Friendly service. Pretty dead on a Friday at happy hour. I was looking for an open video crack machine and it was slammed at Broadway saloon and slammed at Ringos, so I thought I'd try this place. All the video poker was open and available and it was about 10% full of people for the bar at 5 PM on a Friday. Maybe because the drinks are so expensive. My makers and Coke with grenadine was $10.25 and then of course I'm pretty much obligated to leave a couple bucks for a tip so to pay $12.25 for one drink (which is about half that at Ringo's and even less at Broadway saloon)... It'll be hard for me to come back because of the expense. However, the specials menu for the food looks amazing! A steak dinner for 20 bucks or a loaded baked potato for 9 bucks is very reasonable. I came here to meet up some friends briefly and ended up ordering some food to kill some time. I wanted something light and ordered their Cobb Salad. The portion was generous and the salad was good. Ickabod's is a located a few blocks from my Son's apartment and one of his favorite places. He ordered a burger (with soft drink) and went for the pastrami sandwich special (and a beer). Both came with fries which David thinks are some of the best that he's had. It was all more than enough food. Service was fast and friendly, except when weak WiFi at our end of the building delayed the order for a short while. The inside is neighborhood casual and with enough smallish screens for a game of Keno and watching a variety of sporting events. read more

Ate lunch recently with a family member. Service was pleasant and quick. Food portions and prices were fine but food was a bit underwhelming. Turkey Dip had hardly any taste, even with the Au jus. My guest had a tuna melt which he said was barely warm even when first brought to table so wonder if it sat a bit while mine was being completed. Restrooms were clean and we were greeted on arrival and departure. No big faux pas, but not in a hurry to go back either. I would say my experience here for brunch was very pleasant. I had the chicken fried steak with two easy eggs, and the trio potatoes . The gravy from the chicken fried steak was superb. Chicken was decent. When you have a gravy that tastes like that one does you don't need heavy seasonings on the chicken or the breading so I think that it was a well thought of dish. The eggs were a little bit too easy for me, but I'm not gonna make that a complaint. I'd still say that it was great. -- The only suggestion I have: the orange juice and a pineapple juice taste like trash. It taste chemically in a little bit synthetic I would switch Juice companies if your profit allows. Other than that, it was great would come back. read more

Just went there for lunch and had mushroom soup, chicken fried steak, baked beans and French fries! Everything was delicious. I generally don't even like baked beans and even those were really good. Yelped for breakfast while heading back to Seaside from a Portland doctor appointment and found an old established memory that has been the best bar in Beaverton for over 60 years! We were immediately greeted and seated in a booth near the door and from there, appreciated how spotless and comfortable Ickabod's is. We ordered spicy bloody Mary's along with breakfast, both delicious. My wife commented that along with the garden, her drink had a noticeable amount of vodka which is always a nice surprise. Mother and daughter (seniors that could be twins) were running the front end and after all of those years working here were fantastic at taking care of customers! My fried eggs were prepared a perfect over medium, crispy hash browns and bacon. Her breakfast burrito had it all packed inside, hash browns, egg, sausage, cheese and onion. Topped with salsa and sour cream, perfection! We left for home feeling full and satisfied, knowing we would return again soon for another round or maybe lunch as this place is memorable for friendly service, good food and tasty drinks. read more

Absolutely loved our dining experience here at Ickabods. A local establishment for 40 years. Leslie and Bonnie are owners here and Mayu is a server related to them by marriage. She took our order and was very sweet. Our meals were fresh, bountiful and beautiful on the plate. They tasted so good too. I really can't wait to come back and try other entrees including the roasted pear and chicken. I opted for the turkey avocado bacon this time. The bacon was cooked so perfect and nicely spread across the sandwich. I couldn't ask for a more tasty sandwich. My partner had the Bleu cheese burger and we were both so full at the end. I'll definitely be back. This is such a gem of a local business. Definitely try it if you're visiting Oregon or if you're a local that hasn't visited. Order breakfast delivery this weekend. The food was yummy and well made. The Ickabod Benedict was flavorful, especially the greens. Would order again for dine in because of the egg and hollandaise does not travel well but they packaged separate which was appreciated. In a lot of ways it reminds me of Gustav's in LO (acoustics and physical room are very friendly for your elders, quality food appreciated by all, positive locally-owned vibe). But I shouldn't have assumed wine prices off the food and beer prices and should have asked what a glass of wine cost when it wasn't listed. I was guessing in the $9-12 range with their food prices and their beer in normal pint cost range and didn't want to be gauche and ask. Call me captain gauche from now on: $22 for a glass of generic pinot gris. My dumb ass ordered two. $44 later, I'll happily go back for takeout or weekday lunch, but they're out of budget as a bar or Friday lunch spot. read more

All five of us were so pleased with our menu choices. For starters, the sweet Korean Cauliflower was perfectly tasty. Then, the *best* wedge salad I've ever had in my life (wow!!). My best friend has been raving about Ichabod's to me for some time, and she and I went there once for a drink a few months ago. But since we had already eaten, I didn't get to try the food on that occasion. Recently, my boyfriend and I went there for a date night and had dinner.Our server was extremely nice and helpful. She gave us all sorts of suggestions, and also highly recommended we go there sometime for brunch as they have an in house baker. My boyfriend got the Buffalo chicken wrap and it was definitely the best of our dishes. Loved the batter of the fried chicken, and the sauce was great. The onions rings were spectacular, too! I got the purist mac and cheese and a cup of mushroom soup. The soup was full of flavor and tasted gourmet; it wasn't your average cream of mushroom soup by any means. The only issue we had was that both of my dishes were barely warm. Maybe they were sitting out for awhile, probably waiting for my boyfriend's food to come out. I waited a bit for a waiter to come by so I could ask for them to be heated, and ended up getting hungry while watching my boyfriend eat. I ended up stealing some of his, and I'm glad I did bc as I said, his meal was great! Eventually someone came over and heated it. One suggestion I'd like to make is that I would love to see more non alcoholic beers on the menu. We quit drinking a few years ago, but I still love a good beer...just sans alcohol. There are some excellent non alcoholic beers being made ( surprisingly), such as from Weinstephaner. Lots of great German breweries are offering NA beers, and some excellent sour beers from the states worth trying. Ichabod's only has one NA beer and it's not great. All in all, had my food been hot I would be giving this place 5 stars because as far as bar food goes, it was very good, and the server was amazing. We plan on going back soon and I'll update my review to include how our meal was. I also look forward to trying brunch sometime, as well as their crème brûlée! read more
