    Chicken and Dumplings
    Krista Lou ..

Had a solo meal on a busy afternoon. The management and service made up for my last adventure here. Had the chicken and Dumplings on recommendation. They were really good. I would eat them everyday if I could. It's a large place with seating in various areas. My fave seating is in the bar area. Cozy.

This place is great if you are elderly or do not have kids. They are not set up to accommodate kids AT ALL. The hostess was very rude and there is a sense of elitism. The food was decent but we felt so rushed. The experience was chaotic at best

We just had a negative experience at this place. We arrived at 12:30 and were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. I gave her my number (as requested) and we went outside to wait. We came back 25 minutes later and the same hostess who took our name said "its now a two hour wait." After some questions she repeated that "it will be two hours, so if we want to wait, there will be a table open." After we expressed disappointment, she offered bar stools. We were given a time to wait. We waited. Then we were told it would be two more hours. When we questioned her about what happened, she said a table stayed longer than anticipated. Hence the two hour delay. She offered nothing to make up for the 30 minutes turning into two hours. Knowing that nobody would stay for two hours, there was no choice but to leave. Negative experience. Won't be returning.

First experience at Filberts Farmhouse. Service was excellent, setting is quaint. However the room we were in was quite active with noise from patrons and the kitchen. Food was good. Menu has a nice variety of items with large portions (some of us split). There were 8 of us so we experienced a variety of the items including chicken and dumplings, meatloaf and burger. I will definitely be back if in the area.

Filberts farmhouse kitchen in located in aurora Oregon near their antiques district. Filberts is in the sweetest historic farmhouse surrounded by beautiful grounds. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well as event space. I would and they would recommend having a reservation as space is limited. The food came out a bit slow, but sounds like they had some staffing issues in this day. I loved the bread pudding, and deviled eggs. The strawberry shortcake had a bizzare artificial strawberry flavor. To me this is an appetizer and desert spot! The entrees were good not great for the price. We will definitely be back to try some of their other offerings!

A recommendation by my dad when we were getting together for lunch and it did not disappoint. The service was great, the dining room was full on a Saturday but not overly loud and the fish and chips were great. Perfect balance of breading to fish and fried to be nice a light (yes, I just said fried nice and light). They are known for their bread pudding, and while I am not a fan, there was a fan at the table and he enjoyed every bite. I recommend making reservations, but you should definitely give it a try.

    Buffet food

We've been here before and had a great experience, including to celebrate Mother's Day. The Easter brunch buffet is a hard pass though. The buffet was held in the basement which felt like an old dark church basement. The decor and ambiance left a lot to be desired. The buffet was tucked in the corner. The beautiful patio in the 72° weather sadly wasn't being used. The food was good although minimal options for the price. The dessert table was tucked away in a dark corner and a gratuity of 20% was added to our bill for literally no service other than water service (and we had to ask for water refills...). If you wanted anything else to drink, including orange juice for the kids, you had to go up to the "bar" which was a table set up in the corner. They also had mimosas there but they didn't indicate what was included in the $55 adult price. They charged our tween the adult price and we had to ask them to change it. Overall it felt like I went to grandmas church for an expensive brunch. Won't be back for holiday events. Food Ambiance Price Service Beautiful unused patio

    Meatloaf and chicken dumplings

I know they are known for their chicken and dumplings... but let me tell you! Their meatloaf was AMAZING! I've never had something so good. The mushroom gravy, the garlic mashed potatoes! I don't even like mushrooms but I ate every last bit off my plate! Definitely recommend! The chicken and dumplings was bland compared to this!

I got a chicken pirozhki which had pastry that was flaky and rich but not greasy, and a surprisingly hearty filling of chicken, garlic, white sauce, green onion, and tomato. If you'll forgive the somewhat crass comparison, it was like a Kirkland chicken bake, refined with delicate care into a very gourmet dish. The staff were great, a very positive experience. For counter serve, it was very slow (maybe 10 minutes from ordering to eating) but the shop is located in a little market / event venue so there was plenty to explore while we waited. The real stand out, though, is the pelmeni. Available as a dish or to take home frozen in 3 or 5 pound bags, these little beef or chicken dumplings are perfectly spiced and seasoned. I got a 3 pound bag of the beef and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Prepared as they do in the store, with some sour cream, the pelmeni are a sumptuous meal. The tangy sour cream contrasts the savory meat and accents the subtle spices. I wasn't the only one drooling over the dumplings, either - my puppy, on smelling the beef, had to be locked in the other room to keep him from trying to steal the bowl.

