The Monon Coffee Co is my second place. Many people have it as a "third place", but since I work from home, it's only my second. It means so much to me to have a comfortable, friendly place to go a couple of days a week, and it's wonderful that the baristas all recognize me and notice if I haven't been by in a while. The coffee and pastries are delightful as well!
Oh! What a cute, cozy spot right in the middle of broad ripple amongst all my favorite stores! I tried Monon for the first time yesterday and I loved the casual yet comfortable vibe and pretty quickly got to working. My Cortado was perfect with a hint of almond milk nuttiness and I enjoyed my time working there. There's a variety of teas, smoothies and breakfast options such as bagels and muffins. Parking is street only so may be tough to snag a spot although yesterday was a beeeze due to the tough weather. There are a couple tables and I imagine it might get busy on a nice day. Otherwise, pretty cool spot!

They serve a large cappuccino in a huge, cozy-in-the-hands mug... and with the world of to-go cups taking over, It's something that keeps bringing me back. This picture is from December, but I've been plenty of times with this exact order. I took a selfie for my family to gauge the ratio of the mug size lol. I give a 4/5 stars solely for the organization and seating. It's very compact- and the line takes over a lot of the seating in the front, while the seating in the back is also bit cramped. I also selfishly wish it was open past 3! For crazy afternoon coffee drinkers like me! However- it's obvious the community that gathers here is loyal, and for lots of good reasons. P.s. check out the honor bar! Always top off my coffees.
This place is lovely! I just grabbed coffee here for the first time and thought it was super cute. They have some things you can buy as you first walk in and business cards for local companies. There are beans you can buy and some fun things to check out while you're waiting in line. The place was packed as it was a Saturday morning. I asked the barista a few questions and she answered me happily. I ended up getting the large iced Mona Lisa which is a cinnamon and honey latte. One thing I will say is that their hours online don't match their hours at the store. Overall, pretty good experience and I'll definitely be back!
I finally got around to trying the Monon Coffee Company, as I usually don't want to deal with street parking. Although Broad Ripple has a lot of construction, it was easy to access. I love the specialty lattes, as they have some unique ones and change with the season. I tried a coconut cold brew and enjoyed it. They have a large menu offering and offerings such as smoothies and tea if you don't like coffee. The pricing is reasonable, and they had a sign posted that said there is a discount if you use cash.
Good coffee and friendly staff! Gotta try the flash roasted coffee for sure! I live out of state and try to go every time I'm back!
I am very saddened that I can never get my order right here. Placing my order is no problem, always somebody with a great attitude assisting at the cash register. I cannot tolerate sweet drinks, because it makes me nauseous. I went in, and I asked for a double macchiato, which we turned into a caramel macchiato. I specified that I wanted very little caramel in it, so they wrote light on the cup. I saw the barista put three pumps of syrup in it, and still lined the cup with caramel. When I saw that she was going to drizzle some on top, I told her that she didn't need to, and she gave me a little bit of an attitude. I added some half-and-half to tone down the sweetness. I could not taste any of the espresso in my coffee, t was straight up caramel and after a couple sips I couldn't get myself to finish it. So if you like sweet drinks, they got you covered. Maybe next time I'll try an unflavored latte or straight up espresso.
When I popped in here yesterday I wondered if I have really not been after 13 years in the neighborhood? File that under things I'm not proud of. Currently not permitting any indoor seating but looks like the perfect spot to set up shop to work or get some reading in. I ordered a half caf iced americano and it was perfect! Nice and smooth without any bitterness. I asked after the baked goods and they are mostly from Renee's so can't go wrong with that! I'll make up for lost time with this broad ripple gem of a coffee shop.
A no fuss, homey coffee shop with a selection of speciality coffee beverages, smoothies, and pastries. I enjoyed my green smoothie which was made fresh and tart and made fresh. The drip coffee was smooth and delicious and it is self serve on their Honor Bar. They have a selection of good from local artists which was fun to peruse. The ambiance is relaxed and welcoming. The service was prompt and friendly. I didn't try any of the pastries but the croissants looked delicious!
Needed some coffee beans so I decided to check this spot out based on volume/location. I had a white mocha and it was delicious. Great service, was happy with the wide selection of beans. The spot itself is very chill, can see this being a spot to knock out a manifesto or two.
A cozy spot right off the main strip of Broad Ripple. My favorite part about this spot: there was a nicely-sized bar at the coffee counter. I spread out there and enjoyed hearing the drinks being made while I dove into emails. The staff were really kind and very relaxed. I got green Moroccan tea and enjoyed the fact that they had TONS to choose from. They also had a few baked goods and wraps to choose from as well. There were about six tables to sit at, so although there weren't any open at the time I was there, I ended up joining someone else at their table in order to use their outlet plug. Cool crowd.
If you like a lot of creative unique drinks, this is your place. I got my usual iced latte (weird lid, ha). Drink came out kind of warm at the bottom but tasted pretty good. If you're bringing your dog they have treats at the front, which is a cool plus. Service was good and the drink came out crazy fast.
Had a meeting here and I love the Broad Ripple vibe. I've been having meetings in the area and this spot was really cute. The area kinda reminded me of Seattle. People were sipping their coffee outside, one guy had his breakfast snapping pictures of nature... it was cool. I only had coffee here and it was really good and strong! The Starbucks around the corner closed a few months ago but I'm happy this spot has its regulars and new people like me coming in. The inside is super cute and the staff were really nice. You can enter from the front or back and the seating was really engaging and comfortable. I enjoyed the diverse crowd of young and older people. It was busy but not loud at loud. I can't rate the food but the food and vibes were good. I will definitely go back! read more

