This is hands down our favorite restaurant in the area. I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review! We've been coming here for a few years now, and there's a reason we keep coming back. The food, service, cocktails and wine, and ambiance are all wonderful. It's a great spot for a date night, girls' night, or a relaxed drink at the bar. We've had many wonderful servers over the years, but Terra has helped us the most, and she is wonderful! We also had our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding last year, and they did not disappoint. In fact, they exceeded our expectations, especially while accommodating a group of 10+ and our (at times) difficult family! Katrina was our server, and she truly went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. A huge thank-you to the entire team for making our night so special and for their amazing hospitality. I can't say enough good things about Passatempo and highly recommend it to everyone I know who is visiting town! read more

Delicious Italian food on Main Street Walla Walla. We enjoyed a variety of dishes including a Pork Belly Pizza, Milanese and a Pasta dish. Passatempo Taverna was very noisy this evening. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. read more

We were so disappointed in our dinner experience at PaSSatempo. The hostess sat us in a walkway and told us the table down a ways would not work because they were turning it into a four top. Five minutes later she sat it as a two top. The food was tasty, but the pasta was under cooked and chewy. We were very disappointed. read more

Burrata melon salad was 10/10! A must order for sure! I'd come back just for that! Pasta was a bit dry and a little under in my opinion but I know many love this place so it may have just been rough end of night situation. For sure give this place a try, the restaurant is beautiful and the staff is great! read more

Passatempo is a must stop for us when we come to Walla Walla. The food is absolutely delicious, and the pasta always is a stand out for us! They have a great selection of wine, cocktails, etc. staff is always professional and friendly, and very attentive. Additionally, the space is beautiful and features multiple seating areas for guests to enjoy. It is worth the price point, and you can certainly make it a more affordable meal depending on what you choose to eat/limit your drinks. read more

Delicious, flavorful food! We had a group of 6 and all continue to rave about this spot Our waitress was well knowledgeable on the menu and drinks. She recommended the right amount of food for our group and helped figure out which drinks we'd like. The food itself was so fresh! Can't stop thinking about this place. We were recommended this place by 2 peers and it didn't disappoint. It's also super cute spot to go with friends or on a date. read more

This is my second time eating at this restaurant and it does not disappoint. Service is consistent, knowledgeable, and engaging. Waitstaff are attentive yet not disruptive to our conversation. The space, inside and outdoors is great. Small groups, large groups, and more intimate gatherings all will find a spot that works for them. Then there is the food. The menu is centered around an Italian theme , but it's broader than just pasta and pizza. Of course it's Italian and Walla Walla so the wine list is robust with a broad selection. Whether it's a date night for two or after work group, or a couples dinner this place needs to be on your list for fresh food cooked just right. Last note: ask your server about their bruschetta- fresh made sour dough bread fresh cherry tomatoes tapenade, smooth burrata cheese, greens, lite drizzle of lemon infused olive oil. read more

We were visiting for the weekend and this place was recommended by so many people. The downstairs ambiance was really nice, but we were seated upstairs, where it didn't have quite the same vibe. It was brighter, more open, and honestly felt a bit like the section where they send the "uncool" kids. Also, due to the extremely high ceiling height, it was impossibly loud. * Spicy pepperoni pizza was delicious, and everything tasted fresh--especially the mozzarella. * Carbonara was a standout. Classic Roman-style, with no cream, just a silky sauce from egg yolks and cheese. It was rich, cheesy, and smooth, but surprisingly didn't feel too heavy. * We got the tiramisu to go, and that was a huge miss for us--plus it was $12 for a tiny slice. Service was prompt, but it felt cold. Our server hardly smiled and came across as very robotic. When we asked about the menu or the wine, she gave one- or two-word answers and didn't attempt to elaborate or make any suggestions. While the food was good, we didn't think it was phenomenal, especially given how highly it was recommended. read more

You'll have a different experience depending on where you sit at this amazing bistro in downtown Walla Walla. The bar is spacious, but fills up during happy hour. The main dining room can be noisy, but the patio can be a peaceful place for dinner, depending on the weather. (Walla Walla evenings can be quite warm during the summer.) I would recommend making a reservation, and letting them know where you'd prefer to sit. They'll do their best to accommodate large groups and families! read more

Where do I start? We were recommended to come here by a high-end resort: Abeja Inn. From check-in to bartender to server (Katrina) = impressed. Katrina spent way too much time with us. (Poor girl) telling us everything we needed to know about everything here being freshly prepared, etc. The bar here was so good that next time I come I want to stay close so I can just come to the bar and have a drink and an appetizer The bar menu was so creatively thought out they have drinks that belong in a New York City five star restaurant But we're in Walla Walla friends. Onion ---yes. Food... nope. Not even commenting. COME HERE. TRUST ME. read more

