Fine lunch in this upper Willamette wine country landmark restaurant. Interesting menu items, hard to choose (always a good sign). Settled on an excellent wild mushroom risotto and an even better smoked rabbit sausage dish. Knowledgeable and friendly service. Decor a little dated, but there is so much wine country history that happened inside these four walls. Wine list is extraordinary, could use a few lower cost choices for balance. I love Tina's. My wife and I have regularly visited for a number of years and we are almost always very very happy. Salads are fresh and crisp. Food is well cooked. You regularly see local wine makers there eating and having a glass of Pinot. It's a spot with true local charm of the red hills region. I do worry how close they are to the busy highway and wonder if they might have to find a way to move further off the road, but this is a pretty normal problem for all of Dundee. Service is friendly and casual. The place almost completely lacks pretension in favor of authentic quality. This is always our first choice in this area. read more

Overall a great wine country dinner. There was a great wine menu but after tasting wine all day we opted for a cold beer, one of the ten or so Oregon microbrews available. For dinner we chose the beef short rib with polenta and the salmon. Each entree came with either salad or soup so we chose one green salad and one carrot ginger soup. Both were excellent starters to our meal. We really enjoyed the soup for being not too heavy but very flavorful. Both main courses were also excellent. The short rib was very tender and rich and it came with fried polenta which was good for absorbing the sauce. The salmon tastes very fresh and was cooked to perfection, although the greens the salmon came with were not the type I enjoyed but maybe others would. We receive a free dessert from our yelp check in which was a blueberry shortcake. The blueberries and cream were fresh and tasty but the shortcake seemed stale. Overall a great dinner worth the trip for the short rib and the soup alone with a few drawbacks-out of chocolate soufflé dessert and the service toward the end was a little slow. Also some wineries in the area give out gift certificates so be sure to mention Tina's. I would go back to try some other items on the menu. read more

Seasoned foodie am I. I must say that I have been spoiled with top quality restaurant eats as the hubster is a chef and had a true Farm-to-Table fine dining restaurant on the East coast. We were were treated to dinner at Tinas by a dear friend, and we were excited as we have wanted to try it. Such a disappointment. WAY, WAY overpriced for what you get. Service was quite attentive and courteous but I could do without being called "M'lady" I ordered the goat cheese and roasted garlic appetizer (a classic combination). When it arrived there were two warmish, bland balls of goat cheese on a bed of UNPEELED, underroasted garlic cloves. Very, very bizarre. Was I expected to peel the garlic with my fingers? Terrible execution. There was a small side salad which wasn't bad, but again, for the prices, could the mache have been a bit de-stemmed? My filet was cooked nicely, My husband had the pork which was good and my friend had the Goat Cheese soufflé, which looked like an egg bake. Soufflé should be served in a soufflé dish. I am amazed at all the stellar reviews. I guess my standards are quite high. Save your money and go to Red Hills Market up the road or Thistle in McMinnville. And speaking of money, $35 corkage fee. Insane. Such a shame because it is a very cute and cozy place. Needless to say we will not return. I've noticed many reviews are great AFTER a day of wine tasting. Everything single item they put on the table is excellent. Salads. (Pear and blue cheese.). Bread. Butter. Olives. Even the coca cola is the kind in a bottle with real sugar, not hfcs. I started going to Tina's many years ago and always enjoyed everything. Last night was the first time I had been there in about two years and I was shocked at how it has changed. They used to serve marinated olives along with the bread but apparently it was too costly and they no longer serve those. That should have been sign that things had changed for the worse. When the bread arrived I was extremely disappointed. I found it dry and lacking flavor. The bread they used to serve had a softer crust and this bread could break the dentures of many King City residents. I must admit hat the salmon spring rolls were as exceptional as they always are. Also, the sweet corn soup was outstanding. For my main course I ordered the braised short ribs for $35 and if I received roughly 4 ounces of meat. $35 for 4 ounces of meat???? On top of that the meat was on the dry side and the depth of flavor was lacking. There was supposed to be a porter chocolate sauce somewhere on the plate but they must have used a thimble to dish that out because it was hard to find and taste. Unfortunately, in this diner's opinion, if you are looking for a quality meal at a reasonable price Tina's is not the place for you. You would be better served dining at Subterra or The Painted Lady in Newberg and forego the extra five minute drive to Dundee and the overpriced and so so food at Tina's. read more

