I was so excited to try this place, I'd always wanted to try tanghulu and they made it! There was a sign in the door that says " made Friday and Saturday only. " so I assumed it'd be safe to come back in a Friday. On Friday k come in ready to try a few things and the owner snaps at me and tells me why she doesn't understand why I thought they made it on a Fridays, they've only ever made it on Saturday. I explained we saw the paper and she said no that was for something else. I then SUGGESTED she put up a sign explaining that tanghulu was made only in Saturdays and she started arguing with me about why I was wrong. I again explained it was a suggestion. At that point I should have just walked out, this store is only open like 4 days a week and the days it is opened they barely sell anything! My friends play an Avatar based d&d so I got some of these candy games for them and we got two parfaits (one raspberry chocolate one strawberry.) we told her we wanted our order to go. She handed our food to us without lids and we had to ask for them. My ice cream was okay, it was vanilla soft serve, with strawberries, and strawberry sauce, nothing crazy (but better at McBees!) but my partners was GROSS! The raspberry was overpowering and even though it didn't list coffee it had a STRONG flavor of coffee. I hate coffee. We ended up throwing his away it was so gross! Overpriced ash for a small asf amount. but tastes really good and it's high quality. It was brought to us. Oversaturated overstimulating decor and kind of a small shop because it's with an apartment complex. It's more for anime lovers or ice cream fans. Interesting experience, but I don't think I'd come again due to personal bias. read more

Sweet treats | Friendly staff I'm so happy my husband found this place! They have my favorite flavors and so many great treats, it's hard for me to choose one or two in one visit. It's a fun, unique place with great staff! I also love that they celebrate Pride Month and support LGBTQ+. My eye immediately caught the huge wall art inside when I entered. It's beautiful! They also have a gashapon station and mini crane game. Plenty of inside seating with some outdoor seats. They have one kiosk to place your order, or you can talk to the person working at the cashier. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They told us the man working in the kitchen only works on Saturdays, which is when he makes special treats like the Ube Japanese cheesecake! This is a good one! It's very light and delicious, a perfect treat for Ube lovers. Love matcha? No problem, they have so many matcha flavored treats. I went with the mini taiyaki matcha drizzle. It has a delicious Bavarian cream filling with matcha soft serve. Whoa - so good! I liked getting the mini taiyaki because I wanted to share. My husband enjoyed their coffee cold float! Their coffee is from down the street, so it's local! And my daughter loved their chocolate taiyaki with Oreo crumble. Their soft serve is so creamy - yum! This place is for those that love treats and matcha on the sweeter side, not the bitter/hint of sweet. These people know how to make delicious sweets. We'll be back! read more

staff were welcoming and kind even tho i came shortly before they closed. whoopsies! the interior design of the place is unique and lot of decor around for you to look at i got the matcha soft serve ube tayaki red bean filling freeze dried raspberries freeze dried strawberries i couldnt really taste the ube in the tayaki but it was absolute delicious and i would come back again! just wished they would make the tayaki to order so its still warm :') read more

This shop is really small but it offers delicious Taiyaki ice cream desserts, which are still rare to find in the Portland/Beaverton area. CosCakes is only open Thursday-Sunday, so we had to plan our visit ahead of time. When I finally made it there, I got to chat with the mom/daughter duo running the place and they told me the shop was a creation of the daughter's passion for everything about Japanese culture. Having a cosplay-dessert cafes in the US was the daughter's inspiration for opening CosCakes. When we were there, they both dressed as elves and I thought that was very endearing. We tried their soft serve ice cream favors and liked them all. Right now, they have cherry blossom, along with Hokkaido milk, pistachio, matcha and a regular milk flavor. They all tasted good, but our favorite was Matcha as it is rich and creamy. When you combined the hot taiyaki waffle with the ice cream, it's a match made in heaven. Overall, we liked this little shop and would like to support our local dreamer. If you are in the area, give it a try! read more

Love this place! Have been getting their taiyaki since before they had a brick and mortar and were on the farmers market scene. My favorite is the taiyaki with soft serve and Nutella at the bottom. I am disappointed that this location doesn't take doing business seriously. I see multiple customers sitting in their cars and some standing in front of the shop waiting for it to open. It's supposed to be open but no one is here. One car left already. I've been here waiting along side them for about 15-20 mins. read more

Love this dessert spot!! So glad they're close to my side of town. I would have to drive to Portland for some matcha ice cream but this spot doesn't disappoint. The owners are so cool and huge anime fans like me!! They are super friendly and easy going. Inside of the store is so beautiful also. It reminds me of Japan. Their mural on the wall is so beautiful. My wife and I ordered the matcha soft serve with ube taiyaki and it was so delicious!! I highly recommend this place and i will definitely stop by again. read more

The red bean and ube fillings in the taiyaki are quite good! My only complaint is their staff are quite untrained with one sitting on a counter with AirPods and the other placing cutlery directly on the table (yuck!). If they could tighten things up in this department, it'd be a better experience. read more