We loved Passatempo and would go back in a heartbeat. The patio outside is beautiful with lush greenery and a small water feature that we sat next to. Everything we ordered was really flavorful, delicious, and beautifully plated. Our server, Alyssa, was very sweet and helpful. The Gem Lettuce Salad was tasty and a good portion for two to split before the main course. The Polenta Filled Agnolotti blew our minds. Truly. SO good. We had a side of grilled asparagus with crispy garlic slices, which complemented our pasta meal perfectly. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to stay for a tiramisu dessert, but will be back another time to enjoy that. read more

This is one of those places that locals and tourists alike recommend and I can see why . We arrived around 7:30 PM and were promptly seated in the courtyard .I really appreciated the variety of seating options: cozy booths if you want something intimate, open areas to relax in, more structured formal seating if that's your vibe, and of course, classic bar seating The staff was warm, offered thoughtful suggestions, and even made time for a little friendly chat when their schedule allowed. we started with some cocktails and the Focaccia which came highly recommended. Honestly I wasn't the biggest fan--it didn't feel very "focaccia-like" to me--but it was still good bread. The wine selection is extensive and rich and offers a lot of variety. Next we ordered the carbonara , some Hand rolled Pork and prosciutto meatballs and Burrata & Asparagus Panzanella. Everything tasted stellar and the portions were very good for sharing . I really wanted to get a dessert but apparently 'stomach at capacity' is a real thing . If I had to note a downside, it would be the pricing. The menu items--including cocktails--seemed slightly above average for the city. It felt a bit unwarranted. That said, I would still return. read more

There will always be outliers. It doesn't matter what context; the distribution curve is a long continuum. It is just so strange to me that Passatempo has been caught in the vortex of the Gaussian curve. Passatempo is so much more than a 4-star restaurant. They represent the type of dining experience that places a premium on experience. I truly believe this is where the disconnect exists. If you read the reviews, you find that much of the discontent is with the timing of the experience at the tavern. However, Passatempo is at the pinnacle of the slow-food experiences. Think about the last time you dined at an osteria in Rome? I loved our dining experience. We had a lovely family evening seated in the courtyard. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. We had several different dishes, perhaps over-ordering a bit, and loved every bite. From the fresh made pasta to the pizza and salads, the food was spot on. The pork chop was lovely - moist, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. In the spirit of the osteria tradition, Passatempo offers house-branded Vino da Tavola, table wines. Add to the mix the summer cocktail special (we had a Negroni special), and it's a great start to any meal. Honestly, this is a true destination kind of place. Don't be put off or misled by the seemingly low Yelp rating. Passatempo is a 4.8 kind of place. One thing - as you probably expect, the restaurant is busy. Make a reservation. We used Resy and got an early dining slot the same day. read more

Made reservations nearly a month in advance and stated one of us is a vegan. Offered a fairly bland vegan salad with little dressing. Entree was spaghetti with a bland runny cashew based sauce with peas and cucumbers -- we were so nonplussed, we sent back the entree. Note: vegan does not equal bland -- break out.the spice rack. The other entree was a pork chop with charred cauliflower -- it was excellent. For dessert we had nectarine sorbet with chocolate sauce -- it was great. House Chardonnay & Alysa our server were exceptional. read more

Ate here on a Sunday evening. Everything about our experience was perfect! We were seated at a table overlooking the outdoor patio. Our server was super friendly and was very knowledgeable about the menu and the specials for the evening. We started with the meatballs, which were tasty but a little pricy for what you got. The appetizer special was a sourdough toast with greens, fresh burrata, and a nutty tomato spread that was delicious! We had the gnocchi and another special, mussels and clams in red sauce on spaghetti noodles. Had two drinks as well, both very good. Excellent meal and experience for the price! We will be back. :) read more

Great food! Never had a bad meal. We've eaten at the bar and enjoyed the bartender's talents, the patio for a nice chill vibe, and upstairs.

This was our first time at Passatempo and we were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance was cozy and had a tavern atmosphere. The bartender went out of his way to fix a great crafted cocktail which was perfect. The pasta and pizza were great comfort foods and we ordered the salad special which had fresh flavors that were locally sourced. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The only negative mark is that we were given one of the smallest tables in the worst location in the restaurant even though we came early and the restaurant was mainly empty. That puta a damper on the entire experience . Don't understand why they don't give out best tables first come first served especially since we had reservations. All in all we would come back again but would ask for a better table. read more

Nice place with good atmosphere. Great food and service. It was a tad on the spendy side for us.

What happened? We were here two years ago and the bolognese was fantastic. This time... NO! Too spicy, not good at all. Carbonara...? Cmon people. I'd rather have Pastimes old lasagna or chicken fried steak!!! Service and wine awesome though read more

The service was great but the food was even better. Highly recommend, if you are ever in Walla Walla!!!

