The outside is a bit intimidating since you can't see in but it's such a lovely place to get a bite to eat and a couple drinks! Their food is totally out of this world. I can't sing enough praise for their pretzel (and the sauce with it omg) and desserts!! The drinks are fun and well made, I fell in love with their lavender lemon drop. Friendly service. Pretty dead on a Friday at happy hour. I was looking for an open video crack machine and it was slammed at Broadway saloon and slammed at Ringos, so I thought I'd try this place. All the video poker was open and available and it was about 10% full of people for the bar at 5 PM on a Friday. Maybe because the drinks are so expensive. My makers and Coke with grenadine was $10.25 and then of course I'm pretty much obligated to leave a couple bucks for a tip so to pay $12.25 for one drink (which is about half that at Ringo's and even less at Broadway saloon)... It'll be hard for me to come back because of the expense. However, the specials menu for the food looks amazing! A steak dinner for 20 bucks or a loaded baked potato for 9 bucks is very reasonable. Would definitely come back to try the food but probably can't afford to drink here. read more

I came here to meet up some friends briefly and ended up ordering some food to kill some time. I wanted something light and ordered their Cobb Salad. The portion was generous and the salad was good. Ickabod's is a located a few blocks from my Son's apartment and one of his favorite places. He ordered a burger (with soft drink) and went for the pastrami sandwich special (and a beer). Both came with fries which David thinks are some of the best that he's had. It was all more than enough food. Service was fast and friendly, except when weak WiFi at our end of the building delayed the order for a short while. The inside is neighborhood casual and with enough smallish screens for a game of Keno and watching a variety of sporting events. read more

Steak & eggs - asked for the steak medium, and it was underdone. Also, it was about the toughest piece of meat I've ever been served. There were parts I had to cut around, because the steak knife just wouldn't go through it. Problems with service - didn't bring the potatoes, and even after this was pointed out the server didn't make it right until we asked about it when she came out for another table 10 minutes later. This is a true family run restaurant where the original owner (mom) still comes in each day to ensure everything and everyone is at its best! We've come here twice now for breakfast and it truly is one of our favorite places for that home cooked meal where family is always welcomed! Ate lunch recently with a family member. Service was pleasant and quick. Food portions and prices were fine but food was a bit underwhelming. Turkey Dip had hardly any taste, even with the Au jus. My guest had a tuna melt which he said was barely warm even when first brought to table so wonder if it sat a bit while mine was being completed. Restrooms were clean and we were greeted on arrival and departure. No big faux pas, but not in a hurry to go back either. Medium sized football TV screens were a plus but only one person besides ourselves seemed interested so not a big deal"sports bar" vibe. I would say my experience here for brunch was very pleasant. I had the chicken fried steak with two easy eggs, and the trio potatoes . The gravy from the chicken fried steak was superb. Chicken was decent. When you have a gravy that tastes like that one does you don't need heavy seasonings on the chicken or the breading so I think that it was a well thought of dish. The eggs were a little bit too easy for me, but I'm not gonna make that a complaint. I'd still say that it was great. -- The only suggestion I have: the orange juice and a pineapple juice taste like trash. It taste chemically in a little bit synthetic I would switch Juice companies if your profit allows. Other than that, it was great would come back. read more

Just went there for lunch and had mushroom soup, chicken fried steak, baked beans and French fries! Everything was delicious. I generally don't even like baked beans and even those were really good. Lately, I haven't been eating out as much as I used to because prices are high. I felt that for the quality and portion sizes this was a great find. I've got enough leftovers for another meal. Yelped for breakfast while heading back to Seaside from a Portland doctor appointment and found an old established memory that has been the best bar in Beaverton for over 60 years! We were immediately greeted and seated in a booth near the door and from there, appreciated how spotless and comfortable Ickabod's is. We ordered spicy bloody Mary's along with breakfast, both delicious. My wife commented that along with the garden, her drink had a noticeable amount of vodka which is always a nice surprise. Mother and daughter (seniors that could be twins) were running the front end and after all of those years working here were fantastic at taking care of customers! My fried eggs were prepared a perfect over medium, crispy hash browns and bacon. Her breakfast burrito had it all packed inside, hash browns, egg, sausage, cheese and onion. Topped with salsa and sour cream, perfection! We left for home feeling full and satisfied, knowing we would return again soon for another round or maybe lunch as this place is memorable for friendly service, good food and tasty drinks. read more

This place has been quite the find for my husband and me. We are new to the area and have been on the lookout for an over-the-top delicious, reasonably priced and wonderful personality kind of restaurant and we hit the jackpot with Ickabod! First off, love the feel you get when you walk in. You can tell the place has history behind it. True to that, we discovered that the place has been run by the family for over 40 years and the primary member of that being Big Bonnie who is in her 80s and extremely active - making sure delicious food is had by all. The husband commented that this is the kind of place a big chain like Applebee's probably got the idea from and tried to be but failed miserably. Now, to the food. We were hungry so between the two of us we got the soft pretzel, the house salad, the purist macaroni and cheese and the BOD burger. The soft pretzel was succulent and just a beautiful piece of bread soaked in butter and served alongside a delicious cheese sauce. The bread itself was so buttery on its own that I didn't really need the sauce. The BOD burger was had by my husband who shed an actual tear over how delicious it was. The key winning factor here was the bun and the attention to detail to every single thing on the plate making it sing. This according to him, was one of the three best burgers he has ever had in his life (and there have been many burgers in many cities to pick from). I've often found that restaurants don't pay much attention to their house salad but that is not the case at Ickabod's. It was full of vibrant veggies - cucumber and all, dressing on the side and some epic croutons. The macaroni and cheese was very well made and while I found it slightly under-salted, I think it was still very good. Even the iced tea here was delicious!! Needless to say, this is a place we will return to. We love that we were seated immediately, the food was reasonably priced and more importantly, it was frigging delicious. Also side note, this place is open beyond 1 PM at least on Sundays - so give them a call even if the website says they're closed, you will not regret it! read more
