Sweet Basil Pizzeria is a great, friendly place to get a slice, a pizza, a calzone, or a salad. If you wait your turn long enough, you'll see the pizza maker throw up the dough to stretch it out. We got one slice of pepperoni and a slice of their cheese with ricotta. We also ordered the bra and Caesar salad. I was thrilled they had fountain Coca-Cola products, so I made my Coke Zero and cherry Coke mix. You order at the counter, and they give you a number and quickly bring you your food. The pepperoni pizza was OK, but I loved the cheese with ricotta on it the most. Baratta salad was our favorite of the two salads we got. We sat at a booth inside, where a TV was playing baseball. My go to place for lunch in Walla Walla. Love the Jalapeño pizza slices on Wednesdays. Even though by the slice, the crisp up the crust so not limp and soggy. Love all the slices. Great local beers on tap from Burwood. Always a favorite. Highly recommend! read more

Some of their pizzas are alright but despite their "sometimes you need a hug and some pizza" sign, the vibe here isn't great. I don't generally eat pizza from chains so I expect to pay for good pizza by the slice or pie. However, the value and service are just okay. Sometimes the crust can't hold the toppings. Really busy Saturday night downtown pizza place. We phoned in our order and they said it would be ready for pickup in 45 minutes. We showed up on schedule and by the time we paid for it they were slicing and boxing it. Both pizzas were thin crust and delicious as were the side salads. Bonus! No fresh basil - though there did seem to be some dried basil. SERVICE: 4.5. Very friendly and considerate when we picked up our pizza. Note that it is possible to modify a menu item when ordering via Doordash by using the comment dialog box when ordering: we asked that pepperoni be added "if possible", and that we would pay the extra charge. It was ok. Nothing special and service barely existed.. Stopped in for a slice, 5 people working, nobody else in line. They all looked at me and kept doing other things. Finally guy tossing dough asked girl to wait on me. Asked for slice and she rung me up. Then within a minute or so she drops slice next to me and walks away. Here on a work trip and was recommended to stop in. Had their special loaded baked potato pizza and it did not disappoint! The slice and caprese salad was delicious and at a really fair price. We got our salad first and after a bit of a wait, queried about the pizza. It was busy and our slices had gotten forgotten (no big deal, worth the wait) and we were offered a free slice to go to make up for it. Don't take my 6/10 as saying the food is bad. It's not. There's just several issues I have elsewhere. They make great, unique, high quality pizza. They even sell it by the slice. (I didn't check the per-slice price, so I can't vouch for it being a good deal.) They have Wi-Fi, or at least, I have the password. I can't remember if that's common knowledge. They take a little bit to get the pizza out, which isn't an issue, but with everything else, it kinda lowers my rating. While they are making it fresh, and it can be somewhat busy, it just seems a bit longer than I'd expect. But I could be being too harsh. Here are my real criticisms. I wasn't extremely satisfied with the customer service. It wasn't bad, but it was very specific, and not a type I like. I guess. It's not run-down inside or anything, but I feel like it just exists. There's no atmosphere to enter into. But there is table service, which is nice. But overall, I think people like this place enough to keep coming back. Which is good, because the food is excellent and unique. I have no REAL problems with this place. I just think it's my dislike of pizza in GENERAL, that tears this down to such a low rating. (Although, this may not be SO beloved in town. I don't know. I just know the people that I knew from the university, didn't go maybe...ever?) read more

I love this place! My favorite part is the individual slices of pizza; it's perfect for when you're craving pizza but you don't want to completely lose control by buying a whole one and potentially eating the whole thing. I would usually get the margarita pizza and it was so good. Thin crust, great ratio of cheese to sauce and lots of flavor. The cheese bread is amazing and the salads are too! I went in to get a pizza during the parade of lights going through downtown WW and it was super packed in there, so I was considering going somewhere else. However, upon walking in I could see how efficient they were pumping out pizzas, so I decided to stay. Ordered and paid very quickly and then waited for my pizza. Considering how many people were in queue before me, I was very pleased with how fast mine came out. It was seriously like watching the OG Henry Ford Assembly line. The pizza at this store tastes great but it is about $25-30 per pizza and the service is slow. My last two internet orders took 20 and 25 minutes longer to prepare than the estimate meaning it takes about 40 minutes to an hour to prepare a pizza. Even a short drive home and the pizza is already cold maybe due to timing of the oven, service delays, and the low quality boxes used. For $30 each pizza, the service should be better than it is. read more
