My wife and I had dinner at T Maccarones and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We started with a fine beef carpaccio and followed that with a pear salad with truffle vinaigrette. It was wonderful. We spent an overnight in Walla Walla, and based on the many favorable reviews, had dinner at T. Macarones. We were seated promptly by a smiling hostess and seated by a window. Despite a pretty full house, Our extremely knowledgeable and friendly waiter, Tom, chatted with us about menu items and our individual likes and dislikes. George likes to try different things, so he opted for the Prawn Arrabbiata which was full of delicious prawns and, as the name implies, was quite spicy. The interesting black spaghetti (from being prepared in squid ink) was very unusual, but tasty. I opted for the Pappardelle pasta Bolognese, which was not your usual preparation Tom explained. True to his word, the homemade wide noodles were bathed in a tomato-cream sauce with a mixture of sauteed ground pork and beef. Soooooo yummy. When we were Considering our wine to accompany dinner, Tom brought a Sample of two wines for us to choose. We selected a bottle of Abeja, the house red. It was so good we bought three bottles fhe next day tto take with us. We hope to spend a week or two in Walla Walla in the future and can't wait to return to this wonderful restaurant. read more

We had dinner here based on a couple recommendations. Both of us had the bolengnese. It was good, although very heavily peppered. I also felt very overpriced. Service was excellent and loved the atmosphere and the artwork. Next time we are in Walla Walla, we will try somewhere else. read more

When we were new in town, we were told this was "the spot" for a nice dinner out. Yeah, not so much. Overpriced and the service was bad for the place being so empty. Top it off with the fact that what we ordered had completely different ingredients when it finally arrived at our table...haven't been back since and do not recommend. read more

The food was very good and the staff was personable. The prices were a little higher than expected but the food was good quality and tasted great. The restaurant is small so reservations are a good idea. It felt a little dark and cramped at our two person table. The service was terrible. The glasses were dirty. The bartender took a bottle of wine and a wine glass to a table and sat with the guests and drank the wine! When we asked for a table to sit at instead of a booth, the bartender looked at us like we were crazy! There was no one else in the restaurant. The food on the other hand was excellent. We ate there on Valentines day, which meant that the restaurant was packed, and we ate very late. However, I really enjoyed my meal, and my husband enjoyed his as well. Yes, it was pricey for Walla Walla. The server was also not the most professional, but she was friendly and accommodating, so we enjoyed ourselves. I had the roasted beet salad (very good), the gnocchi (good, and one of the only vegetarian entrees on the menu) and the pineapple upside-down cake for dessert (always a favorite). Absolutely delicious!!! I had the pear salad along with the butternut squash ravioli, so full of flavor. My partner had the bisque soup with the bolognese pasta. None of our meals disappointed at all. Our server was great, she was busy bouncing between three tables at the start of dinner and was pleasant, positive, and full of great energy. Awesome! My husband and I were starving and had time to kill before a family event. Having never visited Walla Walla...we went to T. Maccarones. Great! Fun staff! Great food! My ahi sandwich was EXCELLENT. Seared perfectly,fresh greens and awesome sauces served with fries/sandwiches. Very cute little Italian eatery in Walla Walla. I had the tagliatelle, my sister had the gnocchi (which was prepared in a different way than you'd typically expect, it was grilled...) and my mom had the Pappardelle. In planning our trip to Walla Walla Washington, from Nashville Tennessee, friends recommended T Maccarones for dinner. We made reservations for 6:30 PM, but having finished our wine tastings early in the afternoon we decided to drop in and see if they could take us earlier. They rearranged tables and made it happen for us to be seated around 515. Matt was our server. After going over the menu and learning of the two specials for the evening, my husband and I opted for both of the two specials, one being a mushroom risotto with asparagus and the other one was English Pea and ricotta stuffed ravioli with lamb Ragu. Soon after we placed our order, Matt came out to advise us that they had made a mistake because the lamb Ragu would not be ready for at least 30 minutes. We responded we did not mind waiting 30 minutes it was good to just sit and enjoy our wine. Immediately following was the chef who came and introduced himself to us and said he was working on the lamb ragu. We asked Matt to bring us some bread, which he did promptly and shortly thereafter he brought a charcuterie plate with salami ,cheeses, nuts ,blueberries, gooseberry jam, it was divine! And the entrées did not disappoint. Risotto was incredible as was the ravioli. Bottom line is T Macarones and specifically Matt, dealt with two issues that could've been awkward, but we're dealt with graciously and professionally. We definitely recommend T Maccaroons . It was truly a highlight of our visit there. read more