You know how you've eaten Italian food a million times and after a while you just stop because you can make it at home for less? Passatempo is an amazing exception where truly, you cannot make this food at home at all. Or for less. Unless you're an amazing chef (and then, pls be my friend). I've eaten here five times in the past five years and each time, it's even better. The service is excellent without being too much, and the ambiance is casual yet a little fancy. I would order something from each course to share, if you can, or go with many people to share multiple plates. There's always more that I want to try but just don't have room for... read more

Fabulous food, drink, and service! The ambiance was fantastic, but was unfortunately ruined by some very loud children. I recommend going on a weekend or later into the night. Our reservation was at 5:30 on a Monday and lots of kids were there. For appetizers I HIGHLY recommend the focaccia. The appetizer was also very well priced. We both had pasta dishes and they were delicious. You can't beat homemade pasta and sauce! The mixed drinks are on the pricey side but are some of the best I've ever had. We closed out the night with tiramisu and gelato (chocolate) and both were decadent. Our server was attentive and helpful. The food came out quick and I couldn't have asked any more of the staff. Truly great! A quick PSA: if you bring children into a restaurant, especially a very nice one please do your best to keep their noise at an appropriate level. Tonight we had a group of children yelling/screaming, banging dishes, and running around their table. We paid a lot of money to have dinner there tonight just like anyone else and I think we deserve to have a meal where we can talk to each other without yelling. Please keep this in mind when going out to eat in public! :) read more

Staff is as awesome as the food! Everything had a homemade feel and the craft cocktails are delicious.

My friend and I tried this place upon a recommendation. Reservations for Saturday are particularly hard to get - you'll want to book 2-3 weeks out if you want a reasonable dinner time, so we settled for a 8:15pm reservation booking last minute. We tried the Campari and orange sticky ribs, zozzona, and prosciutto and peaches pizza. The sticky ribs were an excellent starter - slightly crispy yet tender, with a balance of sweet and savory. There is subtle bitterness from the citrus and campari, but that whet our appetite of what's next. The zozzona is a fairly new addition to the menu, slightly similar to a carbonara except this is tomato sauce based. The sauce is very rich and the pasta is cooked to Al dente, my preferred texture in pasta. Don't be fooled that it looks so tiny - they bunch it up tightly and the richness made this small plate very filling. The pizza was good - the dough is lightly seasoned and I am a fan of the peaches bringing some sweetness to a very hearty and savory dish. The arugula also helped balance out the fattier prosciutto and cheese. Service is decent - water was brought out promptly and we were checked on a few times to ensure we have everything. The waiter acknowledged a slight dip in service as a result of large parties that were seated before us. A culmination of reasons why it's not a 5 star experience: while we showed up 45 min early for the reservation, there were lots of empty tables yet they made us wait 30 minutes before they seat us. Even if we need to wait longer for food, that is okay since we acknowledge the reservation time, maybe just a psychological factor of waiting outside vs getting seated. Also, the pizza was not cut properly so we had to spend additional effort of cut them in proper slices. The food took incredibly long - almost an hour - though the server did apologize that is because of a large group before us. read more

We had reservations for 8:30 but our table wasn't ready until about 8:40. The host tried to seat us but the realized the table wasn't reset yet. We ordered the burrata caprese as an appetizer but it was taking a while to come out. The server comped our first round of drinks, which was appreciated. The Two Step cocktail we ordered was super interesting with the savory spices! Once the burrata arrived, it tasted great! I loved the crusty bread throughout the dish! Our main course didn't come out until 9:30, an hour after we had arrived. I wasn't a huge fan of the Alla Gricia but that was a personal problem, not the restaurant's. My girlfriend, who is much more discerning about pasta, said it was great in her opinion, so I won't knock the restaurant for that. My girlfriend had the Zozzana and that tasted even better than mine! Maybe I just like red sauce more. For dessert, we had the tiramisu which was boozy and delicious with amaretto! Our server did not steer us wrong in her recommendation. Overall, service was friendly and professional. Our server even made some recommendations for other places to check out around town. One more nitpick - The blue and brown table chairs were small and uncomfortable. I would return and recommend this place but i would try something else on the menu. The service, food, and drinks were good overall but it lacked some attention to detail to really make it 5 stars. If you check it out, be sure to make reservations! We made reservations for our wine tastings and meals throughout the weekend and this was the only place we felt we truly needed them. read more

It was an auspicious start to our evening when we sat st the bar to wait for our table. The bar tender ignored us and when we ordered a drink she said she would bring it to our table. Unfortunately our table wasn't ready for another 25 minutes. We asked a second time for our drinks, however she would only serve those in a bar stool. Therefore our party of 8 had to cycle thru 4 stools to get served.