The dream of the 90s is alive at the Monon. I used to work at the Abbey back in the 90s--the real one on Mass Ave. The Monon I think was around back then, but I hadn't been in it in years. Well whether or not it was there then, it's here now. It still has dumpster furniture, chalkboard menus, and authentic coffee drinks. When I say authentic, I don't necessarily mean to Italy. But I do mean the way we used to make them vs. just being a Starbucks clone. My friend ordered a macchiato and we got a proper old-school macchiato that was presented in a glass with panache. The dumpster furniture was probably the only letdown. It was a little hard to find a place that we could sit comfortably. That's sort of the charm of a 90s coffee shop. But I still think they could use a few more operable chairs. Other than that, I was a fan. read more

Stopped in here super quick coffee and anything I could grab for breakfast prior to a haircut down the street. Ordered an iced coffee and the first food item I saw which was a giant cookie in a huge jar. The coffee came out quick but let me tell you about this cookie.... I am dreaming about it. I think about it everyday as if it's my best friend. It was AMAZING. If for no other reason you drop in here...do it for the most delicious cookie you'll ever eat. Let me also mention I am not a sweets person. I do not even go for waffles/pancakes/french toast for breakfast ...but I will get this cookie for breakfast any day. read more

Was looking for a nice coffee house to spend some quality time with my older sister at this afternoon and we decided to try this place out and it didn't disappoint. The service was spot on and she answered my sisters questions and she was very nice and attentive. The anesthetic is amazing! I love the paintings and the energy in this place! It's definitely worth it! read more
Came here because I needed a coffee and prefer to try local places. The staff was friendly and the inside was clean and well taken care of. Great place for students to study! I had a vanilla latte with oat milk and a chocolate chip pumpkin muffin. The latte was good but a bit too sweet and chalky tasting, the muffin was perfection. Definitely try a bakery item if you pop in! read more
This is such a welcoming and laid back coffee shop. No frills and not boosie at all-which I greatly appreciate. Just you're average coffee shop where you don't have to feel intimidated about ordering a fancy drink. They have several black coffees in canisters to choose from with descriptions of each on the board. They also offer all kinds of various specialty drinks and LOTS of pastries and yummies. I didn't try one on this day but they looked fantastic. They had quite a few tables and working spaces if that's what you need. Located right downtown broad ripple near the Monon. Came here for coffee and while waiting for my Lumberjack Latte realized there are many more wonderful options especially in the smoothies! Will have to come back, didn't think I'd ever want to try bee pollen but it's going in my next drink here. Lovely little caffeine joint hidden among the hipster mess of north Broad Ripple, paying for parking is annoying, this place probably gets really busy and noisy at times; but friendly service, fantastic beverages, and decent mixes for all types is a winning combination by all us bean junkies. read more
Came in here quickly to use the bathroom & grab an iced latte. Not much of a seating area... vibe of the place was quiet and laid back. Baristas were nice enough. I ordered a 16 oz iced vanilla latte with almond milk. It wasn't great. It was luke-warm, which I really don't like, and I couldn't taste anything but watered down almond milk. I drank about half and threw it out, sadly. My friend ordered one of the white teas and thought it was pretty good. read more
This coffee shop is in Indy but has that very local, small town feel to it. There's an eclectic array of decor and small samples of local art available to purchase. Everything is hand written throughout the establishment and has a very personal touch to it. There are quite a few options for drinks and pastries (by quite a few, I mean a lot). Honestly, I was a little overwhelmed and took way too long to order. I ended up with a white mocha and peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was phenomenal (and gluten free). The drink was also very tasty, although very foamy to begin with. I tried some of their Mona Lisa too and that is a great drink for fans of cinnamon. I love that they have an "honor bar" with all of their drip coffees that allows people to skip the line, put their money in a jar, and just take their coffee and go. I wish there were a few more seating options but luckily there is a little extra space in the back - pro tip. They have free WiFi to do some work and you can find an outlet here and there. This place is tucked back in Broad Ripple. Parking can be hit or miss but I usually have good luck finding a meter along the canal. read more
This long time coffee shop has found a way to do a lot of things right! First, though they are in Broad Ripple, they managed to carve out a small parking lot in the back of their shop that if you are lucky, you can enter via the alley next to the shop. Next, they provided a handy rear entrance to the shop for those lucky souls, as well as a nice front entrance that is a bit more welcoming. Both entrances have spots for visitors to relax and check their devices while they enjoy their purchases. For folks like me who still like drip coffee, they have multiple options to try each day. I went with the Choo Choo Brew which was a rich black coffee, full of flavor, but not too strong. As the barista stated, this is the coffee that launched the business. I also picked up a tasty wedge of coffee cake that was sweet and had a bit of cinnamon and some crumble on top for a little more texture than the main cake body of the wedge. Very tasty too! The servers behind the counter were keeping everyone satisfied and were quite helpful with answering questions. Seems like a really nice place to relax and if you have to, get some work done. Note: I love that they serve the drip coffee at ready to drink temperatures! That's the only way a coffee house will be considered for a five star rating from me. Review #2105 read more

