TKO did the HVAC part of our home addition project and did a great job installing our new mini-split unit. They had good attention to detail during the installation, and patiently answered our many questions about the pros and cons of which unit to purchase, routing locations of the HVAC lines, etc. We would use TKO again for any future HVAC needs. read more

Starting in June, I noticed my house was not as cool as it should be. When walking into my bedroom, you get hit with very warm unmoving air. I tried contacting Austin Air Dynamics but never received a call back. So back to Yelp to find another AC guy. Found TKO and called. Later that day, Trey called back. We scheduled him to come in a couple of days when I would be home. He arrived slightly early which is a good sign. I introduced him to KC, turns out he has cats too so he understood the intro. Then to work he went. He went to work on the outside unit. A little cleaning and blowing out the drain, the house felt slightly cooler. Inside he inspects the attic over the garage and finds it divided. So he climbs a ladder for the attic over the bedroom. I was concerned of the heat in the attic, he assured me that it was cool up there. Why, you ask because the main duct was split wide open, letting the cool air into the attic. He does a quick fix of taping closed all the ducts. He tells me that when they previously replaced the duct work, they never removed the old ducts. Also they never replaced the duct going through the dividder wall in the attic. He promises to send me a quote to replace the last duct and clean out the old ducts. Two weeks later, he emails the quote. The price was reasonable and Trey was personable and professional. I will be using him again for the additional AC work I want done. read more

TKO has done another fantastic job for us. We used them earlier in 2017 to adjust the ducting in our home. They were fair, prompt, and pleasant to work with. When we needed an adjustment to the air flow, they came out and made this adjustment without charging us. Today I called them at 9am as my downstairs heating broke overnight. They were assessing it and searching for parts by 1130am, drove around town twice searching for parts, and had it all fixed by 3pm. Great service- I really couldn't ask for more. We will absolutely be calling them again whenever we have hvac needs. read more

We've had Trey and Josh out 3 times in the last two years to work on our 30+-year-old HVAC system. This review is LONG overdue! I've rarely been so impressed by a company: from the personable woman who handles the calls, to the knowledgeable, polite and very thorough young men who come out to do the work -- the name of the company should be PROFESSIONAL! Our house was a beat-up old rental when we bought it, and I doubt much maintenance had ever been done to the HVAC. The guys taught us how to perform said much-needed maintenance on our system from the very first visit. Two years later it looks like the old system will finally have to go, but they just (again) helped keep it alive for a few more months so we can get the replacement funds together. They stay until the job is done (tonight it was 9 pm!) and always tell us ways to save money in the future. I was only kind of joking with them when I noted that once we install the new HVAC we will not have to see so much of them! (We're going to have them do the install and yearly maintenance -- wooo!) Thanks y'all! read more

I was having a duct problem, and Trey came out that week to diagnose it. They give free estimates, but apparently duct inspection (which involves cutting open boxes and took about an hour) costs $95. They will apply the $95 to your repair however if you decide to work with them. Due to the miscommunication, Trey didn't charge me anything for his time. I did wind up having them do my repairs, and they came out on Saturday (didn't charge me extra for it, they wanted to!) TKO is very much a family company - which translates into lower costs. Trey's brother, Josh, did the installation and Trey came by to check up. I think their mother might answer the phones and coordinate everyone. They were both very polite and professional. I'd call them again anytime. read more

I've used TKO Heating & Air twice now to service our A/C system which is 20 years old. Last night, we had a massive drain clog that we didn't discover until nearly 6 pm. I called Trey and he was at our house by 8:30 pm. He took care of the issue, helped with the cleanup, and even made sure that our system is now better suited to prevent such clogs in the future. Trey and his team are committed to exceptional customer service. Both times I've had to use TKO he's been the one that we've worked with and I can't say enough good things about him. He's courteous, professional, doesn't recommend work that's not needed to upsell you. He takes care of the issue and even goes the extra step to advise you on how to prevent similar problems in the future. I'm keeping his card on file because I wouldn't use anyone else. Trey and his team at TKO is top notch in every category. read more

I wanted somebody I could trust, somebody who's knowledgeable, and didn't want to have somebody trying to sell me repairs and equipment I didn't need. I found all that and more with Trey from TKO. I did my homework before we called, and knew the work I needed done (primary drain line from the condenser was clogged up good). He came out quickly (same day, within hours!), quickly confirmed the issues, and also provided great advice and information on keeping my system running properly in the future - and what a friendly, nice guy to boot! I hope I don't need any additional service anytime soon, but I do know who I'll be calling if issues arise again, or if anybody asks my recommendations - thanks again Trey! read more