Another Fabulous Breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville…read moreRating: We had another wonderful breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville. Our party of 4.5 was lucky to snag a spot on a typically busy Saturday morning; we must have hit the "sweet spot" because we arrived just before the line formed. A typical wait is 20-30 minutes for a table on weekends, but the food and service make it well worth it. We were greeted and seated quickly, and I really appreciated being offered a choice of seating. We opted for a booth, which worked perfectly for our little one in a booster seat. What made the visit truly special was the owner playing peek-a-boo with my grandson--such a sweet, personal touch that shows how much they care about their guests! The Diner is well-known for its boozy breakfast options. Our table enjoyed a Bloody Mary, Boozy Mimosas, and a Tequila Sunrise. All the drinks arrived quickly and were enjoyed tremendously. For the main course, we ordered: Breakfast Sandwich: Served on a soft, fluffy muffin with bacon and a perfectly cooked egg. Pork Chili Verde (Special): Served over cheddar grits with fresh salsa, crème fraîche, and crispy tortilla chips. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Chicken Fried Steak: A family favorite that resulted in a "clean plate" as usual. Crispy Chicken Club Sandwich: Another lovely, solid meal. Another fantastic visit with great food and even better service. We will definitely be back!

Brick Walls, Thick-Cut Bacon & One Seriously Good Brunch…read more We stumbled into LOAM on a Sunday morning while exploring wine country and quickly realized we had found one of those places locals try to keep to themselves. By the time our food hit the table the restaurant was packed, and honestly, after one bite it was easy to understand why. The space itself sets the tone: exposed red brick, an old historic bar, fresh flowers on the tables, and a cozy Pacific Northwest farmhouse vibe that somehow feels both elevated and relaxed at the same time. What really stood out was the attention to detail and the obvious pride coming from the kitchen. My farmhouse breakfast was outstanding, crispy potatoes with that perfect golden crunch, thick house bacon that was nearly half an inch thick, rich eggs cooked perfectly, and flavors that felt comforting without being heavy. My son-in-law ordered the salmon toast and it was beautiful to look at and even better to eat, silky salmon layered over fresh greens and toast with bright fresh flavors that tasted incredibly clean and balanced. My wife and daughter split the harbor hash which disappeared fast, savory, hearty, and packed with slow-cooked flavor in every bite. The drinks and extras sealed the deal. The Bloody Mary came loaded with pickled vegetables and a beef stick that felt very Pacific Northwest brunch in the best possible way, while the French press coffee was smooth, bold, and exactly what you want on a cool Oregon morning. We also shared the French toast with whipped butter and it was melt-in-your-mouth soft with crispy caramelized edges that tasted like comfort food done by people who really know what they are doing. Friendly staff, fair prices, beautiful presentation, and a kitchen committed to house-made food and local ingredients. LOAM is the kind of brunch spot that makes you slow down, stay awhile, and already start planning your next visit before you leave.

We had a 10:45 reservation but ended up waiting outside on the sidewalk for over 40 minutes. We got a couple of "it'll be soon" updates and one offer to sit at a picnic table on the sidewalk. That wasn't an option for my husband's back. And, by that point, it felt like we'd already had the full sidewalk experience! To add to the frustration, we watched a table that would have fit our party turn over and be given to a group that had arrived well after us. Once seated, things didn't improve much. Our daughter has celiac disease, and after talking through options with our server, she ordered a modified breakfast plate. When it arrived, it had two slices of (gluten-full) toast placed right in the middle. We asked for a remake. While we were waiting someone came over to tell us (firmly) that the kitchen isn't dedicated gluten-free. We fully get that, but that's different from putting bread on top of everything on the plate, especially after we'd already discussed the restriction. As I was saying that, the staff member walked away. The interaction felt more like a lecture than the apology that would've been appropriate. The food overall was okay, but not memorable. My husband said the "special" Bloody Mary was the worst he's ever had--memorable, just not in a good way. On the positive side, the gluten-free coffee cake was excellent, and thankfully the company made the day worthwhile. My guess is there may have been an issue with our reservation. We made it in person previously and it was written in a notebook. When we called to confirm the day before, they initially couldn't find it. It felt like it might not have made it into the system, and they were trying to accommodate on the fly once they realized it. If that's the case, a little transparency upfront would have gone a long way--we would have appreciated the option to adjust our plans rather than end up waiting outside for so long. Overall, this felt like a series of misses and mishandled opportunities to improve the experience. It's also an excellent reminder of why I normally steer clear of dining out on holidays.
