I tried the iced ube and thought it was good overall. Nothing really stood out, but I would've liked it just a touch sweeter. Still, Helm made for a nice, relaxing vibe.

Five stars. If you love coffee in Indy, then you must go here. It's that simple. There are only two coffee shops I know that are this good and this is one of them. Helm is in a league of its own. I got a pour over coffee. They have several roasts available and the baristas are very knowledgeable about each one. They make the pour over in front of you at a coffee bar. They use a great consistent technique for the pour over. I heard the baristas talking about it and they definitely have this down to a science to get the perfect cup every time. This is in contention for the best cup of coffee commercially available in the city. There's only one other place that's even close. You MUST try the pour over here. Everything else is great, too. I also ordered some lemon poppy seed loaf. That was amazing. My girlfriend got an Ube latte that I tried. It was good, too. There's lots of bright, open space inside to sit and enjoy your coffee. Finally, this is near the Raymond street BRT stop, Garfield Park, I-65, and the pleasant run bike trail. There's a small parking lot that wraps around the building, too. It's a great location that's easy to get to in many different ways. They do have an ADA accessible entrance, too. I'm not in need of that, so I don't know how good it is. However many places on that side of town don't always try to comply with the ADA. Five stars. Easily in the top two coffee shops on Indy. You need to go.

One word: Wow. My brother has always joked that I've experienced more of the world than my own city, which is probably more true than not. So today, we visited Helm. The notes in everything we tried - amazing. Highly recommend giving this place a try. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Wow this was amazing, surprise street side building right on my way to a gig, dipped in right in time before they closed, I found a fun loving barista cleaning up and eventually putting together my ube latte. Loved the discount for my brought in cup, it is good enough on tables and couches but my back would be sore after long crouching to my laptop. I loved the espresso and ube, always my go to when it appears on a menu. Can definitely recommend!

Went in on a sleepy Sunday morning, barista was very friendly and greeted us right away. They roast their own beans which I love. Quiet simple atmosphere with several different styles of seating. Street parking. Homemade syrups including Ube which is made from local cookies. Barista took her time to make high quality lattes and even walked them over to my husband and I. Will plan to return!

I actually visited Helm coffee for the first time after hours for an event with a couple of Indianapolis organizations that I am proud to support. so full disclosure, I cannot speak on the service or the food. I can only speak on the ambience and what I know about the business. I've learned that Helm Coffee is a woman and LGBTQ plus owned coffee roasters and café. Their tagline is "spreading the love of great coffee through kindness and connection." Gawwwd, I love that! It makes total sense that the two organizations I was with that evening decided to meet in this space. Their mission and purpose align so well with what we were doing. The physical space inside is beautiful and inviting. The restrooms are all gender, and easy & free parking to the left side of the building. I don't do a lot of business in fountain Square just because of where I live up on the north east side, but going forward, I'm very excited to visit Helm Coffee during normal business hours and support them.

Helm is definitely not a place to pass up. They serve their coffees in glass jars, which can be reused or returned for a zero waste experience. I had a delicious pour over coffee. The barista was very helpful in helping me figure out what coffee to try. You can tell of their dedication to sustainability and also proud in their roasts. I loved the more chill inclusive vibes and can't wait to revisit.

Helm is a newer coffee shop in Garfield Park. I have been negligent in visiting any new coffee shops south of downtown but so glad I visited. It's a great place for a bright and sunny late winter Sunday morning coffee with a friend. They have a Ube syrup from Salamat cookies right now and who can resist. I've had Salamat's version of an iced Ube latte but this was more traditional and oh so good! They participate in the same glass jar program as Amberson and have Leviathan baked goods and have live music?! Say less. They offered to warm up my almond croissant which made a great pastry even better and I'll accept no less going forward. Comfy couches and great atmosphere make this a must stop. They also have a Jeni's ice cream freezer in the store. What a flex!

Visited Helm Coffee on a recent trip to Indianapolis and absolutely fell in love with the place. The vibe in the coffee shop is top notch and a large garage door facade brightens up the space well. There are cozy seating arrangements available at Helm and we opted to have our coffee at the shop and enjoy the space. To the left of the space is the counter where ordering can be done; to the right hand side is the coffee roasting station. The staff was warm and inviting and made the trip all that much more enjoyable. I opted for a maple latte which was crafted with precision and was absolutely delicious. My two travel partners each had a cup of coffee which was freshly brewed while we were ordering and refills of the drip coffee while there only run $1. In addition to our coffee purchases enjoyed while there, I also purchased a bag of their freshly roasted coffee to bring home with me, as well. Can't wait to brew it up shortly! If Helm Coffee was in my own local neighborhood, this would be the kind of place I could visit each day. If ever back in Indianapolis, I'll certainly be visiting Helm Coffee again!

The mission of Helm Coffee is to spread love through coffee and that is exactly what you get when you walk through the door! They take all are welcome to heart and you can feel how staff truly love this coffee and want to make your day a little bright with each cup. The parking lot is a little small, but there is plenty of free street parking! They are closed M/T/W. This a pet friendly establishment and they even had live music when I stopped in! I was so disappointed I couldn't stay and had to get my order to go, the music was fantastic and perfect for a lovely Sunday morning! I opted for the cascara fizz which even a non coffee drinker would enjoy! I also love they promote sustainability by serving drinks in glass jars. They do charge $1 for this, but that is waived when you return a jar. This. Is. A. Must. Stop!!!

I stopped by on my way to IND airport to try a nice local coffee spot as a traveler. It's located a couple blocks away from a park, which I definitely took advantage of! Overall, it was a nice place I would love to come back to if I'm in the area. The coffee was great, friendly service, and pretty quick even on a day they had a busy pop-up shop inside! What I found really awesome is that they only provide reusable glass jars for your drinks. If you return them the next time you visit (or bring your own container), they give you $1 off! I didn't know they were zero waste when looking for this place, but I'm glad I found it! Definitely the type of place I'd love to frequent if I were a local! So if you're also just visiting, I'd recommend bringing a container (luckily I had one) so you don't have to worry about recycling the glass jar on-the-go.

I also ordered a lemon mint refresher, but they were out of mint so it would just be a lemonade. That was fine and I appreciated how she handled the situation and that she knew what Prufrock did and did not have in stock! She was great at communicating when I walked in that she needed a few minutes and then would be able to help me too. Another time I went with my parents on a late morning Saturday. My mom and I both loved our drinks, but we knew what to order. There were multiple people working behind the counter, but the barista taking orders was not friendly or very helpful on this particular day. My dad did not know what to order and asked what tea is refreshing and is one that the barista would recommend. The barista said that the green tea is really popular, but did not ask whether he wanted it hot or iced or give a recommendation for that. The tea came out hot on a hot day where we planning to walk the Monon and check out other local businesses. To be fair, I did ask him if he wanted me to ask for the drink to be remade or to get him a new one as I had overheard his order and also assumed it would be coming out iced. He said it was fine (but then complained on our walk). This was a bit disappointing. There have been times I have walked out after a few minutes of no acknowledgement from baristas here. It is not a cafe that I would want to sit in and work in as a lot of the space does not look workable. The last time I did come in with papers I planned to read in between appointments, I did not want to put my bag on the floor or my papers on a table because both were dirty. The book page wall has seen better days and would benefit from a revamp. I love the outdoor area though and the can tops are really cool. There is a lot of potential here, but when staff appears like they do not want to be there it makes customers not want to be there either. I would also urge the owners to be more receptive to criticism. The TikTok videos about Prufrock did not influence my review, but it did encourage me to leave my own review based on my own experiences.
