I had a great experience at Broadway Saloon. The service was excellent,super friendly and attentive and both the food and drinks were on point. But let me talk about the quesadilla for a second because WOW. I ordered it thinking it would be a basic bar snack, and it ended up being the best quesadilla I've ever eaten. Friday night prime rib special. I arrived. Place is pretty full. Many people gathered in groups playing cards having drinks ordering food. Somebody sitting at the bar and draw their prime rib dinner. Another person in the corner on his computer with headphones. After work crowd having a few drinks. Hustling and bustling drinks being served games are on TVs on the walls. I grabbed the table in the corner, which was empty. I was greeted pretty quickly before I finish seating myself. Asked if I knew what I want or if they could help me. I ordered the prime rib special had your choice of mashed potatoes or loaded, baked potato. Thinking it was garlic, mashed potatoes from previous reviews I might order the loaded baked potato if I would return. He had your choice between brown gravy and country gravy. I was asked I would like my prime rib done. I chose, medium rare. It arrived fairly quickly it had green beans with onions and bacon actually pretty tasty. To go with the prime rib is au jus and horseradish cream. The dinner came with super salad. I chose the soup which was clam chowder as waitress said with a happy smile. Great service by the way. The clam chowder potatoes were not cooked all the way. The prime rib was melting, your mouth, horseradish sauce was creamy a decent taste of horseradish not overbearing. Everything was fresh. Minus the potatoes in the clam chowder. Everything was decent. I give four stars, partly the friendliness of the servers the effort, the happy crowd. It was a nice prime rib dinner. read more

My experience at Broadway Saloon was unacceptable. After I had already been seated at a table and ordered my food, my server asked me to provide a credit card because she was concerned I might leave without paying. I found the request insulting, especially since we've dined there in the past and always left a generous tip. When I questioned why I was being asked for a card, the server told me point blank that she has to pay if customers leave without paying. Whether that's the restaurant's policy or not, customers should not be made to feel like suspected thieves because staff are worried about being financially penalized. What made the situation even more frustrating was that I observed other customers being served without being asked for a credit card. The inconsistent treatment left me feeling singled out and unwelcome. The food became an afterthought because the entire experience was overshadowed by how I was treated. A restaurant should make customers feel welcome, not accused. I left feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and with no desire to return. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Broadway Saloon. read more

The food here has been hit or miss over the years but I still like the location and the drinks are well priced. There's never any space on the video poker machines but they do have a smokers lounge out back in case I'm with somebody who smokes. It's fun to have dinner downtown and then head over to Broadway saloon for a nightcap! glad to see they're still in business after all these years! read more

5 stars for being open on Christmas Day (starting at 5pm)! Staff are friendly and attentive. Turns out their cab is box wine, but it was surprisingly really tasty. The prices are very reasonable. It's a great place to hang with friends. The only downside is the lack of street parking. read more

I've heard it called everything from a steakhouse to a dive bar but honestly it's too clean and well kept for dive bar status. I'd say more just a casual place to grab a decent steak and a cold brew - though all those old neon signs and the row of video poker games on the back wall do take it down a notch or two. But the place is otherwise legit, with a serious full length wooden bar as you walk in, mixing good and strong and cheap drinks and sporting a decent enough tap list. The food can be hit or miss, with everything from fried chicken tenders to burgers to salads --- and yes, steaks --- on offer. What I've had isn't exceptional but service is good, friendly and attentive, and the prices are decent. The whole place has a woody, old time Western feel and just a low key neighborhoody vibe. There are TVs and a big screen showing games too. Nothing to go out of your way for, but a solid place to hang your hat for an hour or two. read more

We visited for our first time, and we will definitely be back! The service was just awesome, and the food was delicious. Two of us had loaded French dips, one club sandwich, and one hummus plate. The food was fresh, hot, and plentiful. Most of us had half our food to take home. The decor was bright and clean. We sat in a booth that was actually old church pews. Very cool! read more

