Meatloaf is a huge serving (this is just half the order)

What a great spot in Aurora! I've had the burger and meatloaf and a few apps. Highly recommend the cornbread! Staff is always friendly and this town is just too dang cute

This was a fabulous find. We only had time for drinks and a quick bite and wished we could have returned for a full meal. The filbert-infused bourbon was a huge hit. Ambiance is really nice and the service was great. I hope to come back here when I'm in the area!

Had a solo meal on a busy afternoon. The management and service made up for my last adventure here. Had the chicken and Dumplings on recommendation. They were really good. I would eat them everyday if I could. It's a large place with seating in various areas. My fave seating is in the bar area. Cozy.

This place is really quaint and lovely. We sat outside, took in the fresh air and the beautiful scenery. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Great place to grab brunch or lunch and then go antique shopping.

Filberts farmhouse kitchen in located in aurora Oregon near their antiques district. Filberts is in the sweetest historic farmhouse surrounded by beautiful grounds. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well as event space. I would and they would recommend having a reservation as space is limited. The food came out a bit slow, but sounds like they had some staffing issues in this day. I loved the bread pudding, and deviled eggs. The strawberry shortcake had a bizzare artificial strawberry flavor. To me this is an appetizer and desert spot! The entrees were good not great for the price. We will definitely be back to try some of their other offerings!

This place is great if you are elderly or do not have kids. They are not set up to accommodate kids AT ALL. The hostess was very rude and there is a sense of elitism. The food was decent but we felt so rushed. The experience was chaotic at best

We just had a negative experience at this place. We arrived at 12:30 and were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. I gave her my number (as requested) and we went outside to wait. We came back 25 minutes later and the same hostess who took our name said "its now a two hour wait." After some questions she repeated that "it will be two hours, so if we want to wait, there will be a table open." After we expressed disappointment, she offered bar stools. We were given a time to wait. We waited. Then we were told it would be two more hours. When we questioned her about what happened, she said a table stayed longer than anticipated. Hence the two hour delay. She offered nothing to make up for the 30 minutes turning into two hours. Knowing that nobody would stay for two hours, there was no choice but to leave. Negative experience. Won't be returning.

First experience at Filberts Farmhouse. Service was excellent, setting is quaint. However the room we were in was quite active with noise from patrons and the kitchen. Food was good. Menu has a nice variety of items with large portions (some of us split). There were 8 of us so we experienced a variety of the items including chicken and dumplings, meatloaf and burger. I will definitely be back if in the area.

A recommendation by my dad when we were getting together for lunch and it did not disappoint. The service was great, the dining room was full on a Saturday but not overly loud and the fish and chips were great. Perfect balance of breading to fish and fried to be nice a light (yes, I just said fried nice and light). They are known for their bread pudding, and while I am not a fan, there was a fan at the table and he enjoyed every bite. I recommend making reservations, but you should definitely give it a try.

    Meatloaf and chicken dumplings

I know they are known for their chicken and dumplings... but let me tell you! Their meatloaf was AMAZING! I've never had something so good. The mushroom gravy, the garlic mashed potatoes! I don't even like mushrooms but I ate every last bit off my plate! Definitely recommend! The chicken and dumplings was bland compared to this!

[Format & Space] Seat yourself*, review the menus at the table, order at the bar, they bring your food and drinks to your table. *Plenty of tables, some with long benches, others with chairs on the inside. There's also a large patio. This is a welcome and safe space. [Drinks] Right up front, I'm going to tell you I'm a lightweight. I'm allergic to alcohol, so I don't drink often. Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose! [Food] There's a nice selection of sharable plates and mains. I've personally tried the flatbread pizza, Bavarian pretzel, Cubano, and Brisket Press, all of which were delish. [Service] The service has always been fabulous. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. [Activities] There are a few TVs around the bar with sports. It was a great place to catch some of the World Cup games. Additionally, there are several games that you can borrow and play, which is a lot of fun. [Location] Tucked in a busy shopping center with Safeway as an anchor. Parking hasn't been super problematic yet, but based on one of the other reviewers (Ron R - loved your formatting too, so I borrowed it until we get rich text formatting or emojis!) I can see where it could be a challenge.

Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Or deliver some clean tasting everyday type of bar food as well. * Last Call * Normally in my reviews, I'd list every item that I've tried, with price included. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent. It's a great hangout for a business date, of even after a first date. I've got nothing but love for local support!

My parmesan crusted halibut was a little more dense than I would expect for that type of fish -- it was bright white, but was not flaky at all. The flavor was good, but it felt very heavy with the provided tartar sauce. The fries had great flavor, but they could have stayed in the fryer a little longer, as they were rather pale. The veggies were obviously frozen and reheated, and didn't have a lick of seasoning on them -- definitely needed salt & pepper. I ordered soup with my meal, and it didn't make it out before the main courses. Not a huge deal, as they just brought it out after I mentioned it. The soup was okay, but nothing special. The best part of the meal was dessert -- Dutch Apple Pie. It was just what an apple pie should be, with a nice flaky crust. I would definitely go back, but might try something other than seafood. Staff was very welcoming and well versed with the flavor profiles of the menu items. They also recommended the appropriate number of dishes to order based on the number of people at our table. We started with the oysters on the half shell. They were perfectly sized and succulent with a hint of sweetness. The steak tartare in itself was very rich and melted in your mouth. I would have preferred to have only that alone. The rest of the dish was inspired to have a fusion leaning toward Vietnamese pho. But all those extra fixings took away from the tartare. The Ouefs En Mayonnaise had bacon, smoked roe, and maple stuffed in soft boiled eggs. It would have been a great execution, but the sweetness of the maple overpowered the underlying depth of the dish. The broccoli cobb salad with the fried chicken was really dense. There was a ton of sunflower seeds and dressing. The serving size of the chicken was generous but the amount they gave us weighed down the dish even more. The foie gras dumplings with the leek broth and shallot jam had a lot of potential as well. The pasta was a little too al dente. The stuffing was overly heavy and sweet, even for foie gras. The braised lamb shoulder with the saffron whipped potatoes and ratatouille was very tender and done perfectly. There was just something about that sides in it that were underwhelming. The ricotta gnocchi were well seared on the outside and bouncy on the inside. The corn veloute, fried sage, and parmesan were very complimentary. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice sundae. The mango dole whip was exotic and tangy. The pandan rice pudding rounded that out. Last but not least we also ordered the earl gray panna cotta with poached rhubarb and oat streusel. This dessert in particular was the shining star. The panna cotta was completely silky with bright notes of bergamot. The rhubarb added just a hint of tang. All around it was just really tasty and we were fighting over who got the next bite. Overall, this was a unique French experience. It is rather expensive and it is expected that you order quite a few dishes, since they are smaller in size, if you want to be full. Some of the food combinations were not symbiotic. Several of them leaned more heavily toward being sweet rather than savory. I would consider maybe coming back for a happy hour but not sure I would return for a regular course meal.