Monon Coffee Company is a very inviting place. The atmosphere was very relaxing and casual. The employees seemed very friendly both with customers and each other. They greeted me immediately and asked how my day was going and seemed like they were genuinely asking. I ordered a small hot chocolate and they accidentally made a large, so they apologized and offered it to me for no extra cost. The seating was somewhat limited, but that's to be expected for small coffee shop like this. They made good use of the space, offering two larger tables, several small tables, and an area featuring a coffee table surrounded by a small sofa and chairs. People were using this space to work, read, and enjoy their coffee when I visited. The chalkboard style menu was very clear and provided several options for smoothies, coffee, pastries, and more. The quirky shelving and mismatched furniture were very inviting and visually appealing too. There was also a self-serve area of various types of coffee that relieve any potentiate pressure of ordering at the counter, which was another welcome addition. Located right in Broad Ripple, there are plenty of parking areas nearby. Most of the parking options are metered, though that's to be expected in the area. Since it isn't directly on Broad Ripple Avenue, parking and crossing the street wasn't at all complicated or stressful. I give Monon Coffee Company a 5/5. I will definitely be returning. read more

Monon Coffee is solid, but not quite a home run for me. First tip: if you don't want to pay for metered street parking in front, check out the lot to the side near the sno cone stand. It says reserved, but it is free for customers of those businesses (including MCC) from 5am - 5pm. Beware: apparently a tow truck shows up at 5:01pm sharp. Ouch. However, I would likely only be visiting in the morning or early afternoon, so this wouldn't be a problem. I like the vibe inside with a mish mash of comfy chairs, couches, and tables. Another tip: there are three small tables in the back by the bathrooms. P.S. that bathroom is so outdated and janky it's not even funny (read: the sink was completely covered up...so no one could wash their hands.) I was pleasantly surprised by the pastry selection (Four Birds wahoo!) and smoothie menu. I don't like coffee so I typically get a hot tea at coffee shops. They had a fairly extensive smoothie lineup - I got the house smoothie (strawberries + banana #basic) in the 12 oz. size for $3.95. Fresh and delicious! That's cheaper than other smoothies around town. Wi-fi was a little spotty but for the most part worked well. read more
I liked it much. My wife and I went coffee free for a few weeks. Now we are back! But, now we are a bit more picky about the flavor of the coffee as well. We both had the Choo Choo coffee - loved it! The baked goods all look great. We tried the pumpkin bread - it was moist and very flavorful. There is free wifi - ask for the password. I tried it out and the speed was good at 8:00 on a Saturday morning. Refills are $0.50 and on the honor system - there is a cup next to where you get the coffee. The only issue we had was the Choo Choo must had been brewed earlier. While the flavor was still great, it was lacking a bit of heat. My wife likes cream in her coffee and with the cream, it was too cool. Not too cool to drink, just now as hot as a cup of joe should be. I will be back though! PS - if you are drinking espresso or getting coffee beans, there is a punch card available to get a freebie after buying so many. PSS - there is free parking in the back read more