We've been coming here for months now for Sunday breakfast, we've introduced several of our friends to the Broadway Saloon to join us for breakfast BUT it seems that they have gone downhill with their breakfast routine. Last week we met up with some friends who came clear across town the breakfast wasn't the best. Shockingly because the service was outstanding. The breakfast wasn't even that good scrambled chorizo how hard is that to make French toast looks like it was the last 2 slices in the bag flat smashed not a good impression on our friends. Today the cook hasn't shown up and it's 8:44 AM. The opening person was here to unlock the door but no cook. You couldn't ask for a more gracious server she explained that the cook hadn't shown up. This appears like this is a on going process the owner not being responsible to keep their house in order. Needless to say there's 8 people here for breakfast but no cook! I'm personally done with the waiting am I'm outta here. Maybe the owner will give this problem some response though and shit can this person and get some respect, because the cook doesn't have respect for the establishment. We left it's not worth wasting time money on a cook who has to start the morning without a prepped kitchen I know the meal wouldn't be worth the wait. This is a sort of dive bar on the "main drag" in old town Beaverton. The place has been here forever and I come by every now and then. Dunno why it took me 35 years to write this review. Maybe because Yelp wasn't around for much of that time? This saloon is not a biker bar although it's not uncommon to see bikers here. And of course a lot of townies. I go here for a beer and a burger although they do have other menu choices and offer a full bar. Can be a little noisy but it's usually ok for meeting friends at lunchtime. Wait staff is great. They run from really good to totally amazing. There's a couple of female barkeeps who really go above and beyond. Very friendly place. Decent prices. Service is usually fast even when they are busy. They always keep the brews coming so it's a serious and professionally run saloon. read more

Certainly not a place you go to for ambiance and class, but as far as dives go, it's up there as one of my local favorites. To me, the best dive bars are a bit sketchy but deliver with cheap drinks and decent food. I've still yet to find a chicken fried stake that is as satisfying or as HUGE as what you get here. Even won trivia night here and scored me a gift card to come back. Occasionally they'll have live music, but the venue is not really set up well for that so the music will absolutely dominate the acoustics and drown out any conversation you may be trying to have. I've come here for late night, and it's pretty chill. Great and fast service. I tried it for lunch and was pretty disappointed. Tge cheese logs are not great. Our tots were still cold. Tge chicken in our chicken tacos were cold and the taco shell was stale. My advice, come for late night drinks and a dive bar experience after dinner elsewhere. read more

My wife and I were looking for a local place to get a steak and landed at the Broadway Saloon. It was a Friday night and the place was slammed. It's a smallish space with moderate ceiling height and wood floors so between that and the full house it was LOUD. For some reason there was but one wait person but she was a real trooper - got the job done and maintained a sense of humor through it all. I both admired and appreciated that. My wife had prime rib that was a little too done. I opted for fish tacos and a bowl of chowder which was on the thick side. Our water was never refilled. The desert options were minimal and we passed. Overall, the food was respectable though nothing I'd go back for nor recommend. This seems more of a neighborhood watering hole than a restaurant and there's nothing wrong with that so long as one's expectations are on par and you have a preference to drink over eating. Again, props and kudos to the waitress that helped us and everyone else. That said, I am scoring Broadway Saloon 3 stars which might be a stretch. read more

I've heard Oregonians complain about the OLCC, but you have no idea how good you have it. Every restaurant, bowling alley, movie theater, supermarket, bookstore and souvenir shop in this place can pour beer and wine. There are few experiences in this state that can't be accompanied by an alcoholic beverage, and that's wonderful. However, Oregon bars can throw up "No Minors" signs and bar kids who aren't of drinking age... and that's wonderful, too. Oregon--especially Portland and Bend--tries to emulate European pub culture without going through the trouble of asking itself how that culture came to be. As a result, you get parents who bring their wailing fuss balls into brewpubs and breweries to "normalize" their exposure to alcohol without actually instilling any of the traits or controls necessary for them to enjoy, tolerate or at least not disrupt that experience. A box of neglected toys and a patch of field turf in your brewery is not a "children's area," and its presence does not indicate that parents can let children off leash to trip staff and annoy customers. Hence, some of the finest establishments in this state--the truly beloved watering holes--have those red "No Minors" signs tacked up on the door. The Broadway is one of my favorites. Not a dive bar in any true sense (real dive bars don't have video boards for their taps or full cocktail menus--though I can see where the lottery machines might throw you off), the Broadway is just a relaxed pastiche of a Victorian train station bar. From all the brass and beadboard to the long bench tables and church-pew snugs, the Broadway offers a cozy little Western homage with enough flatscreens and digital jukebox tunes to ground it in reality. The tap list is better than it needs to be at a place around the corner from the Raindrop and Loyal Legion, but it's the only video board I've ever seen Bud (in Oregon?) and Coors Light on. The bar keeps a running list of seasonal cocktails and will make its own sangria and infused spirits every so often. Where an actual dive will scowl at you for ordering anything with more than two ingredients, the bartender here (pandemic poached from another establishment we won't name) actually encourages folks to test the boundaries a bit. There's nothing too complex here (that's why they own Bootlegger's next door), but there's a solid pub menu and steak selection in an area of town that weirdly short on good pub grub. With Ringo's moving (again) and all of the transplanted Portland places wanting to play Taproom Chuck E Cheese--and the cart pod just serving as a dog park for children--this is the last corner of Old Town that drinking-age adults can call their own. Keep it that way and tip your server/kid bouncer accordingly. read more

