Tonight we tried Big Cheese Pizza because it looked like one of those true local hidden gems... and it absolutely delivered. The vibe is exactly what you hope for in a hometown pizza spot: small dine-in area, nostalgic arcade games, an air hockey table, and genuinely friendly staff who make you feel welcome the second you walk in. Most people seemed to be grabbing takeout, but we stayed and ate there -- because fresh pizza is the best pizza! We ordered the classic pepperoni pizza, the garlic cheese bread, and the Royal Hawaiian pizza -- and everything was fantastic. The garlic cheese bread disappeared embarrassingly fast, the pepperoni pizza nailed that perfect classic pizza flavor, and the Royal Hawaiian was the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and cheesy goodness. Yeah this is the most consistent pizza spot in town. They have great salads too. When we have large parties and need 10 or more pizzas - this is our go to spot. They are hot, fresh and tell you when your pizza will be ready for pick up. They have it down to a science. Their price point is hard to beat. So an easy 5 stars. I was out in Walla Walla with my brother for some business and decided to try Big Cheese for some lunch and let me tell you I (we) were not disappointed. When you first walk in you are hit with the look of an old school weekend pick-up pizza night joint. A few tables were inside for some quick bites with a few games for the young ones. Very friendly employees. As for the pizza and the cheese bread, I don't even know where to begin. With what we ordered it it could have fed probably 4 if not more people. The pizza had the perfect amount of cheese and was cooked just to perfection, as for the bread... oh my! The bread was so cheesy and gooey... Just delicious... I definitely will be going back when I'm in town again or even just to make the special trip for some good (great) pizza. read more

Salad was big enough to be a meal by itself. With 4 people, we took almost a whole pizza home. They have a couple of tables outside and about 5 tables inside. Employees are very friendly. This is a very casual restaurant with a few games you can play, including air hockey. Just remember, if you are dining in, they do not have plates. All of our food was very hot, except the salad, and very delicious. This family run pizza place puts all of the chains to shame. read more

The prices for pizza and salad are very reasonable. The single salad feeds 2 adults with some leftover. The larger size probably feeds the whole neighborhood. This is our "go to" place when we want to pick up a quick pizza "to go." (See what I did there?) My six-year-old grandson loves their air hockey table. Solid pizza. Its not quite as nice as it used to be, but its still solid. Good pricing and quick service too. Defintely a solid value.

A little inconsistent, but when they hit, they hit right. The pizza is a normal, greasy pie, and there's nothing wrong with that! Service has always been good. They do charge a service fee if you pay with a credit card, and they don't do a good job letting you know that. It is posted, but not in a spot you'd think to look, and your cashier won't tell you unless you ask. Not a great place to sit at. No plates. Just a sheet of paper. Good place to grab pizzas for a party or a lazy night. Or whenever you feel like that "gut bomb" craving. read more

Came in today and wow I felt so unwelcomed. As soon as I pulled in there were two girls at the register staring me down from inside the restaurant. A little odd but it's okay. When I walked in I wasn't greeted and instead the looks continued. As my boyfriend and I went to pay it turned into dirty looks directed at him. I don't know why the atmosphere was like this I have never had a poor experience here but these two girls made it an uncomfortable place to be in. read more

I feared this result but defended that fear as being "hungry" and motivated to not leave the TV set for the ball game. I ordered the thin crust medium supreme described as "crispy" and received the soggiest, nastiest, greasiest, medium blob of under-cooked dough that you could ever imagine putting in a pizza carton! How is greasy & doughy ever described as crispy? Never again will I eat pizza in this town! If you like quality prepared pizza as described, this is not your place! I threw over half my $20 purchase out as totally inedible! You have been warned, from my experience, trust me that this is really poorly prepared pizza! As you can see by my over 400 reviews, I rarely give a one star rating to any business but in this case the quality rating is lower then a zero! You're not going to get world class pizza, but it's cheap, large helpings and they have a drive thru. You can feed a large family (3 teenage boys) for under $30 and still have leftovers. It would be so easy to be ultra-critical with Big Cheese. It certainly isn't going to be the best pizza you've ever had. It's safe to say it won't even crack your Top 10 list. Service tends to be average at best more often than not. Some menu items are bad enough to be something you'd see at a greasy spoon in a town of 50 (I'm looking at you salad and chicken wing options) Big Cheese fills a need in this town. Other than 1-of-maybe-3 other pizza places in town, Big Cheese is that local, family owned place that focuses on delivery, take-out and massive value-to-portion ratio. A pizza place like this is always a must in a smaller city, and really, Big Cheese does it well. The value is there. Portions are great. Lots of cheese, lots of sauce, lots of food. Prices are spot on and their daily and weekly specials for takeout and delivery can compete with the big chains for sure. Flavors are decent. I've had much, much worse in pizza. And really, I'm kind of a fan of a couple of their "gourmet" pizzas (with emphasis on the taco pizza) and their sub/calzones. I've never had a problem with delivery yet, and that's important in a town with literally 3-4 delivery options. Always prompt, friendly and hassle-free. Inexpensive, plentiful, fast, present at any social gathering at which one is expected to provide food, what with this being Walla Walla and all. But the pizza is still pretty average. Bonus half-star because I played Bubble Bobble there for a minute and a half while we were picking up food for a get-together. There are specials every few weeks, and I guess that's a selling point provided one wants additional average pizza. I don't know anything else about the Big Cheese menu, aside from the fact that the flour is supposedly high in protein and that the crust is kind of gooey and failed to endear itself to me.
