I had a really lovely experience here recently after landing from a work trip (I was also delighted to see that their second location in the airport had opened up!). The staff was very friendly and one of the women in particular (wishing I caught her name) did a great job at representing Tinker (enthusiastic about the beans, drinks, etc.). I ordered a Five Spice latte (so darned good) with oat milk and one of their breakfast sandwiches (equally delicious). I'm looking forward to all of my upcoming travel through IND and a little kickstart to the trip with the help of Tinker Coffee. You also can't beat the layout of this coffee shop with prime people watching real estate and high top seating (in the heart of the concourse). Note: hoping something can be updated to allow tipping on credit cards as I imagine a lot of the folks traveling for work through the airport are paying via CC. Could not believe nor was prepared for a fantastic cup of sweet balanced bean juice cleaning out the early flight blues at an airport! These guys fired up a perfect brew of five spice latte epic sips that lasted me all the way down to Florida! I was way too happy while the others munched their overpriced foods to drink a great value supporting a local roaster and getting very fresh quality beans in the deal. Traveling for work and needed a bite before catching my flight. Tinker was closer to my gate than Atarbucks and I wanted to give them a try since I've had their coffee before. The menu was definitely very limited in terms of selections. I got an iced vanilla latte and coffee cake. Coffee cake was just too sweet for me but I don't blame that on Tinker. The coffee was good and not too sweet. I forgot to ask if they had any other milk alternatives so I won't complain about that. If I were a regular coffee drinker, I would choose Tinker over Starbucks. I do hope they add other milk alternatives. read more

The creature of habit I am decided to venture from the usual Iced Caramel Latte and try something new. Brown Sugar Cinnamon didn't sound like it would be a flavor that I could go wrong with, even if I didn't like it as much as the caramel. However, the flavor was perfection. Got to the Indy airport for an early morning flight and walked by Tinker on the way to our gate. We were still waking up and the smell of their coffee lured us in. When we got to the register I saw the biggest pop tarts all beautifully frosted and sprinkled so it was a no brainer to get that for in between sips. The crust was flaky and buttery and the filling was warm but not hot (the worst part about heating pop tarts on your own at home haha) and all of the flavors combined for the perfect coffee pairing treat. I was so happy to see Tinker go in at the airport! I'd much rather support a local place than go to Starbucks. We had an early morning flight and got to the airport around 4:30AM. Tinker was open and there was a short line. I went with an iced 5 spice latte with oat milk. It was the perfect drink to wake me up. It had tons of flavor. Really glad Tinker opened up at IND. I want local coffee options where I can get a single origin at an airport and this fits the bill. Tinker is probably the most well known roaster in town and one of the more consistent. This Tinker being in an airport makes it a lesser Tinker experience than outside of the airport. They have justifiably less options and it is too busy to have personable interactions with bariastas like you would at the actual roaster. But it is here for different purposes (a good coffee in an airport). So try Tinker at IND and give them some grace for being in an airport. read more

To be honest this was just not a good experience. The barista seemed annoyed with multiple people before me. Then when she handed me a plain latte when I ordered a 5 Spice... I told her what it was supposed to be. Her response, an annoyed "I can just add it now." Ok sure. She heavy poured the syrup in and gave it a stir and handed it back to me. It was so syrupy that I just threw it away. I love Tinker and their 5 spice latte, but I wouldn't recommend the airport location. On November 17th at approximately 1130am, I was awaiting my flight when I decided I would stop in for a quick bite to eat at Tinker Coffee right next to Spirit Airlines. I had seen many people walk in to the restaurant area and have a seat so I proceeded to do so myself. Upon walking in to sit down at a table (where there were plenty of seats/tables), I was stopped by an employee (Rachael) who appeared to be on break as I arrived at the table I was going to sit at. She looked up at me and with attitude stated "Are you here with anyone?, then please wait to be seated" and pointed at the sign that I apparently missed when I walked in. I was shocked by the way she was talking to me like i was just the abomination of the universe for missing the sign, and then as soon as i walked back to the front, immediately another waiter told me I could go ahead and sit where I would like...I watched several people afterwards walk in and sit themselves, one couple sitting at the table DIRECTLY next to this employee, and the employee said nothing to anyone else. Being even more annoyed now, I discussed my concerns with the "manager" Makayla and she told me she would talk to her. Approximately 15 minutes passed and I overheard the two talking just a couple of feet away from me. The only thing that was done was the rude employee (Rachael) was asked what had happened and then they went on their way. I finished my food and left to go stand in line for my flight. As I'm standing in line for my flight, I overhear laughing from the restaurant. I look over and Rachael (the rude employee) is laughing with her coworkers for what I'm assuming was about the situation. I sat there and listened for a minute and i hear "ya that's him right over there", as she points at me. They all continued laughing and talking about how the situation was funny right in front of other customers. I ignored them and moved on with my flight, however, what kind of customer service is that to be so bluntly rude to a paying customer who simply just didn't see the sign, single only me out for some reason, and then sit there and point and laugh at said customer when they leave, boasting about how you got away with being so rude? Where is the management? Where is the accountability? If i did this growing up at my minimum wage job I would have been dropped on the spot. Absolutely garbage staff! read more

I am the type of person that loves to try new coffee flavors when I go to different coffee shops. I had never seen such unique flavors before! If course there was the traditional mocha and vanilla and caramel, but they also had flavors I had never seen before like the "5 spices" or brown sugar cinnamon or toffee! I personally got a 20oz iced toffee latte and it was the bomb!! Loved every sip! The service was quick even though they we pretty busy when I went. I only had to wait about 4-5 minutes before my drink was ready. Since there was seating provided around the ordering area, I got to sit and enjoy my drink while getting some homework done. 10/10 experience. read more

I didn't give a 5, mainly because of what I observed with the manager at 5:20 on a Sunday morning. The women working were there early, busting their behinds on an early morning with many people waiting to be served. The manager managed to berate the person making breakfast sandwiches, yell at the barista, and then yell at the woman taking orders to not include breakfast.