Our system went out last night, so we spent the night with open windows and fans blowing full force; however, it was still sweaty and not the best sleep ever. To make it worse, my teenage daughter complained and she is a master of complaining when it comes to heat. I came home at lunch today to find my partner had not yet called for repair. After reading some Yelp reviews, I found TKO and called. Trey came out and fixed the problem. He is personable and seems to l like our new dog (a plus because we ADORE her). We now have air again & I will be calling him the next time we need a repair - or if we *finally* get around to adding HVAC to the ground floor. Thanks, Trey!! read more

I returned home from a hot and humid walk with my newborn and decided to crank down the AC so we could cool off. A few hours later I noticed it was just getting warmer instead of cooler and I panicked. Called TKO and told them my sad story --they came out at SEVEN PM, correctly diagnosed the problem, found a store nearby that would sell them the part we needed after hours, and had it back up and running by 9 PM. I can't thank these guys enough --their honesty and quality service is the best in the game. You're a fool if you go anywhere else! read more

TKO has been our HVAC company of choice for almost ten years. They installed two ACs for us (different homes), and continue to service our newest unit. Most recently, our AC was blowing hot air last night. They were out the next day, and fixed the problem. They are good people who know their business, and they are good at explaining things. Highly recommend them. read more

TKO saved the day for our salon! The air conditioner went out, and a Texas summer is not the most comfortable thing to blow-dry hair in! The first company who came out quoted us a ridiculously high price, and we called TKO for a second opinion. I can't say enough good things about these guys. Super honest, reliable, and they really know their stuff. Trey at TKO rules. I don't have a "damsel in distress" air conditioning story, but we had a very minor issue and he spent several hours being very detailed about how we could improve efficiency. Clearly he was not trying to sell us anything and was so prompt, professional and thorough, I am a customer FOR LIFE. Trey is the owner and if he's as good as hiring as he is at his job, I can't imagine how you could go wrong. read more

TKO came to our rescue when we really needed them. Excellent service, great team and respectable pricing. TKO is the only heating and air company we will go to when the need arises. read more

Trey is the bomb. I don't bother ever calling anyone else. I've had him work on both of my houses and i've been very happy with him. He knows what he's doing, he's super courteous, and he never keeps me waiting. (I guess he knows how impossible it is to sleep when it's 90 degrees in your house.) I called him today at 1 oclock and he came over at 3, was finished by 3:30. That's service. read more

TKO found and fixed a leak in my AC unit's evaporator coil. I was very impressed with Trey (owner and technician). He's very knowledgeable and and takes the time to fully explain what's going on. He's a real down-to-earth guy, very friendly, and very sharp. I'll definitely use him again in the future. read more

I won't use anyone else - these guys are the best and always take care of me. They are easy to get a hold of and extremely professional.