My fiancée and I decided to finally try the famed Tina's restaurant in Dundee. I have to say we were wonderfully surprised. The comfortable welcoming atmosphere with the reasonably priced fine dining was a true pleasure. Combining that with the amazing congeniality, caring and pinache of Dwight (the 40+ year veteran server who has just become the co owner) resulted in a transformative dining experience. Any commuter from the beach and/or visitor to the Oregon Pinot noir valley would do themselves a disservice to skip this experience. read more

Overpriced and bland. We're happy to pay a premium for a delicious meal with quality ingredients, but when it's bland and disappointing, it's clearly not worth it's high price point. We moved to the area a year ago and have been looking for a true up scale restaurant with food to match. We finally found that at Tina's for our anniversary dinner. I had the tenderloin and my wife had the duck breast, both were superb. Both were cooked to perfection accompanied by great service in a intimate atmosphere. Went for dinner, and back the next night. Food and service outstanding. The rabbit was a treat, hard to find it not overlooked and dry. The scallops were delicious. The next night we both had duck breast. This is so often over sauced, but not this time. Served instead with a bright tasting lemon risotto. The ice cream was terrific. Went to Tina's on Saturday night and dinner was good as was the service. Good enough that we went back for a second night to have another dish and some of the same for our group of four. Suffice to say Sunday must be managements day off. Service was extremely slow and we were one of three tables in the whole restaurant. Potatoes with the duck were cold. Two dishes sent back and no real acknowledgement of the issue. Next up was the bread pudding which was great the night before, this time cold. I mean who serves cold bread pudding? The ownership should understand the impact of inconsistent service and attention to detail. It was obvious no one who cares was is charge or on duty. read more

so torn over how I feel about this place. on one hand I love that the pinot wine list takes up half an entire page. on the other hand I hate that our server was a total idiot with helping us choose a bottle. she actually said the words: 'I have no idea what that wine is. maybe someone here does.... la la laaaaa. ' no offer for any additional help. just continued to pester us for our drink order. after we chose a bottle (blindly), she then proceeded to completely ignore us for the rest of our meal, sending others to serve us, instead. I really wanted to like this place, but it was just okay. The soup and salad were fine, just boring. Our goat cheese starter was delicious, but the timing was off relative to our entrees. The salmon was slightly over cooked and the scallops were somewhat lost in their accompaniments. The chocolate and vanilla souffle was good, but nothing special. If you eat here be prepared to be publicly humiliated for wanting to take your unfinished meal home with you. Went to Tina's last night for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Service was friendly but slow. Appetizers were a bit slow to arrive but were delicious. I ordered two cocktails and enjoyed the first but the second didn't taste the same as the first so I didn't finish it. Entrees took a while but maybe that's because it was risotto. The problem really was as they were clearing the table. The server asked if I wanted to take home my unfinished risotto and I said yes. She asked if I also wanted the house made bread and of course I said yes. The owner standing nearby then said "Are you wanting to take home the silverware too?" OH NO YOU DIDN'T JUST DAY THAT TO ME! I told him that was an extremely rude thing to say to me and he just blew me off and said he was joking. Nope. Not funny. When you've just insulted a patron of your establishment you don't brush them off like that. YOU APOLOGIZE. Needless to say, we won't go back and I've told everyone I know what happened. Since we live fairly close to this restaurant, a lot of people I know might go there. I'll bet they won't now that they know this happened. read more

Our experience from start to finish was superb! Michael, our server, took such great care of us. From seating us at the most romantic table in front of the fireplace, to recommending the best appetizers (Willapa Bay Oysters & Salmon spring rolls) and exquisite entrees. His service was perfect and very nicely paced. We took our time and lingered over appetizers and a cocktail, and then on to soup (Potato Leek-amazing) and the Duck, which was cooked to perfection and served atop a bed of risotto that was delicious! We had seen Tina's several times on wine tasting trips but had never tried it until this time. Had a very nice meal, everything was well prepared and delicious. Good wine list! However, service was very uneven, no one seemed to know who was assigned to our table so we had to ask for bread, water; one cocktail was brought much later than the other, courses arrived without our server asking if we wanted another drink or wine, etc. We'd probably come back but would be prepared to ask for service! read more

