Cheeseburger w/fries
Jojo A.

I haven't been to this establishment in many, many years. I decided to order a cheeseburger to go and it's just the same as I remember it. I ordered online, it was easy peasy. My order was ready for pickup at the time it said it would be. Burger is the same as before, delicious and very big with fresh veggies.

Another great outdoor lunch at Canyon Grill. The service is excellent. And I do love their chili!

Large burger, great fries, chocolate malt, and Mexican Coke.

Haven't tried since new owners but burgers are still great, crispy fries and delicious chocolate malt! They are open on Mondays.

We really love this place. I had the chili burger and Kathy had the Hawaiian Burger. The burgers were huge. They were hot. They are really tasty. It was a really retro vibe Service was pretty fast. It was really crowded but I understood why it was so crowded when I learned it was there last weekend. I'm glad someone recommended we get there because unfortunately they've closed their doors.

Tasty 50-50 and a brew

The most recent review for this place is quite old so I was worried that they closed up. Happy to see the lights still on. This circa 50's diner has been here forever. Technically not actually on Canyon although the back of the place is. On street parking and there is a small mall adjacent with more parking. Run by a lovely old couple. I say old although the wife is probably around my Daughter's age. Cheerful and energetic greeting and service. It's almost like dropping in to visit my favorite aunt. Food is good and reasonably priced considering what you get. Burger and a beer for $20 +tip. Fries are ok. They are the shoestring type and tasty. I prefer the full sized big brothers. Burgers (I like the 50-50) are good. World's greatest? Nope... sorry. I don't think that's what they strive to be. They are just a nice, quiet, friendly, neighborhood eatery trying to make a living which can't be easy these days. Ample inside seating although nothing fancy. Also a few tables outside which is very pleasant watching the world go by if it's not raining. I do prefer to sit outside with my Harley parked close to me. Lah-dee-day Yuppies and the GenZ crew will probably hate this place. Although they do serve wine so there is that. Not an extensive menu but they have what most people would like. Not open for b'fast, unfortunately.

Cheeseburger with grilled onions

Solid burger joint, no fluff no frills just good burgers and fries with good service. I would recommend this local burger spot if you want old school vibes with decent pricing and quick service. The burgers were bigger than I was expecting but still tasty. The fries had a decent amount of seasoning to it and fried to perfection! I loved it. Burgers: 8/10 Fries: 8.5/10 Old school soda: 10/10 *vanilla cream soda Service: 8/10 I would recommend and revisit.

A smorgasbord of available shakes. Some are seasonal and some are on the menu the whole time.

Great little place with limited inside seating and additional covered seating outside. Had the Canyon Burger and it was amazing, good size patty with Swiss, bacon, avocado, mushrooms, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and their signature Canyon sauce. The meat quality was good and the patty had very good flavor. The buns were fresh, the add ons were properly grilled, and the Canyon sauce (Mayo, Sriracha, roasted and minced red peppers as far as I can tell) is a perfect finish to the burger. Be aware that it is slippery and may require a fork if you are wearing light colored clothes The fries were fresh off the fryer and of the shoestring variety. Oil was fresh and there were no off flavors (a variety of sauces were offered to dip them in, I chose the Canyon Sauce. Old fashioned hand dipped milkshakes are available (yummy) and in a great variety of flavors. You should definitely stop by and enjoy the offerings, you will be glad you did. If in a hurry, they seem to have a steady flow of to go orders.

Pleasure Burger - Western BBQ burger

This is a stunning burger…read more I have come here an embarrassing amount of times since moving back to Portland. The first time I came alone, just a little hungry and a lot broke. So I got the $6 little pleasure burger. A simple, single patty smash burger. It's everything a McDonald's burger wishes it could be - beefy and drippy, a squishy, slightly sweet bun, oozing hot grease without being heavy, lacy and crisp edges, and held together with the right amount of American cheese. It was the perfect amount for that day. Then I returned with my date. Twice. And he brought his coworkers for lunch because he liked it so much. I have had the western and the mushroom burger since, as well as the parm and chive waffle fries. They have nuggets and I'm inclined to believe they're great. The staff is great, it's a small team and they're all there every single day. They care about their product and your experience. The space is a simple counter, not good for large groups. It should be noted that even though their burgers would be great with a beer, they don't seem to have a liquor license! So don't expect an IPA with that shroom burger. Maybe someday!

The water is serve yourself which I actually prefer. There wasn't a ton of seating on the cashier level but there is more seating upstairs which we did not visit to take a look at. There's also plenty of seating outside and covered tent seating. It took about 12-15 minutes for the food to be served which was ideal. While we were waiting, one of the employees started sweeping a rug outside the kitchen but wasn't even making contact with the bristles and the rug? Must've been on that zaza I ordered the Morrison and tried the Steel this time around. I have to say, I'm going to ditch the chicken next time and go with the Steel!! I also tried the sellwood and I have to say, both are really tasty. Me and my wife wanted to try a new burger spot initially having already been here before but the lack of open options were lackluster so we chose to come to a spot where we knew would suffice!

Especially loved the open windows and bar seating.

I didn't expect to find good BBQ outside of the south, but this was a pleasant surprise!…read moreAnd honestly, it shouldn't come as a surprise because the food in Portland is some of the best in the country. IMO. This BBQ is Kansas City style, so the sauce is a bit sweeter. We got the brisket, the chicken wings, and sides. We couldn't decide if on the sauce for the wings, so we got all 3 on the side. The Alabama white sauce was A+ The brisket was perfectly tender. It had great flavor and marbling. The wings are full wings with the drummette attached. That's the way to do it! They are smoked and then fried. They got the crisp just right. Let's talk about sides! We got the collard greens, coleslaw, and baked beans. They were all FANTASTIC! The coleslaw is a vinegar coleslaw, which I love. It wasn't the sweet mayonnaise style that most people don't enjoy. It was so good! The collard greens were perfectly flavored and tender! I couldn't have done better myself. The beans were sweet but also savory. Not super sweet, which makes me happy. Very well balanced. The server was super friendly and nice. She explained everything to us and made sure we were happy. They have a bar with various beers. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Very casual but perfect for BBQ. Highly recommend you try this spot!

The other 2 got the pulled pork nachos and shared it and had some even left over. We all liked our meals and would eat there again when in the area.

I got the small Smasher without pickles and with grilled onions and split small fries with my sister. The burger came to the table with pickles but easy to remove on my own. The flavor of the burger was delicious after a long day of walking. The ingredients tasted very fresh. The fries were a good thickness and had a beer battered taste. I love that there's a ketchup bottle for you at the table. You can also grab ketchup packets and other sauces near the fountain drink station. The towel roll at the tables was great. Didn't have to get up and get napkins. The food arrived within 10 minutes of seating. Water cups are available. If you're feeling adventurous you can try the Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon burger. There's two restroom stalls. One of them needed to be cleaned but the employee at the counter was kind enough to warn me. Code is needed to enter the restrooms. There's a changing station, manual flush toilet, automatic towel dispenser, and changing station. The employees were chill and seemed to have a good relationship with each other.
