20 oz iced Mona Lisa
Samantha W.

This place is lovely! I just grabbed coffee here for the first time and thought it was super cute. They have some things you can buy as you first walk in and business cards for local companies. There are beans you can buy and some fun things to check out while you're waiting in line. The place was packed as it was a Saturday morning. I asked the barista a few questions and she answered me happily. I ended up getting the large iced Mona Lisa which is a cinnamon and honey latte. One thing I will say is that their hours online don't match their hours at the store. Overall, pretty good experience and I'll definitely be back!

I finally got around to trying the Monon Coffee Company, as I usually don't want to deal with street parking. Although Broad Ripple has a lot of construction, it was easy to access. I love the specialty lattes, as they have some unique ones and change with the season. I tried a coconut cold brew and enjoyed it. They have a large menu offering and offerings such as smoothies and tea if you don't like coffee. The pricing is reasonable, and they had a sign posted that said there is a discount if you use cash.

Good coffee and friendly staff! Gotta try the flash roasted coffee for sure! I live out of state and try to go every time I'm back!

I am very saddened that I can never get my order right here. Placing my order is no problem, always somebody with a great attitude assisting at the cash register. I cannot tolerate sweet drinks, because it makes me nauseous. I went in, and I asked for a double macchiato, which we turned into a caramel macchiato. I specified that I wanted very little caramel in it, so they wrote light on the cup. I saw the barista put three pumps of syrup in it, and still lined the cup with caramel. When I saw that she was going to drizzle some on top, I told her that she didn't need to, and she gave me a little bit of an attitude. I added some half-and-half to tone down the sweetness. I could not taste any of the espresso in my coffee, t was straight up caramel and after a couple sips I couldn't get myself to finish it. So if you like sweet drinks, they got you covered. Maybe next time I'll try an unflavored latte or straight up espresso.

When I popped in here yesterday I wondered if I have really not been after 13 years in the neighborhood? File that under things I'm not proud of. Currently not permitting any indoor seating but looks like the perfect spot to set up shop to work or get some reading in. I ordered a half caf iced americano and it was perfect! Nice and smooth without any bitterness. I asked after the baked goods and they are mostly from Renee's so can't go wrong with that! I'll make up for lost time with this broad ripple gem of a coffee shop.

Smoothie and drip coffee

A no fuss, homey coffee shop with a selection of speciality coffee beverages, smoothies, and pastries. I enjoyed my green smoothie which was made fresh and tart and made fresh. The drip coffee was smooth and delicious and it is self serve on their Honor Bar. They have a selection of good from local artists which was fun to peruse. The ambiance is relaxed and welcoming. The service was prompt and friendly. I didn't try any of the pastries but the croissants looked delicious!

Needed some coffee beans so I decided to check this spot out based on volume/location. I had a white mocha and it was delicious. Great service, was happy with the wide selection of beans. The spot itself is very chill, can see this being a spot to knock out a manifesto or two.

If you like a lot of creative unique drinks, this is your place. I got my usual iced latte (weird lid, ha). Drink came out kind of warm at the bottom but tasted pretty good. If you're bringing your dog they have treats at the front, which is a cool plus. Service was good and the drink came out crazy fast.

A cozy spot right off the main strip of Broad Ripple. My favorite part about this spot: there was a nicely-sized bar at the coffee counter. I spread out there and enjoyed hearing the drinks being made while I dove into emails. The staff were really kind and very relaxed. I got green Moroccan tea and enjoyed the fact that they had TONS to choose from. They also had a few baked goods and wraps to choose from as well. There were about six tables to sit at, so although there weren't any open at the time I was there, I ended up joining someone else at their table in order to use their outlet plug. Cool crowd.

Macchiato

The dream of the 90s is alive at the Monon. I used to work at the Abbey back in the 90s--the real one on Mass Ave. The Monon I think was around back then, but I hadn't been in it in years. Well whether or not it was there then, it's here now. It still has dumpster furniture, chalkboard menus, and authentic coffee drinks. When I say authentic, I don't necessarily mean to Italy. But I do mean the way we used to make them vs. just being a Starbucks clone. My friend ordered a macchiato and we got a proper old-school macchiato that was presented in a glass with panache. The dumpster furniture was probably the only letdown. It was a little hard to find a place that we could sit comfortably. That's sort of the charm of a 90s coffee shop. But I still think they could use a few more operable chairs. Other than that, I was a fan.

Squirrel eating pumpkin bread

Their pumpkin bread slaps! The neighborhood squirrels approved as well! I also really appreciated that they use loose leaf tea. I had a white peach hot tea, so good!

Was looking for a nice coffee house to spend some quality time with my older sister at this afternoon and we decided to try this place out and it didn't disappoint. The service was spot on and she answered my sisters questions and she was very nice and attentive. The anesthetic is amazing! I love the paintings and the energy in this place! It's definitely worth it!

Good coffee. I've gotten an americano here and some basic lattes and they nail it everytime! They are a broad ripple staple!