We've lived in our home for over 2 years and are just now experiencing true comfort, thanks to Trey, Josh, Mark, and Delana at TKO heating and air! I got some quotes. I met mostly salesmen who looked at the outside unit and opened the closet where the blower roared and rumbled. These salesmen opened 3 ring binders and pointed at 3 selections from a laminated page (good/better/best). Then I met Trey Hitchcock at TKO and I got an education. Trey has a genuine conviction for improving the experience of HVAC in Austin. In the same amount of time that the previous salesman gave their pitches, Trey had walked me through my entire system, outside, inside, attic, and options. Where the other guys nodded and pointed, Trey drew my attention to several things that they had missed. I learned new words like 'plenum' and how important the plenum is to the overall system. The other guys treated HVAC, as I did, like an appliance (refrigerator, washing machine, etc). Trey understands and enlightened me on the fact that HVAC is a technical science. By the time he left, I knew that TKO would be receiving our business. Within a week, Delana had e-mailed me our detailed proposal. It was a lot of work... Looking back, it should have been daunting, but Trey and Delana imbue amazing confidence and my wife and I never felt any doubt. Several times Trey would mention that TKO's prices were not the lowest in town, But he assured me that the value was in the details. This may be due to the fact that TKO is a family run business. It may also be due to the fact that Trey refuses to compromise on the efficiency of the system... But I have to be honest here, no one else came close the scope of work TKO was bidding to do (I mean, a totally new system, plus) and his cost were not much more. One other company had estimated to replace the ductwork and Trey offered to match their price. Let me be clear, I did not ask that he match their price, nor did I leverage the bid. This was a good faith gesture, before we even received the estimate. Another important thing to note is how TKO goes about applying for rebates. There are essentially two ways of receiving cash back for energy efficient residential renovations from Austin Energy. The easiest (for the contractor) is a flat $300 - $700 (or so) rebate for energy star rated equipment. In our case there were two pieces of qualifying equipment, so our rebate would depend on the energy star rating (this is the option that the other guys had offered). All well and good. The second path is more involved (for the contractor), requires pre and post work inspections and covers more than simply the task of buying more efficient equipment. Austin Energy sent an expert to walk through our home and essentially offer money to make efficiency upgrades to our home. So we will receive a rebate for our new heat pump and blower (as with the first option), but also our new duct work, and new solar screens (included in the bid), and new vents. In the end, the difference in cash rebates is over $1000 (potentially 20% of our total cost). It is in these details where TKO's value is actually monetary, not just customer care. Once we placed our deposit, Trey, his brother Josh, and another technician Mark were at our house demo-ing by Monday morning of the next week. Two and a half workdays later we had our completely new heating and air conditioning system. The AC was down for under one day and Trey installed a portable AC unit in the bedroom to keep us comfortable in the 100° weather. There were issues... our old unit was not properly wired when installed, so Josh and Mark had to run new lines through the attic to the fuse box; Josh worked with me on the esthetic placement of an exterior wire. The existing vents had to be reconfigured to adequately cool the house. New ventilation ducts and vents had to placed in the foyer, the bathrooms and the laundry room. Trey and his team handled these issues with a measured confidence that cooled any anxiety that should be expected with a major renovation. Equally noteworthy is that there were no added costs to our initial estimate! Our new central air conditioning hums quieter than our ceiling fans. My neighbors have actually remarked at the noticeable lack of clanking and buzzing spilling out on to our quiet street! I can't believe we hadn't done this sooner. I couldn't imagine having had any other company than TKO handle this project. My wife and I would and will recommend TKO heating and air with full confidence to our friends and family. Even if you are on the fence about your HVAC and your symptoms don't seem severe, call TKO and meet up with Trey. He's a great guy to know and you will undoubtedly learn something about your heating and cooling system. In an industry that relies on pushy sales and high turnover, TKO is working to right the ship! read more

I had a great experience with Trey and his team at TKO! After going through our home warranty previously and being told that condensation leaking into our garage wasn't covered I decided to go a different route the next time I had issues. My only regret is that I didn't call TKO first! Here are a few details about my experience that set them apart from other HVAC companies I have worked with previously: 1. The bill was less than the estimate! Trey was able to identify a very small issue causing the primary condensate to backup into the secondary line. After this small fix, it's been working better than ever! He didn't take the shotgun approach and start replacing parts or recommend we get a new system. Rather, he took the time to find the root cause of the issue which was was a much cheaper fix in this case. 2. He was able to describe how the system worked to me in a way that made sense to me, which gave the background on why they made the fixes they did and, more importantly, why the fixes worked. 3. All the workers were extremely respectful of our house. It's a small thing, but I definitely noticed that anytime they came into or through our house they took their shoes off! That speaks a lot about how they view their customers. Thanks to Trey and team our AC is running great, but when it eventually does need to be replaced I will definitely be calling TKO to design our new system! read more

TKO Heating and Air saved the day last week! We came home to a digital thermostat that had no power running to it and a heating system that was completely shut off (it was in the 20s outside!). Trey was extremely helpful on the phone and immediately had Chris (he was closer in proximity) come out to assess the problem. Chris was kind, professional and put our worried, first-time-homeowner minds at ease. He explained the problem and solution in terms we could understand and made the repairs effectively and efficiently. Since then, they've called to check on the repair and make sure we feel good about the work they did. Their prices were fair, and we will definitely have them back for all our heating and cooling needs! read more

Trey and his team are as good as it gets. From customer service to installation, they put the customer's needs in front of everything else on their plate. Trey has come out numerous times to my house after hours to troubleshoot issues on my aging HVAC system; not one time has he tried to pressure me in to upgrading the system. The time is near for my entire system to be replaced and I will not entertain another mechanical company for the job. Great job Trey! You and your team have been a pleasure to work with over the last year and a half. read more

There are already many good reviews for Tko but I want to write another one to show how satisfied I am with their works. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The price is very affordable as well. They installed a new HVAC system for my addition and handle/pass the city inspection. They showed on time each time, solving problems, working hard. Thank you, TKO. I believe you will have more businesses because you are very good! read more

