Beast Master Chopped Roast Beef sandwich
    Russ L.

We discovered then at the Vancouver Farmers Market in 2025. Their baked goods are fantastic - the jalapeno pretzel stick, pull-apart sourdough ring, chocolate scones & tarts. You can't miss. We went to their brick & mortar store in Portland on Stark on the east side (perfect location for being up the block from Ota Tofu & Ranger Chocolate - 3 stops in 1 trip). Their chopped roast beef sandwich is unlike anything I've ever had. Check out the Beaverton storefront too, which opened in June of 2025.

    Papa Gabe
    Kristi P.

I LOVE the chopped sandwiches at the original SE location! There's something transformative about combining all of the ingredients by chopping them all together so you get some of everything in every bite. I was excited they opened a location in Hillsboro! Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the focus of this outlet. They only have 2 chopped sandwich options at this location. The Papa Gabe was tasty and filling (there is only one size), and the chicharron were a fun addition. It didn't seem as chopped (the pieces were larger), but it was still good, and the bread was fresh and delicious with a delicate outer crust and soft interior. Services is friendly, and there's a good amount of seating.

    Uncooked bacon

Why why WHY would ANYONE put uncooked bacon on a $15.00 sandwich. As you can see the entire sandwich was drenched in oil.Not a drizzle. We are recooking the bacon.

Mole and papa Gabe in the back
    Cierra H.

Sandwiches were great, bread is so light and fresh. I tried the mole and the papa gabe, both which were delicious. The frijoles were perfect, just like my family makes. I stopped in at the end of the day, a little before 3 so they were out of pastries and sesame bread, but this just tells me they truly only serve fresh. The ambiance was chill, with music low enough it adds to the vibe but you can still think and focus on other things. The only thing I noticed that would be cool to see them add is a menu of some kind for their coffees, I wasn't sure if they have any specialties or just brewed. I'll be back to find out!

    Cochinita Pibil

This is the second location I've visited, but I was happy to see some other options for sandwiches. They have the best bread and you should definitely come early for a variety of options. I had the cochinita pibil which was so tasty, but really meat heavy. Even with the salsa, it could have used more veggies or a slaw.

I was sad to see Pips close its beaverton location, but I was happy to see that a new bakery, Dos Hermanos, took its place. Dos Hermanos has a rustic contemporary decor, which suited the bakery space perfectly. I do miss the colorful tile work that Pips had and hope that those tiles got reused somehow. All of the baked goods on display looked delicious. Over two visits we tried a lemon danish, a concha bread, a sourdough loaf, and an Italian sandwich. We enjoyed them all. However, my favorite was the sourdough loaf. It was a size of a baby and was quite hefty too. We took it home, cut it into thick slices and roasted it lightly to warm it up. It tasted heavenly with eggs, butter and jam. Dos Hermanos also has a presence at the Beaverton Farmer's market, but I preferred going to their brick and mortar appt as there was more to choose from. Overall, I'm in love with their sourdough loaf. For 10 bucks it was quite a great deal. I'll return for more.

    Turkey bacon avocado sando!

Swung through this new spot and we were not disappointed! Great tasting bread, good texture, and a good quantity of toppings on our sandwiches! Not to mention, the sandwiches are good size, and felt worth the price! One note, they will give you a number, but the intent is for you to pick up your order from the counter. We didn't realize that, and they brought out our order, but made it clear the actual intent. Swing through and try it sometime!

I ordered the Cobb salad to-go and it was delicious! Loaded with ingredients so very filling and everything was fresh.

I ordered the Italian, which was delicious however I wish they gave more meat than just one slice. I opted for the sesame baguette which was very yummy. Next time I'd get the italian and ask for double meet. The staff is really nice and the space is very clean. They have music playing but it's not too loud that you can't have a conversation. Also had to get their soft pretzel which was perfection

They took over Pips old spot and redid the space to match their aesthetic and bakery vibe. Although I was sad to see Pips go, I was excited to see them open here since they are so popular at the farmers market. We came on a Saturday morning and there was a line but it moved fast. We got a concha and a pastry to go (forgot the name). Both were delicious. I would stop by here again and dine in, possibly try their sandwiches.

    Tu mero mole sandwich
    Monica S.

Their sandwiches are huge; large enough to share between two people. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. This mole chicken sandwich had the right amount of meat to sauce ratio making it one of the mosey delectable sandwiches I've had. I hope they make this a permanent on their menu.

Lemon poppy seed muffin - very nicely done
    Deb K.

Breakfast sandwiches are super tasty as were the pastries. The coffee was quite bitter and we noticed another table adding cream as we needed to. We usually drink our coffee black but this was not possible today. The lemon poppy seed muffin was delicious! The El Fresa sandwich was also really good but the biscuit fell apart making it very messy to eat. This is an order at the counter type of place with plastic utensils. Nothing fancy but quiet and fairly quick. Overall we liked it but not sure it's a place we'd go out of our way to go back to.

Love this place! Usually get the breakfast sandwiches and baked treats. They always hit!

I thought we'd go there for some to-go, and hubby found a parking spot, just around the corner, in the shade. As he was turning right, I also spotted a 'bakery' written on the window. I was thinking of waiting for him, in the car, and just grab a chicken sandwich. But, after he left, I decided to go inside the bakery to browse. He was standing at the corner, reading the menu of the shop, when I called him to 'Come over here!' I didn't know what I just walked in. Ooddles & oodles of cookies, cakes, pastries, sandwiches, like a one-stop bakery, cafe to-go. I started to take a video, of the whole shop, but sadly, as I turned it off, I realized I was just turning it ON! Instead of buying one sandwich for each of us, we ended up buying 4 of our 'look scrumptious' pastries that could fill us up. (Photos are not good quality, because I thought I was video-taping it. That's the result!) We each shared everything! We both agreed, it was probably one of the best lunches we've eaten. The pastry were still warm, the cheese in our ham was melting in your mouth. The spinach was just out of the oven. Everything was just wonderful! We will surely stop by here again, and buy twice as much, should last us a week. Maybe freeze some, so when we are tempted for some pastry, we are ready!

My family came in needing to buy slices of cake we were ready to purchase and a line was forming and we were the first in line yet the workers were just standing in the back behind the cakes chatting. No one paid ANYONE in line any attention. We usually have such amazing service, quick, attentive, helpful. But maybe at the end of the day they don't look towards the door or maybe the tea was just too good to stop chatting about. Either way, hope they get trained to know when customers are lined up and ready to buy that they should try to get them taken care of so that lines don't form behind them.

My review did explicitly detail the issues and frankly I have spent way too much of my time already trying to get a response to the disappointment in a shop I have spent a lot of money in! Let's face it, your pastries are not inexpensive. But that's not really the point, as I am never concerned with price if it is something I enjoy. The point is the all around disrespect and the total lack of customer service. I left, as I said, 3 messages, and no one felt compelled to reach out to address or apologize for ANY of the issues I detailed, from the smashed, ill-packaged pastry to the fact that not one employee in all the times I was in there spending money since that location opened ever mentioning a rewards program- ever.
