved about this place to us and said we absolutely had to order dessert. We didn't do that though because by the time we were done with our dinner, it was already 10 minutes after closing and we didn't want to be rude. Overall, it was a beautiful restaurant with wonderful service, pretty good food and the price was just right. I doubt we will be back in Walla Walla anytime soon, but if we are, we will stop by for dessert! read more

DON'T trust their Resy reviews. We complained about our meal served on 5/23/24 at 6:30pm and received an email from Resy that our reservation was cancelled at 7:46 pm. Resy only will post reviews from people who actually ate there. Nice trick TMACS!!! Subpar, lukewarm seafood risotto was served with multiple ingredients substituted or missing. No receptacle provided for empty clam shells (one of the sustitutions) I was contacted by the owner of TMACS who offered a refund for my meal. That was a nice gesture, but it still seems to me that RESY reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. If the only people allowed to review a restaurant are those that dined through reservations on the RESY system and a restaurant deletes your reservation after the fact, how can you trust the ratings? The owner also stated that only the owner of the restaurant receives the RESY review. If that is true, how does RESY create a rating? Does the restaurant owner choose their own rating? huh? read more

Updating to 5 stars! Don't know why I haven't been here more often. You should definitely pop in here for some dinner! I had the king salmon (miso glazed), and it was so perfectly cooked, my mouth was in heaven. The salmon sat on parsnip puree that was very tasty! The entrée was nicely priced at $18 too. I think I'd have paid far more in a bigger city. I shared an order of the roasted winter veggies. Great taste of a variety of veggies (carrots, potatoes, squash, etc.) with one of my favorite flavors, ginger! If you order this side, you'll probably want to share because it is definitely on the big side (or plan to take some home). Our waiter was attentive and courteous. He gave us the dessert menus and let us know that there was a substitute for the sorbet and instead they had a blood orange sorbet and a poppy seed cookie. YES, PLEASE. The reviews brought me to TMACS, so maybe my hopes were just too high? It felt like a restaurant that had just opened and the waitstaff and kitchen were still trying to find their way. I'm looking at this based on their menu and price point. They don't come off as your basic sandwich/burger place. They give the impression that you're going to have a more upscale dining experience. The servers were very nice, but seemed to not be engaged. Little things like serving the wrong plate to the wrong person. Other tables were given refills of their water by a server. Mid meal, they dropped off a pitcher of water to our table so we could refill our own water. It wasn't like were were guzzling water. They hadn't even refilled our glasses once at this point. I'm not sure if we got the right glasses of wine or not...they just kind of sat them down and hurried away. This was the same with our food. The brussels sprouts salad was good. But, it was huge. I would have appreciated being able to order a half size. It would have been perfect as a starter. My dining companion liked the asparagus soup. I had the Chilean Sea Bass. It was basically served in a bowl. It looked very pretty, but was impossible to eat since everything was stacked on top of each other. It was supposed to be seared, and it seemed to be poached. The risotto cake just disintegrated. The baby carrots looked nice but were barely cooked. I couldn't get a fork in them or cut them with my knife. I was pondering what to do when I saw the woman at the next table finally reach in and grab a carrot to eat it with her hands. That was really the only way to do it. The sauce was lovely, but couldn't be utilized since it was stuck in the bottom of the bowl. I felt like I was stuck in an episode of Chopped. My dining companion said the Bolognese was okay. I saw a review from someone a few days ago who also had a 3 star experience (which I ignored as a one-off). It seems my visit was very similar. At this price point, you just expect more. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at TMACS. Not only was it Valentines Day, but it was our first time dining at this particular restaurant. The service from our waiter and the other staff members who served us was wonderful. So nice, accommodating, knowledgeable, and our waiter gave us great suggestions which made our experience that much more memorable. The restaurant was beautiful, which made for great photos. The food was down right incredible. We shared the Brussel Sprout Salad which was delicious. I would compare that salad to a dish I had in a restaurant in Brooklyn, NY last year. I had the Agnolotti, which was again outstanding. My husband had the Beef Tenderloin, which was a little too rare for his liking, but he did eat practically the whole thing. We finished with the huckleberry cheesecake, which my husband said was the best dessert he ever had. Needless to say, our experience was terrific and we will choose TMACs over some of our "go-to" restaurants in Walla Walla. We will be recommending TMACs to everyone! I called at the last minute for a reservation and Tom answered the phone. He was so warm and caring as we both lucked out to find the stars were aligning. A 7:30pm spot opened up. The second we arrived I felt back home in NY. Tom's contagious friendliness and the ambiance. He sat us at I thought the best seat in the house. Up on the balcony overlooking the whole restaurant. The temperature upstairs was perfect because of how they positioned the air system. Ricky our server made us feel well taken care of and our bus girl was so sweet we wanted to hire her for dog sitting. We weren't that hungry but started with their perfect Campari to help our appetites more. We ordered the house salad and the dressing was amazing- the greens look d like they just picked them from the garden. Our next dish was lamb chops. The ultimate night out dining experience! After a long day of wine tasting, I made a reservation for dinner at TMACS. The ambience was perfect for a date night, the service was excellent and the food was incredible. They have a large assortment of signature cocktails and a nice wine list as well. The Ahi is such a great light bite for a starter, followed up by some in house pasta! I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff here! I booked on OpenTable but the restaurant quickly notified me the table I was booked under wasn't available but the bar was. This was perfect for me as I'd prefer the bar. Unfortunately, my day ended quicker than I anticipated but they happily accommodated me even as it was the peak of business. The bad: we came with a mixed family of 7... as SOON as we sat down, we asked if we could talk about splitting the bill, the waiter told us NO NO NO and assured us that we shouldn't worry about it, that our bills would be split up by seat. Dinner ended.. and we were delivered one check. when we asked about splitting it up by seat, he told us it was too complicated and got angry and defensive when we protested and reminded him that he assured us early on that we could split it up. Came here for lunch one day and I have to admit this is such a beautiful space. Whoever designed and chose all the decor had really good eye. The service was great. We were greeted very quickly and then was sat quickly. By the way, reserving a table is very easy through their website. We ordered and shared the asparagus soup, house garden salad and the Wagyu burger and fries. The soup and salad was surprisingly very well executed and very good. The burger on the other hand was not mid rare as we had requested. It came out med well borderline well done.