I would love to give this place 5 stars but the service was lacking as another reviewer stated and a couple of other things brought it down. My food was amazing, I had the goat cheese souffle which had great flavor and size of portion. We first ordered the brussel sprouts which were good but there were very few on the plate for the price. I order them all the time at other restaurants and you get at least double the amount, so very pricey. Same with the bread, we were 5 at the table and they brought the smallest amount of bread out before the meal. It was very good bread so we had to ask for more. The others in the group said that their food was just okay. Three had the seared ahi and stated that it was over seared. Also that it needed something, sauce or some sort of flavor as it was dry. Not sure who the woman behind the bar was who was our waiter half of the time but she was so awkward to speak to and had to come back to recheck on what we ordered. She returned after our meal and asked about the meal and again was extremely awkward. Enough that it would put me off returning. Not sure what the deal was there. Took forever to pay. I hate when you want to leave and they hold you hostage by not coming to collect the card. Pricey for what you get and they need to up their service. Not sure if I'd go back or not. read more

A great place locally. I don't have to drive into Portland for a great meal. We had friend oysters, which were the best I ever had, the batter was crunchy not overly greasy but had a very rich almost truffle oil taste to it. The braised rabbit was very good if you like rabbit..the polenta it came with was full of corn, creamy textured flavour..loved it. The braised greens w/ it was excellent. Wine list is excellent and full of local winery choices, my one complaint is that their cocktails $11 was grossly overpriced, and wines by the glass were $11-15 which was also high. On the up side, beer prices weren't $4. Overall, a very good fine dining restaurant without having to drive into Portland, good use of local ingredients and excellent wine list..although prices are high. read more

OK so I spend a lot of time down in the Newberg to Dundee stretch and Tina's is one of the top food stops for a really good lunch. A nice crowd always a mix of tourists, and locals. Lunch is great here and frankly hard to pass up the great burger I had here last time with farm aged cheddar on a brioche bun. I even took the boys here one time round for lunch and they loved it too, even the freshly pressed pinot noir grape juice. A great selection of wines as one would expect here in the heart of wine country. The warm goat's cheese app is really good and the quail in the winter time is one of my favorites. read more

Tina's, located in Dundee, Oregon, opened in October 1991. The restaurant, which seats 50 guests, has a comfortable bar, and the two intimate dining rooms are divided by a fireplace. We had a wonderful dinner. 2 appetizers: Willapa Bay Oysters, pan fried with Sorrel Mayonnaise, and the Seared Pork Belly. Soup: summer corn. My fiancee and I came here after wine tasting for our 2 year anniversary. From sitting down to dinner everything was great. They refreshed our waters consistently, brought our appetizers, salads, and dinner on time. However after dinner, they completely forgot about us. We sat there for about 30 minutes even dropping a hint to the water server that maybe they were just understaffed and still no one came by to ask about dessert or even bring the check. Finally, we got up and walked to the bar when the waiter said "Have a great night". We should have just walked out at the point, but I couldn't bring myself to do that and instead said we haven't paid yet. He still made no gesture that he had forgotten about us. Finally, I wrote a note on the check saying that we had been waiting there for 30 minutes and no approached us. It was really a shame. We had such an amazing day to end on such a low note was unfortunate. We even heard other tables complaining about not being served consistently. They had decent food and decent wine, but not much on the service and ambiance. We found a lot of other restaurants in the surrounding areas that we would rather spend our money at. read more

After reading other favorable reviews, I had high hopes for Tina's. I could not have been more disappointed. I won't even address the atmosphere, just the food. The fried oysters could have been fried okra. They were tasteless and over breaded and over fried. (Sorry okra). The $36 cod was overcooked and mushy. I have had better from supermarket frozen food offerings. And the warm cabbage and too hard to cut carrots were a sorry vegetable offering. The one exception was the butternut squash soup that was amazingly rich and tasty--and without any dairy ingredients--how did they do that? Pass on Tina's--there are too many other great choices in Willamette Valley wine country. read more

I've only eaten here once and was completely satisfied with both our food and service. The menu was diverse enough that every one got exactly what they were craving (entree wise). Our waitress took excellent care of us and was remarkably patient with our group (we had just finished visiting several wineries). For four of us to eat plus a corking fee. My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Tinas July 3rd I have been so busy I had not written my review yet. We had the scallop app cooked perfect and the flavor was amazing melted in your mouth. We both enjoyed a beautiful house salad. My husband had the duck which was out of this world and I had the organic chicken which was equally great! I would highly recommend Tina's the staff was lovely and we will go back for sure.