Above and beyond service and, most importantly, integrity. The AC in my rental property had developed issues. Other well advertised AC vendor came out and misdiagnosed the issue, then tried make us sign an expensive maintenance contract to fix the issue or pay four times the normal cost for the parts/repair. Given the age of the unit, I made the choice to just replace instead but didnt trust the original vendor due to the scamlike nature. Instead we called TKO. They brought over a window unit to hold my tenant over-and reduced my stress dramatically. Within a few days the total unit was replaced, the team was timely, extremely professional and we were delighted with the service, integrity and professionalism. Ill never go elsewhere for AC work. read more

Don't even think about calling anyone else for your HVAC systems. We had three at our old house and Trey was the smartest, most efficient diasnostician and repairman possible for these units. He had a plan for making the plenum more efficient the next time we needed to replace a unit. We have moved now, but TKO will be our service and repair company at the new place, too. Trey and Josh are the very best. read more

I agree with the other reviews. Trey and Delana, with Mark and Josh installing, were all amazing to work with. After spending some time getting us the proper size unit (something no other vendor did), listening to what our priorities were (humidity control), and even contacting the manufacturer to verify the perfect system, the install was scheduled and completed. Also, all the warranty and rebates were taken care of for us! I can't stress enough on how good of an install this is, looking in our A/C closet, the work is really a thing of beauty. Clean, wires and lines routed, everything insulated. Really, a small tear. In looking around and participating in a few HVAC forums I came to learn that the success of the system is greatly influenced by the quality of the install. You can't go wrong with TKO! read more

Just got my AC looked @ by Trey at TKO. I couldn't be happier. He came out a couple of days later. As soon as he looked at the outside fan unit, he immediately diagnosed the problem. Bad capacitor to the compressor. No problem, got that in the truck, swap it out with the new one! Oh, by the way you're coils look pretty dirty....No problem, I'll just clean em real quick with the chemical and hose. Also, I'll show you how to do it so that you can keep your fan unit running efficiently! Wow, this is a dream, right? You can't be this honest & trustworthy right? I'm telling you right now, I'm wide awake & not dreaming. Reputable companies and people DO exist! And the name is TKO Heating and AC. I had called another company previously to Trey coming out, and they suggested $5000 - $8000 for a new unit. They didn't even look at the outside fan unit....just wanted to talk about installing a new unit or a new compressor, which cost a whopping $2000 All for a blown capacitor that just cost $50! It pays to get a second opinion from TKO. read more

The other rave reviews on here are true. TKO is really a great company with great employees. Prices are fair, service is great, locally owned (maybe family owned I believe). Josh was very patient and thorough. Explained everything to me in laymen's terms and never pressured me to do anything. Even checked out some potential future projects while he was here and took the time to explain every detail. I am a big fan. Will use them from now on. Great company. read more

TKO is a great company! Texas summers can get very uncomfortable when the air conditioning is not performing, so it's important to find someone who doesn't make you wait! TKO has been exceptional to work with on my AC issues. Right out of the gate I had a same day flexible appointment, extremely courteous and helpful techs, and like other reviews I've read, HONEST! Trey and team took the time to troubleshoot, absolutely knew what they were doing, found the root cause, and worked out a totally fair price for repair work. There was no jumping to conclusions, pushing replacement parts, or anything of the like. If I ever do need a new HVAC system, I'm definitely calling these guys. read more

As luck would have it, our A/C went out on a Friday night after a 101 degree day. Now, I know enough about HVAC to deduce that the culprit was a faulty capacitor. So, I went the usual route and called a few of the more well known service companies only to be told they didn't service our area (Manor), or that I'd be charged for an after-hours, emergency service call in addition to the parts and labor, or that I'd need a whole new unit for $6500 (our unit is not even 6 years old)! After having suffered the weekend with no A/C, I decided to call TKO. Trey answered my call directly - not some impersonal dispatch person. He was very sympathetic to our situation, and was more than willing to drive to Manor to service our unit. He arrived promptly that afternoon, replaced the faulty capacitor and our A/C was up and running again! He also discovered that our unit had been overcharged, and agreed to come back out on the Fourth of July to clean and inspect the evaporator coil and fix the charge on the unit. What impressed me the most was that he was actually interested in hearing what our issues were rather than dismissing it and trying to "sell" us on buying a new unit. He was thorough and knowledgeable, professional and very courteous. The honest and up-front method he conducts business saved us over $6000. I just can't believe there are not more 5-star reviews for TKO! Hands down the best service company in town! read more

We've been working with TKO for several years and they've provided great customer service and quality work consistently.