Very disappointing. We had a large party and when the food finally arrived most of the entree's were served at room temperature. My meal was hot because I was the last to be served. My salad came out with my meal. I started with crab cakes and I'm pretty sure that there was no crab in them. The macaroni and cheese was more like a watery fettuccine with penne noodles. Our server rudely told our party to be quiet because there was another party next to us. However they didn't complain and were happily joining in on the fun! We had a private room. read more

She was very knowledgable not only about the menu but also recommended a great wine to compliment the dinner. We have been here several times before and always walked away saying we will be back. This should be a 5 star rating because the food is so good but the service on a Saturday night was awful. We were sat on the patio which seemed to be the main problem, we were out of sight and definitely out of mind. We only saw our waitress three times as she was also busy with tables inside. The place was busy, but understaffed. Our drinks took forever to get to us starting with cocktails. Our martinis were warm but no one came by to see how they were so drank them any way. Then our food was delivered by a bus boy, our waitress never check back on us for a long time we needed parmesan and bread and more drinks. Finally we ordered another drink and ask for Parmesan and bread. I finally went in to check on things with waitress. She said it would be right there. We were almost finished before Parmesan was delivered and a couple of drinks came. Bread never came. It's too bad because we usually order a nice bottle of wine and have desert and are big tippers. We love the food here but they were either under staffed or our waitress didn't deliver. We will go back because food is amazing but if service is the same next time we're out! read more

We visit Walla Walla at least once a year and we have always gone for dinner at T Maccarones. the last few times we have been there we have been very disappointed . It seems the prices for food and wine keep going up and the quality keeps going down. the menu has not changed sin a long time and there seems to be a total lack of creativity. The pasta dishes seem quite unhealthy ,just about everything relies on a heavy cream sauce. The meals are very pricey, small portions and if you happen to want a bit of salad with your overpriced dinner expect to pay an extra ten or twelve dollars. In the past they had great bread but now it is nothing special and the olive oil they served with it tasted rancid. They have a nice selection of local wines but the markups are totally outrageous. After being a faithful customer every time we visit we have decided that enough is enough . I think they need to take a serious look at their menu and wine list. They probably need a new creative chef who can cook delicious seasonal dishes and be willing to change the menu with the seasons. Walla Walla is such a fabulous place to grow vegetables and grapes that any restaurant in this to town should be featuring the bounty and quality of this area! read more

Overall disappointing experience. We were walk ins on a Saturday night, told we could be seated at the bar right away which offered full menu. Started out okay until 2 other patrons were seated in the ONE seat next to me; my food came but hardly any elbow room. They seemed mildly aware and apologized a couple times for jostling my chair. They appeared to have a friend on the staff and were waiting for their table, ordering drinks and discussing the menu as they waited. The problem was that the bar was narrow, and inadequate to accommodate a meal.. We ordered wine, an appetizer, salads and main dish. The lamb gnocchi was very good. But the expensive meal was completely spoiled by the cramped, inadequate space. In hindsight, should have ordered wine, an appetizer and hit the road. Cream of asparagus soup was just tepid, but since I was in no mood to linger, I was glad to eat it fast, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Expensive mistake. We will not return nor recommend. read more