It is a bit challenging to find parking but there are a few spots in front. I parked down the street and walked which is always an option. There are a few stairs to get in but also a ramp, and the set up has a nice aisle like space for the line and plenty of tables and chairs. It can be quite loud so keep that in mind if you want a quieter reflection time, and maybe take it to go or sit outside. They have various food items but I absolutely LOVE their peanut butter energy balls! In fact that is why I came to this location as this is where the magic happens. They make them here and send them to other Tinker locations! They are the perfect blend of savory and a tad sweet and go super well with their coffee and/or London Fog tea. Yum! I will freely admit to buying all they had on hand, and now can enjoy them at home. Yay! It is a very busy spot so not the friendliest of staff, but assumed they were already hassled from the morning. It was a great spot to meet a friend and enjoy the patio and some tea/coffee. I would for sure go back and even bring a friend! In fact I've already mentioned it to several people as a potential meet up spot! Definitely something to enjoy!

I can tell so much about a place from their media and this one's sold me. On their IG page they mentioned having a craft table for Vday cards and with that my decision was made. Parking was in the structure, 2 dollars for up to 2 hours. The inside was clean, earthy and very inviting. The employees were helpful with recommendations. My oldest tried the Blushing Mocha- a love day special. I tried the traditional Turkish coffee and my youngest got drip coffee with ample cream and sugar. All three of us loved our drinks. Turkish coffee was truly amazing. I love my creamer and sugar so I was really surprised at how much i enjoyed this. The drip coffee was amazing as well. Really good. We also splurged and got the honey cake and the orange cake. Honey cake is a must try. The orange cake was a bit dry. Would be great moist. We really enjoyed the card making area. My sons didn't want to leave until they were finished. We will definitely be back.

Mariam is located in one of the newer developments of Broad Ripple. Parking can be found in the garage within the building, but it's not nearly as cheap as street parking. The menu features a variety of Turkish baked goods and a few Turkish inspired beverages. You'll also find things like iced Matcha and Rose flavored lattes. Service was friendly and prompt despite it being a one woman show at the time. Overall, it was a positive experience. They had a handful of outlets which make it convenient for remote work. I think the only thing that was missing was a background music to create more of an atmosphere.

Unfortunately the service is very hit or miss…read more The last time I went in which was in the late afternoon last Saturday, the barista was great! I ordered an iced latte with oat milk. I also ordered a lemon mint refresher, but they were out of mint so it would just be a lemonade. That was fine and I appreciated how she handled the situation and that she knew what Prufrock did and did not have in stock! She was great at communicating when I walked in that she needed a few minutes and then would be able to help me too. Another time I went with my parents on a late morning Saturday. My mom and I both loved our drinks, but we knew what to order. There were multiple people working behind the counter, but the barista taking orders was not friendly or very helpful on this particular day. My dad did not know what to order and asked what tea is refreshing and is one that the barista would recommend. The barista said that the green tea is really popular, but did not ask whether he wanted it hot or iced or give a recommendation for that. The tea came out hot on a hot day where we planning to walk the Monon and check out other local businesses. To be fair, I did ask him if he wanted me to ask for the drink to be remade or to get him a new one as I had overheard his order and also assumed it would be coming out iced. He said it was fine (but then complained on our walk). This was a bit disappointing. There have been times I have walked out after a few minutes of no acknowledgement from baristas here. It is not a cafe that I would want to sit in and work in as a lot of the space does not look workable. The last time I did come in with papers I planned to read in between appointments, I did not want to put my bag on the floor or my papers on a table because both were dirty. The book page wall has seen better days and would benefit from a revamp. I love the outdoor area though and the can tops are really cool. There is a lot of potential here, but when staff appears like they do not want to be there it makes customers not want to be there either. I would also urge the owners to be more receptive to criticism. The TikTok videos about Prufrock did not influence my review, but it did encourage me to leave my own review based on my own experiences.

The space is roomy and well-set up, with two- and four-top tables, a padded banquet against one wall, and a large library table you can spread out at (if you can get it). Sound levels are good (the music isn't great, sometimes repetitive and predictable jazz or 70s hits, but it's at the right setting of audible but not distracting). Outside tables get a shifting mix of sun and shade as they day passes. So, yes, it's the best coffee shop for work. Unfortunately it is not the best coffee shop for anything else. The coffee is generally fair; espresso drinks are inconsistent and never get the creamy richness a good cappuccino or latte ought to have. They use a variety of good beans that the company roasts at their 52nd street plant, but for straight-ahead drip coffee they brew it overly strong, on the Starbucks model. And the vibe is impersonal; no one has ever described it as "fun," I'd wager. I've been there twice a week for probably ten years, and among the current staff, no one has ever asked my name or obviously acknowledged recognizing me. There was a lot of staff turnover a few years ago, and the current staff -- maybe I'm projecting here -- but they seem kind of downtrodden. It's a busy place, hard work, and I get the impression that ownership/upper management doesn't do much to make the staff's lives livable.