Finally went to our first "bar" experience during Covid-19 only to be highly disappointed by the lack of PPE by bartenders and kitchen staff. Seems that there are no guidelines in place, none of the employees were wearing masks or gloves to serve food or drinks and the cleaning and disinfecting of tables and chairs was definitely lacking.. bar seating was open, lottery games being played with out sanitizing between patrons etc.. When I asked the bartender about facial covering guidelines she told me she has a medical condition, apparently ALL the employees have the same condition...and she added it's up to the establishment.... ummm no , it's OHA..CDC..and governor mandated.... We paid and tipped+ and left, hopefully the owner can buy some masks for the employees now.. read more

$15 old fashioned tasted like nail polish remover. The happy hour tacos were so dry they tasted like I was eating a microwaved shoe.

Do not go to this bar - I was physically attacked, assaulted, and beat up by one of their regulars and the bar knew and did nothing. I walked into this bar with a friend on a week night around 10:00pm for some food and a few drinks. As we sat there the bartender said a very rude comment to me. As she walked away I half whispered to my friend, "That was rude." I'm sure I wasn't as quiet as I thought so the bartender turns around and doubles down on her comment. At this point I wanted to leave as obviously things were not going well and I did not feel welcomed in this environment. I immediately asked for my bill and paid it. My friend and I proceeded to walk out of the bar and the next thing I knew a man's fist was in my face. We were directly outside of the bar where the picnic tables are and he proceeded to beat me for a good 5 minutes. There is absolutely no way that no one in the bar didn't hear what was happening as we were screaming and no one came to help us. He proceeded to beat me in the face, kick me in the gut, and hit my head on the concrete several times. I had a concussion, a black eye, bruising all over, a fracture in my nose, and I have nerve damage to this day in my right eye. After he was done beating me (my friend tried to stop him but she is 5'2" 110 pounds) he proceeded to go into the bar and grab his leftovers and then come back out and drive away. Not one person in the bar tried to stop him. As soon as he drove away, the bartender came out and asked us if we were okay. So she knew. She saw exactly what was happening and proceeded to let it happen. We then called the police (we had to do it ourselves as the bar had not done it). After the incident, I tried to contact the owner of the bar several times to have them help with the incident and they ignored me at every turn. To this day I have never had anyone reach out to me from the bar to apologize or ask how I was doing even though I left several messages and voicemail. When the incident happened, the police were able to retain surveillance footage (not from the bar but from the business next door) and the perpetrator was found guilty of assault. It's absolutely his fault but Broadway saloon did nothing to help me as a victim before during or after the attack. Stay far far far away for your own safety. read more

I absolutely LOVE Broadway. It's one of my home bars and I love the food, drinks, servers and of course the regulars that I consider friends. My ONLY complaint is that Broadway BADLY needs some acoustic treatment. It gets so loud and shrieking when it's busy. That it's hard to talk to the people sitting right in front of you. I understand that Broadway is a historical building and they don't want to mess with the architecture, but there has be a way to muffle the sound. At least a little bit. It's hard to hear the music, too! read more

Ok stay away from this place if you can, the food is decent. Not my problem with it. Me and my fiancée went recently, and the service was probably the worst I have ever seen in any establishment. Maybe it was just our waitress, but we were kind of in a hurry because we were seeing a movie at 5. We thought we'd have plenty of time, but when it came time to check out of our tab/get our bill/try to leave, the waitress would literally not come over and help us. We were waving at her, she was standing at the table right next to our having conversations as we were saying hello can we leave right in her ear. It seemed like she was mad at us for some reason and was blatantly ignoring us. This was happening for a good 7-10 minutes where we our food was gone but couldn't leave. So we walk out. And then we find out two days later that waitress tipped herself 5 dollars. We sent an email to management but I suppose they don't really care. read more

