Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose! [Food] There's a nice selection of sharable plates and mains. I've personally tried the flatbread pizza, Bavarian pretzel, Cubano, and Brisket Press, all of which were delish. This I'd say, is a fantastic little hang out! Here's the 411 on The 649: * Parking Situation * Although the location of The 649 is just "where the F" (eye-roller). Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Ironically, I don't drink alcohol but what I love about the 649 is the variety of mocktails! The virgin love spell is my favorite drink and I get it every time. I've tried less of the food than the mocktails, but the Mac and cheese served fajita style on a hot plate was quite good. Great venue for large groups. We had 2 teams plus parents in town for a soccer tournament and decided to try this well reviewed place. The 649 had a cute outdoor patio area and lots of room inside to accommodate us. The staff did well for a surprise crowd midday on a Friday with orders taken at the bar and delivered to our tables. The staff was very friendly and super efficient. They did not miss a beat despite our numbers! The food was well prepared bar food with a modern twist: birria tacos, fresh soup, hand crafted sandwiches, mac cheese, salads, and rice bowls with protein and many other enticing options. I had the southwestern split bean soup which was delicious with fresh greens. We also had the birria tacos and the rice bowl with fresh and pickled veggies topped with seasoned MOJO chicken. Great selection of beer and hand crafted cocktail options as well as slushies and flavored lemonades. Perfect lunch spot as well as a light dinner venue. Good vibes, plenty of parking, indoor/outdoor seating & open late!! Happy hour on weekdays until 4:30pm :-) A big pro is that they have alcoholic slushies (mocha, fruit flavored etc) AND boozy soft serve (we got the spiced apple.. yum!)! The 649 was great! We stopped in for a quick weekend cocktail and snacks and we will definitely be back! We got the French Empress cocktail and two pours of whiskey (EHT BP 11 and Stagg 24C) and for food we tried the nachos and our favorite part was the cheesecake flight! We'd never seen anyone do that before. The service was great and you could tell everyone in there were regulars that can't stop coming back! Mixed emotions for the first try here. Heard about it through a friend, looked it up and was really excited. They matched me and my husbands expectations at the start, but quickly went downhill after we got our second round and appetizer. The line was to the door, and out. I understand it's a Friday afternoon, but there should have been more staff behind the bar taking orders. We were starving, and the line wasn't moving. After a half hour we finally went around everyone and approached a bartender making drinks asking if we could cash out or if we had to wait in the long line to do so. Luckily he said he would cash us out real quick, but if not, we were willing to just leave and let them put whatever tip they wanted since we had our physical card. YUP - this place is IT. I usually hate taprooms (not a beer fan) and think for the most part they are very similar to each other. Not this place! The food is actually good, I would come here just to eat. They also make other cocktails and such so, the selection is wide. This is such a great place for friends hang out, girls night out, or date night! What a hidden gem next to Baskin Robins and Safeway off of Farmington! It was our first time here so we were a little lost when we first got there. It's seat yourself style and there are plenty of picnic table style seating, high tops, and regular tables on the sides. There were food menus at the bar and that's where you order and pay. The drinks: so many great options to choose from. I would definitely recommend doing the flight (comes with 5 choices) so you can get to taste as many of their diverse selection of beer, ciders, and slushies. Those slushies are so yummy it's dangerous! Bonus they are so pretty too! You can really tell the staff put a lot of thought and effort into their presentation for sure. The food: I saw another review to get the pork nachos and I just want to say THANK YOU and YES GET THE PORK NACHOS! The hummus plate had a generous amount of hummus with pita and veggies. And you really can't go wrong with pretzel with cheese fondue. It did get busy and louder on a Thursday night and I can only imagine how crowded it would be on the weekends. A new favorite! The 649 is located on the northwest corner of Farmington and 185. It first opened in 2015. Although I've lived in this area longer than that, I've just recently discovered this awesome place! The 649 serves craft beers, cocktails and yummy bar food in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. IMHO, they make the best tasting Bloody Mary in the area. Trust me, I've tried many. Every food item I've ordered has been fresh and flavorful. As a vegetarian, I really appreciate that their menu offers the choice to enjoy most items with either beans, sweet potatoes or various meats if you're not vegetarian. There is a variety of seating options and a terrific outdoor patio. There are assorted games to play and a huge bookshelf with all kinds of books to read. The music has always been great. We like the outdoor pet friendly seating. Always plenty of picnic tables to choose from. Nice shade trees. Only downside is the motorcycle noise from Farmington but that's not their fault.