Cute old school bar in downtown beaverton. Went in on a Saturday for some late night food. We got there at midnight. I believe they close at 2:30 am on Saturdays. I got their French dip with fries which was $13. It was really good. My husband and I both got drinks. He got a fort George ipa and I got a Moscow mule. Our total came out to $28.50 which I think is a good price! They have happy hour every day from 2-5 pm. They have slot machines, keno, and TouchTunes jukebox. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the lady who was working was friendly. The only downside was that it ended up getting busy and service got kind of slow. I think she was the only bartender working at that time. We will definitely be coming back and glad we found a good bar in the area! read more

Literally everytime I have been there when its busy the same 2 women working the bar. Will see something. If they dont like it they will exaggerate it to something that didn't happen. Then tell the entire bar a bs story about it. Ex: one time the server ran in to a girls hair. No big deal right its as busy bar. She then tells the hole bar individually the girl flipped her hair in to her face more than once. They then 86 her. That's right she was 86ed not for fighting, not for anything. This type of thing has happened every single time I have been there and its busy. I'm done with the drama of this place. The staff needs to understand they arent the lord of the bar. If I could give this place negative stars I would. First off racist patrons and second off passive and rude bartenders. I walk in to no one greeting me and then I am immediately "greeted" by a bar patron commenting on my curly hair in a non flattering way. I ignore him and think that the service would be fine it's just one of their maybe rowdier customers. The bartender looks at me and says "what do you want?" No hello, no what would you like, no niceties what so ever. She says "ok can I see ID?" And then walks off and gets my food. She gives my food with a "here" and the total. I have never been treated so rudely especially after being mocked by one of their customers to which the bartender was having a pleasant conversation with before I walked in. This place is a terrible establishment and I hope they check their staff on proper customer service. read more

I love the selection of beers in many and more of the bars up here! It's great to have more than just a few options on tap and I liked the nitro stout I had quite a lot. I have had a few meals in similar establishments while visiting Portland, so I had high expectations for the food. I think it's my own fault for ordering a steak after 9PM... but it was not a very good steak. I don't know that this place is as much a restaurant as it is a bar as the night wears on, though - so my experience may have been different if I had come in earlier in the evening. Steak aside, the meal came with a tasty baked potato and delicious steamed veggies, however, so I had a good amount to eat and enjoy. Cara my wife says I want to real good steak for a very good price....... so I didnt want to drive into downtown and we yelped steaks.....The broadway saloon came up in hte top 5 and we had never been before so on a sunday night we threw the dice and walked in for a new adventure! This place is fantastic and we will be back again and again. First of all the place is historic. The menu says it was once the town jail and they have some of the bars on the wall to prove it. The interior is very clean and organized, the service was very fast and friendly and the food well here it comes......... I love me a good burger and so I went with the Grinder....... it has it all egg, Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, ham and bacon. Yep it had all that on it and I got it with Tater tots crispy and hot. OK so Cara wanted steak and thats the reason we are here........ not disappointed in the least. she ordered the rib eye steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables. First of all the steak is only 10 oz but hey with flavor like this that is just right. This came with REAL REAL mashed potatoes even with some lumps to give it texture, and fresh long green beans like grandma used to make you eat and you never like but now that you are an adult you crave them. Yes this place is a solid go to and they have some great BBQ wings that I really enjoyed. I had the first visit there on 9/27/2021 around 10:00 pm. The lady ordered me the wrong food order, instead of chicken wings, I got fried chicken. I had a couple of drinks. When the bill ca,e, she had added the wrong order as well. I asked to take it off but she rudely asked that I already started eating it and could take it home and did not want to remove the bill. As If she was going to take the wrong ordered food and going to eat herself or was going to give it to some other customer. I am sure that would go to the garbage, fried potatoes, etc. So, instead of wasting the food, I packed and left. I was going to drink a couple more drinks and end up spending $ 50+ on alcohol and food anyways. But rude behavior won't bring me back there. I just paid for extra food as a tip and left. Do not recommend this place. We are there to spend and have fun so be respectful and nice. read more
